After a lot of research I found Pampered Pets recommended from someone and I thought I would look into it. The price is very reasonable and the pets are allowed to roam all day which I like so that they are not cooped up in kennels for part of the day. My dog is a rescue dog, and he is very shy and I had not had him long when I needed to board him, and I found Deirdre at pampered pets and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is professional, courteous and treats your pets as if they were her own. She goes above and beyond. She kept me updated while I was away with pictures and how he was doing. I cannot recommend pampered pets enough. The office contact is quick and easy, and the price is so reasonable for what you get compared to doggy daycare places on the island. The pets at pampered pets will be in small groups and get the love and care that they deserve. Any time I go out of town, I will use pampered pets/ Deirdre. read more

We boarded our pet lovebird here for 20 days while we were on vacation. Previously we had house sitters come to take care of him in our home while we were away. Each time we came back from vacation in the past, he was depressed and would hide for 1-2 weeks. When we picked up our baby from Deirdre - he was so cheerful and happy! He had been housed with a cockatiel for company the entire time. He wasn't sad or depressed at all - there was no adjustment period. He seemed eager to tell us all about his new friend and all his good experiences. It was obvious they took excellent care of him and made him feel taken care of and safe. They sent us photo updates on him periodically. We will most definitely be bringing him back to pampered pets each time we go on vacation from now on! read more

Last December I had my two feline fur babies, Joji & Tabioca stay with Julie for about a week. Joji was a little over a year old and Tabioca was still under a year old. We recently found Tabioca in our garage in August, got all of her vaccines, shots, and tests all cleared before boarding her. I was a little worried because Tabioca has never interacted with other cats outside of her social circle in our house, but she didn't really well! She was able to get all the socialization as a kitten from her stay here. Julie was amazing! She had clear communication of what was needed and what was expected prior to boarding my two cats. She required documentation of all recent shots, flea medication, and any other medical history, which is something that I appreciated a lot. My cats and other cats safety is our number one priority. She was also very welcoming when we dropped my cats off. She showed us around the cat house, I felt very safe and secure knowing how much love and care was put into the area. There were so many different cat trees, cat beds, toys, and individual areas if some cats preferred to be alone. She was very thoughtful and explained the introduction process with our cats and the other cats. She explained that the first day our cats will be in their own space with a safe divider just so all the cats can familiarize themselves with each other. Then she goes off based on the interaction. If they react well then they open up the space for interaction. It it wasn't so well, then they can remain safely and comfortably in their own space! All the other cats staying with her were so sweet and you can tell that Julie showered all of them with love and really took care of them. Julie also kept us updated with pictures and videos of how our cats were doing and it really kept our piece of mind especially because we were out of the country. We live in Waianae so the drive was pretty far, but so totally worth it! I would recommend Julie in a heartbeat! I was referred to Julie from my coworker who also had a very pleasant experience with her. read more

