Nothing special about this place except for the location. Right off the highway and next to restaurants and night life. There's a small bar/bistro in the lobby area which is normal for Marriott hotels. It was closed when we checked in at around 8 pm. They have a little convenience store that also sells alcohol but they have to stop selling at 2 AM. Everything seemed clean except for the bug in the curtain. The pool is open until 10 pm but you have to go to the front desk for a key and reserve a 1-hour time slot. The most annoying part of our stay was the tornado siren-like sound that was coming from the bathroom shower head. It was going off every minute for 5 minutes at a time. Our toilet also clogged but when I called the front desk they said the maintenance guy left for the evening so they sent us a plunger and had to do it ourselves. Probably due to the holiday but be prepared to wait for maintenance if there are outside hours for the maintenance guy. Also note, they do not have USB ports for charging devices. You'll need a plug-in for a charger. Other than that, there are just little things: broken drawers (they wouldn't close because they were off their track), cabinet that wouldn't close because the mini fridge was too big, uncomfortable pullout bed (uneven frame). The location was not worth the price we paid, though. I wouldn't recommend or stay here again.

Jamesville was very welcoming and friendly. Clean and attractive hotel. Looks like they were remodeled a year or 2 ago. We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would stay again if in the area.

Unfortunately a family member was in the hospital so we got rooms online for this hotel. I really liked it. The check in/out process was easy. The rooms had microwaves and a mini fridge. The room was clean. The bed and pillows were heavenly AND the shades fully closed so it kept it dark. The room wasn't anything spectacular but it didn't need to me. It was exactly what we were looking for. The lobby was clean and i didn't get to eat at the restaurant but it looked nice. The pool was nice size too. Great outdoor seating and relaxing area. Every employee I spoke to was very kind and knowledgeable. I would def stay at this hotel again.

We have stayed at several Marriott hotels over the years. Unfortunately this Rockford location left a lot to be desired. Check in was fairly easy. That was the best part. Once we got to our room the first thing we noticed was a musty smell. The next thing we noticed was how dimly lit the room was. Well we figured that we would only be here for less than 24 hours so we could deal with it. The biggest surprise had to be the TV. Their TV only had analog channels. I wasn't even aware that analog channels were still available. I mean we weren't expecting satellite TV, but analog was a surprise. Maybe in some small desolate town, but Rockford has a population of over 147,000. The beds were adequate and the bathroom while again had poor lighting was spacious. We thankfully didn't spend too much time at the hotel as we had a lot planned the day that we visited however there was even a hiccup on the check out. We had asked about their requirements for an early checkout as we planned to leave around 5am. They stated we could leave the keys and give them a call. Well that call turned out to be a few calls after being transferred around. This was on a prepaid room too. After we had checked out we noticed that there was an additional charge for parking that we should not have been charged for. This took two calls before that was corrected and refunded. We have certainly enjoyed our previous stays at Marriott hotels. This was unfortunately falls short of those expectations.

Tv swivels so you can watch from the Sofa & Bed. Small but decent room

Things look a little different these days in a pandemic. But we made a good choice to stay the night h0ere as a couple. We were able to reserve a time for the pool and we had the whole pool to ourselves. They gave us a rate under $100 and a Valentines bad with suckers and candy. The room is small but it does have a separate toilet/ shower area with a sink and mirror station between. So that's what makes the room smaller. But there was clean white bedding and the decor is not awful. The shower felt great. Mini fridge and wifi included. The TV has an app section that you can sign into your Netflix or Amazon Videos and HBO was included free with the HBO app. There are cosmetic dings here and there. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would come back anytime. Oh did I mention you can get Starbucks coffee from the Bistro?!

I rate this Courtyard slightly below average when compared to other Marriott Courtyard hotels. The facility is a little dated and looks like an older Courtyard. The employees are friendly and helpful. I have stayed here multiple times and can not get my iPad to connect to the hotel's wifi. They charge an arm a leg for snacks. A soft drink, or pop for the yankees, is almost $4. A candy bar is also almost $4. This is a little steep.

I'm not one to really write reviews but I have to for this experience...... I am here on a work trip for 2 weeks and my stay has not been pleasant. The first week I stayed here I was in room 208. Whenever I was in my room I did not feel well and I developed a huge migraine. Something told me something wasn't right. So I started looking around the room and what do you know I find mold. The mold was hidden by the shades and was all in the window seal. You can tell there is mold all under the wallpaper and within the wall. I'm 7 weeks pregnant so I was very concerned. I called the desk and they sent someone up to look at it. She was a female and I wish I would have got her name. She said yeah that's not mold. The wall is just stained.... are you serious?!?! She said we will add some point to your rewards card for the inconvenience. I was appalled; here I am a property adjuster and I'm being told this isn't mold.... The lady called me back and said we don't see you have a rewards card, would you like one? (Just what I need, a rewards card for a company who lets people stay in rooms with mold). I said no and that I wanted to switch rooms and I'm pregnant and not staying in this mood. She said she would have to check and get back to me. She called back and said my room was ready. I advised I was leaving and can't switch till later tonight as I will be out for work inspections. She said she needed me out of my room so they could sell it? Sell it I said? This room has mold and you're going to put someone in the room when you know there is mold in there? UNBELIEVABLE!!!! I was told a supervisor would be calling me the next couple days. Which never happened..... so I went to talk to the front desk. She said we had someone else relook at it and it's not mold?!?! I showed her the pictures and her eyes were wide and she asked that I forward the pictures to her. This was yesterday.. Mold is a process to get out of the room. So today I walked down to get breakfast, which is extremely over priced.....and there was someone in 208....THEY HAD THE NERVE TO PUT SOMEONE IN THIS ROOM WITH MOLD. Lawsuit? I will never stay at a Marriott again and will let as many people know about this place.

