I think we've been coming to Albany House for almost 10 years -- first to visit family in the area,…read moreand now we bring friends with us. Green County provides a nice getaway, and Albany House is the perfect base for us. There are four bedrooms on the second floor and the third floor is a suite (two bedrooms, a bathroom, and a common area). Their website has pictures of everything so you can see the rooms before you make a reservation. Albany isn't a well-known destination, but if you want to relax, ride your bike on the Sugar River trail, sample lots of cheeses, visit the best brewery in Wisconsin (or any combination of those things), I would recommend checking out this B&B. The breakfasts are fantastic -- enough to get you through most of the day. And now they just opened a cottage (really a vintage bungalow on the Sugar River) across the street with two bedrooms and bathrooms plus a whirlpool tub (in a separate room with a fireplace) and its own kitchen, dining room and living room. It looks really nice (but we haven't stayed there yet).

She went the extra mile! Reese was a cute and smiley toddler. No complaints whatsoever. So many fun things to do in the area. Small town charm abounds. Place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Complete silence. Lovely space. Well appointed. Lots of original woodwork, marble sinks, faucets, etc. This is a very historic home. Fluffy towels and bathrobes. Soap, lotion and other essentials are available in case you forget something. Treats, coffee and tea were available at all times. Games and books and magazines in the room. Flexible hosts just full of local information. Restaurant menus, maps and information on things to do are available. Just awesome all the way around!

Wow! What a spectacular b&b! I've never stayed in a b&b nor been to Oregon, Illinois so why not…read moreknock both out at once. Came here for a Labor Day tubing trip down the river and decided to stay the night to enjoy the hiking the following day. This b&b tried its hardest on the breakfast despite the covid precautions with packaged snacks, fruit, assorted coffee and tea. The rooms are really unique, all very spacious with their own bathrooms. And the common space is super cool. Best part are the screened in porch and exterior wrap around porch with rocking chairs. I picked this place because it looks much like my grandmothers house from the 1800s and wow was it similar. Spoke with the owner for an hour about the character and all the special features. It was so cool to learn more and appreciate her passion. I can't wait to come back and enjoy the amazing breakfast she likes to cook and stay in another room to try it out. Please come support this b&b, you won't regret it!

I loved the attention to detail in the decorations and the amenities. There was a huge DVD collection, although we didn't have time to watch a movie, if we had it definitely would've been fun to look through them all and pick one out. There were cute little chocolates in our room and I loved the fully stocked kitchen that was open 24/7 because when we got back from the wedding we all needed a late night snack! The owners were very friendly and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in the Somerset room and everyone was jealous. I think it's the best room! Very ornate and old fashioned looking. The house itself was built right after the civil war. I definitely recommend this place!