I hate to write negative reviews, but this place is a sheer disappointment! The initial conversation over the phone with one of the home dog care provider was amiable. And I was frank with my little 9lb 16months who is adorable, very well trained, good behavior Chihuahua/minpin/jack Russell puppy to say he can *sometimes, about 20%* be protective of me to growl and bark at other dogs, a natural instinct. Even though he will never bite and will NOT do it when I'm not around. So Deidre accepted a 30min meet and greet for an evaluation. That's normal process they have even before a friendly phone call. I even offered a day care time or one overnight stay to see if he can behave well before the 4-day vacation I'm taking in July. So all was fine until I get a message from Esther (text admin/mgr or partner). And this is how Esther responded, "Thank you. Based on your conversation with Deidre we think Chippy would not be a good match for our home boarding ..looking at the other dogs that are already booked during those same dates .. the growling and barking in his nature could cause other dogs to respond with aggression .. so for his safety we would prefer not to board him. Thank you for contacting us. Please call Nalowinds they would be a better match." Huh!?? And checking out Yelp about Nalowinds. That seems like a horror house for puppies!!! We had such a great experience with Julie! From start to finish, communication was flawless. We did a meet and greet to make sure it was a good fit for our dog. Pampered Pets has strict policies on the health and wellness of your pet which was awesome because some places don't enforce these policies. Julie was amazing, I felt so comfortable leaving my furry family member with her. She was so attentive and loving to my dog, like he were her own! The home is cage free which is awesome, they have a fairly large sized yard for the dogs to play in. They have an enclosed porch for the pooches to stay on overnight, with cozy blankets and beds. Julie sent photos daily, ensuring Tyson had a great time. When we picked him up it was almost like he didn't want to leave. We will certainly be bringing Tyson back for future stays. My parents took our three dogs to Pampered Pets with the hope that they would have fun and be safe. And unfortunately two of our dogs got loose under Pampered Pets supervision. Sadly, one of them got hit by a car on the highway and died. Although Ann was sincere in her apology and accommodated my parents with a full-refund plus paid for the cremation of our beloved dog it still is a very upsetting circumstance. The days leading up to the accident the dogs did seem happy and Ann sent videos of them. The downside is that there is no 24-hour supervision, gates that are not securely locked and the property is so close to the main highway. Please be careful and ask the right questions when checking this establishment out. I would hate for anyone else to go through what my family is going through. read more

