Food was good. Service was excellent. Tried the nachos and liked the separated chips.

We had a great dinner at Isabel's Amor! I got the carne asada plate with borracho beans--so good and full of flavor. My husband had the three tacos and enjoyed every bite. The service was friendly and attentive, and there was a live guitarist playing, which made the whole experience even better. The drinks were pretty good too, and they have a wide variety of alcohol options. We'll definitely be back! read more

We went here Saturday night with my wife. We got there about 5pm and got right in. By the time we got halfway through our meal they were PACKED and I understand why. I had the POLLO ASADO ESPECIAL and my wife had the ASADO SALAD both were AMAZING! We also had the Ceviche which also some of the best I've had. Just a little kick to it but delicious. We are most definitely going back!! I would HIGHLY recommend them! read more

We've been coming to Isabel's for over a year. The food and service are always great. They have amazing margs (the Paloma is a must). The bartenders are top notch. We always enjoy the experience. read more

Does Isabel's Amor deserve your time & money? Let's get into it! We walked in on a bustling Friday after happy hour (ends at 5:30pm), and was immediately seated as a table of 3. We sat outside, our server was very patient, and more than willing to answer questions and explain the menu. With that said, the service was great and the food came out quicker than we expected. Also this restaurant offers unlimited complimentary chips & salsa. The food was okay, but what stood out the most was the posole with flour tortilla, the Mexican style rice, and the carnita chimichanga very tasty. Other items we ordered, the house entree with the vegan tamale & shrimp taco, and another house entree with a ground beef taco & carnita taco. To me, this restaurant could be worth a second visit! read more

always a pleasure dining here. food is always great and atmosphere is wonderful. crowds are moderate to busy but worth the wait

Great service and food! A cute little spot to enjoy drinks and a good meal after work. I love the carne asada fries and hubby loves the chimichanga. Would definitely return. read more

Ordered street corn, street tacos, cast iron refried beans, cheese crisps, all are 5.0. Service was excellent Bree was are server she was knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. Ask for Bree to be your server. The only ding was they skimped on the alcohol in the margaritas. Not sure I can recommend those. Chips and salsa were awesome as well. This place is a must try. read more

Came for a small birthday celebration, first timers for all of us. We were seated immediately, was about 3:00pm on a Saturday. Service was efficient initially! We had to chuckle with our server because she let us know that the cook was grumpy so that could effect the orders. My initial reaction was wow! A tad unprofessional in my opinion! Drinks were ordered first and my wife ordered the the margarita flight. She said that the mango and strawberry were way sweet and preferred the house the best. Fun way to sample a few different flavors. Nothing else special to report on the remaining drinks. Chips and salsa were brought to the table and the chips were great. The salsas were good, with one of them being very spicy. We actually ended up mixing the two (spicy and mild) to create a salsa that was good. We also ordered the guacamole appetizer and all agreed that it lacked salt and lime, so meh for that BUT the chips were fantastic! Crispy and just the right amount of salt. Dinners ordered were Three Amigos Tacos, with a switch to two carne because of a non-pork eater...report was that the shrimp one was really good, the carne ones were "ok, had way tastier carne asada elsewhere". Two of us order the carnitas and we both agreed that the meat lacked flavor. I didn't care for the beans, too pasty, and the rice was flavorless. The tortilla was good and I made little tacos with the meat and guac, which made it better to eat. Wife had the Chili Relleno, which she said was very good. She passed on the beans and rice after taking a bite of both. We all determined that the server's notification of the cook being grumpy today had to have had an effect on the overall meal. I have read and heard from others who have eaten here so was expecting a way better meal than what we experienced. This is my reason for the three stars. Would we come again? Maybe if it was chosen by people we were going with but on our own, probably a one-time experience.I read more

Happy cinco de Mayo! I love this place and all of my friends and business partners always come here. Good food and great service

Haven't been here since September of 2014 and my review wasn't so good at that time and I swore I would never return. Fast forward to May of 2021 and I have changed my mind. This is a whole new renovated Isabel's with a tequila bar and let me tell you it is awesome! Somebody back there really knows how to cook! The food was excellent and the service was outstanding! Btw.. I'll be back! read more

