A couple things we did not like are the fact there's no safe in the room. They will clean your room every couple of days but they missed us one day and they said it's because in the morning we had to do not disturb on. However, they were cleaning the floor when we left at 10:30 and the room never got Done. Their breakfast is OK it's not much more than a continental and in fact there's no pastries of any kind or anything like that there's a few muffins. We stayed an entire week and nothing really changed on the buffet. The only kind of fruit is are a whole apple or maybe a whole orange so there's no cut up fruit. And I'm only bringing this up because they mention on their website about this excellent breakfast and it's nowhere near that. The staff is super friendly. The pool looks pretty darn small but if it was winter time I'm sure kids would enjoy having that opportunity to swim. I probably would stay here again, but I would go to the store and buy my own things to eat in my room as opposed to there breakfast.

This Holiday Inn was VERY nice and a great option for the night. The many personal touches and affordable rate made this a very redemptive experience for us. The hotel is advertised as newly renovated and it does look very nice inside. The lobby and breakfast are are newly refreshed. You can tell it's an older hotel updated with fresh fixtures and furnishings and it's all pretty nice and very clean, which is what is important to me! Our room also had modern fixtures and amenities. Interestingly, the bathroom floor had old outdated tile that was not included in the renovation, and was cracked along the grout and seemed a little worse for the wear. But the rest of the bathroom was sleek and very functional so this was a non issue. We didn't spend much time in the room, but the surfaces and bathroom were very clean and the beds were clean and comfortable. Everything in the room (fridge, microwave, safe, heating/air until, etc) worked well. Water pressure was on the lower side in the shower, but temperature was really nice and the tub was clean and comfortable. The gentleman who checked us in at the front desk was extremely quick and friendly. We felt we could get help with anything we needed. The breakfast staff was also helpful and attentive keeping everything stocked and running smoothly. Speaking of breakfast, it was a highlight! There were a A LOT of options- eggs, biscuits and gravy, veggie omelettes, bacon and sausage, and warm cinnamon rolls. There was an oatmeal bar with details like cinnamon and individual brown sugar packets, plus a pancake machine. We didn't try it, but I imagine it would be fantastic for kids. We also enjoyed that they had lots of options like gluten free bread and both chocolate and regular Silk almond milks in their coolers. They had individual packets of Nutella, and yogurts in several flavors. Plus several juices and a coffee machine with decaf. The hotel also offered free copies of USA Today, a bulletin board with community happenings, and board game or two in the breakfast area. This is a great option for anyone traveling through and we'll be back on our next trip!

When you did get a front desk person they were pleasant except for the tattooed weekend girl who smirks and makes faces or laughs at you and tells you not to speak with her manager because it's a waste of your time :/ If you like yesterdays left overs then you will love the breakfast. The pancake machine was broke then " fixed" to spit out a few half dollar sized pancakes and then breaks again. It was almost comical but after getting an email from the assistant manager it made more sense. There is zero management at this facility and it shows in the lack of hospitality and upkeep.

The rooms are extra spacious a bit darker and could use a little more light. The parking is paid but you need to check that weekend parking is free, so make sure you don't overpay. Hiltons are not known for late checkout unless you have diamond reserve but we simply asked for 12pm checkout and were easily granted one. Again, any other place this would be a 4 -4.5 star but given rockford, I am giving them my whole hearted five star rating.

My room was extremely clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was spotless and very comfortable, and the bathroom was immaculate. Even areas where you might normally expect to find some dust, such as the bathroom vent, were completely clean. The kitchenette was fantastic and had everything I needed, including a coffee maker. Coffee was also available downstairs. There is a great little store near reception, and the free laundry facilities were incredibly convenient. The location is excellent. It is only about a five-minute walk to Walmart, in a nice area with plenty of other shops nearby. This hotel was very affordable for the quality, comfort, facilities, and service I received. I will definitely stay here again whenever I am in the area. I cannot recommend Candlewood highly enough!

We'll take it." But then forgot to invest in it. The lobby and halls were poorly ventilated, stuffy and humid. The elevator is oddly placed so far away that we couldn't locate it and just hauled our bags up the stairs. The room was adequately clean, except for the shower which needed to be cleaned. The blanket was not a blanket, more like a slightly heavy sheet. And the air conditioner howled all night, even when we tried to turn it off just to get some sleep. It cooled the room, but was so loud we were up half the night. Front desk lady was welcoming and got us checked in quickly. Gave us each a bottle of water which was nice. Parking was free, which we appreciated.

Unfortunately, the room was filthy, the carpet was literally sticky, the ceiling looked like it had water damage, and one of cupboard doors fell off when opened. The worst was that the GENIUS that designed the building, put the elevator at the very back corner of the building. So I was stuck carrying luggage up and down stairs because my room was at the front. (If you do dare stay here, get a high number room.) But wait, there's more... How about being DOUBLE CHARGED to the tune of almost $900?!! I overheard someone else in line complaining of the same thing so I know it's a known issue. The ultimate insult was no one could explain why I was double charged, nor would they even drop some of the incidental charges, so you know, I had money to eat. Instead, I was forced to eat the worst excuse for a BLT from the market fridge, because I had no money to buy elsewhere. I don't know how to stress enough how much this trip wore me down, grossed me out, and ticked me off. For the final act, I checked out at 530a and was told the hold would be dropped from my card & I'd have an emailed receipt "within an hour". (As I wrote this, it's been 6 hours and NOTHING.) I will also be contacting Marriott corporate because this was alllllll just not ok!!!!
