I dropped my phone in a shallow pan of water this morning. It still worked and wasn't that wet but I was very worried. Turned it off and started perusing yelp for local phone fixers. I tried several and they were too busy to deal with me immediately, but Tien Mai made the time and emailed me to come in. He was so sweet when I got there. He took a few minutes to mess with my phone and told me confidently he didn't think there was anything wrong with it. I asked if he wanted to dry it out on the machine, purposely giving him an opportunity to make some bucks and he said no, just don't turn it on until morning so it has a little more time to dry out. I had to ask how long he's been doing this out of an excess of caution, how long he's owned his shop and he said ** 10 YEARS ** all on his own. He's very experienced, has a super calm professional yet friendly demeanor, and has just the perfect blend of relaxed professionalism that makes you automatically trust him. But I still knew to check out his experience level. My phone seems fine this morning and I was just so happy with the human kindness that radiates out of this man. Before leaving I insisted on paying him for his time. He straight up refused. So kind. Later I wrote back over email -- remember email? That's when your phone is fubar or you're scared it is -- to thank him for his time and he wrote back saying that if I had any questions or concerns to get in touch with him. His response time overall was better and less distracted than anyone else on the various Best Of lists that I called yesterday. I think iTekh was on all 3! I can't recommend Tien Mai's customer service highly enough. He had customers lined up as per covid, but took his time and wouldn't charge me. I got the feeling he did the same thing with the woman that was ahead of me -- she seemed very pleased leaving the store. I have the feeling that when I actually have something wrong with a phone, he'll be right there for me. I have zero hesitation giving Tien Mai and his clean, friendly little shop 5 stars. I had a plotter that got damaged when I step the cable, it ripped the USB port right off of the circuit board. I ordered a new port from amazon for $6 and brought it to Itekh electronics to solder back on. They gave me a very fair price and completed the job in an hour, I was back up and running the same day. Before coming here I brought my laptop to a different shop that was said to be good at fixing laptops. I left it there for about a week for them to just tell me that they couldn't solve the problem with the BSOD (blue screen of death) and that the problem was unusual with the Alien Ware brand. I then found this place through yelp and gave them a call. They offered me a reasonable price that was a lot cheaper than the previous place. I left my laptop with Tien a couple of nights because I was leaving town for the weekend. To my surprise, Tien gave me daily calls keeping me updated about my laptop. He was able to figure out the problem within the time and even brought it home to make sure the problem didn't come back when he opened different programs and video games. The day my laptop was ready for pick up, Tien told me his work has a 90 day warranty but when I went in the sign clearly said only a 60 day warranty. It wasn't a problem to me but being the nice guy that he is, he honored his words and gave me the 90 days. Great and quick experience. I will definitely come back here if I ever have problems with my other technologies. read more

Needed to get my phone screen changed due to annoying big cracks on the corner. My uncle has passed by this shop a billion of times since living in San Pablo these past few years, so he took me here. Tien is super chill and was able to get my screen repaired in less than 30 minutes. Fast & speedy recovery! However, it seems that since the replacement screen, my phone battery has drained tremendously. For some reason, my phone wouldn't hold a charge. I came in and they ordered a new battery. I got my Iphone screen repaired here yesterday and it was a fabulous experience. I called ahead and got a quote for a $90 repair. I showed up and within 20 mins and was out the door! They fixed my screen while I waited in the lobby and were super friendly. It was also a nice surprise that the repair included a screen protector. I was so excited that I asked if they sold phone covers. They don't (which is fine since it's not at all what they do, lol) but my point was that I was so satisfied I would've loved to thrown some more business their way if they did cell accessories. I newi was going to spend $5 0 or more buying one from Best buy, and right when I was giving up I called these guys since I live relatively close to them. Beware of this business. Mom went in for screen repair, they told her she needs a new battery (she didn't) and took out her original iPhone battery and replaced it with a cheap aftermarket battery that ended up swelling and destroying her phone. I'm really annoyed they pushed her to replace the battery even though she had no complaints. I'm sure it was meant to harvest her original Apple parts AND make her pay to basically take her good battery and now she pays triple with a destroyed phone. read more
