My husband & I got to hit the dance floor and enjoy ourselves. This event is underrated (or not advertised much?). It wasn't full but it was still great. The event info didn't say anything about food, only cash bar. We wish we would have known as they had a great variety of appetizers. There was a good energy in the room, and we even won a prize for couples costumes!

Definitely the worst I've had here. Our family of 12+ has been coming here basically my entire life but they have been going downhill. Yes everything costs more right now but you can't charge more for worse options and service. So here's the good. The sausage. That's it, at least for me. Sausage was very good. I don't do eggs, but the omelet bar was well received by those who ate one. Now here's the rest. Bacon was awful, bad cook and texture. No waffles!? So they always had a waffle bar here, they would make them fresh throughout service and you could top them with whatever fun toppings you wanted... last year they were pre made like everything else but at least they still had them. This year, nothing. They had pancakes at the kids table next to the mac n cheese... sigh. No breakfast potatoes!? How do you not have hashbrowns or potatoes o Brian or something? They had some whole fingerlings in a sauce with pork belly and other nonsense, it looked horrible. And it's just not what I want at brunch, just give me some simple potatoes! The dessert options were weak. A spot labeled various mousses had, in fact, only 1 type of mousse. Some of the desserts being put out were pre packaged cookies... my drink didn't come out until I was basically done eating, which admittedly wasn't too long because there was nothing worth eating anyway. This meal was 70+ bucks a head before service fees and tip. More like 100+ after that. Not worth it. At all. I really love this venue, it's very scenic and great for holiday photos and such. That said, don't brunch here. It's our family tradition but we might have to find a new one...

The Belfry House - Standard Suite

My wife and I stayed in the standard luxury room (vs. a suite or room w/fireplace) and it was big. We got a bottle of wine and rose petals on the bed along with free Coke and Sprite. Close access to Williams Bay. Only reason it isn't a "5" is that we stayed on the weekend - and all the parking spaces were taken up because the parking lot is shared with the Belfry Theatre - and a concert was going on.

It began on the morning of our second day. At 8:00 a.m. it sounded as though someone was sliding furniture across the floor, followed by LOUD banging of doors and stomping up and down stairs. We were in room 101, which is right off the exit toward the room. The opening and slamming of the door was completely obnoxious! The "restaurant" on the property had a menu date of early March, which means it had not been open since. I chose this location because it prides itself on the quiet serenity of an "adults only" boutique hotel. This was NOT the case. The staff had zero respect even after I texted the front desk staff about the issue. They offered us a late check-out, one free night for future use, or a gift card for the restaurant (that was not open). I declined and stated that I will leave my review accordingly and would not be visiting the location again.

Comfort Suites Delavan - Lake Geneva Area - A closer picture of the dried stuff on the drawer handle. Disgusting. But they claim to make sure they are cleaning high-touch areas, right?

The bathroom in the first room they were assigned had not been cleaned - hair and whiskers in the sink, etc. They requested another room. The bedding was not Bern changed and dark stains on the bedding. A third room was even worse so they asked for clean blankets and went back to the first room. After the lack of cleanliness they chose not to even try the free breakfast. Terrible experience. I have since spoken to several local people who had visitors actually check out rather than stay in the filthy rooms.

This place is crusty, dusty, and musty. The lobby looks nice, but.....when we turned the A/C on,…read morethe air smelled like a mixture of mold and cigarette smoke. High touch areas were NOT clean - visibly dirty. There were unknown white spots on the bed skirt that I could only pray was not semen...hand prints up on the wood head board...drips of who-knows-what on the nightstand drawer front & it's handle...sticky stuff on the inside cover of the A/C controls...there was pubic hair in the tub (YES-PUBIC HAIR) ...God only knows if they have ever cleaned the tub jets (I knew better than to turn them on)...thick layer of dust in the A/C vents...lamps had fingerprints on them (wouldn't that be considered a high touch area??)...overall I felt so disgusting staying in this room. My husband had to go get a bottle of their disinfectant cleaner off of the housekeeping cart and a rag so we could clean the room ourselves, but it still felt disgusting being in there. The only one good thing I can say is I did not find any evidence of any kinds of bugs, especially bed bugs so...that's a win, I guess....Breakfast was a let down, especially as someone who cannot eat gluten. The eggs were nasty, the sausage was disgustingly cheap and gross, the coffee tasted like coffee flavored water... nope. All gross. Your only saving grace is if you can eat bagels, pancakes, or waffles. But I couldn't eat any of that.

I had an outstanding experience at The Abbey thanks to Illeyana--also known (and now forever…read moreremembered) as Ms. Goldfish. From the moment we walked in, her energy, attentiveness, and genuine friendliness set the tone for the entire visit. She was on top of everything--quick service, great recommendations, and always checking in without being overbearing. It's rare to find someone who makes you feel both taken care of and completely relaxed at the same time, but Illeyana nailed it. The nickname "Ms. Goldfish" fits perfectly--she kept things fun, memorable, and just a little bit legendary. If you're heading to The Abbey, do yourself a favor and ask for her. Customer service like that is hard to come by. We'll definitely be back!

This resort has taken a significant downturn within the last 10 years. It truly is work to stay…read morehere. The best part of the trip was the time we spent outside of the hotel. From the moment we got here we were inconvenienced. 1. We checked into our room and there was no hand soap, tissues, or conditioner. 2. There are only a few entrances to the resort instead of having an entrance to each building to make it easy to bring stuff to and from your car. 3. The gift shop is crazy expensive, bottled water is almost $4 a piece and a case of beer is $80. 4. The TVs in the room are completely locked down and you're unable to screencast Netflix. Your choices are 30 basic channels of infomercials and $25 movie selections that are mostly from the 90s. 5. The room service for food ends at 10pm and the vending machines were bare, there is no where to go for a late night snack. 6. If you go to the restaurant to order food to go, they won't do it. They'll refer you to calm room service for your room forcing you to leave a tip. 7. If you want a cart to bring your luggage to your car, a bellhop has to supervise you and watch you do it the whole way. 8. On our last day the boiler was down and there was no hot water to take a shower before you check out. 9. We asked for a plate at the front desk to warm up food in the microwave (only one shared microwave is available for each building), and they couldn't find any. In short, this place is like a glorified motel 8 that doesn't truly respect their customers. Their operations are only convenient for them and nothing about the stay was easy. We almost felt like we were in a prison. I did enjoy the stay 10 years ago but we were very disappointed by how it is currently ran.
