This used to be THE BMW dealership that I loved and supported, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I bought and serviced BMWs here because I previously had genuinely positive experiences. In August 2025, my salesperson, Jack, helped source one of the first 2026 BMW X5 xDrive50e vehicles available after I needed a more disability-friendly vehicle following a serious accident. Unfortunately, my later service experience was completely different. Irvine BMW documented safety concerns by December 2025. The December service records my request to check the brakes and my report that the rear hatch would close by itself and almost hit people. I signed that paperwork at the time because I did not understand I could decline or annotate paperwork I believed was inaccurate. My signature was not intended to mean those concerns were successfully diagnosed or repaired, and the copy I received does not document a repair resolving either concern. Months later, the X5 was towed to Irvine BMW after a reported freeway event involving loss of braking or brake power, loss of vehicle power and functionality, and multiple warnings. Irvine BMW later represented that its work was complete, but the event was not conclusively reproduced and, to my knowledge, its cause was not established. While the X5 remained in Irvine BMW custody, BMW App records showed about 22 miles of dealership driving. Irvine BMW acknowledged the mileage and said it was diagnostic driving. I repeatedly requested the specific authorization relied upon for those public-road drives, but I was not provided that record. Irvine BMW also initially characterized the original BMW transportation protection film as aftermarket and later corrected that statement. During custody, the My BMW App showed the high-voltage battery reached about 0 percent. Afterward, I experienced repeated charging interruptions and disconnections. Available battery information also raised concern about possible cell imbalance, which another BMW-owned dealership is evaluating. The release process became another dispute. I had disclosed physical limitations affecting my ability to drive safely and was coordinating the return of the loaner and safe transportation of the X5. At final release on August 14, I reviewed the repair order Irvine BMW presented to me and told the cashier that I could not sign it because I believed it contained inaccuracies. The cashier initially told me she needed signatures and then offered to obtain a manager. Michael Gruber subsequently approached without identifying himself. After he objected to being recorded, I immediately stopped recording. He then confirmed that I did not have to sign the repair order as presented. He proceeded with threatening me that if I wanted the requested records, my lawyers could contact the dealership. I wrote on Irvine BMW's dealership copy that I declined or refused to sign because I believed the repair order contained inaccuracies and placed my signature only next to that refusal notation. I was not permitted to photograph Irvine BMW's copy containing my handwritten notation and limited signature. Since the reported braking and power-loss event remained unresolved, BMW Roadside Assistance ultimately arranged for the X5 to be towed to another authorized BMW-owned dealership for further diagnosis rather than requiring me to drive it. A new repair order was opened addressing the braking and power-loss event, repeated charging interruptions, and the rear tailgate unexpectedly closing near people. What disappoints me most is how different this was from the Irvine BMW I previously trusted. I cannot speak to why the atmosphere changed, and do not want to speculate if there was a change higher up than general management. I can only describe my documented experience. Based on that experience, I would now choose another authorized BMW Center for future diagnosis, maintenance, and repair work. I have preserved the relevant repair orders, emails, texts, BMW App records, BMW Roadside records, and supporting documentation, and may update this review when the ongoing diagnosis is complete. read more

Disappointing experience at Irvine BMW. I came in after receiving their email offering a complimentary multi-point inspection to make sure the car is "road-ready." Once there, I was told the complimentary inspection was only a visual check and that a more comprehensive inspection would cost about $300. I also wanted their advertised $119.99 BMW Value Service oil change for my 2006 330i. The advisor told me it would instead be about $360 because the car is over 10 years old. I pointed out that Irvine BMW changed the oil on this exact car in 2022, when it was already well over 10 years old, and there was no issue. I've serviced this BMW and other BMWs at Irvine BMW over the years. The difference between the offers that brought me in and what I was told after arriving was disappointing and should be communicated much more clearly. read more