Came on a Tuesday night about an hour before close. The place was popping but they were still able to seat us within 5 minutes! The ambiance is cute! Check out the mini salt and pepper shakers!! Everyone who works there seems to be 16-18, one younger than the next! Most of the staff were not wearing masks. A waiter brought over chips and salsa swiftly after we were seated. The "spicy" salsa, to our disappointment was not spicy as you can guess by my quotation marks. Good, tasty, but not spicy in the faintness. The chips were fresh and made in house! The waiter brought us over an extra marg they had made- hey we'll take it!! Although I am not a fan of margs it was good! Not too overwhelmingly tequila-y! We placed our orders and they were brought out within 10 minutes! We ordered the chicken and steak fajitas! The portions were a good size although I could have done with more than a tablespoon of guac! Good flavors! I actually preferred the chicken to the steak! I ordered a carne asada fries to go and it was brought nice and hot to the table. Bf REALLY enjoyed those! Overall a cute and tasty spot! If I'm in the area I'll go! read more

The food and service is great. Our recommendation is to improve the salsa. The mild tastes a bit like oregano and gives too much of an Italian flavor, while the hot has good spice but it is missing fresh flavor like cilantro, real tomatoes and onion. read more

I really liked it here! They ended up being out of rice and we got elote as a replacement. It was so good! I wouldn't have ordered it but glad I got it. The service was ok, a bit slow on the drinks. We will definitely go back. read more

Great food great service. Sat out on the patio., Had the fajitas and they were very tasty!

Stopped by Saturday evening with no reservations and was seated in about 15 min! The menu isn't extensive but the food is good and pretty authentic. I got the three tacos and they were all good, but especially the carnitas. My flavored margarita tasted pretty strong, as well. The service was quick too! The atmosphere is pretty nice although decor seemed a bit random. Couldn't figure out what vibe they're going for but it'd be good for a low key date night. read more

Isabel's Amor - 3 Amigos tacos and margarita - Mexican Near Me - Gilbert, Arizona

Isabel's is a go-to of ours for Mexican food. Service is always great when we eat there and quality on to-go orders is just as great.

I really wanted to love this place. I went with my girlfriends to celebrate a birthday. Our server was great but honestly, the food was average. While my standards are high I always look for the silver lining, which here was the service. It was packed! Lots of people on a Friday night wait to be seated but I'm not sure what the draw is. I had the carne asada trio of tacos that came with rice and beans. My favorite thing of the meal were the beans. Except for the vegan meal, no one really found the meal exceptional. It's a pity because the ambiance is great. read more

I don't like to post mediocre reviews of restaurants, but I think in the case of Isabel's Amor a little more effort can greatly elevate the quality of food. I was slightly disappointed by this restaurant because I found the food left much to be desired. Our choices of appetizers were nachos and a cheese crisp. Instead of a typical nacho plate with dozens of chips and toppings spread randomly across the chips, our nacho plate had eight tortilla chips with the toppings (refried beans, cheese, tomato) placed on each chip individually. While I think the idea was to produce a less messy, more shareable plate of nachos, we were not fans of how few tortilla chips we received. Also, it seemed like something was missing from the nachos, whether it be salsa, guacamole, or a meat topping that adds extra flavor. I had a power bowl with carnitas as my entrée. The carnitas was well-seasoned and had a good texture, while the remaining ingredients were a bit bland. The bowl definitely could have used some salsa or cilantro. Overall, I got the impression that this restaurant focuses the majority of its attention on preparing tasty meats. For instance, other yelp reviewers who added meat to their nachos seemed to enjoy the nachos more than we did. Aside from the meats, I think some extra seasoning and ingredients would improve the dishes. read more

The food here was excellent, great happy hour options. Our server was super nice and helpful, really made us feel welcome and that she appreciated us dining there. Really nice casual ambiance. We had beef, chicken and carnitas street tacos; mini chimichangas and the carnitas cheese crisp. Everything was tasty, great chips and spicy salsa. The carnitas cheese crisp was our favorite. read more

Been driving past this place for years and I always say "I need to go there some time". Today was the day! We stopped in for happy hour and got the cheese crisp, street corn and frijoles de amor (a fancy bean dip) and two frozen margaritas ($27). Everything was SO good and there salsa served with the chips is very spicy and delish! Also, the bartenders were attentive and friendly. I will be back to try more food on the lunch/dinnner menu. 10/10 recommend! read more

