My husband and I attended LLR's Halloween party and it was great! They did a great job with the decorations and the band. They were very interactive and super talented. My husband & I got to hit the dance floor and enjoy ourselves. This event is underrated (or not advertised much?). It wasn't full but it was still great. The event info didn't say anything about food, only cash bar. We wish we would have known as they had a great variety of appetizers. If zero star were possible I would choose that. Apparently no one on this property dusts. The floors are gross every where, bathrooms disgusting. The lack of management and response is embarrassing for the amount they charge. The update makes zero sense, dirty white walls... everything is white no northwoods feel. While I've stayed here in the past, this review is specifically about the Easter Brunch experience for 2026. This was one of the most disappointing brunches I've ever had... Definitely the worst I've had here. Our family of 12+ has been coming here basically my entire life but they have been going downhill. Yes everything costs more right now but you can't charge more for worse options and service. So here's the good. The sausage. That's it, at least for me. Sausage was very good. I don't do eggs, but the omelet bar was well received by those who ate one. Now here's the rest. Bacon was awful, bad cook and texture. No waffles!? So they always had a waffle bar here, they would make them fresh throughout service and you could top them with whatever fun toppings you wanted... last year they were pre made like everything else but at least they still had them. This year, nothing. They had pancakes at the kids table next to the mac n cheese... sigh. No breakfast potatoes!? How do you not have hashbrowns or potatoes o Brian or something? They had some whole fingerlings in a sauce with pork belly and other nonsense, it looked horrible. And it's just not what I want at brunch, just give me some simple potatoes! The dessert options were weak. A spot labeled various mousses had, in fact, only 1 type of mousse. Some of the desserts being put out were pre packaged cookies... my drink didn't come out until I was basically done eating, which admittedly wasn't too long because there was nothing worth eating anyway. This meal was 70+ bucks a head before service fees and tip. More like 100+ after that. Not worth it. At all. I really love this venue, it's very scenic and great for holiday photos and such. Lake Lawn Resort is like a campus! This place is huge. You will most likely be doing a lot of walking, so be prepared for that. For instance, it took me a good 7 to 8 minutes to walk from the lobby to my room. It's just a sprawling place, and it's easy to get lost. I got lost each day that I was visiting. But other than getting lost a few times, my stay was amazing. I stayed in one of the suites, which has a designated sitting room, a loft with two twin beds, a full kitchen, a faux fireplace, a balcony, and a huge bedroom with a queen bed. It also had three bathrooms! This is a great place to stay if you're a large family or group. There are three places to eat at Lake Lawn: a grab-and-go cafe, a bar and a restaurant. I only visited two of these places: breakfast at the to-go cafe (the BEC [bacon, egg and cheese] sandwich was way better than it needed to be, as was the black coffee) and the bar, where I got an Caesar salad (do not recommend) and a couple of beers. I never could find the restaurant! This is what I'm saying, people! This place is huge. I'm sure there are other spots in this hotel that I didn't discover. I did find the arcade and the kid's club, as well as the fitness center. They have a number of ellipticals and treadmills in the gym, as well as weights and other equipment. I visited in the early mornings, and it wasn't crowded at all. The resort is shaped like a horseshoe, so you go from one end to the other and there are windows everywhere overlooking a lake. The building itself is kind of mid-century modern, but updated in all of the right ways. It's a beautiful place to stay. read more

I attended a wedding at lake lawn resort in February 2026 and had a great time! The hotel rooms were comfortable and large and I had a great view of the lake. The room the ceremony was held in was lovely with great natural night from the windows and beautiful wood detailing. The reception was also a fun time, especially loved the cocktail hour in the giant igloo! The food was ok, my favorite was the bacon wrapped chicken. The temperature within the resort was not regulated, with some areas super warm and others very cold. read more

Booked a room, description said 2 queen beds with a loft. Paid for 2 queen beds. When we entered the room we noticed the beds didn't seem to be queen beds. I use my truck for work, so I had a measuring tape. Beds are in fact 2 full size beds. They also are like sleeping on a rock. We called to switch rooms to the newer section upon arrival. We're told that they would call us if they found a room to switch to, never got a call back. Decided to look at the hotels available rooms online, in fact there were three available with actual queen size beds. It wouldn't be a big deal, but two grown adults sharing a full size beds, after paying $800 for 3 days two nights is a little insane. The balcony has a hornets nest, so not really usable. The AC in the loft blows out room temperature air, we have to keep the main air at 64 degrees to keep the loft cool for the kids. The refrigerator is filthy on the outside, had to wipe it down ourselves. The toilet seat was loose, and moved left and right, I had to tighten it myself. Also, we requested a room that looks over the lake, our room gets a tiny glimpse of the lake if you stand at the right angle. Last straw, no elevator in this section. Not a big deal for me, but my 70 year old mother has a very hard time walking up and down stairs. Mentioned this to the lady when we called to change rooms. No empathy at all. We also just saw a resort fee of $160 on our bank account. So $960 for 3 days with the wrong room. Not great. My mom has been coming to this resort for over 40 years, not sure if this is the last time. read more

