Was looking forward to trying the fried chicken here for a few years! The name alone was intriguing and considered buying stickers for gifts. There was no line when arriving early afternoon. The glare on the window made it very difficult for me to even see if anyone was at the counter or not (they were!). I ordered the half regular fried chicken to try the overall quality of the meat and breading. However, the chicken was not as good as I expected. The breading was nice, definitely extra crispy texture (which is my preference). The meat was well cooked and juicy inside. Unfortunately, the breast pieces were dry and the thigh had a 'stale' smell (not sure was from the chicken or perhaps the breading?) Also, I am pretty sure one of our pieces was the neck -- which had no meat and was all bone and breading. Ambiance is okay -- know that there's no seating and purely takeout orders. I stood on the side of the building (in the shade) and opened the box to eat while hot. Given that there are other spots for fried chicken in the area, it is unlikely that I will return.
HEHE LOVE THE RESTAURANT NAME. Was good but pricey, $40 for 7-8 piece chicken and katsu curry. The katsu curry was yum but needed more katsu, 90% curry and 10% katsu: at least the curry had chicken inside. Compared to other Korean Fried Chicken places, the it was more of a true fried chicken: on the larger side and had more of a crispy skin.
Korean fried chicken done right! It's a small hole in the wall with limited parking, so order ahead. The food comes out piping hot and they are generous with the sauce. The people were very nice on the phone and giving us the food. The food was delicious and I would definitely come again!! Very excited to have found a good Korean fried chicken place !

Guys, I'm telling you right now don't judge a book bites. Cover the chicken wings. The soy garlic are amazing. It's a little bit out of the way, but worth it.
Itchy butt has been around for a long time. The staff is friendly and the food is good! I love the combination of kewpie mayo and chicken. The fried cheese sticks are a must try too! They are limited on parking stalls so if anything, there's street parking on the side. It's not a sit down and eat area, but a great quick grab n go. You can order ahead by phone too! If you're on Keeaumoku looking for somewhere to eat, stop by Itchy Butt. Perfect for lunch!
I've been coming to Itchy Butt since their fried chicken bowl was $6 which includes a can drink! That was a good deal then and it drew many to come for the freshly fried chicken morsels with sriracha/ mayo sauce drizzled on top. Over the years it has increased and it's now about $15. They even sells other bowls up to $17: pork katsu/chicken curry, chicken curry, bulgogi, spicy pork, garlic chicken, rice (with spam & egg), loco moco, and KFC (Korean Fried chicken) bowl with a sweet/tangy sauce. It's bright red but not hot! Now they offer a 8 piece mandoo and they even sell half/whole fried chicken too. It would be best to call ahead and put in a pre-order. The only issue is the parking! You may find metered parking on Kinau or the stalls in front on the busy Keeaumoku Street. It's located right on the corner of Keeaumoku and Kinau St near Keeaumoku Seafood. My favorite is the fried chicken bowl. The garlic chicken and the Korean fried chicken were pretty good too. KFC one reminded me of Ireh's chicken when they were at McCully Shopping Center. It was all red but it wasn't spicy but on a sweet side. I asked for the KFC sauce for my Fried chicken bowl for additional cost instead of sriracha /mayo sauce and it can be on the side. If you craving for chicken, try their bowls!
We always come here to get our Korean fried chicken fix. This is pretty unassuming and hole in the wall, but the best fried chicken. Make sure you order it not too early because you want to enjoy this fresh and hot and not have the chicken sitting around for too long for it to become soggy. The biggest mistake for me was ordering ahead of time through DoorDash. I didn't realize that they charged extra fees. I would recommend to just call ahead of time to order over the phone for pick up and pay there. We normally get the whole chicken because we come for the straight meat rather than the rice and bowls. Our two favorite flavors are they Korean and the garlic or the spicy. One is more of a wet based red sauce and the other one is dry fried. Simple,but good food and worth the higher price.

