WOW! So much value for what you pay!! We chose Heavenly Night to stay in. The room was clean and tidy upon entry. All instructions were clear and we had no problem with the fireplace or Jacuzzi tub. The turtle cheesecake is a MUST order. So delicious. The ambiance was so romantic for a winter get away!! Breakfast was delicious and nutritious. Very lovely quaint place! Stone Grotto room was perfect, everything I pre-ordered was here waiting! The decorations were amazing and the jacuzzi tub was very cozy! The fireplace was an awesome warm touch! Couples swing chair on the patio with a nice view. Parking right in front with very little travel to bring things from the car. The room is worth the price, probably below market for a B & B. Only note it's not a true B & B, no live hot breakfast, maybe before Covid there used to be? But the refrigerated breakfast was ok, nothing filling or spectacular. Added the cheesecake and it was definitely worth the extra $$! read more

We stayed at this lovely Bed & Breakfast and also had our small wedding here in March. They have several small wedding packages to choose from and everything that was provided from the flowers to the cake to the food was top notch. They didn't skimp on anything! The owner and staff were all friendly and accommodating and every detail was covered. Our guest room was large and comfortable, the newly-remodeled bathroom was terrific and we loved the fireplace for some romantic snuggling on our Honeymoon. And as far as breakfasts go, this one did not disappoint. They had a variety of hot and cold items and everything was delicious. The biscuits and gravy were super with plenty of sausage in the gravy! We will be coming back for many anniversaries to come and look forward to trying some of their other cute guest rooms (which we toured before we selected the Log Cabin as our very own honeymoon suite). read more

The grounds are very well maintained and we enjoyed sitting in the screened in porch while waiting for our room to be ready. The staff was very friendly in the room very clean on arrival. This place is certainly old and dated but if you want new and modern go to one of the resorts scattered around Lake Geneva. This place is a gem. The folks here are five stars. The grounds surrounding the B&B are five stars. There's so much character here. On the day we were here they served little tiny kitsch for breakfast that were like breakfast candy. The room was fine. Included in the check in was a bottle of cheap wine, chocolate covered strawberry's. They had a couric coffee maker for the morning after drinking the wine. Loved the jacuzzi and the fireplace. It's certainly tucked away from the busy Lake Geneva area and I like that for a change. I'm a fan. read more

As soon as we arrived, Strike 1: We weren't informed about the change in breakfast policy. The sad, cold breakfast was wrapped up in the fridge. It isn't something we'd eat. We expected the usual hot sausage and eggs with warm fresh sticky buns delivered to our room in the morning. The hotel stated that due to COVID, a switch to a cold, complimentary breakfast was implemented. Where was my discount from the usual high rate of $250 a night, then? There wasn't a discount. Are we pretending the cost of the breakfast isn't included in the rate? We both felt this was a slap in the face. The hotel claims we were informed in the follow up email upon booking. I checked that email, and there was a single sentence which read: "Complimentary breakfast and beverages will be in mini fridge." I didn't see this, I didn't confirm this, and no one reached out. Thirty minutes into our stay, Strike 2: Don't expect to watch tv using the wifi they provide. Attempting to stream Hulu & Netflix on the outdated smart tv left us with constant loading errors and a frozen screen, we couldn't watch our favorite shows. Disappointing. An hour into our stay, Strike 3: We had a beautiful stone shower in our room. I was really excited. There was also a space heater placed on the ground of the bathroom that had a sign that said we could not turn it off. The shower had no walls, and no adjustable shower head, so while the shower got to the appropriate temperature, we held on to the shower curtain to control the water, but the water still pooled uncontrollably onto the bathroom floor. We quickly moved the space heater onto the counter, and hope the Inn realizes this is a potentially fatal hazard. What if we had been drinking and not noticed? Or if we were old and not fully with it? We tried getting into the shower, and as soon as the water hit the stones, the foul and unpleasant odor of a dirty aquarium came out of the stone wall. My fiancee gagged, could not stand the smell, and had to get out without being able to take her shower. We decided to stay positive, and go out for brunch the next day, so we got in bed. The Final Straw: We quickly realized that the ground lights illuminating the pathway and patio outside could not be turned off, and there were no curtains to block the light from outside. The light flooding into the room through the blinds prevented us from falling asleep. Simply adding some curtains would provide guests with a dark room to sleep in. In addition to this, the sheets smelled like cheap commercial grade laundry detergent I can only compare to the smell of a hospital room. Both my fiancee and myself were terribly itchy from the sheets. We were so uncomfortable that we left the inn and drove an hour home, exhausted at 1 in the morning. We left a note and a voicemail explaining that we were unsatisfied. The Bed and Breakfast's Response: In response to our written note explaining the issues with the room, the hotel staff member insinuated: 1. We are stupid. (stating "you know there are blinds in the room, right? And you can close them?") 2. We are liars. (stating "We get requests from our guests to buy our sheets because they are so comfortable, we've never had a complaint like that before.") 3. Our needs are unreasonable. (asking in a condescending and irreverent tone about our problem with the sheets, "are you guys just really sensitive, or something?") 4. We are crazy. (Because we don't want to sleep in a room that isn't dark) The owner decided to refund only $100 of the $500 dollars we paid, explaining that her taking our money was appropriate because of a cancellation they agreed to make at no cost in October of 2020 (due to us testing positive for the Coronavirus). We simply want to be heard, and to receive the decency of a refund from this Inn, but instead the organization has insisted on keeping $400 of ours that we worked very hard for. We want to warn anyone considering coming here-- it's not worth the money. Please find another place to stay. read more