We were genuinely ready to buy a BMW EV, but our experience with Aron completely changed our minds. The customer service was extremely disappointing. Instead of taking the time to sit down with us, explain pricing, or walk us through our options, we felt like we were brushed off. Buying a car is a major purchase, and we expected professionalism, courtesy, and at least a basic effort to earn our business. There was no attempt to discuss pricing, answer questions thoroughly, or make us feel like valued customers. We left feeling unwelcome and ended up taking our business elsewhere and even ended up BUYING A CAR!!! Irvine BMW is the best place to buy a BMW and we know because we are very picky and went to 10 of them. The rest were not even close to good. The prices here are fair and you are treated well. They had the color I wanted, which is not that easy to fine--It is plum. It is a Hybrid and so far we have had no problems. The parking there is easy and of course free. The interior has a lot of cars in it and it is so clean and the area for the sellers to deal with you is nice and somewhat comfortable. The outside is also kept spotless. My one complaint is our salesman who I know has left there, did not listen when he told me how many mats there were for this car. When I got it home a mat was missing and I called right away and he said "Oh, that mat is not included." Well, that is not what he told me and he and I counted them, out loud. I don't play. He then did not return my calls and we had to go to the manager who said he would look into it and did, and I got my promised mat. Had I not this review would be quite different. The manager is very nice and knows when a customer is right. I was there most of the day to test drive and look and talk. My other issue is they have a "genius BMW" guy would is supposed to teach you how to use all the features on the car. He was not good. He could not connect my phone, get my music and I told him to slow down and he just wanted to be done and go home. I will have to hire someone to teach me how to use my car. But all in all they are the best in town, their selection is better than anyone else and so are their prices. read more

I am writing to share my recent experience at Irvine BMW, and unfortunately, it fell far short of the standards I have come to expect as a long-time BMW owner. I visited the dealership today with the intention of requesting an appraisal on my 4 Series. Upon arrival, the receptionist appeared visibly annoyed by my check-in, which set a negative tone for the entire visit. Throughout my time there, I felt entirely unwelcome and received a noticeable lack of hospitality from the staff. As someone who has been a loyal BMW owner for a significant period, I value the experience that should come with the brand. I've been here a few times and I have yet to have a bad experience. I purchased my car here two years ago and it was pretty seamless. They even helped me set up my ID and showed me how to use everything. I also came back for service and everything was pretty quick. I got my complementary loaner without any issues. Brought my car in for service and it was the worst experience I've ever had at A BMW service center. I brought the car in for a smoking issue... This was fixed with a BMW warranty. They also wanted to do another 20k in services for coolant leaks... The car only has 75k and is only worth 20k. A true partner would advise in this situation what was critical and not was just recommended. Because the warranty is over I took it to a highly rated independent BMW shop and he saw the estimate and just laughed. read more

something urgent came up with our car that needed immediate attention. when I contacted Matt in the service department, because he took care of my care on previous visits, he instantly started the processing of our car. This guy is amazing. although in a normal day we had to drop the car and come back the day after he made pulled some strings and make sure we got the car back on the same day within a very reasonable waiting time. on the cost side also he figured out that the service fee was covered by some warranty. at the end of the day, we were extremely happy. I really want this review to be better, and I genuinely hope to come back with a more positive update soon but as of now, BMW of Irvine has been quite disappointing. My lease is coming to an end, and I'm looking around, trying to get an idea for what to go for next. This dealership is the closest BMW location to where I live, so naturally I started here. I've been here three times. Why three? Because I have not been helped still and each visit somehow managed to get worse. The first two visits were almost identical. I walked in, browsed the showroom, waited around... and waited some more. The receptionist said that someone will be with me shortly, but it never happened. The place felt clearly understaffed, and after standing around awkwardly long enough, I left both times. The third visit is what finally triggered this review. This time, someone actually came out and greeted me. He asked how he could help, and I explained that I'm researching, I would like to see a few models and the interiors. Within less than a minute, after learning that I will not be buying a car today, his attitude completely changed. Suddenly, he "had another appointment," walked me over to the front desk, and dumped me there. End of interaction. That alone felt completely humiliating . On top of it , every showroom car was locked. I couldn't sit in anything, couldn't get a feel for interiors, couldn't even open a door. What exactly am I supposed to research? The cars are locked and no staff around to help. I'm out of here. So far this is easily some of the worst dealership customer service I've experienced. read more

