My room was absolutely beautiful and spotlessly clean. Breakfasts both morning were delicious and filling, the dining room is amazing with period music playing in the background. The entire house is just amazing with all the Victorian decor and the innkeeper had so much history to share about this beautiful town. I will definitely return in the future to this B&B. There are a few shops and restaurants in the downtown area. When you decide it is getting late and you don't want to drive home. That's where Goodrich Hall steps in. You can rent one of their cozy rooms for the night. While there you can get a history lesson on this 1850's building that has been transformed into Airbnb. The gravy was so creamy and very very delicious. The biscuit underneath was big and freshly homemade. I could eat up a bowl of that gravy just on its own! For $6.95, that was a winner in my book. Our friend got the full order with 3 eggs on top. Even he couldn't finish that! I think it was $8.95. So for a couple bucks more, you can easily make two meals out of the full-size order. Our service was great and the food turned out to be awesome. Like they say - you shouldn't judge a book by its cover. And the same is true for this restaurant. We live in the far NW suburbs of Chicago and didn't want to spend all our time on the road getting to our destination. It was July and most everything on the water was filled to capacity so we began looking into B & B's in WI. Green County came up in our search and Albany House was highly rated. We took a chance and were not disappointed. The home sits on about 2 acres, a very peaceful setting, many gardens and a lovely sense of tranquility. A large front porch with seating, a swing and plenty of mosquito abatement welcomes you! Our room was one of the bedrooms in the Eagle's nest at the top of the home. It was comfortably and thoughtfully appointed and decorated. All the conveniences were available and waiting. Breakfast was excellent, Margie is a wonderful chef and Ken made a wonderful server. We sampled some local cheese and had more than enough food to satisfy us until we were ready for a late afternoon meal. The guests were delightful, conversation flowed and we all lingered past 10 am just enjoying ourselves. Green County is a wonderful explore and Albany was a wonderful place base to travel from. We'd go back in a heartbeat, especially as the seasons change so we can see the area in all it's various splendor. And we'd especially go back to enjoy the hospitality of Margie and Ken and Albany House!

Green County provides a nice getaway, and Albany House is the perfect base for us. There are four bedrooms on the second floor and the third floor is a suite (two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a common area). Their website has pictures of everything so you can see the rooms before you make a reservation. Albany isn't a well-known destination, but if you want to relax, ride your bike on the Sugar River trail, sample lots of cheeses, visit the best brewery in Wisconsin (or any combination of those things), I would recommend checking out this B&B. The breakfasts are fantastic -- enough to get you through most of the day. And now they just opened a cottage (really a vintage bungalow on the Sugar River) across the street with two bedrooms and bathrooms plus a whirlpool tub (in a separate room with a fireplace) and its own kitchen, dining room and living room. It looks really nice (but we haven't stayed there yet).

The only minor downsides are a lack of streaming options, no safe, a single key and the spotty Wi-Fi. Despite the inconveniences, don't let that deter you from coming here. The unique, personal and private experience makes up for it and here's why. The check in and check out process is easy. They don't have a front desk and check in/out requires no interaction with staff. Pulling into the facility, there are designated parking spaces based on the name of the cottage booked. As you approach your cottage, the front door has your last name written on these cute chalkboard hearts. We loved our accommodations. The amenities they provide are well thought out and I for one appreciate the details (big or small). Seven Oaks is a couples only facility with a majority of their updated cottages hosting large 1 bedroom suites with comfortable bedding, an en suite bathroom complete with a 2 person jet tub, Kohler standing showers with multiple shower heads, heated floors (perfect for winters), robes and heated towel racks. In addition to the hairdryer, they also keep cotton pads and Q-tips in the bathroom sink drawer if you forget to pack them. The nightstands in the bedroom have plenty of charging outlets too. The cottages are equipped with lots of drawer and closet space. The cozy living room has a fireplace, comfy sofa, and a TV. For nights in sans screen time, there are books and games in the drawers to keep you entertained. All kitchenettes have a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker providing a selection of coffee and teas. Utensils and cups are there if you need them as well. Complementary wine, crackers and a cheese plate (stored in the mini fridge) are provided on your first nights stay along with breakfast for the following morning. For multiple night stays, breakfast is brought out to you at your door around 10-11ish. Their complementary breakfasts are good but our absolute favorite is their ham and cheese quiche. Housekeeping did an excellent job refreshing our place when we requested it and they made the place look and smell spotless upon return. Seven Oaks is the perfect year-round getaway just minutes from Lake Geneva and most restaurants. Overall our stay was peaceful, quiet and made for a pleasant vacation.

We stayed in the Oxford cabin and ended up paying $271 for 2 nights. Still an awesome bed and breakfast, friendly staff, delicious complimentary cheese and wine of your choice. Small issue, it was lots of ants this visit. Maybe because it was warmer this visit, but they were everywhere. Besides that, great trip. Of course, we'll be back, we LOVE it here.

Came here for a Labor Day tubing trip down the river and decided to stay the night to enjoy the hiking the following day. This b&b tried its hardest on the breakfast despite the covid precautions with packaged snacks, fruit, assorted coffee and tea. The rooms are really unique, all very spacious with their own bathrooms. And the common space is super cool. Best part are the screened in porch and exterior wrap around porch with rocking chairs. I picked this place because it looks much like my grandmothers house from the 1800s and wow was it similar. Spoke with the owner for an hour about the character and all the special features. It was so cool to learn more and appreciate her passion. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the amazing breakfast she likes to cook and stay in another room to try it out. I loved the attention to detail in the decorations and the amenities. There was a huge DVD collection, although we didn't have time to watch a movie, if we had it definitely would've been fun to look through them all and pick one out. There were cute little chocolates in our room and I loved the fully stocked kitchen that was open 24/7 because when we got back from the wedding we all needed a late night snack! The owners were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in the Somerset room and everyone was jealous. I think it's the best room! Very ornate and old fashioned looking. The house itself was built right after the civil war. I definitely recommend this place!