Unbelievable experience, I will go as far to say best B&B I've ever stayed in!! Each suite with it's own design, it's very hard to choose. Now obviously these rooms are geared towards woman, but guys... really, think about how romantic you look by booking one of these. A fireplace, candles, music, some champagne, a bubble bath, and the best part is that they set it all up for you. Everything you need to get a little chica chica bon bon, e rrr e rrr, hubba hubba, a game I like to call hide the pickle, if you know what I'm saying. Really you don't even need to leave the room. A microwave and a min frig with popcorn, hot chocolate, cappuccino, and chocolates all in the room already. Plus they make breakfast in the morning and I bet they will bring it up to you if you call. Some rooms even have a TV and VCR (yeah I know VCR, they are old school). Prices are high but it's all worth it. Check it out, it's Nick approved. read more

The Lazy Cloud was the perfect place for a girls weekend. We enjoyed sitting in front of the beautiful fireplace, while sipping on wine and laughing for hours. Our rooms each had a microwave, Keurig coffee maker and a mini-fridge (came in handy for our snacks). Other thoughtful items in our rooms was a corkscrew/bottle opener, lighter, bottled waters and most importantly....chocolate covered strawberries!!! Taylor checked us in and made us feel welcome. She gave us a tour of our rooms showing us how to use the fireplace and offered to answer any questions we had. The Lazy Cloud offered a buffet breakfast the following morning which included a wide variety of juices, cereals, oatmeal, yogurts, homemade granola, sausage, hash browns, and all the fixings for breakfast burritos!! The buffet had a Belgium waffle maker and fresh fruit to boot. But the showstopper had to be the homemade, gooey, cinnamon rolls!! The cinnamon rolls alone are reason to book your room(s) now. In conclusion, the Lazy Cloud offers the perfect place in an idyllic setting. The staff and owners are friendly and personable. Looking forward to reserving some time there in the spring or summer months to experience the English gardens. read more

