5 stars for Glenn and Island Lock & Safe. I contacted Glenn about an issue with a Kaba lock on the front door of a condo in Napili, and he responded right away. He clearly explained my options, what he recommended, and the reasoning behind his recommendation. He was able to come out within just a few hours and took care of everything. Glenn was professional, knowledgeable, easy to work with, and communicated well throughout the process. His pricing was also very clear upfront, and the final bill actually came in slightly under his estimate. It's not always easy finding someone who is responsive, reliable, and does exactly what they say they're going to do. I had a great experience with Glenn and wouldn't hesitate to call Island Lock & Safe again. Highly recommended! read more

Glenn was so easy to work with and did the work quickly. He communicated well with us and was simply a good guy. I highly recommend!

Excellent service! I called them to rekey three locks. I ended up having him help me with multiple locks. He was professional, on time , efficient, with fair pricing. He even helped me figure out what to order to lock off an exterior double gate. His office manager was amazing, helpful and courteous. read more

Glen and Lorrie are so awesome! I am never disappointed with their service and professionalism. I always go to them for any lock outs, key replacements (we lose keys a lot lol) hard and digital keys, safes and lock boxes. You name it they got it and they are the most honest people and will tell you always be up front with their prices. If you are ever in need of service please check out Island lock and Safe. No aloha. I cannot believe how many positive reviews are listed here. I spoke with their office manager or scheduler Lorene who provided amazingly bad customer service. She had bite and kept talking over me every time I tried to say or explain something, and she did that during every conversation. She put me on their schedule, but then forgot and said she didn't have me on their schedule. I told her we had it scheduled and I drove all the way across the island to meet them only for her to tell me "oh yeah I remember" but they still wouldn't be able to make it because of other jobs taking priority and running late, and if I wanted to schedule an exact time in the future or have them come by later that day, it would cost me extra for the service call. She literally couldn't have cared less and made everything sound like it was a huge inconvenience. THE.WORST. read more

Extremely unprofessional, and very rude lock-maker. He wrongly made the key we needed, broke the ignition in the process with his messed up key and demanded us to pay full price for not only his broken key but also "his time." After finding a spare randomly stored away he was adamant to continue trying the key he's made, triggered a close out mechanism in the ignition and ceased the car from starting. Wouldn't fix it without the full verbally agreed cost. read more

Glenn and Lorene are the best! They helped me get my car out of Wahikuli after the Lahaina wildfire destroyed my neighborhood (& town) somehow leaving my car untouched. They opened my locked car, made me a key, and programmed it on the spot in the impact zone. They wouldn't take any money from me and told me they just wanted to help those affected by the fires. I later found out they also lost their business and home. What incredible people helping our community when they too lost so much. They've always been my go-to for key copies but after this, I will never use anyone else! A million mahalos Glenn and Lorene! True aloha! read more

Great service and even better people! Mahalo Island Lock and Safe for getting new keys made for us quickly!!

The bedroom door at our Airbnb was jammed shut with all our medications and belongs shut inside the bedroom. We had an early flight to catch and building maintenance was unavailable. Glen arrived within 30 minutes and diligently worked with many tools to remove the broken handle. Saved the day! Very professional! MAHALO read more

They came to our rescue in 10 minutes and on a weekend after my daughter licked all of our sets of keys in the car.

The Short: Rarely does a day go from horribly stressful to downright wonderful so effortlessly. Don't bother with more researching. Call the crew over at Island Lock & Safe and let them put their magic hands to work. The Long: I locked a $300 set of rental keys in the trunk. As you probably already know, being able to drive is critical to exploring Maui. I called Ray, he gave me an incredibly reasonable quote, and literally they got my situation resolved within 30 minutes. My technician was Glenn. He went out of his way to teach me how to break into my own car! I even know more about the locksmith industry now. It was so much fun! read more

I needed a fob and key for my Jeep Cherokee, they quoted a price for generic fob, Glenn found out that fob would not work for my Jeep, he acquired manufactures replacement which was about double the cost. I tried to pay him for the upgrade and Glenn would not except more money, said he gave a price to do a job and that's would it cost. Highly recommend this company. read more

Island lock & safe have been great with us. Our Knox lock had problems, they lent us the insides for that safe while they sent ours back to the factory. We were off island and we had theirs for almost 9 months. Now we bought another safe and are unable to set the lock and they are helping us. Been very helpful and patient with us read more

Island Lock & Safe has come to the rescue twice for us now. Great customer service, great advice and we so appreciate the expertise. Our keyless entry failed and we had guests who were locked out, so you can imagine how much we appreciated Glen and Lorene and their quick response and diligence. We hope we won't need them again but we know they are there! Dave and Cheryl read more

