Reliable sandwiches. However, I feel it is fairly overpriced for what you get. If you want fries instead of chips, the up charge is $3.50...wow! Burgers are $20. Hardly anybody in the place, so service was pretty good. Quiet...but mostly bc it was basically empty. I was not overly impressed with the sour...not very flavorful and it seemed flat. Overall, just average...nothing to get upset about, but nothing to rave about either.

I give you the holy grail of sandwiches! I not the type to get the same thing every time I go out to eat but I make an exception at Isaac's for the Mallard. The new renovation looks great and the addition of the brewery is a plus.

It's been for ever since I've eaten at an Isaac's. I ordered Togo and got Penguin Club. It was very tasty I'd definitely order it again.

Back brew pub. Super clean and yummy.

Not sure when some of these reviews occurred but feel compelled to tell my story. Best kept secret (if it is that) on the West shore. 12 craft brews in this back nook with wifi and great food. Great place to do the rest of my remote work for the day!

The pickled vegetables are always good! Ask for them, since they didn't automatically serve them to me.

Great lunch here! Of course I had my favorite soup of pepperjack tomato. I did the combo, which added half a Reuben sandwich. I enjoyed the combo with an unsweetened iced tea. I love the pickled vegetables, and ate the entire bowl! As for my sandwich, I was a bit adventurous (for me, at least), adding spicy mustard in lieu of thousand island dressing. The mustard was creamy-smooth, between spicy like dijon and sweet like honey. It was a first for me, and won't be the last time I request it. My soup was perfectly topped with crispy (but not tooth-cracking) croutons and was chock full of chopped tomatoes. All of my meal was the perfect temperature. Service was terrific! It's just okay. The renovations they did are great, but the prices + up charge for using a credit card is not worth the value received. We ordered a kids meal in addition to 2 sandwiches. The kids meal was literally dinosaur chicken nuggets that you can get in the freezer aisle and came out cold - the applesauce was not good either. My son was not a fan. For my sandwich, the corned beef tasted off and I ended up getting sick at home from it. The sandwich my husband had was just okay as well. Nothing to write home to about. We want to support local, but there is way better out there. Something will need to be done differently in order to retain interest in this area.

    Kids pb&j sandwhich

I really like isaacs. I got the Reuben sandwhich & it was great. I upgraded to fries. Those were also fine. However I ordered for my kids too. The quesadilla was mostly crunchy tortilla & just crap & the pbj was one piece of toast. Not impressed with the kids food at all plus they did not include a kids side like apple sauce, carrots or chips. It was literally just these two kids "meals" then my sandwhich & fries. Really disappointed when I got home & opened up the boxes to this. Won't be ordering from the kids menu again that's for sure. Also the inside had a renovation & looks really nice. Sad the food wasn't up to par with the new looks

    Flat beers

This place was so disappointing. It claims to be a brewery, so we both ordered beers. After one sip, we informed the waitress both beers were flat. The waitress informed us she doesn't know anything about beer so she would need to check with the manager about if the beer is supposed to be flat, big red flag. She came back and said my beer was in fact flat, but my fiancé's isn't. Huh? Well we had already ordered food so we decided to grab some cocktails. Nope. Not a good idea, they were watered down and not mixed well, which wasn't too surprising when we found out they didn't have a bartender. Food was just as underwhelming. We paid $9 for cheese curds that looked like something dumped out a bag. No flavor and definitely not worth the price. The actual sandwiches were fine, though not worth the price. You'll spend $15 to get a rather basic sandwich and fries. The only thing they had that was flavorful was the pesto tortellini deli salad. That was great, but far too little to over come the rest of the experience.

    New modern vibes.

Then you open the menu and realize there is a surprisingly large Hawaiian themed food selection. It is not really a restaurant, though. It feels like a bar first, with a better than expected food program, not the other way around. The bar service was excellent. I ordered a Sazerac, and they served it with the absinthe on the side so you can add it to taste. That is a small detail, but it shows care and attention, and it made for a great drink. Service overall was friendly and prompt. Even though it is clearly a bar, it is also calm enough during certain hours that you could do some work or have a low key meeting. I would not try that during peak drinking hours. I am not sure of the exact hours, but it seems like more of a late day or evening spot than a lunch stop. If you are in the area and want a solid cocktail and a snack, High Dive is an easy pick.