My wife and I did a weekend get away in the Tiffany Suite. The room was great! The whirl-pool was clean, and the breakfast was delicious. My favorite part (besides my wife) was the scavenger hunt. My husband and I stayed in the Blue Moon suite. I've never stayed at a bed and breakfast before so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was nice. The front desk lady took us to our room and showed us how everything worked - the jacuzzi, fireplace, what was complimentary in the fridge and what we'd pay for if we wanted and so on. It was a nice personal touch. The room was a good size and we enjoyed ourselves. My advice is to bring your snacks/drinks. There's no vending machines like in a hotel. They do offer muffins for breakfast, which are already in your fridge. We went out to breakfast and brought our muffins home. There is wifi but it was spotty with my phone. However my laptop had a great signal. My phone didn't have service but my husbands work phone did so that probably depends on your carrier (if you have AT&T you're good). The inn is a little bit away from downtown Lake Geneva. Which was fine by us but if you want to be in the heart of the town, this is not the place for you. It has a very secluded feel even when there's other people staying there. We only saw once other couple and that was at check inn. Hopefully we will make our way back there one day! read more

Wonderful, quiet, romantic bed & breakfast. I frequented this place with an ex--always the Tree House room. The deck is built around a tree, and there are lights and fake vines and birdhouses... it is a little tree house get-away complete with a circular fireplace in the middle of the room, hot tub, and two reclining lazy boys perfect for reading or napping. There is so much to do in the area... my favorite was a tour of Yerkes Observatory (see me review). This place is as good as it gets. I still have dreams about the caramel apple pie baked in a paper bag... to die for. read more

The previous owners from back a few years ago were so much more involved and friendly. Upon check out the man checking us out barely talked to us didn't ask us how our stay was or anything. The place is up for sale and I believe this is the second time it's being sold at least. I just didn't get as much of a warm and friendly vibe as I used to years ago. Rooms need some updating the carpet is old. The beds and tubs are nice but the decor needs some updating. Bed and breakfasts have more personal touches than a hotel offers and I miss some of that with this place. read more

The definition of cheese. I swear, everything about this place was heart-shaped, flowery, lace, or all of the above. That said, it was the classic romantic getaway in every sense of the word. Imagine everything you need for the perfect night and they've got it. Chocolates. Check. Romantic music. Check. Champagne. Check. And the list goes on and on. The amount of attention they pay to the smallest detail is incredible. In terms of the overall ambiance, it was very old-fashioned and cottage feeling, but my boyfriend and I loved it. Sometimes you need a break from all the sleek touchscreen appliances and gadgets we have in the modern world. That said, it is a little pricey for a B&B, and I would have appreciated real plates (rather than paper plates) and cutlery in the room. My husband and I stayed in the Log Cabin room a few weeks ago, mid-week. We loved the room, although beware that the set up in the bathroom is quite interesting. It actually just made us laugh and won't stop us from going back to that room. We thoroughly enjoyed the two days we were there. The room has a great location on the grounds. We found the staff very friendly. Breakfast was quite adequate - a nice assortment of food. We enjoyed reading the journals and playing the money game. We played bags and horseshoes, which were just a couple of the games they have on the grounds. The day we were leaving, we were shown some vacant rooms in case we wanted to stay in a different room for our next visit (which there will be!) And it's nice and close to all the activities going on in Lake Geneva. read more

We spent half of our honeymoon here and LOVED it. Beautiful, rustic rooms. Wine and apple pie awaiting you, full breakfasts in the morning, big beautiful beds and the whirlpool tub, and to top it off the grounds are beautifully manicured and adorable, with double hammocks scattered around. My boyfriend and I just returned from this magical B&B. After spending two amazing days here, we did not want to comeback to the hustle and bustle of Chicago. We were warmly greeted by Kim. She promptly checked us in, gave us our champagne and keys. Then gave us a tour of the suite. Kim and every member of the Lazy Cloud staff were extremely helpful with a smile on their faces (even when my love burned the microwave popcorn and he asked for another bag, they kindly gave him not one, but two bags). We absolutely fell in love with our suite from the moment we stepped in the door and saw the huge jacuzzi surrounded by mirrors, a gas fireplace, cozy reclining love seat and the suite that was decorated with beautiful little touches. We loved the complimentary champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, homemade raspberry chocolates, cocoa and popcorn. The bed and love seat were very comfy. The large jacuzzi was definitely the highlight of our stay. We spent hours soaking in the bubbles, drinking champagne and gazing into the fireplace. FYI: My boyfriend is 6'3 and fit comfortably in it. We also loved that our breakfast was delivered right to our suite with a smile and "good morning". Kudos to the owners of this fine establishment. The entire Lazy Cloud B&B experience was peaceful, relaxing, romantic and pure bliss. This is one of the most romantic, secluded getaways I've ever been on. We cannot wait to return and stay at the Inn part of Lazy Cloud during the warmer months. read more