Drove by and saw a huge line so figured this is a place that I would like to try. It's takeout only and the parking isn't the best. We definitely wanted to try two flavors, but the only option was to order the whole chicken and that was just way too much for us. When you order the half it truly is half a chicken so there are some pieces that are not as big and didn't have much meat. It's not like it's just thighs and drumsticks. The garlic chicken was flavorful and wasn't too greasy. I would suggest calling in the order since there's really no place to wait and they cook it fresh so there's a bit of a wait.

Their menu is pretty straight forward. We ordered the Bulgogi Rice Bowl and the 1/2 Shoyu Chicken Wings. OMG the wings are HUGE! SO MUCH FLAVOR! They marinade was delicious! Sweet, savory and addicting!!! Same goes for the Bulgogi Rice Bowl! It was a little spicy but the sweetness of the meat balanced it out. I def recommend checking this place out when in Oahu! It's a great spot for that quick bite to eat!
Happy National Fried Chicken Day! Hope you were able to get some crispy goodness today. Itchy Butt on Keeaumoku Street has winner chicken options. I normally get the original fried chicken bowl, but this is the first time I have tried the garlic chicken and was pleasantly surprised. Almost as good as Sugoi's, so flavorful and juicy. It's a small business and I respect that. I have heard about it for years now and after these hurricanes and such I wasn't in the mood to cook. So I decided why not try something and also help a local small business. I went off peak which was perfect. I called in the order and got there to pick it up. Came home and opened the box up. Garlic fried chicken (I bought the $2 hot spicy sauce on the side to dip), I ordered the spicy pork on rice. All this came with 2 cans of juice or soda and a small container or pickled radish. I tried the chicken and it was crispy. The garlic flavor was so strong. I love garlic but this was way too much in my opinion. I mean, yes, you will smell like garlic for a week after you eat this. lol. I love garlic and don't get me wrong, but I think so much garlic made it a bit hard to digest. The spicy sauce wasn't as flavorful as it looks. The radish was a better fix and the spicy pork was ok. I tried to add salt to the chicken for I found it rather bland even with all the garlic. Maybe that's a suggestion to salt the chicken (?) but then again who am I to say a thing. They have been in business for a while and I asked the clever name of the business and it was the youngest family member who was given the task to choose a name for the business and that's what stuck. I think it was quite clever. Even if you don't go you'll forever remember the name. If you absolutely can tolerate a ton of garlic, you will absolutely love it here. Came here yesterday after an appointment at Hale Pawaa. Parking can be tricky as there are only a few stalls out front, or metered parking around the corner. Got a family order to try two flavors, garlic and spicy. Garlic was tasty, spicy was definitely spicy and had heat. The chicken was cooked well, crispy skin and juicy meat. Delicious all inclusive meal. Half of a fried chicken, mozzarella sticks, crispy white radish and Hawaiian Sun Juice. Awesome deal. All elements very tasty. Come for the name, come back again for the Delish Food. Just don't pay attention o the grumpy workers. I suspect they are over worked. Or just tired from hand cutting so many chickens. read more

Take-out only, order ahead via phone or from the window. Service is curt but fast. They give you an accurate wait time over the phone. Parking is street and not in the best area so don't take too long! The chicken was OK. It was clearly hot/fresh which was great. The garlic sauce was very good. The shoyu was way salty. The chicken itself was kind of bland/flavorless and not as juicy. Pieces were big and generous. We got the "whole" chicken for 2 people and it was way too much food - better for 3-4 people for sure. Would go for the half next time and maybe add a side instead. Wish they gave a little more pickled daikon to go with a whole chicken. I think I like Good Chicken more, but this is a not bad option since it's in a more accessible location than Waikiki (since the Good Chicken Kakaako location has been closed). read more
Gave this place a try for the first time and it was awesome. Called in our order and it was ready when I got there. For its location parking can be a little tricky if they're busy but luckily they weren't when I went by. We ordered a half order of Shoyu Chicken, Cheese Sticks and a Bulgogi Bowl with a Fried Egg which also came with 2 drinks. They give big portions so the box they gave me the food in was soo heavy. The chicken was sticky, delicious and huge! These were no small little chicken wings. I swear a few were drumstick sized. They also went perfectly with the pickled radish that comes with it. The Cheese Sticks were crunchy and filled with melted cheese but you gotta eat them when they're fresh and hot. The Bulgogi Bowl was full of tender and very well seasoned meat and adding the fried egg was the best touch. read more

