Although this was our first visit, the staff and other customers made us feel like we were at our own local bar. I really appreciated that the bartender checked in on us a few times to ensure our food was fine and to see if we needed more refills. The vibe is really laid back, which was perfect after spending a few hours at the beach. The menu is more like comfort-style food with plenty of burger and sandwiches options. For our meals, we went with a crab cake sandwich and a fish sandwich, both of which included a side. I thought the food was pretty good, and I have no major or minor complaints. Also, I thought the crab cake had a decent amount of lump crab (for the price). It was interesting (in a good way) that the sweet potato fries had a bit of cinnamon and sugar. While the fries were a bit sweet for me, I did not find them to be overly sugary. Also, Big Bats Cafe has plenty of speciality cocktails include an assortment of Crushes. Our price tag (without tip) was about $70 for two sandwich combo meals, three beers, and two cocktails. Well, it just happened to be their busiest day of the year: The Bikini Contest Finals, starting at 5:00 PM. Sadly for us (especially the guys), we would have to depart for our long boat ride back to Chestertown, meaning we were going to miss the bikini contest.