We have stayed here many times. This stay we stayed in the Mossy Glen suite. This and the Stone Grotto suite are in a separate building off of the main inn which looks like a strip motel they renovated. Which I think is both charming and brilliant. The suites are quiet, you can't hear other guests besides some banging around, presumably the doors to the bathroom and closet. The beds are extremely comfortable. The game Enchanted Evening is very fun. The fireplace is easy to operate. The room itself is very clean and they add nice touches like hair ties for the whirlpool and a travel hair dryer. Always a fantastic stay. Very romantic. The only complaint I have is that the rooms are starting to get dated. For 235 dollars a night some updates could be beneficial. We love lazy cloud! Me and my husband have now come back here the past two years and plan to keep coming back! I can't say anything on any other rooms besides The Enchanted Tree House! The grounds are nice to walk around and they have a few hammocks which we liked to lounge in :) After a few stays, they even give you a special deal for the next stay! Sad that it seems like they are starting to take away some of the special quirks and things that made this place unique, I hope they don't take away more of those love letters or journals or doilies we and many others have kept there, so special and unique! It is what makes this tree house enchanted and romantic! We love the fireplace and the whirlpool tub! Loved this place! Very cozy and comfortable. All of the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. My wife and I got married in their lobby and they went out of their way to make our small ceremony everything that we wanted and needed. They added small little personal touches (decorations, bouquets, cake/pie, and champagne toast) that made our wedding feel warm, inviting, and just perfect. I can not say enough good things about Lazy Cloud B&B! My husband and I were about to get married in a small ceremony in Chicago where we live. We wanted to take a quick little getaway after for a couple days before we had to go back to our jobs. I researched many little hotels and B&Bs to try to find the right fit for out mini-honeymoon getaway. Finally I made reservations at Lazy Cloud not knowing what to expect (you never can tell from just looking online, after all!) we arrived and instantly the place started to exceed our expectations! The woman who checked us in was super friendly and helpful. We asked for her recommendations on places to eat and see and she was very helpful offering a variety of options for our day and evening outings (we ate at and saw quite a few of the places she mentioned and were pleased with them all!) The room we got was stunning! It looked like an old cozy cabin on the inside. It had it all! Comfortable bed, fireplace, hot tub, sparkling wine, chocolate covered strawberries! It also had little fridge (which came in handy for the to-go containers we took back from the restaurants we ate at), coffee maker, little radio to enjoy some romantic music on, and a cute romantic couples board game called "An Enchanted Evening". Breakfast was a continental type breakfast that we enjoyed on the patio outside of our room while taking in the serenity of the secluded area. Boy, is this place romantic. Imagine the hedonistic pleasures of a Sybaris (whirlpool for two and fireplace in each room) surrounded by so much "country charm" decor that the "oogy factor" is nonexistant. The place showers you with treats -- apple pie, chocolate truffles, a bottle of wine -- when you arrive, so you feel completely pampered and taken care of. A perfect spot for a proposal, fellas. First, I will say that the staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, and everyone there genuinely wanted us to enjoy our stay and make us comfortable. Seamless check-in/out. That being said, I wouldn't return to LC. The facilities are older, and pretty run down. We stayed in the Vintage Lace room, which is carpeted, and has a giant jacuzzi tub in it. I kept thinking about all of the mold and mildew that had to be living in the old carpet. Everything in our room felt a little damp and musty. We had a fair amount of spiders and ants in our room, including near and on the bed, which left me uncomfortable leaving things on the floor. The room is on the ground floor, so I understand that some of this will happen, but there were a fair amount of cobwebs and spiders, which suggests that regular, thorough room cleaning doesn't happen quite as frequently as it should if bugs are a known and expected issue. The shower in the Vintage Lace room is pretty small and worn, and there wasn't really any counter space to rest toiletries. Unfortunately, housekeeping failed to stop at our room after the first night, despite putting out our "service please" door hanger first thing in the morning. I'm not opposed to rustic, and have stayed in similar, older, rustic facilities which were better maintained and cleaned. This was more rustic than romance, which wasn't our main goal (we were there for a local event), but everything felt a little less clean and maintained that I would have liked. High-season pricing meant we were paying more for this room than nice rooms in downtown Chicago; for the price, the facilities were extremely disappointing. The business is currently for sale, so hopefully the next owner will invest in some much needed updates. read more