Stayed a second time and again everything lovely. Can't believe how many nice nooks to sit in, and excellent food choices for each meal and snacks plus being right on the water and three swimming pools. Only complaint is same as last time. There are two types of pillows in the rooms. Half of them are nice soft and fluffy but are very high and too high for me. The other half which are thin enough for my neck are hard and very lumpy. read more

Updated review! Another winter staycation with the family. We booked three rooms in the Norwood wing. One was a loft with two queens down and two twins up stairs. Both levels had full bathrooms. Since we were last there, there has been major remodeling. The place looks just lovely. The first thing I noticed was the new carpet! Since it was winter, we spent a lot of time at the resort. We used the pool and the hot tub. We had snacks at the Capri Grill, a small carryout place. Sunday brunch was at 1878 restaurant overlooking the lake. Lake lawn was extremely crowded with lots and lots of families. But it didn't seem overwhelming at any point. Staff works very hard to make everybody happy. The regular hotel rooms have large sitting areas. Which was perfect for watching the football game. Mine overlooked the lake. Beautiful site! I'm glad we chose Lake lawn for our family staycation. read more

Lake Lawn is a solid destination, I can see why so many visit here frequently. The grounds are big with plenty to do, a few spots to eat and drink, two pool areas, and of course wonderful lake views! Our visit was for a recent wedding, and I'd say the resort did a great job of accommodating the big parties (on both Friday & Saturday night). They offer their big double-deck boat for use, which a large group of us went on the first night. Lovely catered buffet, bar with cocktails, and huge space on the upper deck to hang and take in the views. We also utilized their main bar space for karaoke night - a great time, run by friendly staff. The venue for the wedding itself was lovely! Set up right along the water with a long pathway leading down for the wedding party entrance. I'll say however, I feel like the hotel needs to put up signage/restrictions that doesn't allow boats SO close to the wedding ceremony. That was a bummer to see. The wedding reception was held in part outside on their huge patio which was ideal, and the dinner portion inside one of their large event rooms. All went smoothly and I know the bride and groom we're very pleased! Our hotel room was in one of the building attached to the entrance building. An easy/short walk to pretty much everything on the grounds. Rooms were nice, slightly outdated, but nice nontheless. Wasn't a fan of the bed unfortunately, as it was fairly uncomfy. Overall, great spot with amenities all in one place! I'd return for a trip with the family and bring the kids. read more

What a great spot a enjoy a fun weekend or attend a wedding / event. This large resort has everything you need from restaurants to parking to lake activities, and indoor / outdoor event space to run a large event. Consistently across the resort, the views are stunning with lots of amazing photo opportunities and the staff is very friendly, courteous, and prompt. For me, this visit felt a lot like experiencing a cruise ship amenities but on land. I liked having all these options available so that even early in the morning and late at night there were places to wander and hangout whether it be by the lake, in a courtyard, in ballrooms, or in general conference areas. This for me is one of the most unique places to hold a wedding with plenty of options that you might not see if staying at a standard hotel (gift shop, restaurant with lake view, arcade, etc.). The rooms were satisfactory though the noise from neighbors was noticeable at times -- but really from hallway noise. I like how nearby the rooms, there's generally furniture that allows for easy opportunities to casually hangout when you know others at the resort, allowing for spontaneous socializing. This is generally separated by vending / ice / office rooms that disperse the sound a bit for adjacent rooms. The food options were also generally quite good here, as the Lookout and Isle of Capri had affordable options that were in general prepared pretty well and on the healthier side. 1878 was a standout for an excellent breakfast experience with a great view. This was great not only for resort food, but amongst all breakfast options in general. Overall, good place to stay for an event or retreat with lots of options to connect with others and plenty of activities to keep yourself busy. read more

