Nice relaxing bath in our room after a long day!

Lovely hotel, very clean and nicely decorated. We stayed 4 nights for a seminar. Staff were very pleasant and available if we needed something. I loved the bathtub in our suite, and the fireplace was a nice cozy touch. I was a bit disappointed that there was no microwave in our room, and the parking lot is quite small so get there early if you're attending an event because the lot fills up quickly. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance so once we parked we thankfully didn't have to move our truck and lose our parking spot. Overall this was a very comfortable place to stay!

    Legacy Suite Rainforest Shower (amazing).

Modern/industrial chic design, large rooms, comfy bedding, fireplace, soft towels, "rainforest" shower, all the necessities and more. What else could you ask for in a hotel? We found ourselves in Beloit for a wedding and we were honestly expecting to stay in a standard hotel for a night and dread it. Yet, stumbling upon this hotel in Yelp I instantly grew excited. I splurged a bit for the Legacy Suite, as the rainforest shower with pebbled floors called for me. Online reservations were a breeze, as was checking in when we arrived although we were early. Thankfully our room was ready for us before the standard check-in time, as we needed to get changed for the wedding. Best of all, they offered us complimentary glasses of champagne. What an unexpected treat. Walking into the room we had a long industrial desk that was home to the coffee machine (K-Cups), mini-fridge/mini-bar, wines with cork screw, work space, USB outlets and more. The other side was home to a large closet with storage built in, as well as the safe and microwave. At the end of the room was the living room with a super comfy leather pullout couch and chair, facing a wood wall with gas fireplace and TV above. Behind that wall was the king bed, with a view of the fireplace and another TV above. Outlets near the bed had USB plugs. One of the walls of the bedroom is fogged glass, with the rainforest shower on the other side. The bathroom is huge, with a massive wood counter, free to use and comfy robes, super soft towels, and the mystical rainforest shower with black pebbled floors. Unfortunately there was a stain on our sheets (I think just leftover detergent), so on our way out to the wedding we let them know. Staff apologized, said that should have never occurred and swiftly changed the entire bedding and left a hand-written note. On our return from the wedding we finally got to checkout the rainforest shower. Oh my was it relaxing... water from above and a mounted wand from the side. I could have stayed in there all night. A unique highlight of the shower was actually the bar soap they provided. The bar soap had shavings of oak and flecks of pepper, which made for the most relaxing and exfoliating sensation. Honestly, the only thing missing from the bathroom would have been a heater, as it took sometime for the large bathroom to warm from the shower. The only other criticisms I'd have for the room is that it would have been nice to have some room in the mini-fridge/mini bar to put some of our own items in it. In the morning, I stopped down by the front desk and grabbed some complimentary baked good from a local bakery and decent coffee. It was a perfect holdover as we took advantage of the wonderfully late checkout. Who would of thought hotel perfection could be found in Beloit?!

Ironworks Hotel is amazing. The whole hotel, top to bottom, inside and outside, has been redone in this industrial theme, riffing on Beloit's history. Cool fittings, every surface looks great. Even the luggage carts are industrial. The room was beautiful, and we got a suite, which is all one room but divided by a two-sided fireplace. Nice king bed and a fold-out couch. All sorts of amenities in the room. It could use more of a kitchenette- there is refrigerator, but it's a fully stocked minibar fridge, so there's not a lot of room left. And it could use a microwave. But, that's really just a minor issue. The view along the river is spectacular. The fittings in the room are cool. The bathroom is large, and there's a walk-in glass shower with a rain shower head. It's just great all around. Dog-friendly, too, which is nice.  Right in the heart of downtown Beloit. Very cool, a little pricey, but well worth it for what it is. And we loved it so much we stayed an extra night.

Rooms are clean and they have a steak house that made one of the best steaks of my life. Highly recommend.

Ask the Community - Ironworks Hotel

Is this hotel pretty kid-friendly? We have to attend for a wedding. Also, what kid-friendly (ages 2,4,6) are there near here?

They were great with our toddler. It's also pet-friendly. Not sure what kid stuff is nearby, but Beloit is a nice town with lots of parks, etc.

The room was clean and had a rustic modern feel. When the carpet is beige, you know they have to take care of it consistently. Everything had a plush feel. The shower had a rainfall showerhead and a handheld. There's a scent that emanates throughout the hotel and into your room. It's light and adds to the ambiance. It's also in the sheets and linen too. I guess that adds to one of the negatives I list later in that the HVAC seems to be centrally controlled. There was some very minor debris in the sink that may have been left from wiping of a dirty rag, but that was mostly it. Gym was nice and parking was plentiful and free. What I didn't like: - Mini fridge in the room had a lot of snacks and other drinks that I assume were for sale. I usually pack my own food, so those items took up some space in the fridge - I get cold easily, so I try to adjust the thermostat, but it's centrally controlled, which I've never seen... I'm assuming all of the rooms are regulated in this way... - Breakfast bar- had bare minimal which I really don't mind. I really wouldn't expect a place like this to serve you breakfast unless it was full service. Would definitely come back

Does not have full breakfast but does have grab and go muffins, fruit, coffee, etc. They also have a rooftop bar where one can sit inside or outside. Full bar with good bartenders. Menu is limited but still plenty to choose from. We had an order of mussels and a charcuterie tray. Both were very good. Our bartender was Colton and he took good care of us.

I'm writing four reviews that compare them all to one another. All four reviews have the same opening two paragraphs, and then a paragraph specific to each hotel. Night 1 was the Drury Plaza Hotel in Milwaukee - which ranked #1 of the 4, and grades out as an "A". Exceptional staff, free parking, and a nice breakfast. Night 2 was Home2Suites in Beloit - which ranked #3 of the 4, and would grade out as a C. Night 3 was the Hampton Inn & Suites Madison East Towne Mall Area in Madison, which was #2 of the 4, and grades out as an B-. Night 4 was the Wilderness Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, which ranked #4 of the four, and grades out as a D. We arrive around 4pm and check in was a breeze. Lobby is nice and staff were efficient, though not overly warm or welcoming. Our room smelled terrible. We got used to it, but it was the smell of something bad happening, and then a heck of a lot of cleaning to make the bad thing go away, only to have some of the cleaning and some of the bad linger and mingle together. I wanted to change rooms, but my group is not one for making a scene so we stuck with it. Beds were comfy though there were no outlets near my side of the bed, which seems like hotel 101. Bathroom was okay. Breakfast was decent, though the seating area was small. It was a decent enough stay, but when I compare all four (which were all similarly priced) this one felt less like we got what we paid for. It's okay.