This is a whole in the wall in Honolulu but very delicious food! They have good portion sizes and the chicken pieces are big! I ordered the Garlic Chicken Bowl + drink combo and I couldn't finish it myself! Definitely shareable between two people! Be aware that there is no place to sit and you order from a window to go. 10/10 recommend! read more

This is a must visit if you love fried chicken!!!!! I swear Hawaii has some of the best fried chicken I've ever had!!!! I ordered the garlic fried chicken bowl and damn it's the best garlic fried chicken I've ever had!! The fried chicken is golden crisp and juicy!!! It's a small little restaurant on the corner of the street with minimal parking spaces so I parked on the street by the park. It's a small little window where you order from and food took about 10 mins to come out and also there isn't any seating, it's all for take out! This is another hidden food gem in Hawaii!!!!!!!! read more

Q: Am I loving this place? A: You bet your Itchy Butt I am!!! Okay after knowing about this place for a good bit and always passing after they have closed for the day, I finally set out to test out new waters. My first purchase included 1/2 Shoyu Chicken, 1/2 Garlic Chicken and 1/2 of the Korean Chicken (the Curry Chicken Bowl was sold out). My second visit was done specifically to retry the Korean Chicken. I grabbed a Curry Chicken Bowl too. I was off island for three weeks and when I returned I grabbed more Korean Chicken (Curry Bowl was sold out again ). Then two days ago I had Korean Chicken and snagged a Curry Bowl to eat at work. Obviously the Korean Chiclen pleases my palate but, what about those other chicken orders I purchased during my first visit? The shoyu was good but, when comlared to the garlic and the Korean... it failed to keep up in the race. I will dare to say, and yes I know I may receive some backlash for it... Though it has been a minute since I ate garlic chicken from the legendary place that serves it out at the far Ewa-end of King Street, I believe that Itchy Butt now holds the title as King of garlic chicken... at least of the ones that I have tried thus far. The Chicken Curry Bowl: Often times this menu offering is sold out... so, for me, if they have it, I just buy it. Not to deter my heroic foodie readers, but it is not the best I have ever eaten but, far from the worst due to the earthy flavors being so pleasant. I love when the spice is obvious but, within reason. DONT FEAR THIS ONE: The CCB is delicious... and if you do not believe... well then.... go try it out for yourself. Usually come here for the garlic fried chicken and cheese sticks, however the last few trips they forgot our cheese sticks and the chicken was a little dry. Wish there were more consistency with their takeout order. Another thing is that I usually call in my order for takeout but end up still having to wait longer when I arrive. I just figured it would be ready if you give a estimated pickup time. Overall decent hole in the wall spot for KFC when that craving hits! read more

Food counter on corner. Take away only. I got the 10 piece Korean , you get a drink and some pickled radish so a reasonable deal. Chicken very good. A mix of white and dark which I wasn't expecting. Really would prefer all dark -- whole wings, some drum , breast. I would prefer all drums and flats. But this is how they prepare. It wasn't as crispy as I would want but to be fair I didn't eat it for awhile. The sauce was the key -- delicious -- sweet and hot and sticky and thicker. Coating great. I ate it all in one sitting. read more

Fried Chicken Bowl Is The Go To! Haven't had Itchy Butt in YEARS! ...BUT...it was still as tasty as the last time I've eaten here. Great hole in the wall place for take away. Service can be a hit or a miss. Today it was a little busier and we needed to wait longer than usual. Prices did raise a bit since the last time we've eaten here but for $11.50 you get a good amount of fried chicken AND it does come with a drink. So still believe it's a good bargain! Whenever you're in town, gotta get your itchy butt fix! Noms. read more
