We usually stay in Lake Geneva but this summer we decided to explore Lake Delavan instead. We got a great deal on a little condo at this resort and we had a wonderful time! The staff was very friendly and attentive. We went the third week of September and luckily they still had their outdoor pool and activities going. Every other resort I been to, close their outdoor pool after Labor Day. The view was beautiful specially from their reception area. They didn't have any restaurants however their is a supper club restaurant within a 5mn walk and their sister property is within a 5mn drive and it has an amazing restaurant. They are lake front however is not for swimming but for fishing and boating, you can walk to the public beach entrance which is about a 7mn walk. read more

My wife and I recently enjoyed a wonderful weekend here. I spoke with Julia on the phone prior to our arrival and mentioned we would be celebrating our 10th anniversary. When we arrived she was at the front desk welcoming us. Julia had a lovely suite ready and on the door was a Happy Anniversary poster signed by all of the staff. I can't say enough about the kindness of Julia, Victoria and entire staff. What a clean comfy cozy and quiet gem of a place. We will surely be back! read more

Nice spacious rooms - had a bedroom with sitting room and kitchen. Beds were overly soft for my taste. Great pool. Great views overlooking the lake. Balconies overlooking the lake or the parking lot depending on choice. Relaxing stay. read more

This place was bad. First the person working at the front desk was completely untruthful about the room. A asked if it was a lake view, she said "partial" it was a full parking lot view. (See the attached photo). I called the front desk and her response was, "Oh well." The furniture was broken. The interior was scratched up and damaged. The hotel doesn't track who parks in the parking lot; so if you rent a room and the parking lot is full, there's no where to park. The rooms have stained and strange smelling carpet. Garbage front desk service, just terrible. Do yourself and your family a favor and stay at lake lawn resort down the road. Never again. read more

The resort sits directly on Lake Delavan and offers great views for lakeside rooms. In its day the resort was lovely. Today it's pretty run down and in need of a major overhaul. Worn and dirty carpet in the halls. Walls and paint chipped to name a few. Our unit's owner (323) must be a minimalist and put in a miss mosh of furniture--damaged and falling apart--very few wall hangings, and a TV in the living room way to small for the size of the room. Not warm and cozy at all. And the place was not very clean--in the unit and common areas. The pictures on the website are a bit deceiving. Perhaps there are nicer and cleaner units. Now, on the positive side, the halls are wide and well lit and the two bedroom unit we had was nice size. Good bath linens and accessories like bath and kitchen soap were provided. And we enjoyed the mornings and evenings on the patio overlooking the lake. The front desk staff was okay, but not overly friendly. Would we return? Only if there was a major renovation. read more

We spent a one night stay at the Delavan Lake Resort and we were not thrilled. I called about a month ago to reserve the room and spoke with the daytime front desk person. When it got to getting the confirmation email I spelled out the email and she repeated it back to me so I knew it was correct. A few days passed and I did not receive the email (I also checked my spam folder too and it was not there). I called again and spoke with with the same front desk person. She repeated the email again correctly so I knew it was right. A few days passed and no confirmation email from Delavan Lake Resort. We called a third time spoke with a different front desk person and found out the email was spelled incorrectly. I finally got the confirmation email after the third call. The day before the stay I called to get the check in time. I got the voicemail and asked for a call back from the Resort for a time. No one called back. The pertinent information on website was difficult to locate but we found the check in time. For a "Resort" the whole experience was disappointing. The pool was ok and the room was clean. This was a disappointment for the money, which wasn't cheap. It's one of those places where satisfaction slides up and down the value scale; had we paid $100 a night less, we would've overlooked the cracks in the ceiling or stained living room furniture. Our individually-owned condo was clean but about as stylish as a Holiday Inn room. There is no stove nor oven to our surprise as we figured cooking in would offset the nearly $600 bill for 2 nights (lake view is extra and tax is steep here). There was a full size refrigerator and microwave. I found a plug-in 2 burner stovetop but no pots nor pans to cook and the outlet near the kitchen counter didn't work anyway. The pools and arcade were clean and great for the kids, and the condo itself was clean. I had hoped the lake would be good for swimming but there's no access from the resort. So you can look at the lake, but you can't touch it from this Inn. Phooey. The locals we've met told us to drive to Lake Geneva 6 miles away if we want to swim as that lake is less weedy and nicer beaches. Lake Delavan has an inferiority complex to Lake Geneva. Still waiting for the manager to get back to me on "what he can do" in response to our calmly explaining our disappointment...I called him about 21 hours ago. This gets a 2 instead of a 1 because the grounds and pool area are lovely and well maintained and the condo didn't feel gross, just overpriced for the experience. We booked this trip three weeks in advance. It was supposed to be a simple two night stay in delavan with friends. The room accommodates 7 people (3 adults and 4 children). With that said, I would strongly recommend going elsewhere. We paid about $800 for two nights to check in and find that room was infested with bugs. Gross! The desk sent the manager down and he told us that they didn't have any other rooms so if we wanted to stay together we'd have to remain in the room and he comped is the night. Initially it seemed the bugs were only near the doors and not in the bedroom. However, my children woke up loaded with what look like spider bites from the room. How do I know it was from the room? 1. Saturday night I found killed and took pictures of multiple spiders in the bedroom and 2. I gave my youngest daughter a bath on Saturday night and she had NO big bites on her what so ever. Yet when she awoke this morning she's loaded with bites. We told the girl at the front desk about it and her comment was there is no manager on staff. Three days later, the manager never called or contacted us. This place just treats its guests terribly and for what I paid (even after being comped a night it's still around $400), I expected more. I could have spent the same amount of money going to lake lawn or the grand Geneva and had better service. Additionally, if your still considering this place, there is no stove in the room, you are not allowed on the piers as these are only for 'owners,' there is no atm on premise, and there are no restaurant on the resort property either. With that said, if your going to spend money at a 'resort' you want the resort feel, and your not going to get it here. In addition I was surprised that none of the locals (as we wondered into town) even knew that this place existed. I would also like to add that I posted my review on their Facebook page with the pictures and videos. Two weeks later I looked again (managers never did contact me about the spider bites) and they removed the review. I don't think my review is inaccurate, as I have pictures to support it. However beware if you look on their Facebook for reviews since they tend to remove them. Additionally, owners are allowed to write reviews (they get half of what you pay when you book) so keep that in mind if your considering this place. Not a huge place but it was right off lake. We had a 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom room reserved. Each room has different furniture as they are owned condos. The second floor has a sitting area near the front desk and a bar that was not used the entire stay. All rooms have a kitchenette with coffee pot fridge and microwave. No stove. The rooms were clean as well. The 2 bedroom had a full size bed in each room and the living room couch folded out to a bed. Neither option was very comfortable. We had an issue with the door lock in the 1 bedroom so we had to move to another room which was not a updated. We woke up one night and the night water was off for some reason for the entire resort. The resort has a small game room with an indoor and outdoor pool. The staff was not great but not terrible. I would most likely check out the other resort across the lake before coming back to this place read more

