Lake view room. Front desk's response, "Oh well." - Balcony view showing a tree, parking lot, and part of a neighboring building with a porch and parked cars.

This place was bad. First the person working at the front desk was completely untruthful about the room. A asked if it was a lake view, she said "partial" it was a full parking lot view. (See the attached photo). I called the front desk and her response was, "Oh well." The furniture was broken. The interior was scratched up and damaged. WAY overpriced for my parking lot view room.

Disgusting-some of the bugs in our room during our two day stay
    Chicky M.

We booked this trip three weeks in advance. It was supposed to be a simple two night stay in delavan with friends. The room accommodates 7 people (3 adults and 4 children). With that said, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. We paid about $800 for two nights to check in and find that room was infested with bugs. Gross! The desk sent the manager down and he told us that they didn't have any other rooms so if we wanted to stay together we'd have to remain in the room and he comped is the night. Initially it seemed the bugs were only near the doors and not in the bedroom. However, my children woke up loaded with what look like spider bites from the room. How do I know it was from the room? 1. Saturday night I found killed and took pictures of multiple spiders in the bedroom and 2. I gave my youngest daughter a bath on Saturday night and she had NO big bites on her what so ever. Yet when she awoke this morning she's loaded with bites. We told the girl at the front desk about it and her comment was there is no manager on staff. Three days later, the manager never called or contacted us. This place just treats its guests terribly and for what I paid (even after being comped a night it's still around $400), I expected more. I could have spent the same amount of money going to lake lawn or the grand Geneva and had better service. Additionally, if your still considering this place, there is no stove in the room, you are not allowed on the piers as these are only for 'owners,' there is no atm on premise, and there are no restaurant on the resort property either. With that said, if your going to spend money at a 'resort' you want the resort feel, and your not going to get it here. In addition I was surprised that none of the locals (as we wondered into town) even knew that this place existed. I would also like to add that I posted my review on their Facebook page with the pictures and videos. Two weeks later I looked again (managers never did contact me about the spider bites) and they removed the review. I don't think my review is inaccurate, as I have pictures to support it. However beware if you look on their Facebook for reviews since they tend to remove them. Additionally, owners are allowed to write reviews (they get half of what you pay when you book) so keep that in mind if your considering this place. I'm not trying to be negative, but I don't want anyone else to have the same experience I did

Amazing resort and Super Clean. Perfect for a getaway, with or without the kids.

What a Great Getaway. Love the cozy fireplace in the 1 bedroom unit. Also the indoor pool and hot tub. Just what we needed for a relaxing weekend. Definitely top notch and super clean.

Awful communication. They do not answer the phone nor respond to emails. Wouldn't stay here again because it is horrible customer service.

Great room. Super view. Pool all to ourselves. The couch could have been cleaner, but overall really great and had a great weekend getaway

They have since changed their tune and are supposedly honoring original rates. We shall see.

My husband & I got to hit the dance floor and enjoy ourselves. This event is underrated (or not advertised much?). It wasn't full but it was still great. The event info didn't say anything about food, only cash bar. We wish we would have known as they had a great variety of appetizers. There was a good energy in the room, and we even won a prize for couples costumes!

Definitely the worst I've had here. Our family of 12+ has been coming here basically my entire life but they have been going downhill. Yes everything costs more right now but you can't charge more for worse options and service. So here's the good. The sausage. That's it, at least for me. Sausage was very good. I don't do eggs, but the omelet bar was well received by those who ate one. Now here's the rest. Bacon was awful, bad cook and texture. No waffles!? So they always had a waffle bar here, they would make them fresh throughout service and you could top them with whatever fun toppings you wanted... last year they were pre made like everything else but at least they still had them. This year, nothing. They had pancakes at the kids table next to the mac n cheese... sigh. No breakfast potatoes!? How do you not have hashbrowns or potatoes o Brian or something? They had some whole fingerlings in a sauce with pork belly and other nonsense, it looked horrible. And it's just not what I want at brunch, just give me some simple potatoes! The dessert options were weak. A spot labeled various mousses had, in fact, only 1 type of mousse. Some of the desserts being put out were pre packaged cookies... my drink didn't come out until I was basically done eating, which admittedly wasn't too long because there was nothing worth eating anyway. This meal was 70+ bucks a head before service fees and tip. More like 100+ after that. Not worth it. At all. I really love this venue, it's very scenic and great for holiday photos and such. That said, don't brunch here. It's our family tradition but we might have to find a new one...

It began on the morning of our second day. At 8:00 a.m. it sounded as though someone was sliding furniture across the floor, followed by LOUD banging of doors and stomping up and down stairs. We were in room 101, which is right off the exit toward the room. The opening and slamming of the door was completely obnoxious! The "restaurant" on the property had a menu date of early March, which means it had not been open since. I chose this location because it prides itself on the quiet serenity of an "adults only" boutique hotel. This was NOT the case. The staff had zero respect even after I texted the front desk staff about the issue. They offered us a late check-out, one free night for future use, or a gift card for the restaurant (that was not open). I declined and stated that I will leave my review accordingly and would not be visiting the location again.

She often insists on using her family discount when I check in, though I've never expected it. Today, I mentioned it at the counter and the staff applied it without issue--until a man in the back of the shop, who turned out to be the head golf pro, made a snide comment along the lines of, "That's not going to happen again." When I asked what he meant, instead of explaining respectfully, he pulled out a rule book and made a point to tell me I'm technically not on the membership and wouldn't be getting the discount anymore. It wasn't just what he said--it was how he said it: dismissive, patronizing, and unnecessarily public. I've never been rude here, and I've spent plenty of money at this course over the years. The whole interaction left a bad taste in my mouth. Even stranger, after that exchange, my cart's GPS was suddenly disabled--something I couldn't help but notice. Add in the fact that there was trash on multiple holes and it's clear the experience, and the course itself, just isn't what it used to be. Lake lawn used to be a place I loved, I won't be going back anytime soon.

It's on a family resort so of course the caliber of player isn't going to be the same as at Geneva National, but that's also kind of the point. My buddies and I played 36 here this past weekend. It's a fairly easy course- but it's in excellent condition this year considering the COVID crisis and the # of people playing daily. We found the facilites great, the staff were exceptional, and the golf was really fun. The course is in outstanding condition- it's really well maintained. Yeah, the course can occasionally get backed up, but the girls driving the beer cart come around constantly. For like $55 for 18 with a cart, it's a good price. It's not Geneva National, but it's not supposed to be. I'll definitely play here again- and a huge hat tip to everyone working here- just the nicest, most hospitable group I've seen on a golf course in forever.
