Islands is kind of lost in the sea of burgers. #1 they are VERY expensive - watch your wallet her #2 the food is good, but not worth the price you pay #3 the service is good, but I would expect crazy good service for this price. Went there a couple of nights ago with the wife and two kids. Ordered Fish Tacos for my wife, chicken strips with fries for the boys to share and a Classic Burger for me. Service was E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T! And here is what earned them the five stars, despite of everything. As I said, service was great. Unfortunately, my burger came out bloody, despite asking for well done. Our waitress (I'm so sorry I forgot her name) had me a brand new burger made which was spot-on and extremely tasty, too. Wife liked her fish tacos, boys liked the chicken. But the fries, oh the fries - the first batch we got we thought they were bad, they were really dry and broke more like chips rather than fries. The manager came around to apologize and made sure we'd get a new batch of fries. Oh alas, the fries were the same again: partially dry and hard, partially nice and soft, the way they should be. The manager apologized a million times and explained that they've been having a hard time with their supplier, which I do believe. In the end he was nice enough not only not to charge us for the extra batch of fries but also to give us a huge discount on our bill. I have to say, both service and management handled this case EXCEPTIONALLY WELL! We love the fact how nice they all were and how professionally and well the situation was handled. And that earns them five stars, because the food per se was good, other than the fries. Thanks guys, thank you so much. We'll be returning for sure. read more

Love coming here I must be honest my husband would always want to come here and at first I was like I guess but that's because I hadn't found the Beachbowl! It is amazing! It's healthy and delicious! The service is always great and I can't say there's ever a wait like at other places. My son loves his kids burger and my husband loves his burger as well. This place used to be awesome but steadily declining and tonight is the last straw. I get it's Saturday. I get it's Mother's Day weekend but how about staffing the bar. The waitress never acknowledges us sitting at a high top. Finally I go up to the bar and she rudely says someone will be there can't you see we are busy. So a waiter goes to the table next to ours and takes their order - they have been there maybe 2 minutes - then he walks right past us and goes to the table on the other side and asks if they need anything then the next table. Finally had a chance to eat here and... It was delicious! The decor is fun and island like and our waitress was on point! Mai Tai- they weren't messing around. Very strong but very easy to drink. Mahi Mahi tacos- really big chunks of Mahi! Perfectly seasoned. So delicious and worth it. Point Break Burger- oh M g! The best burger I have had in a very long time. The bun was buttery and perfectly toasted. Meat at a perfect medium. Topped with a bacon/Caramelized onion sauce So delicious. Also came with fries which were perfectly crisp and seasoned. The ONLY NEGATIVE: for the love of all things island themed. PLEASE change your music. Really, Seal being played? And that Buble guy? Please play some reggae, island, John Mayer if you must! The patio service area was more of a "place to eat your to go order". Basically, you order to go and then take your to go order to the tables on the patio to eat. When I was there for lunch there was no follow up service, once I got my to go order, that was all the service I got. In all fairness, the young man that took care of us did seem to be quite busy, but it would've been nice for someone to check on us to see if we needed anything else. All of the waiters, the front area welcome workers and the floor general manager; Jessie, were all so kind and thoughtful. Hubby and I took our grandson there tonight, and Jessie made sure we were all taken care of, down to making sure we had crayons and coloring pages for our cute grandson! I visited this branch when visiting a friend down in Temecula. The Kilauea burger is delicious. Slightly spicy with the black pepper and super juicy. I am not sure if they changed how they prepare it, but they now have a black pepper crusted patty which made it look burnt, but it was not. Order any of the burgers comes with fries which can be refilled, which is a plus. My friend ordered a quesadilla which was alright. I think this place's main selling point is their burgers, but I appreciate how their menus have a bit some something for everyone. They also have TV's around the restaurant playing random clips of surfers and waves, which helps with their theme, but I wish would put actual TV anywhere else but the bar. read more

The food gets a 2. The bar gets a 4. Great selection of wide screen tv's to catch a game, and the taps are geared towards local beers and euro-brews. Only two taps were spewing garbage (ie Coors Light and Bud Light). The food wasn't bad. But it wasn't superior either. This is your average Islands, which is better than your average Applebees, which is better than your average Coco's, etc, etc. I'd say its a place everybody should try at least once. They have good burgers, good fries and a family friendly version of that 'surfer dude' atmosphere. The staff is always friendly, and the food has never taken 'forever' for me, though I always go there with good company, and never alone. Nino didn't seem to like it as a date atmosphere, but his date obviously liked the place, so its probably a personality thing. I like their burgers, I like the whole 'surf / skate / board culture', I like the friendly service, their prices aren't outrageous if realize you're not at Jack in the Box. We ate at this Red Robin yesterday with our Grandson. I ordered the new salmon with broccoli and coleslaw plus a side wedge salad. My food was very good, and my salmon was cooked well just how I asked Both my husband and grandson had cheese burgers. My husband asked for grilled onions and her said they put so many on his whole burger was almost soggy. My grandson said his was yummy. I had always been a fan of this place. But the last couple of years it seems that the flavor of the burgers has gone downhill and have also become too greasy. The chicken sandwiches however, have remained excellent. The cheese fries are great. I guess the main reason my affinity for Islands has subsided is they removed the Cabo Locos carnitas tacos from the menu. I loved these tacos. I would always start with a bowl of the tortilla soup. Me and my family been coming here for a long time food is always great... today out of all the times we've come to eat dinner here with my Autistic daughter we got a complaint from our waitress saying if I can ask my daughter to keep it down or else we would have to leave because the family behind us and next to us complained that she was really loud all she was doing was on her phone watching you tube videos and was signing to the videos she was watching , it was pretty loud in there with the people in the bar and surrounding areas, so I don't see why my daughter would of been an issue... I asked to speak to the manager and denied to talk to me, we weren't able to finish our dinner because we felt really uncomfortable so I asked the waitress for the bill and he came back with a smirk on his face... we felt so discriminated.. I find it not fair that we pay to go out to eat as a family with our disabled child and get treated this way.. I feel like no parent with a special child should go through this or get treated this way .. Autistic kids matter and should be able to go out and have dinner at any place With out having to deal with ignorant people, it's really sad that a lot of people don't understand and judge without knowing what is wrong with the child.. The customer service at this restaurant is the best I have ever experienced. My sister-in-law is allergic to black pepper (rare I know). It makes it extremely hard for her to eat out as most foods have black pepper. Carlos, the manager, was extremely accommodating. He offered to wipe down the grill so he can make my sister-in-law grilled chicken with no black pepper. Usually other restaurants have that sorry too bad attitude. Thank you so much Carlos for going above and beyond! Jackie, our waitress, was phenomenal! She was extremely attentive and kept checking up on us. Very friendly!! Carlos and Jacqui are the perfect example of what customer service should be everywhere! The food was also amazing. We had the Kilauea burger and the Beach Bowl. The burger was so juicy and flavorful no need to use ketchup. The fries were crispy and the onion rings had a flavorful crunch to them. My sister-in-law enjoyed her Beach Bowl.
