These bagels are tasty. Only order a single serving of cream cheese. A single serving is enough for several bagels. Very relaxing place to have coffee.

Everything bagel with cream cheese

Island bagel has a large selection of bagels and sandwich options. We all got an everything bagel and it was good but needed salt in my opinion. I loved all the art on the walls and the staff was very nice!

This is my $2.20 bagel with a Schmear Of $3.20 nonexistent cream cheese.

Bagels are good but their prices are absolutely ridiculous. A bagel is $2.20. If you want cream cheese, it is an additional $3.20!! they barely put any cream cheese on the bagel. I believe they have new ownership over the past year or so. It used to be packed. There was no one in the place today.

The bagels were fresh and delicious. We arrived around 11 am and they were sold out of a lot of their specialty bagels. The bagels that they did have were tasty! Lots of great options.

Bacon egg cheese

I had a nice BEC (bacon egg cheese) from here. I like that it was (at least for me) the perfect amount of egg and bacon in every bite and the sandwich wasn't too thick. Also, I believe the bacon was freshly prepared on a stove top which is an added bonus (no microwave bacon). There are a variety of cheeses to choose from- I had cheddar. The bagels themselves are good. We found the elusive chocolate chip bagel that is almost impossible to get these days. While we were excited about the find, we did note that the bagel was lacking a hardy amount of chocolate chips. I took my order to go and everything was well wrapped by the time we made it to our hotel 10 minutes later. I definitely recommend for a casual quick bite in the beach area!

Look at this yummy egg and cheese sandwich - the bagel was thin, crispy, and one of the best I've ever had!

As simple as it was, Island Bagels was my favorite breakfast place while visiting Carolina Beach. We did a to-go order one weekday morning. Since we had our dog, I stayed outside with her while my husband placed our order. While we were waiting for our order, one of the staff brought out a small bowl of water for our dog, as well as a dog treat (Beggin' Strips). How sweet and thoughtful! I got a jalapeño-cheddar bagel with egg and cheese, and my husband had their King Neptune. Their bagels are big and yet thin, and just perfect for egg sandwiches. My bagel was nicely crispy and had a ton of flavor, and the egg and cheese were just perfect. I eat lower carb nowadays, but this bagel was most definitely carb-worthy! My husband loved his King Neptune. It looked like such a mishmash to me (with eggs, provolone, bacon, sausage, cream cheese, jalapeño, onion, and hot sauce), but he said the flavors melded quite well. The bagels and service were outstanding. We would absolutely return if we ever revisit Carolina Beach!

Bacon "egg" & cheese

They used to be good but now they use those fake, gross microwaved eggs like Dunkin' Donuts does. The quality has gone way down. Really disappointing.

I was so excited to try this place! Menu and display are 5/5. Staff were 5/5. The food was 3/5 though. It's really nothing to rav about- given you can make a better one at home. I got a French toast bagel sandwich with egg, cheddar, and sausage. I did like that they had multiple cheese and meat options!!! You don't see that very often. The sandwich though was fine. Literally fine. I was going to take a middle pic of it folded open, but the insides were so flat that there was hardly anything to it. Flavor was 4/5. Egg was a bleh diner egg. Sausage was fine. Honey walnut cream cheese was delicious.

Really good bagels and bagel sandwiches. It is a small place so it might be difficult to find a table. Service is good. Overall good breakfast before heading to the beach.

Tasty, but nothing extraordinary. The breakfast sandwiches were good and inside was nice with plenty of seating.

Wow! What a find! This was actually pick five after walking around Carolina Beach looking for breakfast. We got a late start and walked the resort, places were either closed or wait line too long. After four stops we decided to get into our car and drive to Island Bagel. We were so glad! These bagels are melt in your mouth delicious! Cream cheese (if requested) is generous, I actually had to ask them to cut back on day two. This is one of the former Mr. Bagel Meisters. They were franchises and each was purchased by the owners. If you're in Carolina Beach, stop in, if you like bagels, you'll not be disappointed! Closed Wednesdays!