My husband and I went to Lake Lawn Resort for a close friend's wedding. The wedding was beautiful. The restaurant food was delicious. Everything else left much to be desired. There is no need to go off property to eat. We ate at all three restaurants. From wraps to breakfast to pizza and everything in between, we had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend all of the restaurants. If you have ANY mobility issues, this resort is not friendly to you. You must walk long ways to get anywhere. There are random inclines and declines everywhere. There were no grab bars in the bathrooms or showers. I almost fell many times. I don't recommend Lake Lawn Resort, and I will not be coming back! read more

Lake Lawn is A nice place for a getaway. I stayed there recently and the place was almost empty. I called the next morning to ask for an early checkout and they said it's $20 for an extra hour, $40 for 2 more hours. I've never been charged for a late checkout ever! We stayed here very recently. We stayed in the newly renovated rooms. They were very nice and spacious. Nice decor inside and comfortable. 1878 Restaurant is pretty decent. The indoor pool is not good. It is very old looking, depressing looking and very poor lighting inside. This area needs updating and renovating or least change the lighting inside. The arcade lots of the games dont work. Kinda a waste of money. We were right on the lake the view was pretty i will say that. Needs some updating in certain areas. read more

This was my third time visiting the two other times were great but this time I visited on New Year's Eve. I paid for the New Year's Eve package and they had a kids and adults party. My daughter said that the party was not worth it because there were so many younger children there. She also said she went to the arcade and did not get any prizes even though I paid $50 for arcade credit. The workers said that there was nothing they could do for the prizes because it was a third party machine. The adult party was not worth it neither was the kids party. The rooms were good we stayed in the loft rooms with two beds in the loft and one king size bed on the bottom. The master bathroom had lots of space and a bathtub. The bathroom in the loft was a little crammed but it was doable. After all the rooms were great but the New Year's Eve package was not worth it. read more

Rooms are nice and property beautiful but we stayed for 4 and no housekeeping on day 1. I walked the garage and used towels to the front desk when we returned at 10 pm after we returned to the resort. Called them at 10 am before we left to explore the area to request house keeping. House keeping did not answer so called the front desk to request fresh towels and empty garbage. Was not done when we returned over 10 hours later. Very disappointing for a resort....Rooms are cute and all remodel. Front desk staff Very accommodating but apparently short staffed on house keeping.. sheets rough, beds not really comfortable. We rented a 25' Tritoon on Labor Day weekend and it was a lovely 75 degree Wisconsin day. We had a large party coming from different parts of Southern Wisconsin - some of us ran a bit late - so late that we all didn't get on board until 45 minutes past our start time. The dock/boat attendant (sorry don't remember her name) arranged to have our start and end time adjusted. We rented a tube for the kids. We had older kids - 5 (12 and up) they really enjoyed the tube. Highly recommend. Only suggestion is more bathrooms!!!! read more

Our Annual Family Retreat for 20 We have stayed at Lake Lawn Resort every year for the last 10 years. We initially did it in the winter holiday season after Christmas but have changed to a summer one for the last five years. In general, we love the resort. This year they have apparently fixed the cellular service issue they've had forever (poor and inconsistent cell coverage throughout the resort), as it worked flawlessly for the whole trip. We rented 4 suites and two additional double queen rooms. The reservation and front desk staff is generally very helpful. Sara in particular, helped us out as we planned the activity. This year for the first time, we stayed in Shorewood East & West. Previously we stayed in Norwood, both are excellent. We also heavily book watersports activities: several pontoon, jet ski's, and and the 31 foot princess with a captain. The watersports people are excellent and very helpful. We also take advantage of the bonfire capabilities and we booked them two separate nights. They do a great job with these. We tried to book laser tag this year, but they just put in a new system and couldn't get it going for us, so they gave us some complimentary coupons which came in handy. This year we did not take advantage of the 1878 restaurant, but did use the lookout bar a couple of times. This is the one area that the resort really needs some improvement in our opinion. Some of the waitresses are excellent, Danielle in particular, was very good. We also had some less welcoming experiences. n the food side, the cheese curds are excellent, but some of the other choices, just so-so. Overall, I'm giving the review a 4 rating, but the location on Lake Delavan, the rooms, the watersports, and the activities are all at a 5 level. The outlook bar to us is what brings the overall rating down to a 4. We will keep coming back to this excellent resort year after year as some of our best family memories have come from the trips to Lake Lawn Resort. Thank you guys! read more

