It was a good place to keep all documentation, and it was efficient once the actual move started. IPM (Island Pet Movers) are amazing! They helped move my dogs and tortoise to Honolulu. Their constant and clear communication and support through out the process was a much needed relief during our move to the island. Especially with the scare of pet quarantine and permits for the tortoise. They were able to assist with all of it. I was able to be with my pets right after getting on island instead of possibly waiting months to see them. IPM coordinated 95% of everything (the other 5% is scheduling FAVN and the appointment with your vet), provided all the appropriate forms, submitted documents, and offered the correct "airline approved" kennel for my pets. They handled all the paperwork for me, just telling me exactly what to fill in on the agriculture forms. They filed the paperwork with agriculture from the island! They gave me a complete timeline of when and what exactly my dogs needed from the vet. They even mailed me airline regulation crates for my pups! When I was trying to figure out the timing and logistics of our flights, IPM provided their suggestions and booked both my dogs' flights AND reservations at a pet-inn near LAX who delivered my dogs to the airport for us. Helping me get all the paperwork organized and helping getting everything lines up so that quarantine was minimal. One dog was quarantined for one week. PROS: 1) Moving to Hawaii takes a lot of paperwork and preparation. IPM will walk you though the process, step by step. If you follow this process, you will not have any problems with the State of Hawaii or the cargo company used for the shipping. 2) The app used to communicate with you works well. You have to be patient as they only work M-F between normal business hours on HI time. You can take pictures of documents to upload them to the app, which makes it easy. CONS: 1) You will NEVER speak to a live human throughout the entire process, except when they deliver your pet to you at the end. ALL communication will and must go through the app. When it comes close to when your pet will fly, you will be given a phone number that is ONLY to be used in emergencies. When your pet's flight gets cancelled (which mine did), they will NOT call you. You can call the emergency number and someone will answer, but they will not work the problem with you over the phone and reassure you that all will be well. The person just refers you back to the app to solve the problem through the chat. This business model does not give the customer a "warm and fuzzy" when things go sideways. 2) If you express frustration at the situation through the app when things do go wrong, you will be called rude for wanting to talk to an individual. Then you will be told (through the chat app) that it's not their fault (even when you already know it's not) and also be told they are "helping you out" to solve the problem, when in fact you paid money for a service and they are just delivering the service you paid for. A simple phone call to the customer to put them at-ease and work the problem goes a long way. Which will not happen. read more

I used IPM back in 2016 to move my kitty from CO to HI and they handled all of the logistics to ordering the crate, shipping the crate, documents needed, ticket, explained the drop off process at the airport and delivered her to me in HI. Fast forward to 2021, I used their services again to move my dog & cat from HI to NYC. When I tell you they made the process stress free, that would be an understatement. Since the first time I worked with them they have an app on your phone. This app is amazing!!! It gives a consolidated place for communication between the client and the company as well as uploading all documents, asking any questions and a checklist for action items. I wasn't sure of the departure date for my fur babies and the team was responsive for waiting and when I did have a date, was able to book them inside 10 days. As I wouldn't have a car and didn't want the hassle of figuring out how to get them from the airport home, IPM was able to secure a delivery from JFK to Harlem. Huge weight off my shoulders! The best part is they created a separate conversation inside the app that included the deliver service. As I traveled a couple of days before the fur babies I needed to have another contact for pickup on the day of their flight. Great thing about the app, I was able to login the POC via my information so they were able to see all of the chat as well as participate. IPM communicates via the app when the driver is on the way so it made it very seamless. We even had a quick Q&A call prior to the pickup so any questions could be answered. IPM picked up the dog & kitty about five hours before their flight sending me a video of them at the airport, checked in and ready to go. This helped ease my concerns of them flying. They provide a flight tracker text for if the flight is on time, departure and landing. Upon arriving at JFK, the airline contacted me regarding pickup and I called the service booked without success of reaching someone. I felt horrible calling the emergency number at 3am HST knowing I was waking someone up. I don't recall the name of the lady ( I think Jess) who woke up to take my call but she was so polite and helped me not feel so bad about the early wake up. She promptly contacted the driver to info of the pets release and then responded via the app that the driver was there and would be on the way shortly. Whew, big sigh of relief! I received a call a few minutes later from the driver stating he had received them and would be on the way. About an hour later they finally arrived safe and sound. Anthony (I'm horrible with names) waiting while I took the kitty upstairs and had my dog outside of his crate when I came back down. He helped carry his 700 series crate up and was friendly the entire time. If you are relocating with your fur babies, I recommend checking out IPM. We had a phenomenal experience with this company. We shipped our two large dogs from Kaneohe to Stuttgart, Germany. The dogs had to land in Frankfurt though but Island Pet Movers pickup directions were very clear. We purchased their crates through the company and paid for pickup from our home. It was very easy. The dogs made it safe and sound. We did spend a considerable amount of them crate training our dogs so their stress would be reduced. I highly recommend that for these long flights. Our dogs did not need to be medicated, in fact, I think it's not allowed. They did not go to the bathroom inside their crates either. My only recommendation is a call consult. Or someone to answer a phone at the business. I had a lot of questions that I couldn't get answered prior to paying a deposit. I know there's a lot of information on their website but I would've liked to speak to a person early on. The app was good though and the company was responsive once I paid the deposit.