The moment I realized there was nowhere to park in Harrisburg's awesome Midtown area, I knew I was in for a good time. That kind of energy usually means a place is worth the stop. From the old‑school neon sign outside to the throwback décor inside, the whole place felt like a blast from the past, almost like a little slice of Brooklyn tucked into Harrisburg. The crowd was lively but not overwhelming, with plenty of seating and someone ready to greet you right away. I was told that during the week there's usually no wait at all, which is a huge bonus. I asked the bartender to surprise me with a drink, and he delivered a gorgeous gin Frenchie with perfectly balanced foam and flavor. It was honestly one of the highlights of my visit. This spot is a true hidden gem and now holds a special place in my heart. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great drinks, great vibes, and a throw back atmosphere.

The Review: Men in the Kitchen…read more My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!! It was a rainy Sunday, and I was working up a hunger while driving Uber for content. I went to three different spots before I finally found the place I should've gone to first. The food and atmosphere at this restaurant are so good that I want to find another establishment just like it, but so far--at least on this day--nothing in the area can beat it. I don't know why I treat this restaurant like a good wife that a man might constantly cheat on but always returns to. I'm not saying that I actually cheat; I'm just using that for context! So, I found myself once again at Two Men in the Kitchen. Since it was Easter Sunday, they offered a buffet or a special limited menu. There was fish and chicken wings available, and I chose the wings. Since I don't eat meat often, I asked for their "House Sauce," and it is by far amazing. I paired the wings with the 3-cheese baked mac & cheese and sweet potatoes. I went for the sides first because I wanted to save the best for last--I already knew that house sauce was going to be incredible, especially on the chicken and greens eggrolls they have. The mac & cheese was great; it had a crunchy outside yet remained soft in the middle, and the cheese pull was amazing. The sweet potatoes were definitely homemade; I could tell because every slice was a different cut, which I appreciate because it proves they didn't come out of a can. Now for the best part: the chicken wings. They were cooked perfectly--neither overdone nor underdone, with no pink on the inside. Everything was pure. I did happen to taste a little bit of Old Bay on the wings, so I asked the chef if that was part of the secret seasoning. He said no, so maybe someone slipped some in by accident, but it didn't stop me from indulging. I also ordered one of their house special drinks--a Hennessy and rum cocktail. It was a very pretty drink, but unfortunately, I am not a fan of Hennessy. Personally, I think it tastes like house keys or licking a brass knob when you're a kid. On my scale, the drink was a 2 out of 5; I just don't think rum and cognac should mix, but that's just my opinion. The atmosphere was amazing and the bathrooms were clean. I will definitely visit this place again and again, although sometimes it is hard to tell if they are open because of the heavily tinted windows. For those who know the area, this is the old firehouse in Harrisburg. I was told that on the weekends, they clear some tables to create a dance floor, which is a nice touch. There is plenty of bar seating and booths, making it a kid-friendly environment. The only thing I don't like--which applies to every restaurant on 2nd Street--is that it's very hard to find parking. You have to do it online, via text, and it won't allow you to purchase any time less than an hour. Kinda sucks for those carrying out. Totally not the restaurant's fault though. I got the jerk quesadilla without the jerk ranch sauce. They don't serve this or their regular quesadilla with salsa or pica de gallo so it does taste a little bland. The jerk flavor isn't coming thru for me. It's a little disappointing but it's also just a quesadilla so I don't expect much. I'm not deterred though. I'd be interested in trying more on the menu. It seemed like a cozy place to sit and eat. I'd also like to eat there on my next visit. I'll update my review when I do.

The cocktails alone are worth the visit. The bartenders really know their craft, and the alcohol selection, including local beers, is solid. My only real issue is brunch. Every time I've visited after 12 p.m. (brunch is served until 2 p.m.), there's been a problem--either they're no longer taking food orders, the kitchen is backed up with a 45-minute wait, or they've simply run out of food. It comes off unprofessional and could definitely be handled better. I've noticed this becoming a growing trend during brunch service in general, and while some people suggest arriving as early as 10 a.m. for the best experience, consistency matters. If you're offering brunch, you should be properly staffed and prepared to serve guests throughout the full service window. Period. It's especially frustrating when you've traveled specifically to experience their culinary offerings and hit a wall like that. Overall, if you're looking for a spot that feels like a New York-style dive bar with elevated drinks and solid food--if you catch it at the right time--this place delivers. Just plan strategically if brunch is your goal.

The PB whiskey was so dang smooth! I'm an Irish whiskey kind of lady, but this was very drinkable. I told my friend I was going to get a bottle of that as well as the vodka, but she talked me into the marshmallow whiskey instead. I haven't tried that yet, but I trust her judgement. The main thing to know is that it's definitely a place to sit and drink and not so much a place to eat. We popped in across the street to eat before coming to DL.