Island Lock & Smith was extremely willing to help us out today since my wife decided to lock our rental keys in the car while snorkeling.... They promised to get to our car in 30-40 minutes and it took about 35 for them to get there. While waiting I decided to try my luck at getting the door open and was successful at 36 minutes just as the guy showed up! Even though they didn't have to help out, I offered up money to justify their trip out on a Saturday afternoon. Great service and super helpful! Don't lock your keys in the car!! read more

I went inside to get a copy of a key made. Mind you I brought my own blank key for the original key to be copied onto. The lady inside the store then proceeded to tell me that it would be 35$ if her key copying machine worked or didn't work! I then told her that that doesn't sound fair at all. She said it's that way because "the machine is doing the work either way." Either way?! Even if her machine breaks my blank, that I brought in!? Wow I was baffled. Definitely not a fair business. Take your keys to get copied some place else, read more

Island lock and safe saved me when no other locksmith would. I lost my keys on the beach in kaanapali at 5pm on a friday and all other companies made excuses like there's too much traffic and it's too late in the day. Island lock is in lahaina (by the way all the other locksmiths said there is no locksmith in lahaina) and came over as soon as they were done with the job they were on. Had my car unlocked and the lock out to make me a key in no time. They insisted on giving me a spare and my code so I'll never have this problem again. Thank you island lock and safe. If it wasn't for you I would be been stuck sleeping on the beach! read more

I needed new entry hardware put on my front door. I stopped in at Island Lock & Safe office in Lahaina and showed them a picture of the existing hardware. They had exactly what my door needed in stock. Set up a schedule for installation. Showed up when they said they would. Professional custom installation. Works as expected. Only negative is it was expensive. Recommended. read more

Wow! This company is amazing! They were so nice and helpful starting with our phone call with needing a locksmith to come out and get the broken key out of our ignition from somebody trying to steal our car. They kept in contact with us and let us know they would be out the next day in the morning. That morning, they let us know again approximately what time. Then Ray called to let us know the time he will be exactly at our place. And he was exactly at our place at that time. He made sure that our car was not only taken care of, but safe. This is truly our go to locksmith if needed again. The other thing that was shocking to us was the fact that they didn't overcharge. You definitely will not be questioning yourself after using island lock and safe. read more

This guy was my hero last night! I work in Lahaina area and live in Haiku, my key broke as i was unlocking my door! I'm new to Maui and don't have friends in Lahaina area yet so I was stranded in the rain without help. Glenn zoomed over within 10 minutes, made me a new key in 2 minutes flat and off I went :-) Best customer service, can't rave enough about it! read more

Some of the contractors my family has tried to work with over the years in Maui have been on "island time." Island Lock and Key is not-- they are responsive, have great service, and I would use them again any time (even at home in San Francisco.) William came the day we called even though we had not set up a time just to see if we were available. When we weren't there, they called back and came right away when we called them! Saved my vacation. pulled the stupid tourist trick of locking the rental keys in the trunk on the last day of vacation and no amount of tugging, pleading or allout cursing was gonna get the damn keys out. Something about the particular car was made like friggin fort knox in the particular year and model we chose. It was just a fun as it sounds. URGH!! So anyways, island lock was recommended and they were much cheaper than the car rental's insurance and the guy was really cool and busted out the keys in no time. would definitely recommend! read more

When I came back from California, I could not unlock my minivan door. I repeated more than 10 times. After I failed, I found Island Lock & Safe in Internet who had 4.5 starts. WHEN I called them, the response was great. The answer was, "A technician will call me in 30 minutes. Yes, he did in 30 minutes. When he came to my place, he had the magic hand. He unlocked the door within 30 seconds. Per him, the lock mechanism does not have the smooth movement since the car is 12 years old and the key did wear-out. I was extremely happy even though he apologized to charge $80. I had more than $80 happiness. I will use them again. read more

The owner came on his day off to help my boyfriend when he could no longer get his key into his old school car. It was done with efficiency, kindness, and now it works like a charm. They are not customer service oriented. They are inconsistent with payment processing. As well as don't take credit cards unless there's a minimum purchase on top of charging a 4% surcharge. read more

Had a terrible experience with this company. I was quoted two prices for keys. One for a chip key, and the other for a non chip key. I ended up having a chip key, but they charged me $40 more than the quoted chip key price. The key no longer works (faulted chip). I called back and the locksmith refused to even look at the key unless I gave him $100. I cannot drive my car again, as they refuse to correct the key as a courtesy due to defect. He spoke very poorly to me on the phone when I objected. The company has very poor ethics and customer service. read more