We love pampered pets! In the past we have had a negative experience with people taking care of our girl so we were nervous to board her. From the first initial phone call we had a good feeling. Julie knows what she is doing and is AMAZING with caring for dogs. We loved that she had countless gates around the property to ensure that our dog was safe. We were looking for a place that does not kennel as our dog does not do well kenneled. All of the dogs sleep and play together and our girl was able to make lots of other dog friends. She kept us updated at least every other day with photos and videos of our dog. We are so happy we had such a healthy and happy dog to come home to. You can really tell Julie loves what she does! Needed to go to the mainland to attend some high school graduations. I have a just-a-little-bit spoiled (but very sweet) 18-year old cockatiel who is very attached to me and my husband. And I'm a super careful birdie mom so leaving my baby with someone is a big concern to me. I've left our beloved birdie with Pampered Pets three times and are very happy with the accommodations and care. (Have another stay coming up soon) The bird room is large and airy and pleasant, like a little birdie-retreat. I bring my bird's own cage and Ann is happy to make a nice space for it. Boarded my two cats for a week for the first time and I'm so happy that I chose to take them to Pampered Pets! It's a further drive but so so worth it! We have a 28 year old cockatoo. When our sitter we used for years was no longer able to care for Kayla when we would travel, I found Pampered Pets. Kayla has stayed with Nick and Ester 3 times now. I cannot express how happy I have been with the love and care they have taken while caring for Kayla. Nick and Ester run things professionally, and combine their love of animals to provide the best care we have ever had for our bird. Our experience at Pampered Pets is wonderful each and every time that we have boarded our kitties. The first time we left our cat (we only had one at the time) with Ann, we were hesitant because we've never heard of cats being held in the same space as other cats. We worried about our cat, and contacted Ann while on our vacation. She assured us that our cat took a couple days to get comfortable, and by the third day he was enjoying his time with the other cats. She sent us videos and pictures of our cat which we felt was very thoughtful of her. When we picked up our cat he was happy and he actually kicked his habit of biting and scratching us while at Pampered Pets. Perhaps the older cats gave him a lesson on how to be a good cat? We were stumped and pleased. We got married on May 11, 2013 and decided to board our cat and our newly adopted kitten who was ~7-8 weeks at the time of boarding. He was a mere 2-3lbs and we were worried that the older cats would gang up on him. Ann assured us that he'd be just fine which put us at ease. When we picked them up a few days later, both cats were happy and healthy. Our honeymoon was the week later, and we again boarded both cats for 1.5 weeks. Knowing that they were in a safe and loving place made it so much easier to have fun away from home. We will definitely recommend Pampered Pets to anyone in need of cat/dog boarding. We couldn't be more pleased and happy with the level of care and service that is provided to our babies by Ann. She's amazing and we are so glad that we found her. The BEST!!!! Ann is so nice. I love what she does for us pet owners. The dogs were so happy during their stay. There is no boarding which I love. The dogs can be dogs. We were out for ten days. I was not worried about them one bit. We missed a flight and they had to stay an extra night and she accomodated. She sent photo updates to the cell also. We had one of our dogs stay at Tails of Hawaii in Waipahu before and she came back much thinner. Didnt like it. Place smelt like amonia. So I am happy we found this place. Military Discount. This place was good for taking care of my pet. I did not have to deal with the personnel too much only when I dropped her off and picked up. Mostly calls, text , and email. Although, with the conversations I had with them, they are really nice and seem to care and are looking out for the health and comfort of our pet. It seemed like a good place to leave your dogs, there were a few of them when I was around and they were all running around and pretty chill. The place is not huge but it's still pretty comfortable with room for multiple animals. Overall, I it's a great place to have your animal, my guinea pig was fine after staying here, I think she even liked it as a little vacation being able to hear the other animals around her. We left our two cats at pampered pets for a little over a month while we did some traveling and prepared to move to the mainland. After our experience, I could not recommend Anne more! The place is clean with lots of enrichment toys so that the cats don't get bored. I'm so happy that going on vacation doesn't mean that my cats are stuck in a cage! Anne was flexible with scheduling and worked around us. For a small fee, she took the cats to the veterinarian for their airline health certificates. My favorite part was the text/email picture updates showing just how content my babies were while staying at pampered pets! This is clearly more than just a business to Anne. We kept our dog with Deidre for over two years through Pampered Pets. We always felt like she was in such good hands. They really made her a part of their family. It's always tough leaving a pet behind while you travel but after the first time our dog stayed there she was always so excited when we dropped her off. This place is fantastic. My husband and I rescued two feral kittens and had coworkers watch them once while we went and visited ailing family in Florida. One of the kittens decided to rejoin the wild in the most forceful way possible (broke a window screen to earn his freedom) and thereafter we wanted to find professional boarding for our remaining cat, Max. We had some criteria: Space and stimulation, and the presence of other cats. Now that young Max was an only child, we wanted him to keep up on his socializing in case we decided to adopt him a friend. Pampered Pets had all of that and more! I like to joke that my cat had better staycations than I did when we lived in Hawaii. The location is gorgeous and the grounds are jungle-covered and cool. It's an absolutely lovely property near the beach. The dogs and cats are kept separate enough that they don't bother each other, which was important to me during later stays as poor Max had been mauled by a pitbull who had broken into our yard to get him during his exercise time (if you can't tell, our cat is a 1% cat, he's better treated than some people's children). The cat house is exactly that. It's a fair-sized single-room building reminiscent of a cabana with a large people bed and plenty of toys and territory for each cat. They start out their stay in deep kennels with food, water, and places to hide as they learn to socialize with their fellow house guests. The entry door to the cabana is a sort of "man-trap" design with two layers of defense to dissuade escape artists. For worry-warts, like me, they even send update emails and pictures while you're away. Everyone at Pampered Pets is fantastic with the animals, the price is EXTREMELY reasonable, and there are even discounts for military and longer stays (heads up for those of you that might get deployed and don't want to sell off your furry family members because of it), and they even offer services to help you get your pets off the island if you end up moving, another bit perk for military members like myself. To be honest, I probably would have lived in the cat cabana with Max for a few weeks if given the option and I totally understood when he was reluctant to leave. Now that I've left Hawaii, I'm trying to find a boarding facility as wonderful as Pampered Pets, and I just don't think anything measures up! I've been spoiled, too! If you need pet boarding, don't even hesitate to book with Pampered Pets, you definitely won't regret it! read more

My dog, Chancho, was so well taken care of during his stay with Esther in Kaneohe with Pampered Pets. He figured out right away how he was free to go in and out of the house as needed and was very safe doing so. She has several safety procedures in place so dogs cannot escape in any way.