What a hip and trendy Tequila bar and restaurant. I had the Carne Asada Platter and it was very flavorful. This family owned business has been here for 8 years. Tried Isabel's Amor for the first time and the torta was the best one we've had in Arizona! Honestly it was delicious! All the food was and since I'm such a big chips and salsa person, I have to say, these were bomb! I love the when I go to a restaurant and they get refilled once you've ate them all up and there's no question about it, KEEP BRINGING THEM! This restaurant was beautiful inside and out! Went early to avoid any wait and to be able to get in and out with kids. Service was horrible. Weren't too many tables that were occupied but our server would constantly disappear and we had to wait a long time . Salsa, or if that's what it was, was a thin sauce that was tasteless...like a cheap bottle taco sauce. I had steak fajitas. Steak was like shoe leather....really! No flavor whatsoever either. The veggies were even without flavor. Kids meals were tasteless and refried beans were like water . This place really receives 0 stars but that wasn't a choice Don't waste your time. I honestly say that chipotle would have been better read more

Going down, as expected. Its ok but so many people can make better at home or at Filiberto's lol

Enchilada Plano! Had a nice dinner with a friend. We both ordered the Enchiladas. I think it was one chicken and one shrimp. It's a nice restaurant, very clean and great service. We had an appetizer that was line an open quesadilla, it was ok. The enchiladas was also ok. I think they have some very good food but the enchiladas were very plain, and nothing special. I'm not going to say it's a repeatable restaurant but I'll try it again someday just to see if they can do anything special. Give it a try, it might be good. read more

This is one of our go-to restaurants for date night. We went there last night for AZ Restaurant Week and were impressed by the options. Bree greeted us and provided great service throughout. She started my wife with the coconut Mojito while I opted for the guava Margarita. Both were great along side the tortilla chips and the smoky salsa. For an appetizer, I had the mango shrimp ceviche which was amazing in flavor and a generous portion. My wife had the shredded beef flautas which she shared with me. These were the best I've ever had! For mains we both had the El Pastor tacos. The plate came with seasoned rice and your choice of beans. This offering also came with an awesome green sauce and charred pineapple. We finished by sharing the strawberry churros and the sopapillas. Both were an amazing finish to a wonderful dining experience. read more

Isabel's Amor is a really wonderful mexican kitchen that has great seating, ambience, service, and food. I have never been disappointed in coming to this nice sit down eatery. The staff is very attentive, efficient and pleasant. The food is surprisingly fresh and innovative without being stupidly odd (no french truffle bagets filled with oyster glaze and picante over carne asada with rare mini corn waffers). Just good , stylish mexican food entrées that are fresh, and taste great. I have tried their amazing tacos, their excellent carne asada, chimichangas, and loved their amazing protein bowls (really excellent). The food never disappoints, and the stagf seems to be helpful everytime I visit. The area, seating and facility is really nice. It's a genuine date destination, lunch meeting spot or family gathering spot. The prices are a bit higher than chain mexican food sit-down restaurants, so you will want to consider that if you are on a tight budget. The only negative I have encountered at this restaurant is that the last few visits I have seen the occasional fly buzzing around the inside seating tables. This is an important thing for them to fix. That said, and assuming they take care of that one issue, I will definitely be back. read more

I stopped in here for a bite to eat before my daughters soccer game. I was greeted and sat right away. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Was a beautiful day so I sat outside. My server was Alexander. He came and took my drink order right away and dropped off chips and salsa. For my drink I ordered a skinny margarita. It was very tasty!! For food I ordered a 2 item combo with 2 cheese enchiladas, refried beans, and rice. The food came out hot and fresh. The enchiladas had little pieces of onion in them which I thought added a great flavor. Service was fast and great. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were delicious. I will definitely be back if I'm in the area again. I recommend this place. read more

I give very few five stars but after thinking about this a lot, I have to give it to Isabel's. This might just be my favorite restaurant right now. First, as always, the service. It's phenomenal. Every single person is friendly, everyone loves the food and they are always really attentive. Need a recommendation? They got 3. Need a drink? It'll be there in two minutes. This isn't even a one off, I've been here 3-4 times now and it's always like this. This is what a restaurant should operate like. The atmosphere - this place is dang cute man. When it gets dark and they have the little candles lit on your table, it is super cozy. The bar is also very cool, it's like a hotel bar and a beach front shack combined (in a good way, that was a terrible analogy). I've only sat outside once so I can't say much but it was lovely out there too. Fully covered might I add, no sun ruining your skin. Lastly, the food. Holy crap, the food ladies and gentlemen. Everything is fantastic. Literally the best Elote dip I've ever had anywhere. I don't even like it but my wife is a little obsessed. They even use Cotija cheese! What's up with all these places using Mexican blend crap... They have the fanciest, most well prepared enchiladas I've had. The refried beans are like candy, their rice tastes like real fresh rice (I'm looking at you Filibertos with your bagged Spanish rice). Every single thing I've had there is equally as good. I usually go somewhere and I got one thing I like and I stick with it. At Isabel's, I get something different every time and it always impresses. My wife loves the enchiladas but I honestly can't even pick any one thing. The bar is awesome too. Multiple kinds of margaritas and they're all delicious. I love the strawberry margarita, it almost feels like a soda, so sippable and refreshing. Their bar is a full bar too so anything you could want, outside even just their drink menu. Overall, I love this place. I've never had a bad experience, meal, service, nothing. I waited an hour once and didn't even care because I just wanted a dang good Chimichanga. Give this place a shot, I'd be shocked if you regretted it. read more