The service check in process here is usually smooth and fairly quick, which I appreciate. However, once your car is no longer under warranty, the prices become very expensive. I've been a service customer and a Parts customer for years at this location. Recently I was working on a friend's 328 and I located a boat that was stripped by a previous mechanic. I looked up the part number and contacted the dealership in Santa Ana who quoted me $2 purple but stated they would need to order it and would have it in 2 days. I asked them to do a locator search and they said Irvine BMW had three in stock. I called and confirmed they were in stock and had them placed on hold. I went to the parts counter and picked up the items, but didn't even check the price when I put my credit card in the machine. Later I realized I paid nearly $8 per Bolt and the bolt has an MSRP of $.45 I can understand the markup within reason, but this was ridiculous especially considering the other local dealer was significantly lower in price per bolt. Next time I'm shopping for parts, I will avoid Irvine BMW as their markup over retail is absurd. read more

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at BMW of Irvine. I brought my vehicle in for a recall service with no warning lights or restraint system errors on the dashboard. After receiving the vehicle back, it was displaying a "Passenger Restraint System Malfunction" warning -- an issue that was simply not present when I brought the car in. What is even more frustrating than the problem itself is the way the situation has been handled. I trusted an authorized BMW dealership to perform a recall service professionally and return my vehicle in proper condition. Instead, my car came back with a new safety-related warning, and rather than taking responsibility and properly investigating what happened, I have been met with an unwillingness to resolve the issue. I have photos documenting the warning that appeared after the service. A customer should never bring a vehicle to a dealership for a recall and leave with new problems that did not exist before, especially when the warning involves the passenger restraint and airbag system. This has been an extremely disappointing experience and far below the level of professionalism, accountability, and customer service I would expect from a BMW dealership. I strongly recommend that anyone considering service at BMW of Irvine document the condition of their vehicle and dashboard before leaving it with the service department. Based on my experience, if something goes wrong afterward, you may find yourself having to fight just to get the situation properly addressed. I expected BMW-level service. For the past 2 years, I've owned a 2024 BMW 330e that I charge only at home on a dedicated-line installed by an electrician and using the original BMW charging cable that came with the car. Recently, the car stopped charging and the car is still covered by the new car warranty. So, I took it into Irvine BMW to correct the issue. Matt Wooley is my Service Adviser and he handled this issue for me. Initially, the finding was that the car charged normally at the dealership using the BMW cable that came with my car. The car needed new tires and an alignment. So, Irvine BMW kept the car a little longer while they completed those items. (And yes, the prices for those items were reasonable.) Apparently, the technician(s) did keep checking things, because I called one time and the person answering the service line said the tech was still checking on the charging situation. Long story short, the technician had reset some things electronically and charging at home has now resumed as before. Yippee ! ! ! read more

