It's very rustic and charming inside this place and very speakeasy. The hostess and the servers definitely are playing a role. For dinner, we started with the cheese curds and bruschetta flight. Both were quick and a perfect start. For the entrees, we ordered the NY Strip and Lobster Ravioli and also a creamed spinach side. All in all, food was good. The service was great and the whole experience was fun. There was some entertaining decor on the walls of the washroom!

It is a really cool place. You can tour the floor with all of the hats you can try on and items to look at. We had a piano player which was nice. And yes I tried on some hats! For an older home it was very nice. You park on one side of the lot as the other is for guests. Outside in the front yard was spots for pictures as we went around Halloween. The selection was decent. Cold salad items and peel and eat shrimp. Sweet side with small cakes, chocolate eclairs, etc. The hot bar had beef, bacon, sausages, eggs potatoes and some other items. You can order eggs Benedict with the waitresses which was delicious. A true mimosa breakfast, I will return when I go back.

My wife and I stayed here on March 24, 2023. I had promised a review, and this is long overdue!…read more I wanted to take my wife for a romantic weekend, back to where I proposed to her 10 years ago, in Lake Geneva. We had a wonderful evening and breakfast at the TC Smith historic Inn. These days, classic B&B's are harder and harder to find. This one is the real deal! We had a lovely private bedroom, and a spacious private bath complete with whirlpool tub and shower. The owner, Maureen, is a real sweetheart! She knew that it was my wife's birthday, so she had fresh cut flowers and balloons in our room. That was a nice touch and very unexpected! We were her only guests that evening, so we had Maureen all to ourselves the following morning at breakfast. Breakfast was wonderful, with homemade pastries and multiple courses. I agree with another reviewer - Maureen knows the true meaning of "Hospitality". What a treat! Did I mention she is a sweetheart? I've read some other negative reviews about issues with dogs, clutter, etc... We experienced NONE of that. If you're looking for a "modern" or "contemporary" stay, book an airbnb. If you want to stay at a historic, classic inn that's true to it's time period, consider the TC Smith Historic Inn! Tell Maureen we sent you.

The egg soufflé portion was small and there were no extra servings. The price was reasonable and it was a nice place to stay if you like peace and quiet.

Don't be fooled by the poor reviews, this place is great…read more To those who said it's derelict or shabby--it's a Victorian era home, you guys. It's from the 1800s and it's in amazing condition considering that age. If you don't want all that goes with staying in a cool historical building, get a room at the Hilton and call it a day. Okay, rant over. Now the good stuff. We stayed in the veranda suite for a long weekend and it was WONDERFUL. The room is lined almost entirely in bookcases with cool old books to be perused and enjoyed. Upon check-in the man who greeted us and provided our key was the sweetest of guys and the rest of the weekend we were left in peace. No intrusive keepers here! We were greeted by a small basket of fresh local apples when we arrived and while it's a small gesture, it was well appreciated (there was a rosy apple with pink flesh in the mix that I'm newly obsessed with). There was a coffee/tea station outside our room, wine glasses to be used at our leisure, silverware, fridges in the room and outside of it for our restaurant leftovers, and a wet bar in the room itself. Amenities were few but thoughtful. And honestly I appreciated not having a ton of unnecessary bells and whistles. Ultimate highlight besides the cool library vibe: THE VIEW. the room comes with its own private porch with table, chairs, and porch swing where you can look right out onto Lake Geneva. No buildings stand in the way. You're right there on the lake. Very romantic with a bottle of wine and the fall rain we had while visiting. Definitely a deal maker. Location! We were walking distance to everything good. You're mere steps away from the harbor, restaurants, and the downtown. We walked everywhere with ease. The keepers of the villa offer free parking, as well. No parking hassles at all!! The only things i didn't *love* about the place were the size of our shower (way too small, I bumped my elbows constantly) and there is a moderate amount of noise from people walking upstairs from you (old house floorboards, after all). That being said, what you get with the Inn far outweighs those minor inconveniences. I'd definitely stay here again.

Bed was comfortable, living room/kitchen area was nice and the view is spectacular! I would stay here again for the view alone. The hotel was also nice and quiet/relaxing. Disappointing stay at Bella Vista…read more I was really looking forward to a peaceful and relaxing stay at Bella Vista Suites, but unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. When I arrived, the bathroom sink had a drippy faucet and was full of dirty, standing water. I had to call twice to get it addressed. The TV in my room didn't work, and when I called the front desk for help that evening, no one answered. The next morning at 6:30am, I called again and was told to bring the remote down to the desk to see if the issue was just the batteries--at 6:30 in the morning, no less. I shouldn't be trouble shooting when I am paying for the room. I told the front desk that the remote worked fine on the other TV in the suite, so that clearly wasn't the problem. I left for breakfast, expecting it would be resolved, but when I returned, the TV still wasn't fixed and there was fresh standing water in the sink. To add to the poor experience, a sleeper sofa was propped up on its end in the hallway outside my room the entire time I was there. I had to walk past the exposed bottom of a piece of furniture every time I came or went. There was also trash bagged in plastic grocery bags left sitting on a random coffee table in the hallway--just not what you expect from a hotel at this price point. No gesture of goodwill or rate adjustment was offered despite multiple issues and inconveniences. Bella Vista Suites has a lovely location and a lot of potential, but the condition of the room and lack of responsiveness from staff made my stay disappointing. I hope management takes steps to improve both service and upkeep.