The carnitas...DELICIOUS! Tried this place on a whim, and we absolutely loved it! The staff was super nice, accommodating, and offered some great suggestions on what to order for our first time there. The borracho beans are a must, the flavor, level of spice..so good. We enjoyed Isabel's so much, we went back two nights later with some friends. Oh and their tortillas are homemade...huge plus!! read more

The staff is wonderful, the food is delicious. I like everything about this place but the parking.

This place is awesome! The salsa is HOT and so good with red pepper flakes! The chips are warm and fresh right out of the kitchen. I had a shredded beef taco and a red tamale. The taco was on point! Full of shredded beef cheese and lettuce with a radish, YUM! The tamale was just ok flavor but stuffed with the shredded beef. Next time I will skip the tamale and go with two tacos. On the side I had refried beans (perfect) and Baraccho beans (spicy and danced on my tastebuds). My son got the carnitas plate and after a bite I was so jealous. It was tender and crispy at the same time. Definitely a must try! And the hot and huge flour tortilla taste homemade, probably is. The service was excellent! Our server Blake catered to our every need and there were a couple of others that stopped by to check on us too. The music was fun. Contemporary songs in Spanish. I had to point out to my husband that the song playing was our wedding song but in Spanish. There is a gorgeous patio that wraps around the dining room with HUGE glass windows separating the two. The plates are a bit on the pricy side like $15 to $20 but it's quality so no broken hearts about that. They have a good happy hour but the bar is on the smallish side, probably seats about 10 to 15 people but perf if your there with just one other person. read more

Was really excited for the food and the menu looked great, but was quite disappointed, especially considering the price. Food was lacking in flavor and was really let down by the fajitas. Margs were the highlight. Restaurant and patio is cute, but the service was also a let down. Started off slow and then after our waitress dropped off the check, she did not return for 25+ minutes, despite making eye contact while she was at another table. She even walked right past us to seat another table and continued walking inside, not even batting an eye in our direction at this point. Another server noticed and was able to cash us out. Quite a disappointing experience, particularly for a birthday dinner. read more

consistency good food, clean, modern, great service. Our hostess/waitress gave excellent service despite doing the work of 3 people at once. Fast, on the ball she served 7 tables flawlessly. Alexis. The current chef created fresh food, lots of fresh meat in husband's burrito. ( sometimes it tastes like warmed up meat from the freezer, at some places). i like the Chile rellono with a great sauce. tortillas just the right amount of soft and crisp. fresh lettuce looks like it came out of the garden today. great job, a definite favorite. read more

Was so excited to see the new tequila bar addition to one of our favorite little spots. Arrived Sunday afternoon at 130 and sat at the bar since there was a brief wait in the restaurant. The additional bar is large and awesome. Lengthy post: That was the best part of our visit. We knew exactly what we wanted since we've been here so many times before. There were 2 female bartenders, a blonde who served us and a brunette. I wish I could give a name but it was never shared by the blonde who took our order. We wanted to start with a cheese crisp and we chose the pick 2 combo. Our clean napkin still had beans stuck to it, per the server. How does someone roll silverware in a dirty crusty napkin? Our server answered her phone and then told us that she had to pick up or her kid would blow up her phone. I have kids, I get it, but you are at work. She proceeded to make herself a drink, go to the bathroom with her phone and purse and stand in the kitchen eating. All while the brunette refilled our empty water and was busting her butt changing out a keg, serving the entire bar and making cocktails for the staff on the floor. She even brought us our meals. But when we asked where the cheese crisp was, she was surly and I asked to her to remove from the bill. Our server either forgot to enter because she was so distracted in her own world or it was missed by the kitchen. If she would have said hi or checked in with us she would have figured that out. Extremely disappointing when we've always had amazing service and experience at Isabels. I know everyone has staffing challenges but the other server could have been alone and rocked the bar alone. The service was horrible and the food was a bit disappointing, seems recipes changed or something. Not sure we will return. We have better restaurants closer to us in Queen Creek. read more
