Started seeing Shelly 2 years ago for laser hair removal & have had a great experience! She provides reasonably priced packages that take place in a clean & welcoming environment with a friendly & knowledgeable practitioner who makes the experience as comfortable as possible (stress balls to squeeze, icing the areas between zaps). She is also great with responding promptly & about checking in to adjusting the frequency of appointments depending on where things are at with your hair growth as opposed to pushing a set schedule that may be less effective & lead to needing more sessions. I just finished the last of my sessions this week & am super happy with the results. As an esthetician myself (though not certified in laser, otherwise, I'd do my own!), I really appreciate all the little ways she makes the experience more comfortable & if I weren't leaving the area I would definitely continue to come to Skinnovate for my lasering needs! read more

My partner was very excited for laser hair removal and in particular for Skinnovate, due to what appears on the surface to be consistently high ratings - but her experience ended up extremely disappointing. I would not recommend reaching out if this is your first time, or if you simply have questions about understanding the procedures that might happen to your body. My partner exchanged two emails with questions. The first email had a prompt reply and was very pleasant, which was (past tense) really nice to see. My partner wrote a second polite email asking about numbing treatments and the types of lasers, to understand the safety aspects. She was by Shelly that "Based on your amount of questions and overall concerns for so many things" that Shelly didn't want to work with us. Shelly's rejection and suggestion for us was a chain of laser hair removal that has, on average less than 3 stars on Yelp. You can interpret that as you want. I don't think it's unreasonable to be concerned about a new procedure that involves pain - if Shelly isn't willing to alleviate concerns about safety, I don't think this business could be recommended to be used or even contacted. Frankly, we don't feel safe with practitioners who are unwilling to answer questions. Or, maybe we are supposed to just not ask too many questions? read more

Shelly is the real deal! I have been here twice so far for underarm and bikini line laser treatments and everything has been great! Shelly is super informative from the very beginning letting you know the ins and outs of laser hair removal and the cost. I really appreciated her being upfront about the cost because a lot of people aren't. She walks you through the entire process and let's you know what she's doing as she's doing it. The procedure itself takes 10 minutes or less (depending what area and areas you're getting done). Now it's not painful but i would relate the laser to a very hard rubber band snap. Definitely manageable to deal with. On the plus side you also start seeing results after the first time! Shelly is fantastic! I will be back for more treatments and maybe even a facial! read more

Why didn't I do this sooner? I had no idea how effective and affordable laser hair removal was! Shelly is the only place I could find that has prices readily available, which I loved because I wanted to know what I was getting myself into. So far I have gone in twice for a session on my bikini and upper leg, then underarm and lower leg. Shelly is super funny and real. She makes you crack up the entire time so you almost don't feel a thing. It isn't painless, but each laser zap is comparable to plucking a hair on whichever area is being treated. I've never had my bikini area treated. Mainly, I didn't want to put myself through the torture of a bikini wax for very temporary results! My first sessions were three weeks ago and my hair is at least 90% gone in every area! I really wanted to get to the point where my hair just falls out of my skin, but stubble is my worst enemy so I shave daily. Yes it takes about seven sessions for permanent results but you get hair loss after the FIRST TIME! I don't think enough people know that. Shelly is fantastic and I will definitely be returning to Skinnovate for future sessions! read more

Plain and simple, I hate to shave... Over the years I've tried everything to not end up with an extremely irritated neck. She has perfect 5 star reviews for a reason and this review is seriously overdue. I stumbled across Shelly after having a not-so-great experience a couple years ago getting lasered at a med spa. It's an amazing one-on-one experience that's more relaxing & fun than anything! Obviously laser hair removal is not the most comfortable thing in the world, but you'll laugh & talk your way through it. I always feel comfortable seeing Shelly for lasering ANYWHERE on my body & she takes all the precautions if you're nervous about going during covid time. I used to be someone that needed to be waxed every 2-4 weeks consistently for years. Now, I can go weeks without needing to shave with super soft skin & no ingrowns. I started getting laser hair removal with Shelly about 6 months ago and my results have been nothing but fabulous! She is very knowledgeable and precise and does a great job removing all my unwanted hair. She's also very clean and sanitary, and does her best to make you as comfortable as possible during the treatment. I have made the mistake in the past purchasing cheaper Groupon laser deals and had no results and only wasted my money. I learned that you really get what you pay for and am so happy I found her!