Not so good- I ordered food from door dash because just got in and too late to go to on site restaurant- they forgot my silverware so I called front desk even offered to buy - they would not because I didn't order food from them (even after $600 bill to stay), ceiling had a leak so dripping water. Anyone could break in no security, no plug ins for phones - totally inconvenient, and shower was half-mass and had to spray myself plus spray was like power washer and no light spray - better service at local cheap hotels! read more

Probably one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever lived thru. Stayed over two nights. Went out after the first night and came back at 7pm to a room that was NEVER TOUCHED by housekeeping. BED NOT MADE, damp towels on the floor. When we called the front desk, we were told they don't send housekeepers up for only a two night stay!!!! Talk about cutting expenses. At over $400 a night with taxes AND a resort fee, they said we have to "request" a fresh up! The front desk clerk NEVER said that. Never ever have I experienced such poor service. Exceptionally slow service at dinner and breakfast. Ribs came out Luke warm. A side note. Their " free" internet speed is 20mbs . That's unheard of today. We love this scenic and well-maintained resort. We usually stay over a couple of nights every summer. This time we just came up to rent a deck boat to do a couple of hours of tubing. Everything was super organized and the boat was perfect. Highly recommended for boat rentals! Due to nearby home construction, they've removed the mini golf course and didn't have shuffleboard equipment. I think they should re-create those amenities wherever works-- there needs to be more for older kids to do. read more

Brooke checked us in and you do have to place a courtesy hold of $200 on your credit card for incidentals. We had 2 rooms for our party. Room 1715 was king suite lodge that slept 2 ladies in loft with full bathroom & 2 twin beds, a double let out couch in living room with fireplace and a king size bedroom with full bathroom. Our room 1710 was a double Queen with 2 twin beds in a loft. It also had 1 full bath and then a half bath in loft area. There were nice balconies on both with the king lodge having a huge balcony we enjoyed the evening on. There were 2 outside pools and 1 indoor pool on the property. We rented bikes from the activity center and rode around the property. There is a golf course for the golfers. Some people had boats or rented boats to go out on the lake. Food options were scarce but there were options around and a food center on site we didn't use. We got groceries from Walmart to cook in king lodge, since we had kitchen in there. There was a mixup with one of our reservations and we had to talk to management about it. It was very upsetting but we tried not to allow that to ruin our girls trip. Overall grounds were nice and all staff were pleasant. read more

We have been coming here for years. My disappointment in the management, room cleanliness and attitude towards paying customers is huge. Upon arrival we opened our room door and it smelled horrible. The room had its heat set on 75 on an 85 degree day. Our kids rushed up to the loft and the bed was not made, food on the floor and the previous occupants room key was still there. If the heat and smell wasn't enough to shift my mood, this sure did. After checking upstairs and cleaning up, I went to the bathroom and the shower/tub had water in it and an open soap on the edge. The toilet paper was half gone and no extra. The sink had a pink/purple goo with black things in it. The floor was soaked in water due to the toilet spraying water when it was flushed. I called front desk to inform them that the air was not working, the toilet is spraying water all over and there's water all over the floor in the bathroom, food left in the microwave and would like clean sheets so I can make the beds. She seemed insincere when I explained the condition of the room and said "housekeeping will be there when they're free I'll call maintenance but it might be awhile" not a problem as long as it's done in a timely manner. Not only did housekeeping fail to come and clean, when we came back to the room whomever "fixed" the toilet used our TWO towels to wipe the toilet and floor. It was soaked and draped over the back of the toilet seat. Again, I called and asked for sheets, new and more towels and toilet paper. Once nighttime came around still nothing. I stripped the bed and we used our own blankets and pillows my kids brought. We used our beach towels for showers. I used sanitizing wipes to clean the room and surfaces as best as I could. But felt totally disgusted staying in the room and even more disgusted we were treated with such disrespect and attitude. For the amount of money it is to stay here, Motel 6 probably would have been more sanitary. read more

