Randy and the crew have always done a great job for me and my family. They are great at what they do and they are responsive. On top of that they've always been very nice. I've never had a single issue or complaint relating to anything. I highly recommend them. read more

Got home and key broke off in ignition. Guys were there within 20 minutes, and in no time had the fragment pulled out. Old truck good as new -- at least the ignition. Fast, friendly, and funny. If it was later in the day beers would have been involved. Have used them before and will continue to support them. read more

Great company to work with locally. They were super responsive! I locked our keys in our condo, and I panicked. I called our site manager, and he suggested "808". They came to unlock our place but had an issue with our lock. (a brand new lock version, I guess, and almost unlock proof!) No problem there because the nice guy had a backup and the owner came immediately to help. We couldn't have been happier. Problem solved! read more

I called 808 Safe House because I thought I needed a locksmith for our front door Kaba lock. Randy was kind and patient enough to walk me through, over the phone, what I could do to try to resolve the problem myself. It worked! It saved us $320! I love when a business knows how to attract and keep customers, by focusing on them, not just making money. I know the next time I do need a locksmith who I'll be calling and who I will be recommending to others. Thanks Randy! read more

The owner Randy have no customer service experience. He is so rude on the phone. He will yell at you on the phone and have no manners. He's got the wrong industry. read more

Very fast and friendly service. I called ahead to make sure that they had what we needed. Before stopping in, was given directions on where they are located and also best place to park. Within 15 minutes I was in and out of their store. It really only took that long because I was talking story so long with them. :) Friendly, affordable and fast. They also have some interesting safes and other items for sale in here. I say interesting because the size on some of them could be more like "vaults". read more

My key casing broke when I turned on the ignition rendering my key almost useless and they were able to provide a new clamshell and cut the blank. I was back in business in no time! Mahalo! read more

I have used this company on a regular basis. And tonight my stolen and recovered safe with my valuables were brought back to me. The Maui police were here and needed to get it opened to see what was still in it. They took over 20 minutes to get here and when they Showed up I explained that I had been robbed and had put a stop on all my credit cards and asked if he could bill me.. He said no and threatened to leave if I didn't pay in cash $175. I was able to find some some cash that I had got from the bank today. He never gave me a receipt for the work. Said he would email it to me but never asked for my email address. I have done thousands of dollars of business with company but I will never do business with them again. Shady shady. read more

Horrendous!!! I called to reschedule my appointment with them and thE guy who answered yelled at me "YOU DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO!!!" I cancelled my appointment and will use someone else for my lock needs. I'm sure the next person will take my $1,000+ read more

Great company great team. Great attitude, helpful and reasonable [fair, not broke the bank] priced. Their whole crew is neatly dressed. their shop smells wonderful too when you walk in :). NO potty mouths either, extremely courteous and well mannered. Glad they are in Kihei. read more

Received major attitude for a simple procedure. Lots of businesses to spend money at on island where you wont be treated like you're a burden when you're the customer. Went to another locksmith on island, same price, simple procedure, without the attitude. I am happy that they're so busy that they can treat customers like garbage and still stay in business. read more

This company was awesome to deal with! They answered there phones right away and came out quickly to fix our door that wouldn't open because the lock got stuck!! So we couldn't get in or out of our condo unless we went through the lanai. They were great to deal with professional and courteous! We will definitely use them again if there's any problems with our locks. read more

Great service! We locked our key in the van and this was the only company that answered our call! He was on site in 15-minutes and was super friendly & efficient. Grateful! read more

Randy and his crew were great. I had two issues that needed a locksmith when we moved to the island and they went above and beyond with their customer service. It's a family owned business and they take care of their customers. I highly recommend them! read more

Went here to get one key made for a Dodge 2005 Grand Carvan. They had to special order it from mainland and they told me they would call me when it came in. After a couple weeks having not heard from them I stopped in to see if the key had arrived. It had but they told me it would take 30 minutes to get code set on key with the Dodge. I didn't have time so made appointment for the next available time. Three visits/ attempts later they inform me the car needs to go to dealership in order to get car reset to get a key to work. Out $140 dollars and a bunnch of my time. I do not recommend this locksmith for any automotive 'chip' keys. read more

First off, if you live in Kihei, support local businessman so they stay here and are handy for us. This is a great company. Real aloha attitude. Friendly, helpful people on the phone. Even though they have mobile units ready to roll anywhere, they are not just working out of a van like some lock companies. 808 Safehouse also has a fully-stocked store on Lipoa St. in Kihei with the same friendly and helpful atmosphere including not being afraid to give you free advice on how to solve a problem without trying to sell you something. For any lock or key problem, make 808 in Kihei your go-to guys! read more