Bacon, egg & cheddar cheese on an Asiago bagel

Absolute BEST bagels I have had so far!! Walked in and immediately was greeted! The bagel wall is a must see for bagel lovers ! Donna was at the register & she was so welcoming and helpful. Told her I was a first timer and her eyes light Ike it's joy and helped me. Decided on a bacon, egg and cheddar cheese on a Asiago Bagel. Mannnn! The order was done fast, sandwich was hot and toasty and the cheese was Ouuie & gooie! Bacon crisped to perfection too. There are gluten free option btw. The bagels aren't huge and thick. They're basically perfect one every way! For my sandwich and a bottled drink it was $10.50. As I sat inside to eat, Donna came by and offered me a sample of the Everything Bagel. Best everything bagel I've had! I've definitely had different everything bagels but this one was like no other! Defff gonna be coming back !! Highly recommend

We got an Airbnb nearby and my hubby wanted me to try this place because it's super busy on weekends. We got here on a Monday morning the last week of April and it was busy in the patio area. Kid-friendly, dog-friendly and the view was great! The food & service was great too! I forgot the server's name but she was really nice and recommended yummy items. Must try it all! I can't remember what I got to eat but the mimosa was delicious. Just ask the server what they recommend.

We were quick to notice that mimosas were on special for just three dollars. They were basically goblets of mimosa and they had four flavors to choose from. I went with the strawberry and also got to try the pineapple. Absolutely delicious! The all-American breakfast was nice. I liked the great big pancake. The potatoes were kind of simple, but we're cooked all the way. Also, I asked for my bacon to be crispy and they definitely delivered on that. Service was friendly, but not super attentive. We were only checked on at the beginning for drinks, when they brought out our food, and then we ended up waiting a bit to get the check. We would've ordered more mimosas, but I think they may have been slightly understaffed. There are definitely better brunch options in Wilmington, but this place had no wait on a busy weekend and I was happy with the food. If you are a brunch person, this place delivers in terms of being really big with lots of seating and having a lot of brunch menu items.

I arrived when they had just opened the doors at 0630 and everyone was so kind. I got the hurricane omelet, home fries, French toast, and a side of bacon. Perhaps some of the best pancakes I've ever had. They had nuts in them and were perfectly spiced. 10/10. Red velvet was good, the cream cheese icing was quite tasty but they weren't anything too special. And the apple pancake was my least favorite; the apple filling on top tasted like it came from a can. Super sweet and didn't taste fresh. But the pancake itself was still good. This place does not take reservations and I was told the line goes out the door in the summer. There was a large line even while we were there in the off season during a storm. So if you want to eat here on a weekend, or the weather is nice, proceed with caution and be prepared to wait (standing outside--there is no seating while you wait).

Fortunately, it was the Sunday after Thanksgiving, and we arrived comfortably after Beach Church. My son said the fried chicken was the "best he'd ever had," and he's had a lot. He wanted french toast and was going to have a side of chicken until his wife ordered chicken & waffles, which claimed two chicken breasts. Those *two* seemed to be the size of a whole chicken or more and there was plenty to share and take home. Another order of the blueberry pancakes was only half eaten. The service was fantastic, speedy and friendly, with plenty of drink refills and extras. Later in the breakfast shift, the very friendly owner came out and socialized a bit. He said the secret to his fried chicken recipe came from his great aunt, but it was imperative to use fresh, never frozen chicken. Our combined families usually spend a summer week at a beach location farther south, but it will be tough to pass up OVKB22 the next time we are near Southport or Wilmington. There were 4 parking spaces in front which did not require payment. Luckily, one was open or we would have gone elsewhere. The shrimp basket had a dozen shrimp or so, some hidden under the fries in the pic. They were battered pretty thickly, much thicker than Calabash restaurants. They were OK, but again, lots of batter. The slaw was good, and there was twice as much of it as there was at the Sandspur two days before. The fries were overly salty. The shrimp tacos were reported to be good, but my wife could not eat the french fries because of the salt. The service was good, and she refilled our water before they were empty, which was a good thing because the fries were so salty. When the check came, there was a convenience fee added on. I hate restaurants that add this fee. This fee was not mentioned on the front door or on the menu that I can see. I had pictures of both the door and the menu and posted them here. It was a 3% fee for credit cards before they asked if I would pay with cash or credit. The lady said "Oh, I will take that off if you are paying with cash." and did so. They also had a line for rounding to the nearest nickel. This may only apply if a customer pays cash. It makes no sense on a credit card payment. If they charge 2c more, that means the $13.99 shrimp basket was $14.00 and the $15.99 shrimp tacos were $16.00. It seems unbelievably cheap to round to the nearest nickel instead of rounding down to the nearest nickel. Are there even 50 customers per day who pay in cash? Probably half the tickets will round down anyway. If you round down by 4c on 25 tickets, it's a whole $1 off the gross for the day. Is that dollar worth leaving a bad impression with 25 customers? If the food was better and they got rid of the credit card fee, or at least notified in advance that they charged one, we might return if there was a free parking space available. If they cut back on the salt on the fries, they might save enough to not worry about rounding cash tickets.
