My 9 & 11 year old were playing in the hotel room (laughing on their iPads) and the police pounded on our hotel room door (without warning and no call to our room). It was 10:00 pm right when the pool closed, so the kids were still energetic. The officer was overly rude and intimidating... It ruined the FRIDAY night/experience for everyone. We visit Beloit often... Hampton Inn next door smells better and has a much bigger swimming pool. read more

Discriminated Against for Traveling with ADA Service Dogs I stayed at Home2 Suites Beloit, WI with my two trained service dogs (each under 5 lbs, task-trained to assist me with a documented disability). My experience was deeply upsetting and discriminatory. Check-In & Front Desk: * Told I would have to pay a pet fee, despite ADA protection for service animals * Asked questions far beyond the two allowed under ADA * Front desk staff and manager were dismissive and accusatory, speaking in front of other guests * No meaningful apology was offered even after explaining my legal rights Post-Stay Harassment: * Owner/manager Roy Ward called me personally and screamed over the phone * Call was hostile and intimidating; I have a recording for my records Review Removal & Retaliation: * I initially posted a review under an alias to protect my privacy * Hotel had it removed, claiming "no record of that guest staying here" * I know the hotel knows which guest wrote the review Summary of Discrimination: * Illegal pet fee attempt for ADA service dogs * Excessive questioning beyond ADA limits * Dismissive and accusatory treatment in public * No meaningful apology * Post-stay harassment via phone from owner/manager * Attempted erasure of my review under an alias This experience was humiliating, stressful, and a clear violation of the ADA. As part of a Wisconsin college tour for our high school senior we stayed at four different hotels in four nights over the Minnesota MEA weekend. I'm writing four reviews that compare them all to one another. All four reviews have the same opening two paragraphs, and then a paragraph specific to each hotel. Night 1 was the Drury Plaza Hotel in Milwaukee - which ranked #1 of the 4, and grades out as an "A". Exceptional staff, free parking, and a nice breakfast. Night 2 was Home2Suites in Beloit - which ranked #3 of the 4, and would grade out as a C. Night 3 was the Hampton Inn & Suites Madison East Towne Mall Area in Madison, which was #2 of the 4, and grades out as an B-. Night 4 was the Wilderness Lodge in Wisconsin Dells, which ranked #4 of the four, and grades out as a D. We arrive around 4pm and check in was a breeze. Lobby is nice and staff were efficient, though not overly warm or welcoming. Our room smelled terrible. We got used to it, but it was the smell of something bad happening, and then a heck of a lot of cleaning to make the bad thing go away, only to have some of the cleaning and some of the bad linger and mingle together. I wanted to change rooms, but my group is not one for making a scene so we stuck with it. Beds were comfy though there were no outlets near my side of the bed, which seems like hotel 101. Bathroom was okay. Breakfast was decent, though the seating area was small. It was a decent enough stay, but when I compare all four (which were all similarly priced) this one felt less like we got what we paid for. It's okay. read more

Great location in Beloit for a comfortable stay. Hotel is newer and well apportioned. Rooms are spacious and come with a small kitchen. Beds were relatively comfortable but have the same horrible small Hilton pillows. Staff is super friendly and the location is close to restaurants and shopping. Hotel is fine, clean updated/new. Staff are incompetent, unprofessional and to say the least hospitable! What a joke.... I never write negative reviews but here goes... When we arrived the vent in the shower (no connected to the light/exhaust fan etc.) was roaring like an airplane engine. I alerted the front desk that we would be out of the room if they could send "engineering"that night well they didn't. Second call same thing. Third call at 7:30am next day after a night of barely any sleeping put in another call, no one ever came. Upon check out talked to a different kid at the front desk she had no idea and told me engineering wasn't there on the weekends! You would think that's the busiest time and someone would be on staff?? Wrong! Finally get a manager, Angela she seemed pleasant enough apologized I told her to go check it out herself ?!?! and she said literally "Don't worry I promise you we will get that fixed!!!" Ok well thats great I don't live here this isn't my apartment I just dropped $180 at an off the highway hotel in middle of nowhere, thanks for the apology thats sweet. So then she goes above and says she will refund the whole stay, which I was surprised ...half even $50 off would have sufficed. Ok well thats cool. She "pretended" to show the front desk girl how to reverse the charge. Week goes by no refund.. put in a few calls only to get disconnected or told to call back again. Now here is the real reason for this review..... The women who I finally spoke to on the phone...Ann... who she is I still do not know, maybe a manager. Which if thats true whoever gave her that title needs to revauluate that decision ha. I tell her the deal, she basically wants to argue with me and explain all the rooms do that... well I had several friends there none of their rooms sounded like the boiler room of the titanic! Now let's add more fuel to the fire Ann ..she says she would have never compete the night, well Angela did she made that call thats the facts Ann whoever you are. Then I come to find out all this could have been avoided if from out of the gate they told me to contact hotels.com, which I'm glad I did because now I really had a story,,, yea the night sucked we didn't get any sleep and had to take a 4 hour flight the next day it happens, but the way these people handled it was a total joke. Maybe the local community college offers a class on public relations or maybe even business management I would recommend even watching a youtube video on how to "hold a conscious conversation" or "solutions not excuses". I'm sure they exist... well so long Beloit it was fun!!! For those of you who made it through this lengthy review I highly recommend HOTEL GOODWIN!!! Ok, so I really wanted to like this place. I reserved a suite on the hilton app for $103. We showed up at 1:30 to see if we could get an early check-in, as normal check-in is 3:00. Having silver status, this is sometimes honored. We were told our room was not ready, and that we should return at 3:00 to check in. We left and had lunch at a local restaurant. We came back to the property around 3:10. There was a shift change, and the new representative told us our room was still not available. It is clearly posted on the wall behind the front desk that check in is 3:00, and check out is 12:00. The representative couldn't give me a clear reason why our room wasn't ready. After continuous prodding, I was told that there was a shortage on housekeepers, and we had to wait. I replied that was not my problem, and I was told my room would be ready at 3:00 as clearly posted. The afternoon shift girl continued to ask who " promised" me the 3:00 time, even though they didn't have name badges on, so I couldn't give her the name of the day shift girl. I kept prodding on when our room would be ready. She told me she could downgrade me to a standard room for the same rate. NOT ACCEPTABLE! I paid for a suite! Finally, at 3:45, our room became available. I expressed to the representative that a reduction in my rate should be honored based on this experience. I asked for a manager but was told he was not on site I was offered his business card, but was no help since he was not on site and had no cell number. The room itself was large and comfortable. But the air handling unit was so loud it sounded like an aircraft carrier! Hard to sleep unless you turn it off. Temperature control was not good. Prepared breakfast was ok seeing we have these times of covid. Hotel did a good job of recognizing cleanliness and social distancing. Plus for that. We felt safe and secure. Upon checkout, I found my rate was not $103, but $121.52 (base rate before taxes). I felt this was deceptive and questioned the representative. She played on her computer but offered no resolution. We walked away without any clarity from the front desk. This property has promise but lacks direction. Minus 1 for check-in. Minus 1 for communication. Minus 1 for check-out and clarity. If you are the responsible party managing this property, get your " stuff" together. Your employees need direction, and your customers need honesty and transparency. read more