Customer service is good but the building needs a lot of improvements. They said some are on the horizon so we'll see.

I recently stayed here coming and going from a visit up north with family and really enjoyed both stays. Service was great: the person who checked me in said she was there training from a location near Milwaukee - she was awesome, helpful, friendly and efficient. She went above and beyond with helping me sort out the area's anticipated weather. The hotel is larger than usual for a suburban location, fairly updated and the beds I had were the most comfortably firm I've experienced recently. All the usual Hilton Garden Inn amenities, from in-house bar and restaurant (though it did seem to be serving better food than some: everything I saw was fresh prepared, not microwaved from frozen), to updated machines in the workout area. Microwave and mini-fridges in rooms, which were typical suburban-sized for HGI. The pool area, even though it's indoor--probably a plus in this area--looked like more fun than the typical small hotel pool. Softer than usual Hilton towels were really nice. Everything was clean and checkout time is noon - bonus. Breakfast to order was complimentary for elite Hilton honors and was well-made, although the options were a little limited. Plenty of convenient parking, all of which appeared safely lit and convenient to entrances. Everything looked accessible, and since my second visit happened just after the first snow of the year, that includes that they did a quick job of snow clearing. The building is arranged with road noise in mind, but that doesn't mean that there aren't rooms more impacted than others. I had no trouble with road noise during my visits (I am an extremely light sleeper without white noise like a fan or something running): one room was on the back side of the building, but one was in the front, though on the far side from the road. Perhaps it is different on weekends, but both of my weekday visits indicated a lot of single business travelers. Pool aside, I didn't see a lot of family-specific perks. With a ton of hotel options located at this exit, this HGI is going to remain my go-to. OOPS, I nearly forgot: one of the rooms I stayed in had non-standard hotel bathtub with a curved bottom and sides, where the lowest spot in the bath was not the drain. Since, ya know, gravity, there were scour / pock marks staining the tub. It was still clean, just not the most visibly appealing. Not sure if they're all like that, but it's a drainage problem, not a housekeeping issue.

So many key elements to dislike about this place: 1) Room…read moretemperature appears to be controlled by central system so in-room controls mean little. 2) For the price, this place sure needs a lot of maintenance. For instance, the elevator is a wreck and is almost spooky. 3) Noise. This place was cheaply built with little regard to sound deadening. For instance, windows allow lots of road noise. 4) Front desk staff and management are in constant game-playing mode with room assignments to the point of being ethically concerning, especially if rates are at all a negotiated rate. I will say that the breakfast and dinner staff was very considerate and I would have added another star just for them if the rest of the hotel had not been such a disappointment. Bottom line, simply no where close to the price point they are charging.

We live 45-60 minutes away, but the weather in Illinois in the winter is so unpredictable, I would rather book a night (or two) at a hotel than drive in the snow (I have been in Illinois for 53 of my 57 years... I hate snow/winter). This hotel is always clean and the breakfast is always very good. The staff is always polite and helpful. The rooms are a little run down but we are really only there to sleep, not hang out in our room. This review is about something that happened two weeks ago. We had tickets for a Hogs game for Saturday night. I booked two rooms at the Fairfield... on Friday morning, my doctor called me and told me I would be spending the weekend in the hospital. Ugh! I went to the hospital and after I was sure I was going to be admitted and was going to be stuck there for the entire weekend, I called the Fairfield to cancel our rooms knowing I was going to have to do it at a loss (I told my family they could go without me, but they wanted to be home just in case I needed them). The front desk was sooooo nice ... she canceled the reservation at no charge and was completely empathetic. I was so bummed and I am sure she could hear it in my voice. Thank you so much Fairfield for being so kind. We will be back next season!

We were placed on the first floor across from the fitness center and around the corner from the front desk. I am assuming this is because we used our Marriott points for our stay. We have redeemed points in the past and as a gold elite member, we have not experienced a penalty for redeeming our free night. Service was great but the room was dingy and lacked a blackout curtain. Fortunately. there was a tree and air conditioning unit that partially obscured the view into our room since anyone could see us that evening from the sidewalk and parking lot. We had to change and hide out in the darkened room to preserve our modesty. The television didn't give off much light as it was the size of a computer monitor. The bed was lumpy and the sheets smelled strongly of bleach. We could smell the complimentary breakfast the minute it was put out for guests as the walls were paper thin. Fortunately, our neighbors were considerate and observed curfew hours as we could actually hear the conversations of the group staying in the room next door. This room was offered on the Marriott site for $265 - definitely not worth it. While we are loyal Marriott members, if you need to stay in Rockford, the Hilton next door is much nicer and the rooms that our family reserved there were newer and much more comfortable. Again - service was good, no complaints there but this property did not meet Marriott standards.

Our suite was clean and well appointed. I did check the sheets and mattress and found none of the issues mentioned in previous reviews. Paint seemed fresh and Yvette mentioned that new carpets are to be installed in 2026. It seems that the current owners are attempting to revitalize the hotel and event center. We also enjoyed our river view room. Although we could see the train tracks, they did not appear to be in use and we were never bothered by noise. The view provided a good vantage for New Year's Eve fireworks - which may or may not have been publicly sanctioned. The adjacent mall is still under-occupied but we didn't sense any obvious criminal activity and our car was just fine in the parking lot. We had a good time here and would recommend.
