A Mat, not needed, put pressure on the Bride to just agree! The Bricks had a Monitor Woman cruising our Wedding all nite, included herself in our reception. Felt businesslike instead of OUR PARTY. Honestly, we picked up inside & outside, cigarette butts, papers, anything to prevent not getting our deposit back. It was as nice as when we arrived. The monitor helped pick up, so we did NOT Receive our $1500 deposit. Ms. Monitor made sure! Beautiful Venue, but signer beware! The $1500 was our Wedding gift to our Bride & Groom for their Honeymoon. Very very Disappointing. Nothing we could do.

There were plenty of outlets and USB ports in convenient places. The breakfast was much above average. A large selection of hot foods, fresh fruit and other cold items, yogurt, breads and pastries. I like cheese on my scrambled eggs and there were four different varieties of cheese. The breakfast attendant was keeping the area very clean and refreshing the food. I thought of Hoffman House, which is co-located inside a hotel. We'd eaten there years ago, and their prime rib was very good. While driving north, my wife looked it up. They changed from a white table cloth restaurant to more of a sports bar theme. Their entree list was rather anemic and just not worth the trip, except they did offer Prime Rib on Saturday. We made the trip. For starters, when you walk in there is no hostess station. The bartender told us "Sit where ever you want." so we found a booth that was clean and sat down. The seating was, well worn as in worn out. The seat covers were chipping on the chairs, and the booth seating was just dead. Our server arrived and we placed our order. My wife ordered tea, and I had a Guiness draft which was properly poured. The server brought out 4 honey buns, which are light and fluffy, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and served with a honey butter blend. They are best when they arrive - HOT. (Eat them as they arrive) It wasn't very long before the main course came out. No salad was offered. My Prime Rib was ordered and served medium rare, and the baked potato was cooked properly. I was expecting some horseradish sauce with the Prime Rib - nope. My wife did enjoy her shaved Prime Rib sandwich - the roll it was on was nice, and she opted for the premium onion strings, which were tasty. Why just okay? This was a place to go for a nice dinner with your family. It has transformed into a tired sports bar. Lots of screens, but it's kind of half-hearted with regards to the sports bar theme. Servers aren't in sports uniforms, there isn't a lot of stuff on the walls. The seating is worn out and should be either refinished or replaced. It feel like they ran out of money or concepts during the conversion, and just stopped. There is nothing compelling here to bring us back.

When they found out I was travelling alone, they made an extra effort to check in with me each day and make sure I was okay. Their kindness made such a difference to my stay. My room was extremely clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The bed was spotless and very comfortable, and the bathroom was immaculate. Even areas where you might normally expect to find some dust, such as the bathroom vent, were completely clean. The kitchenette was fantastic and had everything I needed, including a coffee maker. Coffee was also available downstairs. There is a great little store near reception, and the free laundry facilities were incredibly convenient. The location is excellent. It is only about a five-minute walk to Walmart, in a nice area with plenty of other shops nearby. This hotel was very affordable for the quality, comfort, facilities, and service I received. I will definitely stay here again whenever I am in the area. I cannot recommend Candlewood highly enough!

But somehow, every time we had a problem, someone was there ready to fix it like we had just activated the Bat-Signal. And they did it with a smile, even though it was VERY obvious they were running around like their lives depended on it. Trace, the Bar/Floor Manager, was clearly doing the work of approximately 47 people at once, and yet somehow still had time to be attentive, kind, and sociable with us. I genuinely don't know how he was doing it. Man was everywhere. Craig and Colton, the Floor Managers, were also fantastic. Every time we had a question or concern, they helped us without ever making us feel like we were interrupting their already chaotic Saturday night. And then Timothy, Trenton, and Austin were equally awesome! At this point, I'm convinced they don't actually hire employees here -- they recruit people who have an unusually high tolerance for chaos and an Olympic-level ability to remain cheerful. The funniest part is that the couple of issues we ran into were almost worth it because we got to interact with all of these guys, joke around, and laugh with them. They somehow managed to turn "well, this game isn't working" into "well, at least we're having a great time." That's customer service done RIGHT. And seriously, HUGE credit to all of them for keeping that kind of energy on a Saturday night. It was busy, and I'm sure a couple of things were going sideways, and I'm sure everyone was running on approximately 3% battery -- yet they were still friendly, patient, and genuinely fun to be around.
