After being unable to get into Polished (like always lol) I headed to Isabella. I had been here once just before the pandemic hit and had a great experience, but hadn't been getting nails done since for obvious reasons. I was able to get a walk-in for shellac on a Friday morning, which felt miraculous. They sat me as soon as I selected my colours and Kelly got me set up to go. Despite what some reviews here say, I was very happy with Kelly and her work! She and I chit chatted a little, and she did beautiful job on my nails. Absolute worst service and zero hygiene Review: I went in for a nail treatment and left feeling completely insulted. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had. 1. Disgusting Hygiene: The technician shook out a dirty towel right in front of me and used that same towel--covered in nail dust--to wipe my hands with just a bit of water. It was incredibly unsanitary. 2. Rude Service: There was no verbal communication at all. No "left hand" or "right hand" please. She just grabbed and pulled my hands around with body language, treating me like I was a pet. 3. Poor Quality: If you're having a bad day, don't take it out on paying customers. The skill level is just as bad as the attitude. My nails are ruined, and my mood is even worse. A total waste of money. Save yourself the frustration and go somewhere else. read more

I usually go to a salon in Kirkland with my girlfriend. She is out of town and Isabella's is closer to my house. I walked in with no appointment. They sat me down almost immediately. I don't know the name of the woman who did my nails, but she started cutting them way too short. When I told her not to short, she said OK and continued to cut them short. When cleaning up my cuticles, she was too aggressive, and I started bleeding. I was there for maybe 15 minutes. I don't know if it's because I'm a guy, but the whole experience was rushed and sloppy. I went in for a manicure.... I sat down at 3:05 and by 3:30 I was being told my total... and I waited sitting there for 10 minutes to start. So yea they tried to give me a polish change and charge me for a full on manicure.... She didn't even cut my cuticles or do any of that... the nail polish is stuck to my overgrown cuticles. I went in on my birthday for a nice relaxing manicure to make me feel good about looking down at my hands and I walked out irritated and upset. There's no change except a color from what my nails were before and I do not recommend this place at all. Not to mention I tried two cards and ended up being asked to pay cash. I walked to all the atms 2 were out of order, and the last one wanted a dollar charge which I wasn't not going to pay that fee, I was mad, it was raining and I was late so I left. I just threw a check in the mail because I felt bad not paying for the service but at the same time I regret sending it because I have to go get another manicure tomorrow to actually fix my nails. The owner, Larry, did my manicure and Sa did my pedicure. Sa was sweet and did a great job on my toes. She even did a candy cane design for Christmas. The colors I selected for a base and then a sparkle top coat for my fingers was not to Larry's liking, and he suggested I try something different. It's always interesting when someone questions your taste, but hey, he does this stuff all day so I listened. He actually showed me what my choice would look like and then he showed me what he suggested instead. It was nice of him to care, and not just do whatever crazy looking mess I picked. LOL. This place is cleaner and nicer than the other two shops in town, but the regular polish and the OPI Infinite Shine selections are somewhat limited. I read over the reviews and was still willing to take a chance. I called ahead and asked if they were taking walk-ins. Nothing I hate more than going to a nail salon and having to wait or being told they don't have time to perform all the requested services. Upon arrival, I was quickly greeted and asked what services. Stated I wanted a pedicure & manicure. I picked out a color and asked if they had a list of services to determine what kind of pedicure I wanted. I asked for the signature pedicure. Upon sitting in the chair, I found out they couldn't perform because they had an appointment and didn't have enough time. Okay, no problem I told them and proceeded to go on with a standard pedicure. The water was barely hot. After about 5 minutes into the pedicure, their phone rang and surprisingly, someone was canceling their appointment. They now had time to do a signature pedicure and asked if I still wanted. Sure, I said. The best part of the signature pedicure was the massage. The man did an amazing job of massaging my feet and legs. However, the actual pedicure was lacking. I didn't feel my nails were attended to in a typical pedicure way. No trimming or cleaning of cuticles. My toe nails were trimmed down and filed but that was it. My feet were washed and scrubbed but I definitely wanted more attention to my toe nails. The lady did my manicure while sitting in the chair getting my pedi. This has somehow become the new norm of most nail salons and it is not my preference. It's uncomfortable and makes my pedicure less relaxing. The manicure itself was not my favorite either. My nails were not filed properly and had uneven areas. I want to be able to run my other fingers over my nails and have it feel smooth. She also cut my nails down all the way when I asked just to make them even. Instead of making them even by only cutting some, she cut them all down. After the finished manicure, I wasn't that impressed. My nails and nail beds did not look any better than when I first arrived. The place itself is very clean. It's beautifully decorated. The chairs are nice and very comfortable. Prices are very fair too. The music in the background was pleasing. A great ambiance overall. Unfortunately my mani and pedi experience didn't match the ambiance. read more

I recently had a terrible experience at this nail salon and felt compelled to share my disappointment. The acrylic nails I had done at this salon turned out chunky and thick, to make matters worse, the gel on top started peeling within just a WEEK. This has never happened to me before and I've been getting my nails done for years. On top of that the pedicure was also a disaster. My toes looked as if I had done them myself with the cuticle area completely flooded with gel polish. Prior to this service I had stubbed my big toe and a good portion of my nail ripped off and when I asked the nail technician to be cautious with it he didn't listen and proceeded to use nippers, a buffer and a file causing a lot of pain. When I went back to the salon to address theee issues and request a refund after coming back from a trip in Yakima that made it unable for me to come prior I was met with RUDENESS AND ACCUSATIONS of lying. It's clear to me that this salon doesn't care about the quality of their work or the satisfaction of their clients. I STRONGLY ADVISE AGAINST PATRONIZING THIS ESTABLISHMENT. read more