Mark Wooley was my service rep assigned to handle my X5 annual service check up. He's super friendly and responds immediately to text/phone calls. Turns out my water pump was leaking and needed replaced. We did have an issue with warranty approval that took an extended amount of time that affected when the service could be completed. But he and all the other team members and transport team folks were super chill and helpful with arranging a last minute loaner car insteadA brand new fully electric car work only 27 miles! No hassles and they all handled everything so expeditiously to get me on my way while they completed the processing and repairs. Took my car in for a starter RECALL and left with an EMPTYOILTANK, and my HOOD would not open correctly even though its my car and I know what the hood would sound like when I open it, I spoke with Mike Groover the Service Manager and he said it was normal and it was a human mistake and that he would wash my car, I thought that was complementary AND what kind of MANAGER WASHES A CAR, GET A REAL JOB I took it back and he said that everything was good, I got home and found a wrench inside my hood, reason why it would not open correctly. So do not believe the videos they send you, saying that they did a full inspection and everything is fixed and good. A week later I get a notice from BMW of North America asking why I have NOT done my STARTER RECALL, THE WORST EXPERIENCE & UNPROFESIONAL LYING DEALERSHIP that is connected to ROLLS ROYCE OF IRVINE. DO NOT leave without checking everything, that means opening up your hood and getting your hands dirty, not to mention a scratch and chip on my hood area. and why because I did not want to purchase the lame special they have on oil changes or because I have an extended warranty or because I want to keep my car and not sell it, unprofessional, what kind of question is that, ARE YOU GOING TO KEEP YOUR CAR by ALDO my Service "Advisor " ask such a weird question, when im bringing my car in for a RECALL....STRANGE QUESTION and did they do the RECALL ? Why am I getting a notice dated JUNE 2026, asking why I have NOT gotten my recall done when ALDO from the SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED AND gave me a paper STATING that it was done. Irvine BMW is great! My wife got her car here last year and we have been coming back for regular service. Additionally, we sold my wife's prior car to Irvine BMW at a very competitive price with ease. What makes a dealership a great dealership is creating relationships and not making customers feel like numbers. Irvine BMW has, in my humble opinion, improved tremendously over the years in terms of customer service. I recall getting into a small disagreement on something basic when I was shopping for a car some 15 or so years ago, and left with a bit of a bad taste. However, now, I really feel like my salesman considers my specifically. He regularly sends me curated updates on inventory as well as birthday and holiday wishes. Similarly, the service department are just about the nicest people I have worked with and treat you with respect. I also like the videos they sent as they work on your car so you can feel some semblance of transparency. read more

I own a 2022 BMW X6 M50i with only 51,000 miles. For the past 2-3 years, I repeatedly reported a vibration/shaking issue at low speeds and while parking. Irvine BMW was unable to identify the cause. Shortly after my warranty expired, I was told the front thrust arm bushings were worn and needed replacement, along with other recommended services totaling nearly $8,000. My question is: if the bushings were causing the vibration, why was this not diagnosed during the multiple visits when I reported the same concern, including before the warranty expired? The purchase experience with Irvine BMW has been absolutely terrific. I began by dealing with sales manager Johnny, who was friendly and helpful and not "salesy" at all. I decided to do a special order of my car since I wanted particular interior and exterior colors (see photo of my car which should be arriving any day now from the factory!) and also specific packages of upgrades. While I've been waiting, I've been working with Armon, who is the "concierge" for new owners. We've done a long test drive where he's demonstrated a lot of the different features my car will have. Armon has been friendly and available. He's answered all my calls and emails and texts. (Sorry, I'm a typical excited 1st-time BMW buyer, and Armon has been patient and understanding.) Finally, BMW has a great app called My BMW where you can follow the progress of the build of your car. I brought my BMW X5 to Irvine dealership because it was experiencing drivability issues. After performing a diagnostic inspection, I was informed by my service advisor, Sergio Contreras, that the vehicle required replacement of the Valvetronic motor, the eccentric shaft, and other related components, with an estimated repair cost of approximately $8,751. I was advised that these components had failed and that the repairs were necessary to restore the vehicle to proper operating condition. However, because of the significant estimated cost, I sought further evaluation from a different auto shop before authorizing the repairs. The other auto shop determined that the actual problem was only a defective battery. After replacing the battery, the vehicle operated normally without replacing the Valvetronic motor, eccentric shaft, or any of the expensive components identified in Irvine BMW dealership's diagnosis. This raises serious concerns regarding the accuracy of the dealership's diagnostic process. At best, the diagnosis was grossly inaccurate. At worst, I believe I was presented with false and misleading information that could have caused me to authorize thousands of dollars in unnecessary repairs. Customers rely on BMW's dealerships to provide honest, competent, and accurate diagnoses. Presenting a repair estimate approaching $9,000 for components that were not actually defective undermines my confidence in the BMW brand especially the Irvine, CA location and raises concerns about whether other customers may be subjected to similar practices. I would rate them a zero if it was an option. read more
