Ice cream handcrafted organic seasonal ice cream with an array of flavors every month. Today I'm having salted caramel double scoop on a sugar cone. Excuse me I mean a waffle cone excuse me maybe I made one of each lol. You can taste the quality in the flavor immediately, they use great ingredients. You can taste it and save it from beginning to end.

The ice cream here was great: 4.7: Chocolate. Dark and complex. But lots of stabilizers: Gloopy and thick. But good meltdown. 4.6: Vanilla. Very strong flavor. Less gloopy than chocolate. They have a Pozzetti counter: lids cover each flavor. That keeps the temperature more constant.

Great little ice cream shop in the heart of the picturesque shopping/dining district at the top of Solano Avenue with many really imaginative flavors. In here, you'll find a classic yet contemporary ice cream shop chill kind of aesthetic with tables and chairs near the windows to enjoy your dessert. The 1950's style wire-back chairs with solid round marble tables create the perfect environment to sit around and enjoy your treats. Behind the counter, you'll encounter super friendly terrific service that is sample-forward!! They really want you to try a couple of flavors before choosing! Well, alrighty then! Bring it on! =) I tried the Mint Chip (on point), Meyer Lemon (Awesome!), Valencia Orange (so nostalgic to me) and the Banana Oreo (def for next time)! They have handmade waffle cones for an extra $1.50, or you can just have your order served in the default cone or a paper cup. I settled for the Meyer Lemon in a cup, but they gave me a little bit of the Valencia Orange because I felt that was pretty good too. The actual ice cream yes, was very creamy and good. The Meyer Lemon ice cream stood head and shoulders above all the other flavors I tried that day. PRO TIPS: 1) TRY the Waffle Cone - plain or chocolate! 2) Know that every cup does get a little triangular waffle wafer, and my wafer was still warm yet crunchy and delicate to the touch. It was exquisite! Yes, I definitely will be back to try whatever the new flavors are next time I'm in town!

My favorite lil ice cream shop! I've been going here with my family since I was younger, and it's still my go to place for a sweet treat. Their flavors and comp waffle chips never disappoint :) I don't need too much so the kids scoop is usually perfect for me!

First time going to iScream! I went on a Saturday night. The shop is small but cozy. I was able to try a flew favors before landing on the coffee and apple double scoop! I went with a cone and loved it! All in, my ice cream was about $9. The staff was great and very helpful! There is some seating inside. Parking can be challenging but you'll probably find something. I'll be back again!

    Honey lavender and earl grey

I've gone back to I-Scream a few times since the last review, and gotten to try the blueberry, creme brulee, honey lavender, and earl grey during those visits. I enjoyed all of those flavors, and earl grey was probably the least sweet out of those, whereas the blueberry and creme brulee are definitely very sweet and the honey lavender is definitely fairly heavy on the sweetness from the honey even though the lavender flavor also comes out strongly enough. Overall, I still consider Mexican chocolate to be my top favorite flavor here due to the richness, density, texture, and spice flavor, but I also do make sure to have their tea flavors or lavender when I see it on the menu. I'd suggest checking their website or Instagram ahead of time to know what flavors are currently available. I had the chocolate cone one of the times which I thought was yummy, fresh, and crunchy. However, if you get their ice cream in a cup, they still include small triangle pieces of waffle cone, which I find to be a fun touch and unique to I-Scream. The last time I visited, I-Scream had added some indoor tables, but there continues to be a small amount of outdoor seating, and there are certainly other benches you can sit down at if you just walk a little ways down Solano. Definitely still among my top favorite ice cream places in terms of the quality of flavors, and I would say they also give a decent amount of ice cream for the price, so I also consider it to be good value overall for the money.

Honey lavender is my favorite flavor here. Really friendly workers and they encourage samples. $9 for two scoops on a waffle cone is pretty standard for fancy Bay Area ice cream. Their scoops are creamy but they do have more ice crystals and are colder than maybe a custard or other more dense ice cream. Lots of other shops and restaurants on Solano as well so it's a nice treat after dinner or while out shopping.

Best ice cream place in Berkeley!! The ice cream is delicious and addicting! You can tell it's always made fresh! The staff is always super friendly too.

I love how the ice cream is smooth & the flavors are bold but not overbearing. I'm in love with the salted caramel!

Hello! When are you guys going to make crime brûlée or burnt caramel? Pls oh pls bring those flavors back. Thank you!

The food was always good, but the service was never particularly warm--polite, efficient, and impersonal, like a well-drilled operation. Today we took a twenty-minute ride with our six-week-old baby for one last visit before they close for good. We arrived before their advertised closing time, yet were coldly denied service. There was no one waiting behind us, but we were met with an inflexible, robotic "sorry, we're closed." No one was overtly rude, but the interaction felt rigid and mechanical, as if following procedure mattered more than acknowledging the people standing in front of them. It would not have taken much effort to accept one last order from a loyal couple with a newborn--especially since nobody else was waiting behind us. In the end, Standard Fare is closing exactly as it operated: precise, rigid, and lacking warmth. Hopefully the next business in this location will treat its customers with a bit more empathy.

The bakery itself seems to mainly be a takeout spot, with minimal indoor seating which felt pretty inconvenient given the limited space for customers, however it did seem to serve more of a purpose as a waiting area anyways. The structure of the bakery leaves a bit to be desired as well, as we found the glass display cases as the only form of menu, so being in the front of the line while still deciding what to order caused some unnecessary anxiety. Regardless of those nitpicks, the baked goods themselves were pretty good! Service was instant, and all of the treats looked delicious--it was hard to choose what we wanted! Our favorites were the Thai Tea and Ube Coconut Mochi Donuts. Both had really strong flavors--the Ube in particular was very clear in comparison to most other Ube desserts in my experience. The textures of the mochi donuts were really well done too, with soft exteriors and chewy, glutinous interiors. The same can be said about the Mochi Muffins, though with crunchier parts around the edges. We found the contrast of textures to actually work really well! However, the flavors of the Muffins were lacking a bit--the Red Velvet didn't stand out much, with the frosting tasting a bit too sweet, and while the Five Spice had a really interesting flavor, it was also a bit too sweet, drowning out the more unique citrusy flavor. Overall, however, all four of the goods we had were enjoyable eats, and would definitely return some time to try out other flavors!
