Hot Pastrami, It was only half. I couldn't wait to bite into it

Seafood food and atmosphere. Our waitress was Britney and did a good job and took care of everyone.

Chicken Pisa Sandwich

A gem for Chico's culinary scene! I've been coming here for many years now. This restaurant never fails to impress me. They offer sandwiches, pizzas, salads, pastas and much, much more. The ambiance is soothing for me. It's dim when you walk in, but there is ample lighting at your table. The restaurant is never too noisy, even when it's busy inside. Back to the food. I love their sandwiches, especially their Chicken Pisa and their Pastrami. Delicious! They provide you with a solid-sized sandwich cut in 2 and include a pickle, some Italian peppers and a couple olives. I also like their salads. People don't like beets, but I love them, and they really enhance a salad for me. I know that pizza can be ordered anywhere these days, but try their pizza too. It's also delicious! They have a wonderful selection of pastas. I need to try those someday! Stop by here when you have the chance.

Pesto Cottage Bread

Everything was delightful and the food was delicious. But I really wanted to take a moment and show appreciation for our wonderful server named Zinnia. She is absolutely amazing. She is so hardworking, patient, and so sweet. She has a wonderful demeanor and you can tell she is just an all sound beautiful person. I truly hope she gets all the praise that she deserves! Thank you for everything!

Pastrami

Wouldn't recommend getting the pesto pasta with chicken, the pastrami, the Caesar grilled and the cheese bread, the chicken salad the pesto pasta was bland and the chicken tasted like mystery meat(probably lemur) the salad had too much dressing and didn't taste like Caesar, DO NOT TRY THE PICKLES their for display. The cheese bread was like something you get at Walmart on clearance, the pastrami sandwich was soggy the bread wasn't toasted and asked for grilled onions and got slightly raw

Chicken Fried Chicken

Had breakfast here and asked to eat outside. Was a beautiful day and we stayed shaded as the temps rose toward mid day.. Our server Britney seated us quickly and was very friendly and attentive throughout. I ordered the chicken fried chicken breakfast and it was outstanding! The toasted, buttered pieces sourdough baguette were also yummy. Probably one of the best breakfasts I've had in 25 years! (Shout out to Lisa Lawson - Chico State Alum)

Coke Zero is now on the menu.

I love the Cottage, it's old school Chico. Friendly wait staff. Solid, mid-level Italian food. Well-worn booths but always clean surfaces. Generous plates (though mixed reviews on the protein serving sizes).

First off this place is beautiful and elegant. We had the opportunity to sit on the balcony with…read morethe view of downtown Chico while the sun was setting! The weather was perfect and the service was excellent. Our waiter suggested drinks for us and breakfast and oil was brought out to us. Loved the cute touch with the restaurants bake in the oil. We started off with Brussels sprouts and the shrimp arrbbiata. The appetizer set the standard for the meal and these did not disappoint! The Brussels sprouts were crispy and crunchy yet sweet and salty! The shrimp was placed on a thick sourdough bread that was so soft by the lemon garlic butter that the fork easily cut into it! This dish lemon scampi sauce was so delicious I need the recipe asap!! For entree we ordered lobster ravioli that has a form cream lobster reduction that was so creamy and buttery! The ravioli was perfectly cooked and soft! Probably the best lobster ravioli I've had! The second entree was the shortrib ragu and the rib meat were tender and the pasta soft! The burrata cheese on top pulled all the flavors together! This is such a cute place with great views and great service!

For my daughter's birthday, she chose Crush in Chico, and as first impressions go... this one made…read morea strong entrance. You step inside and head upstairs, and suddenly the outside world is forgotten. It's its own little realm holding court in the heart of Chico. It is warm, inviting, and has plenty of seating, with a full cast of attentive staff, and decor that doesn't shout "Italian!" from the rooftops, but is very hipster whispering with confidence. We opened with the lamb appetizer, and I'll admit this with measured humility... it rivaled my own. Tender, well-seasoned, and not a trace of that gamey nonsense. The Brussels sprouts followed suit, crisped just right, delivering that perfect bite between char and flavor. The bread and dipping combo? Let's just say restraint was not my strong suit. A few pizzas passed by like temptation itself, and every one of us took notice. Plans were made... our future visit in the works. For the mains, the birthday girl claimed the ribeye, and it arrived exactly as it should... cooked to perfection, with potatoes that could quietly steal the show if you weren't paying attention. Her boyfriend and I, in a moment of questionable maturity, settled our fate with Rochambeau. He emerged victorious and took the crispy chicken breast with gnocchi, a dish generous enough to test even a committed appetite. I went with the short rib ragu, rich and comforting, the kind of plate that doesn't need explaining. The drink selection holds its own, and the dessert menu read like a final act worth staying for... but we were defeated in the best possible way and bowed out early. Service never missed a beat. Present, attentive, and smooth from start to finish. Parking, as with most things in downtown Chico, requires a bit of patience and perhaps a small offering to the parking gods. But once inside, it's quickly forgotten. All told, a night well spent. Good food, good company, and a place that knows exactly what it's doing without needing to announce it. We'll be back... if only to answer the question those passing pizzas left behind.

Sicilian Café is way bigger on the inside than it looks. The outdoor bar area was completely full…read morewhen we arrived, and the interior dining room was packed too--the crowd never really let up, which I think says a lot. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We started with the garlic bread and bruschetta, both of which were excellent. The mozzarella on the bruschetta was especially rich and buttery, definitely a standout. The moscow mule was refreshing, though I wish the ginger had a little more kick, and the cool strawberry mocktail was superb, not too sweet with the mint coming through. For mains, the spaghettini had naturally sweet tomatoes and a thick sauce that clung beautifully to the noodles. The scallops were fresh and sweet, though the mushroom risotto with saffron crème they sat on leaned tangy, which might be hit-or-miss depending on your palate. The chicken piccata was also quite tart, true to style. And the pork special was good too. We ended with the spumoni that was cherry-forward, and tiramisu, which was fantastic. Decadent, yet light and airy.

The olive oil and balsamic that go with the excellent bread are top quality and it just goes on from there. We had a lovely time this evening and our server, Rebekah, was especially delightful.