Rooms are really nice and well appointed. Have a full desk and a separate bedroom. It also has a small kitchenette with a decent sized fridge and stovetop. Check-In was quick and easy. Definitely stay here if you are in the area! read more

The hotel looks brand new. My room was large and there was a separate kitchen, that included two desks and a large bed. The room and bathroom were clean. Checking in and check out our easy. Employees are friendly and helpful. They do offer a free breakfast. Breakfast included oatmeal, yogurt, and packaged eggs. While I enjoyed this breakfast, the food was average compared to other hotels. read more

This hotel is nice enough. But the management is NOT customer-friendly. We arrived on a Thursday for a 5-night stay. As of Monday morning, our room had not been cleaned once. This was after speaking with the front dest each day and being told they would make a note to ensure our room was cleaned the next morning. We were finally given the property manager's business card and told we should speak with him. It was a Sunday and were told to call him since it was the weekend. My husband left him a message and finally heard back from him on Monday. The manager told my husband the cleaning staff said that we had a do not disturb sign on our door the whole time. My husband explained that we are very frequent travelers and know we did NOT leave a sign on the door. The manager told my husband he believed his staff. Wow. This was in spite of the huge sign on the wall in their breakfast room claiming if there is a problem, they will make it right or our charge for the evening will be refunded. The manager wanted to give my husband points toward a stay at another Hilton property in the future. So he wasn't taking responsibility at all for the poor management of the hotel. In the end, one night WAS refunded. This was not the issue - the issue was the manager's attitude toward his customers and complete lack of apology or acknowlegement something was wrong. Absolutely great experience with his hotel. I had to cancel my reservation due to a situation beyond my control. The online site and app didn't refund my payment/points. Roy the GM took complete control of the situation, and was available every time I called to follow up. He got it resolved and was incredibly professional and responsive. I would recommend this hotel 100%. I'll only reserve here next time I'm in the area. read more

I came here to spend the night and relax. I took a beer into the pool area. It was a glass bottle in a coozie. Didn't think anything about it until the manager came in walking fast at me like I was about to smoke in the boys room. He said no bottles in here. I said ok. Then he lectured me why. I said ok I get it. Then when we were about to leave he came in and and yelled you got all of your bottles right!!! Totally unprofessional as we didn't have any bottles out since. WOW! So the suites are great. The bed is super comfortable. I love the bedding etc. Nice big tv. Plenty of space. Do your research if a hotel says hot breakfast because you picture bacon and eggs but you get waffles you have to make yourself. The bath towels are sandpaper so bring your own I guess. The window is huge but with great shades to block out the morning sun. It's pitch black in here. Customer service was good. The location is very central so that's good. read more

I stayed the night at this hotel and at 1 am there was a family outside of my window being very loud and blasting music. When I went down to the front desk to ask the associate to ask them to quiet down she did so. When I got back to my room they were even louder. If you want sleep I wouldn't stay here read more

This was our first stay at a Home 2 Suites but we would definitely go back! Wonderful hospitality, clean rooms, good breakfast and they were very attentive to our group. We had a bad experience in Milwaukee last year at a different hotel chain but it left a bad impression of Wisconsin on our group. Our experience at Home 2 Suites has changed our minds.