First and foremost let me say that this is a quite place and we had a very romatic getaway. There are however a couple of items that I think they could improve upoon given the price point. For reference we stayed in the Gazebo Suite. The layout is nice with the jaccuzi and fireplace in a seperate but adjoining room from the bedroom. 1] The owners are very nice and check in was quick and easy 2] The room was very clean. The decorations were a bit cheesy and did not think certain items were needed expecially the bird houses hanging on the bathroom wall. The bathroom is small and everytime I turned around, I kept hitting the darn things. I was afraid I would knock one off and it would break on the floor so I took them down during our stay and hung them back up before we left. 3] The bathroom as mentioned was small and was lacking hot water and water pressure when showering in the morning. The toilet was a bit out of whack as the seat would not stay up but was not a big deal. 4] The buffet breakfast had a variety of selections and all that I tried were good. The only thing missing was bacon or sausage to go with the waffles. Ok, now for the two complaints that resulted in the 3 star rating vs. a 4 or 5 star. 5] When you check in they give you a choice of sparkling wine, regular wine like a Chardonnay, or non-alcoholic sparkling wine. Let's just say the selections are NASTY!!! We're talking Charles Shaw [2 buck chuck] quality. I was like, 'You've got to be kidding me!' At $250 per night, I would think they could afford a decent $10 bottle. Especially since Lake Geneva has an awesome local wine shop called 'Pop More Corks' which offers many excellent wines in the under $10 category and would probably offer another local buisness a volume discount. 6] The heater in the room was right by the bed and had a strange on/off cycle. Sometimes it would start and then stop after only a minute or two and other times it would run for 5 - 10 minutes. Even with the fireplace off and the heater set as low as it would go, the room was still warm. After a couple of hours of listening to it, I got up and turned it off so I could get some sleep. 7] This last item is not a complaint, just an FYI for anyone thinking about staying. Make sure to take a good selection of romantic music. The selections in the room was stuff my parents would listen to and not necessarily romatic depending on your musical tastes. Also, they do not have WiFi in the rooms so internet radio is not an option. read more

The front desk staff was so rude and argumentative, that my friends ended up walking out the door and staying elsewhere. Lazy Cloud Lodge desperately needs to work on their customer service. This place was a cute little get away for my husband and I. We had our small honeymoon there and we plan to go back for our anniversary. It was a nice place to relax whether we were inside or outside, and they have great customer service! From the complimentary bottle of wine to the individual chocolate they had waiting on the nightstand, they think of it all. This place is not far from the lake and its very quiet, they have a very beautiful garden, good place to relax! dvd is allow to rent for free if you feel like wanna see some movie..I suggest ordering their picnic basket dinner meal for two, I had the ribs and it tasted very good! It also included dessert, 3 blocks of cheeze, crackers, shrimp cocktails, bread and salad, and it only cost 55-60bucks, and we didn't even can finish them all! Each of night they will give you a bottle of wine or champange of your choice, dessert and Godiva truffles, and breakfast delivered to your room! If you wanna have a budget quality get away weekend, Lazy Cloud always is the best choice! read more

