In April, I was unable to open one of my storage unit doors. An employee came out immediately, confirmed the door was stuck, and told me they would contact a door company and that the repair would take "a few weeks." It is now July 23, and I still cannot access my unit. Since April, I have contacted both the local facility and the corporate office multiple times. I have requested updates, asked for a refund or credit for the unusable unit, and have repeatedly been told that someone else has to handle it. I was referred to the Ohio representative several times, but my calls were not returned. When I finally spoke with her, she said she would look into it after returning to the office, but she didn't even take my account information. When I spoke with the local facility again, I felt like I was getting the runaround. I had to explain the situation all over again, received conflicting information, and was once again told it would be "a few more weeks." I was even asked to provide a copy of my key, which I declined because I want to be present if anyone accesses my unit. The most frustrating part is that I use this unit to store inventory for my resale business. I have been paying rent on time every month for over five years, yet I have been unable to access my own belongings for nearly four months. I also cannot move to another unit because I can't get into this one to remove my inventory. At this point, I'm simply asking for someone with the authority to resolve this to contact me, repair or replace the door immediately, and issue an appropriate credit or refund for the months I've been paying for a unit I cannot use. I have tried to resolve this privately for months. I'm posting this review in hopes that someone in management will finally take ownership of the situation and make it right.

In a past life I used to manage one of these facilities (not for this company however), so I know a little about the industry. This is a fairly new property, everything seemed pretty well in order on the outside and their rates were reasonable for 24/7 access, they were even offering one month free with a paid month, pretty good deal really. The reason I gave this particular facility 3 stars was mainly due to the office environment. My first impression was that it was very small (not a big deal), but there were two small kids playing in the office and a dog running around with the accompanying dog odors. Now let me fist say that we have 6 kids all between the ages of 2-11, so I'm not one of those that despises kids, just thought it was not quite the place and was a distraction when we were trying to discuss the rental contract. In addition to the two kids there was one goth looking teen sitting behind the counter, one trainee, and a lady that I'm going to assume was the manager, a lot of people for a very small office! The service was fine, a little hard to focus on what was being said at times, but average overall. I probably won't have much interaction with the office after today (other than paying the bill), so other than the office environment I would recommend L&M so far (updates to come). By the way, they do offer indoor climate controlled storage for more sensitive items (electronics, etc) and the rates were reasonable across the board.
