That said, local flying legend Chris Bachman is the Man and makes you feel comfortable and confident piloting his helicopter. Three of us had a great tour this summer. It was warm, so they flew with the doors off, giving us…read morean unobstructed view. From Schaumburg,we flew to roughly where the highways 290, 294 and 88 meet, then followed the Eisenhower expressway east to downtown. We flew south to McCormick convention center, then flew up the shoreline, past Grant park and Navy Pier. Over Lincoln Park we headed inland, passing over Wriggly Field before heading south, back to the Eisenhower, which we followed back west, retracing our original path. Total flight time was around 45 minutes, which is much longer than a tour from a downtown heliport. As we were getting briefed initially, we were asked if we wanted mild or extreme. We answered extreme, and we found out what that meant when we neared the airport on our return. The pilot made a series of extreme banks (90 degrees?, and remember, no doors). One of our party thought it was great, the other was not so happy. The helicopter is the smaller 4-person model. The pilot determines who sits where for weight distribution. You get the best view of the sights on the left side. Somehow, we missed the warning to bring a light jacket and you may want to wear long pants With the doors off, it gets windy. Imagine riding down the highway at 100 mph in a car with no doors, and you get the idea; remember, though, that you are at altitude, and it is cooler than ground level. We didn't have any jackets, but it was warm enough that the trip was tolerable. However, a jacket would have made it more comfortable, and I was glad I wore jeans. You will be warned not to bring anything that could fall out of the open door, hit the rear rotor and cause a crash. Lock in your car anything you don't absolutely need . They don't want camera bags (too many loose items). If you bring a camera, make sure it has a wrist strap. We enjoyed the flight, and I recommend it.

Had some communication issues in the beginning which was a little frustrating and our flight did not start as scheduled (30-45 min after) but in the end the owner is friendly and nice. The pilot was fun and entertaining as well. Did some tricks, giggled a lot, hovered in front of the restaurant window, and chatted in the end. They have a restaurant/bar at the airport with a flight/aviation-theme of course. We just took two coffees pre-flight which were actually pretty good there.

Me and my partner scheduled a 90-minute architecture tour for 06/24/2025 at 8:30PM (Total $90 for two tickets). We arrived early and while waiting, we received an email at 7:56PM saying there was an issue with their boat and they had to cancel the tour. We went down to the ticketing office and spoke with the employee. He explained there was an issue with their boat and it was impossible to refund our tickets at his ticketing office. He advised me that we could call the main office number and ask for a refund and then shrugged saying he wasn't sure if they would be able to. The employee stated he could reschedule us to 8:45PM (a firework tour - not what we wanted) or 9:00PM for the architecture tour. I advised him we would be fine with shifting our plans to 9:00PM. He printed me and my partner our tickets and we stepped aside to wait for an hour. We looked at the tickets and noticed that the 9:00PM tour was printed as only 45-minutes long, not the 90-minutes originally purchased. I went back up to the ticketing office and inquired about the discrepancy and asked for a refund on the difference, as the 45-minute tour was only $28 per ticket (Total $56 for two tickets). The employee again said he couldn't refund us for the difference. At this point I was upset because literally, what do you mean you can't refund the difference? After me being persistent (and a different employee also saying no refunds), they finally admitted they actually COULD refund me there, and then issued me a refund / receipt saying my card would be credited for the original amount in 2 - 5 days. I left completely confused by the interaction. How are YOU going to cancel on me, and then say "Oh no refunds" *shrug*. Umm you didn't provide the service I purchased... I would urge you to use literally any other architecture tour group.

I asked them directly if I booked my stay through them would I be allowed to get my Hilton Points and they told me yes to just let the resort know that I have Hilton Honors and I will receive the points. I arrived at resort and noted that this was not the case. I also noted that I could have gotten the same stay at the resort for about the same price. Customer Service was not good at all. I do not recommend using at all.

I happened to grow up right across the street from the octagon house. It is such a beautiful home…read morewith an amazing view on the hill overlooking the river. When I was about ten years old I went across the street in a dress authentic for the 1800's era and asked if I could become a tour guide and I became the first "junior guide" at the octagon house. I also was so inspired by the First Kindergarten that I became a preschool teacher when I grew up. I moved to Los Angeles about 30 years ago but I always visit when I come to Watertown yearly as my parents still live here. If you ever have the chance and are in the area, it is definitely worth spending an afternoon up on the grounds to see the house and the buildings on the grounds. Wonderful example of unique piece of architecture!

Spent about 2 hours at the Mississippi River museum.Looking at the animals , checking out the museum,river and the exhibits outside. There was multiple movies and exhibits about early travel on the mississippi river and also real boat engines of steamboats and other river vessels. We spent about two hours there , exploring the inside and the outside of the museum. Very enjoyable and inexpensive experience for people of all ages.