I forgot to check in at this location but won't forget next time I am there this place is fantastic. I didn't know what to expect since I had never stayed at a B&B before but this location actual exceed my expectations. It is Warm and cozy. The inn keepers staff Sandy and Rob were the best along with the other staff members, they truly make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as the can. I will definitely be going back. Each room has a Jacuzzi for two with a fireplace. The rooms are spacious and each room had a different theme. They spare no detail unturned like a chocolate candy every day in your room and you can even have dessert and coffee or champagne in front of your fireplace in your room or the common room. The continental breakfast was great with their famous home made sticky buns and home made granola. They have so many things to choose from and you can enjoy them in your cabin or you can have the buffer in the common room. Oh yea they also greet you with a complementary bottle of wine or champagne. I was told that they even decorate ever room with s Christmas tree during the winter and in the spring and summer the grounds flowers are just so beautiful to look at. Again I can't wait to release at their location again and what so great also it is not too far from Illinois. So this is a nice tomato get away for anyone. The only downside to me... Well maybe not a downside I just never experience being in a room for several days without a tv, or phone but I guess that is the point to just explore your time together and put the outside world away for awhile. My wife and I have been here twice in a 6 month period. It is so great here. It's a cozy little cottage style place. We have stayed in the Tree house suite and now in the Brandner suite. Both were prefect. Fire places and a two person tub. This place is very old fashion, but it is a great way to have an affordable break from the real world. The garden is beautiful and with a big chess board! Downtown Lake Geneva is a couple miles away with tons of things to do. The staff here is wonderful, so sweet and they actually care about your stay here. They deliver breakfast in the morning too! Also offer a bottle of wine with your nights stay here, not a lot to choose from, but still very good. The only problem I can see people having is that there is no tv or phone in the room itself. I personally did not care because it was nice to actually pay attention to my wife. You get to spend quality time with your loved one it is just great. I would suggest this place to anyone! read more

This place is very very cute. I have really only been to a bed and breakfast once before and I was not a fan but decided to try it again on a short weekend jaunt to Lake Geneva. I was very pleasantly surprised. We stayed at the Beachcomber room and though it was small, it had everything that was promised. Jacuzzi, fireplace, location. What is nice about this place as opposed to the other bed and breakfast is that the rooms are separate. Once you check in, you can come and go as you please without worrying about disturbing the owners. The hot tub very comfortably sat 2 people. You got a delicious dessert and bottle of champagne with the room. The only thing is that i recommend this for couples only because there is no tv in the room and it is very very small so be prepared to be intimate. Luckily, that was the point of this trip so it worked out quite well. The managers of the BB were very friendly and happy. Breakfast the next morning was a very simple affair but did the trick. Lazy Cloud was recommended to my husband and I so we went there recently for our anniversary. The staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Log Cabin room. We loved the Whirlpool bath and the room was spacious. The grounds are well kept with beautiful flower gardens and was very peaceful and quiet. We had our breakfast outside which was so nice and relaxing. We enjoyed the complimentary wine and cake (even though we had ordered the chocolate covered strawberries). On the downside, the room was not soundproof. Behind our bed apparently was the next rooms bathroom and we heard the guests while they were in their bathroom. Eek.. The other side of our room was the common area where people could watch TV (there are no TV's in the rooms). One night we heard the TV all the way from our bedroom. We don't know how the bathroom is in the other rooms, but in the Log Cabin room, the design is very poor. The sink is in a corner of the bathroom and above it is a cabinet. The sink is very, very small and is almost entirely under the cabinet. After brushing your teeth, its very difficult to spit out your toothpaste (sorry but need to be descriptive here) and have it land in the sink unless you bend way down which for me, with a bad back, was difficult to do (but I did it). The only thing keeping the shower water in the shower area is a two inch rubber ledge. So more often than not, the water would end up flooding the bathroom floor. Also our towels were not changed. We had the same green towels the entire 4 day weekend. Were we suppose to put them on the floor to let them know we wanted new towels? If we were, there was nothing, no note telling us to do so. Finally, the breakfast was the same every day. We have been to other bed & breakfasts and maybe we are spoiled but not only in our experience were the breakfasts different everyday but they were very creatively prepared and delicious. So overall, we were a bit disappointed and unfortunately won't return to Lazy Cloud. We love the Lake Geneva area and will try a different bed & breakfast next time we are in town. read more