Wanted a 4 day getaway with young kids that had pool , but could have a one room suite. Picked this spot and was very happy. Front desk staff / aka maybe owners during the day are very nice. They even upgraded us!!! It was during the week, so not so many people here. Beds, very comfy. Room clean. It is showing its age, so they will need to stay on top of that. Maybe new bed spreads , deck we had needs some work . Pool is Awesome!!!! And right on lake. Indoor and outdoor and hot tub! Fireplace in living room. Love! Get Lakeview for sure! Oh..., it has kitchenette, but no stove . That is fine, but next visit I am going to pre make Mac n Cheese to just heat up. There is a toaster. Lots of plates, glasses , plates. The outside is beautiful! The service was excellent and very friendly! The room and halls were spotless and the wrap around patio is huge! We were not facing the pool. The cons- the indoor pool and whirlpool were clean and great. The outdoor pool was filled with twenty something's and lots of drinking in the pool and it was filled with some kind of frothy substance with floaters all over the edge of the pool. It looked like vomit. The water was very foggy and just gross. This is our first time here, we were so impressed until we went to the outdoor pool. We will try it again and hope this is just a one time deal. read more

I have stayed here many times however the Management personnel at this property are total garbage. The employees at front desk are useless, rude and unhelpful. The cleaning of the common areas and rooms are not sufficient. The units have been horribly maintained and barely have any amenities like dishes / utensils etc. And the units with 'upgrades' means cheap laminate flooring added if that... All this said the pools and game room are great for kids. The grassy area by the lake is nice as well. Much more should be expected for the cost. I would not refer this place to friends. read more

We had a great time. This hotel is excellent for groups needing multiple rooms (we had a 2BR which had bedding for up to 8), and is good for kids as it has a game room and 2 pools. We have stayed here and at Lake Lawn and, frankly, enjoyed this a bit more given that its more compact and relaxed. Rooms face west with sunset views, each unit is individually owned so expect some variation in room quality, but ours was nice and with walkout access to the resort's sand beach area. 3 doors down from a supper club, and bring your own drinks allowed at the pool (in cans). Front desk staff was very helpful and responsive. read more

I made a reservation through Travelocity for this HOTEL in January and requested a particular suite. When I checked in, I was given a standard suite and was told that was what I requested. It wasn't. But whatever - suite was nice enough. I had also made a reservation for another suite for other family members through the hotel website. When I checked in to both of these suites I was also charged a "resort fee". No where on Travelocity or their website did a I see this charge listed. I questioned what exactly does this RESORT fee cover when they list themselves as HOTEL? I would expect resort amenities, such as a golf course, tennis court, etc., and besides the indoor and outdoor pools and hot tub, that was it. The fee was for the internet and parking I was told. I don't use hotel internet service but I did park my car in their parking lot so I guess I had to pay for that but you would think they would at least offer free parking if you're staying there. This resort fee business has become common practice now and it seems to me to be a way to advertise hotel rooms at a cheaper rate and then tacking on that resort fee when you check in to make up the difference of what they really need to charge to begin with. Not liking this! No restaurant on site. Supper Club down the road you can walk to and was very good, but we had to drive to get to a place for breakfast. Hotel was nothing spectacular. read more

It was the second time staying at this resort and it did not disappoint! Love the layout of these condos, with fireplace in the living room, balcony, windows, separate bedrooms, two baths! This resort is clean as a whistle and I looked for dust, but never found anything. Very calming place and there is the Village Supper Club which is a throwback, but has decent food, especially the Friday night fish fry! Stay here and you will not be sorry! At the last minute we pulled up to this hotel looking for a room and they had one available and it was reasonably priced for the area. We were expecting to pay more. The biggest surprise was the room. HUGE! A suite with a full kitchen, separate bedroom, two flat screen TVs and a fireplace. CLEAN! We were very pleased. The staff were all very friendly and the entire place was very well kept. Highly recommend this one! read more
