A perfect mother/daughter getaway! Emerson house is so well appointed with wonderful touches throughout, such as a coffee/tea station, evening cordials, charging cords, toiletries, etc. Beth and Tony host high tea that honestly is better than the Drake Hotel. In addition, a gourmet breakfast was served on their beautiful patio within their quaint garden. We enjoyed Beth and Tony's engaging personalities and felt like we had known them longer than 24 hours! We'll be back to visit for sure! read more

I had high expectations for 1810 Emerson House, and Beth and Tony exceeded them, by far! The breakfast was top notch: from the beautiful china to the delicious food. No detail was spared on all of the little touches throughout the house, adding every comfort: from the mini fridge / coffee / tea area, to the bathrobes, to the backyard garden. As a 40-year-old daughter on a girls' getaway with her 84-year-old mother, Beth and Tony made us both feel quite well taken care-of and pampered. What a wonderful stay! :) read more

I booked a 2-night stay to getaway and relax. I am literally writing this review in my car, in my garage as I just returned home from my stay at 1810 Emerson House . My time there had turned into an unforgettable experience. This place is amazing. The attention to detail and the warm/inviting decor made for a serene stay. I shared this before, but it begs repeating Tony and Beth's sole goal is to spoil and pamper you during your stay here. This is evident in the great care they both take in crafting master class level multi course breakfast every morning. I have travel to a great many places both foreign and domestic and I will tell you plainly. You will not have an experience like this any place else. That said you owe it to yourself to book a stay. My friend and I stayed the night in the Chamberlin Suite just over a month ago, and everything was just delightful. Tony and Beth were excellent hosts - welcoming, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could be. From homemade wine and an appetizer plate upon arrival, to the delicious evening baked treats, to the terrific multi-course breakfast prepared in the very early morning (upon request), everything was perfect. The home itself is lovely, complete with a comfortable outside patio, as well as a piano for the musically-inclined. Tony chatted with us before leaving and asked for any suggestions, but there were honestly none to give, as I would not have changed a thing. 1810 Emerson House is well worth the cost, and I will certainly book again the next time I stay in Beloit. My husband and I stayed at this lovely little bed and breakfast for our 8th anniversary and it exceeded all of our expectations. Tony and Beth had several homemade treats for us throughout our whole stay: assorted homemade pastries, a colonial spirit (home made), a beautiful charcuterie plate and wine they made from scratch. The house was gorgeous with a roaring fire in the immaculately furnished parlor/dinning room. Our rooms were not only confortable, but beautifully furnished as well. I particularly appreciated the little writing desk stocked with cards and stationary. I came and went as we pleased. Tony and Beth had some excellent recommendations for the area and every place we went was perfect. In the morning we had a three course delicious breakfast served to us on plates that had the flowers for the 8 year anniversary (that is how much detailBeth and Tony put into making your stay magical). Top ratings for the innkeepers, the house, the food and the community. The innkeepers recognize the balance between providing their guests privacy and space while also offering great service. They offered wonderful advice about the community, telling us about independent coffee shops, small museums on campus, and the location of the "real" Indiana Jones' grave -- all of which is in walking distance from the B&B. (As a sidenote, Indiana Jones' inspiration Roy Chapman Andrews was also born in Beloit and studied at Beloit College.) Most impressive to me personally was how the innkeepers were so accommodating to my diet (plant-based/vegan); they did research, they tested recipes, and they provided! Incredibly moist and rich, elegantly decorated, vegan cupcakes were awaiting our arrival for my birthday. The evening appetizers and breakfast were also 100% vegan for me. The most tasty tofu scramble I've ever had, with sweet potato medallions on the side, while they also prepared a delicious omelette for my husband. My wife and I usually opt for AirBnB, but we stumbled across the Emerson House on our way up to Devil's Lake State Park (from STL). What an awesome experience. The town of Beloit is going through somewhat of a renaissance, with delicious supper clubs (thanks for the recommendation, Tony), shops, bike paths, parks, etc. But we honestly just wanted to stay at the house all day. The space is intentional, from the super cozy rooms to the common / dining areas. Tony and Beth are incredibly helpful without being invasive, and they both know their way around the town, and the kitchen. Tony cooked up an outstanding three-course breakfast (we were so stuffed we needed a to-go bag) and Beth made some melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies. Definitely looking for an excuse to go back soon. read more

We came to Wisconsin to check out Frank Lloyd Wright's home, Taliesin. Beautiful estate and well worth the drive. We camped out the night before and after our tour at a nearby state park, Tower Hill. Beloit is a town on the rock river and home to Beloit college. Our children are in High School and we have been trying to show them different college experiences to expand their horizons. The Emerson House was perfect for us. Only a few blocks from the college and near downtown shopping destinations, this B&B hits the mark. The Emerson house was built in 1930 and the owners have fixed it up into a 2 suite B&B. We enjoy staying in B&B's, but Tony and Beth Bonsera, have surpassed everything we are used to by providing evening appetizer's and wine. The breakfast in the morning was very filling and consisted of eggs, waffles, scrumptious apple and cinnamon bread, strawberry parfait, bacon and sausage. Our daughter slept on a pull out love seat which she claims was more comfortable than her own bed. Stayed one night at this gorgeous bed and breakfast. Tony and Beth were great hosts - very accommodating (emailed me after I made reservation to know any allergies, specific likes/dislikes,etc.) and two of the nicest people you would ever meet. We had wine and appetizers on the patio after checking in. Stay included a three course breakfast, delicious and filling (Waldorf Salad, mushroom & cheese omelet, Italian sausage, hash browns, sorbet and fresh banana bread). Baked treats were included, and they have cold drinks, coffee and snacks available for free. Tony also gave us a great rundown of things to do in the area as well, and everything we tried was just as advertised. Well worth the price. read more

We stayed here during a holiday get-away away with friends, and this was a terrific place to stay. The house is beautifully decorated, and Tony and Beth are very thoughtful hosts. With two nicely-appointed bedrooms both upstairs, it was a great option for two couples. One bedroom is en suite; the other uses a bathroom accessed in the hall (robes provided in case one is wanted for the few steps from bedroom to bath), and has a small sitting room that was a perfect place for us all to chat late into the evening. Breakfast was delicious, and beautifully served. As we left, Beth presented us each with a box of holiday cookies for the road. Highly recommended! read more
