Funny on web page (where 516 reviews 98% all 5 stars - yeah right) after introductory cost it lists the regular price as $90 (same size, climate control, 1st floor). The representative at US Storage Lake Elmo said I can move into another 10' x 15' and get the $90 rate. I asked the logic of that -- he didnt have an explanation! It's pretty easy to figure they hope you dont go through the hassle of moving (knowing this organization -- to another building) in hopes you sit tight. I was warned about this exact issue before I rented here -- so take heed. I have a tie to our last Minnesota Attorney General (Swanson) and I'll check what my legal options are on this fleecing of me and other customers with the same concerns.

I've called cooperate 3 times and gotten great customer service there but they always refer back to the site manager and district manager who never return calls. The site manager was rude when I went in person and she told me I had to go through cooperate which is the opposite of what I get told from them. I can say though that Keegan who works on site was very help full when I closed the other unit I had. It unfortunate that I haven't been able to deal with him to close this unit.

He built the storage units at MPLS Storage himself (it's family-owned and operated). He showed me the 12ft walls, and how they can't be scaled by anything short of a full-sized ladder (ESS has 8-foot walls that can be cleared with a lawn chair). Tenants are admitted to their units by appointment only, which means no strangers following another customer through an unlocked door like at ESS. Most importantly, he listened. He heard my concerns and addressed them immediately. He's a human being who wants to help others store their belongings safely and securely, and he's the opposite of the experience I had at ESS. If you need to store stuff and don't mind making appointments, store your stuff at MPLS. You won't regret it.

Simply Self Storage had great pricing online and was giving a 'first month free' discount. We ended up renting a 10x10 space for about 5 months and were very pleased. Access was easy, but secure.