We had an after-hours emergency (baby locked in a car). The locksmith picked up the phone right away and was on his way within minutes! The fire department arrived quicker and were able to get in shortly before the locksmith arrived, so I called to cancel. He didn't charge us anything and was very kind and understanding. Thank you so much for your professionalism and for your kindness!!! read more

My in-room safe died and my condo manager called 808. They were very professional and extremely courteous. I would recommend them every time. Thank you Randy. read more

Randy was so kind, polite, and prompt when I locked my keys in my office! I was so mad at myself for doing that and he was very understanding. I am very grateful for his service and fair pricing. read more

They installed a lock on our front door that the screen handle hits and won't close. Then the handle gets stuck on the lock. It doesn't fit where they installed it. It is a rental and someone will keep trying to close the screen door and bust the lock. When asked about their poor installation, the answer was hey, if the lock works were fine with it. End of story, we can't help you. Beware. read more

If you're looking for a lock company that exudes quality on every level --professional, courteous, knowledgeable and decently priced -- go no further. These people are wonderful to deal with; they obviously love what they're doing and it's service with a smile, professionally and quickly. They have shelves and shelves of locks, keys and inventory and are equipped to handle any job- whether it's fixing that complicated lock at the office, duplicating the key that the local hardware store didn't have-- or selling you that perfect key holder, trinket or Velcro hide-a-key for your vehicle. Keep their phone number. I'm sure they'll be there to take care of any key or lock situation that would come up to your total satisfaction. I've been on Maui 14 years, and I highly recommend this company! read more

Great friendly service and super easy to work with!! Randall helped us unlock the car and was there quickly and got the car open so fast!! Best prices too - I called around before confirming the appointment. Highly recommended!!! read more

VERY DISAPPOINTED! Their website says 24/7 service but when I called them around 7 pm they picked up then hung up immediately. Thinking it must have been a mistake I called back only to be hung up on again. If you're not a 24/7 business don't claim to be. Also, you could simply say you're not available or just not answer instead of hanging up on someone who is probably already upset about a situation they're hoping you can fix. read more

After a bumpy start with the company, Ryan arrived. We wanted a digital front door lock and in addition a dead bolt replaced. Ryan was pleasant, did a great job and cleaned up. I went to enjoy a nice breakfast out on my lanai on a Saturday morning and inadvertently ended up locking myself out of my house. My front door was locked, and I had no key hidden or with my neighbors. After some calling around, I ended up with Randy, the owner of 808 Safe House, on the phone. Within fifteen minutes, Randy was at my apartment, and within another 45 seconds I was back inside my home. On top of saving the day in an incredibly small amount of time, his rate was completely reasonable. Locking myself out was unfortunate, but I'm glad to have gained the knowledge of where to find the best locksmith in town. Great guy that (according to his card) has been doing this for over 20 years, and it shows! read more

Fast response, and speedy service. I was worried because today was a holiday, but the gentleman who helped me was kind and courteous. If I ever need lockout service, I'll definitely give them a call again..... but let's just hope that's not anytime soon. They are also very decently priced . read more

Scam. Charged me $200 to unlock my older model truck. This job is not more than $80. He was rude before he even gave me the price.

Worst customer service I have ever seen. Broke a key in ignition they said they could fix it. Took 7 hours and 2 calls to get them to show up. Pulled the key out in 5 minutes and made 3 new keys that don't work, charged me $200 and when I called back the guy told me oh well he did me a favor !!! He even said "well how about I come down and break the key off in the ignition again" Biggest ripoff on the southside. I have never written a bad review but this guy was unbelievable ! If you have needs go somewhere else cause this guy just wants your $$$. If you can't do the job don't take people's money. read more

Randy is extremely knowledgeable and professional. Got the job done right with excellent customer service.

So after my regrettable phone experience with the owner that resulted in the above review, I contacted the original contractor for my keyless entry locks (Rob Wengel of Secure Lodging Systems, who subcontracts with 808 Safe House). Rob was awesome, apologized for the rude treatment I had received and intervened on my behalf. The locksmiths from 808 came out the next day--and to be fair these guys themselves have always been friendly and professional--and fixed the problem free of charge. They also taught me a bit about troubleshooting the locks in the future. So, the end result is that the problem got fixed in a timely manner and 808 Safe House ended up warrantying their work. It was just too bad it didn't happen in a more straightforward and congenial way. read more