I grew up going to Lake Lawn. I have seen it go from great to fair to poor to great and back to just fair. We experienced several issues at our most recent stay in August. Unfortunately, we will not be returning. Below was our experience. Rooms - The rooms were ok. The banisters, light switches and balcony furniture were dirty. Restaurants - We made reservations at 1878 on the Lake. We placed our order and waited 30 min for the waitress to tell us that our entrees was no longer in stock. They also had Mac N Cheese on their kids menu, but were unable to accommodate my son's ask for buttered noodles. This would indicate that the food is not made fresh, which is shocking considering the prices. Employees - Employees seemed less friendly than previous years. Housekeeping sat on the stairs and stared at their phones. An employee at Capri was complaining about having to work. The bartender and cook got into a verbal fight regarding our order at The Lookout Bar. Grounds/public spaces - The grounds are beautiful. They are clearly putting their money into holding events and have done a wonderful job on updating those spaces. Unfortunately, I think they have overextended themselves on this and are unable to keep up with the rest of the resort. The public restrooms were dirty and the toilets had rings in them. Yuck! The Marina - This was the worst part of our trip. My daughter and I rented a waive runner and were given a faulty one - guessing the batter died or some other electrical problem occurred. We were on the lake for 10 minutes when stopped working. Long story short, good samaritans called the resort to come get us and they never came. After waiting 30 minutes the kind people brought us to The Marina. Upon arrival, two of the employees berated us for leaving their faulty equipment in the lake. Not once did they ask if we were okay or apologize. After sharing our concerns with the front desk manager, we were told the general manager would be in touch with us. We have yet to hear from her. She's new to her position this year and am guessing she is one of the reasons the resort is a disappointment. I'm hoping they make changes. It's a great spot, but we've seen this before and my guess is it will get worse before it gets better. I do NOT recommend a stay at Lake Lawn Resort. There are too many other options available. Other resorts want your business and are willing to provide you with an excellent experience. You work too hard to waste your money and vacation time on Lake Lawn Resort. read more

Last night we attended a wedding at Lake Lawn Lodge. The bartenders were great and the appetizers were amazing. When dinner came, my wife ordered a salad without cheese, due to dietary needs, our server said no problem and never returned. Dinner came and the filet was burned it was over cooked and not enjoyable. My table of 10 got 9 filets and one chicken dish, all the filets were over cooked and ruined. The Filets were well done and dry. Everyone at the table was hungry as it was now 7pm, we didn't want the bride and groom to be alerted that the food was terrible so we all just ate it. I know the bride and groom paid a lot of hard earned money per plate for the meal. The executive Chef Nico Rossi and his staff need to do better! I understand sometimes it can be difficult to make a mass amount of food. But you have to cook to the correct temperatures, even if the meals are going to be under a warmer for a certain period of time. We paid $350 to stay for the night and felt we didn't really get a good value at Lake Lawn Lodge to attend the wedding. We got up in the morning and didn't not eat at the restaurant there we decided to eat on our way home. Please do better read more

My family and I recently stayed here. I'll start by saying, there is so much potential. The space is beautiful. However, this was not a resort by any means. The accommodations were so run down and the food so bad, my parents left after one night. My family and I decided to stay since we have three young kids who were enjoying the game room (which is hideously filthy and outdated but still fun) and the pools (which were well maintained, and the staff were kind). My children's enjoyment is the sheer reason this place isn't getting one star. Our room had a ceiling air conditioning unit up in the loft that continually leaked water onto the carpet. There was a perpetual wet spot on the carpet, and a constant "drip" to be heard at all hours of the night. But the real kicker for me was the blood stain on my sheets that were supposedly clean. None of us cut ourselves nor bled while here, and this part was conveniently tucked into the corner of the bed where we didn't see it until we pulled the sheets out. It didn't look like a laundered blood stain, either. It just felt gross. And last but not least, the food is abhorrent. I mean truly something awful. In particular, the oatmeal was vile. It had a skin on the top that suggests it was served and maybe covered in Saran Wrap and left to sit until someone ordered it. It was so gelatinous and inedible. The boat rental was a fun experience. Minus the boat being a bit dirty (crumbs, a little trash from the previous renters), nothing to really complain about. Overall, this place just can't really call themselves a resort. It needs so much updating (they have whirlpool tubs with no installed whirlpool if that makes any sense. The tub is there but you can't use it bc they didn't actually install the part that circulates water, but the tub itself looks nice, and you can fill it and use it as a regular tub...) I'm sure COVID has done a number on them, and I do try to be lenient, but the blood on the sheets really did show me that they aren't keeping this place up to code. I hope they are able to turn things around in the years to come, bc like I said, this place has so much potential. We will not be returning. read more

Old, needs a lot of updates and renovations. Not worry the expensive price that you pay to stay there. Smells old too.

Nice place. We were in Shorewood East Lodge Room 1414. Lots of room with lakeside frontage. The only complaint we had was the slippery floor in the bath & shower with no grab bars. Nearly slipped & fell once. Loved the fireplace & three sliding doors to adjoining patios. Nice furniture, very comfortable. All that said, highly recommended! read more
