She takes her time to understand your hair type, growth cycles, texture, scalp health and how it might take to color. Color My goal was always to use balayage to add some natural dimension with my hair and to minimize the streaky look with grow out. I went from having to come in for a balayage 3 times a year at other salons to 1x/year, maybe 2 times if I want it to look great for an event or if I didn't want to have to sit in for a full balayage appointment. I have long and very thick straight hair, previous colors have gone brassy and I've never had that happen with Jenn's work. She also taught me how to better care for the color in a way that fits my lifestyle over trying to sell me on super expensive products. Cut She takes the time to understand how my hair grows out, which meant I committed to a few cuts with her to really dial in what cut will work with my hair and side swept bangs so that it doesn't grow out shaggy OR heavy. Because my hair is so thick and straight, my bangs typically will grow out and feel heavy leading me wanting to trim it every 2 weeks. With the way she has cut and styled my bangs, I'm able to extend that to a bang trim anywhere between a month to 1.5 months. When it comes to layering the rest of my hair, we've dialed it into a cut every 3-6 months depending on growth and sun exposure. Cut - Men's She also cuts my husband's hair. Yes she will take her time, but for someone who has thinning hair, a regular fade and buzz doesn't always work with his hair because you can see the fade lines. Jenn leads her cuts with education and my husband finally takes care of his scalp and hair as he's noticed a big difference in his hair health with Jenn's support. She's passionate about the art of cutting and styling hair and she's amazing at what she does. Booking in advanced is key as her schedule does fill up.

The chin and jawline were done freehand with shears, no guard, cutting to what she was seeing. She buffered the upper cheek line with a shorter guard to soften the ridge instead of leaving a hard carved edge, which looks far more natural. She also showed me how to hold the lines myself between visits. Same length family, completely different beard -- the shape works with my face now instead of against it. If you have a longer beard and want it genuinely shaped rather than just trimmed shorter, book 40 min beard service with her. Worth the time and the money.

They have an awesome staff and street parking. They do give you parking passes if you have a service (such as coloring) that takes longer than the street allotted time of 2 hrs. The Salon location used to actually be a block down the street and it was large and roomy, I believe a bar now took over the location so now this place is near Chop House Hair Salon and Red Apple. This location is currently closed to COVID, but their Renton location is suppppper nice and BOOMING! I actually love it at the Renton location because it is much closer to home for me and super convenient. I always see Teresa for my hair needs. Like I said previously, I have been seeing her at the Beacon Hill / Seattle location since I was little. She styled my hair for all my middle and high school dances. Gave me my first haircut, perm, highlights, Balayage and the list goes on. Typically, I always need to refresh my balayage and come in for a split end trim. I always get my hair layered bc its super thick and heavy. Teresa always knows exactly what to do. If I'm going for something different than my usual, I bring in pictures and that is all she needs! She's very accommodating as I started to get allergic reactions to the glue she was using, she had other glue types which were hypoallergenic or just better for sensitive peepz. I have so much hair and she got through it without a problem... the fluffy volume lash fills are also at a fair price! On that note, I also wish the salon had informed me ahead of time that this stylist was a senior and that her services would cost significantly more. I wouldn't have minded paying the difference had the experience and quality matched the price, but not being told in advance felt frustrating and a little sneaky.