I have been here a few times and really can not stand how inconsistent they are. Sometimes I get a good gel manicure and sometimes it is rushed. Twice I have been cut by them using the nail file on my finger because they rub it so fast and hard like they're rushing, which they don't even apologize for. I had to tell him to chill on the nail filing. He kept saying it was fine, that I wouldn't get an infection. *eye roll* As if he could predict whether or not I'd get an infection, which it did puff up a few days after but luckily I disinfected it at home right away. Pretty irritated that I even left him a tip. I have gotten acrylics here as well and they started lifting after a week. It lifted so bad on my pinky finger that it hurt. I had to go to another salon to get them removed, as I didn't trust this place to do the job. I don't recommend this place and refuse to come here even though the shop looks nice. read more

After visiting here several more times for both pedicures and waxing, I am very disappointed in the service. Decor remains 5 stars. It would be great if you wanted to just sit and enjoy the environment, but that doesn't make for a great nail salon. As this salon appears to grow in customer traffic, its nail and waxing service continues to plummet. I've had several different pedicure technicians and each vary but remain poor quality. For me this means, pain with cuticle trimming and pressure of scrubbing, application of polish and skill. The only great plus is the length of time on the massaging. Waxing was previously quick and thorough. It remains quick, but lacks in art. If I require some plucking and return in a week for shaping when I can usually go three weeks, this is a NO go for me. Receptionist is very helpful, sweet and attentive. The technicians appear unfriendly and lack (in my preference) greetings. Sadly, I will not return. read more

Anyways, in my 5 years of going here I always had Larry do my acrylics and he does a good job. Unfortunately, he has an extremely rude wife (Kelly) as a co-owner. Of all my times here, she was only pleasant once. I have seen and heard her be rude to other customers countless times. Not the best experience. The woman who was doing my nails (apparently the owner/manager) was nice but unprofessional. While I was having my nails done, she was doing hers as well! As she was filing my nails she would stop and quickly file one of hers and then proceed back to filing my nail. She then proceeded to "cut" my cuticles down with the electric filter but ended up cutting me, causing me to bleed.... and later on get an infection. The polish application was decent. While my nails were drying she proceeded to work on taking off her own shellac manicure right in front of me, at the same station. I'm happy with my nails. They are pretty. I've tried different nail spa in the area off and on for the last couple years and this is one of the best ones. The nail techs know what they are doing and take time to really relax my calf muscles and buff my dead skin away. They were thorough with my massage and all details. I also like how they sanitize all spa chairs completely after each customer. By the tech themselves and service provided, I will give them 4 stars. I minus a star since their front desk lady receptionist was not professional. Though it's unfair to the nails tech, I had to. I do not think french tips should look like that. They made her pay for the manicure TWICE without mentioning that they would double charge before they started to redo them. I was drawn by the pretty interior and cleanliness of the place. Visited the place twice so far... The end result is good. I will give this place another try if they promise not to leave oil on my linen pants while massaging and drench my pants in water while rinsing. I've mentioned more then twice about it in a process but was not heard. What surprised me two times when visited, was the speed I was zoomed through the services mani/pedi both times while I observed other guests staying there longer, quite longer then me. When I asked the nail tech why is that she replied that my skin was not as callused and mani is done in 20 min while pedi takes 30. And, the tech said.. they do watch the clock to stay to the protocol. Meanwhile there was a lady who had her feet pedi/ massaged before I sat down, while I got a pedi and was done with mani and she was still going. Prior time there was a group getting pedi and martini before I sat down for my toes to be beautified and they also stayed past my departure. Today I learned firsthand why cheap nail salons are sometimes called chop shops. The nail tech almost chopped my damn toe off. I might be over exaggerating, but I blame it on severe blood loss. I was leery when an older woman with glasses came over to my station but I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. Maybe she was a hipster Asian grandma and she was wearing glasses for fashion not function! Maybe it just meant she had more experience than most! ...More experience mutilating the feet of women is more like it. While cutting my cuticles she cut what was definitely not my cuticle. I could have and would have gotten over it if that was the only thing that went wrong, but the good times just kept on rollin! Her hands were extremely unsteady and she spent more time fixing her mistakes than she did actually painting my nails. Not once but twice, while she was fixing past errors no less, she smudged my polish with her hand. She didn't wait for the bleeding to stop (and bleed it did!) and so the polish has streaks of my own blood in it. I do a fine job on my nails on my own, but I get my nails done once in a while to treat myself and relax. Near death experiences are not relaxing. read more

I only come and see Kelly now. The orange sugar scrub they use or your legs smells heavenly. They give the very best massages, are very clean and friendly. I mostly come for pedicures but have also had a full acrylic set done here. I've always found the process a bit smelly and painful but at Isabella's they were extremely gentle and have special vacuum fans that completely suck away the chemical scent. Beautiful ambiance and the variety of nail colors were great. I loved the way my nails were shaped... although they were trimmed with a nail drill instead of cut with a nail clipper. I found that strange and it felt weird on my fingers, but the shape turned out perfect. I am just hoping it did not damage my nails too much. I got a shellac manicure and a regular pedicure.
