What happened to the Marriott brand? Our first morning at 7 am I used the app to message the hotel and talked to the night auditor on my way out. None of the problems I reported were fixed. Other guests at breakfast reported similar issues. The TV in the sitting area does not turn on using either remote. The dresser drawers under the TV slide out on their own, just for me to bump into at night. The electric recepticals under the microwave and behind the coffee maker sparked when I plugged in my phone charger. The alarm clock was sent to the wrong time, getting me up an hour early. Opening the door requires one hand to get the key in just the right spot while opening the door within a tenth of second. Housekeeping never showed up! read more

Clean, staff is friendly, always helpful. Staff wears masks, customers do not always have to. There is complimentary breakfast which is a bit boring and monotonous. Usually pork/turkey sausage, Canadian bacon, waffles, dried cereal, dried oatmeal, they have some sort of fruit, milk, and water. There is a pool and workout room. Pool you have to schedule a time to go which is great to limit amount of people at a time. Workout room is mostly cardio equipment. Overall, always a great stay. Rooms are a bit small, but has the essentials. Does not clean daily unless you ask for it, which is reasonable. There is soap, shampoo, etc, but no lotion. Personally that's a nice touch for other hotels. Otherwise no complaints, microwave and fridge available in each room. Will continue to stay when I come down. Happy staying! read more

Stayed here this past weekend. Hotel and staff were very nice but got food poisoning from lemon infused water at breakfast bar. One sip and I knew it was racid! Contacted hotel staff to let them know. Would have thought that I would receive a bit more empathy and thanks for letting them know. Drank water on Saturday morning and still not feeling 100% after 5 days. I would not want anyone to go through this very preventable situation - especially the elderly or other compromised people. Lesson learned - stay away from the water at a breakfast bar! read more

Our first room had a strange odor and was not thoroughly cleaned, so we switched rooms. The second won was extremely humid and had a dehumidifier on the floor. Breakfast had a good spread, and the staff was nice. read more

Decent place. Just renovated - you can smell the new carpet in the rooms and lobby. Pool was nice. Check-in hassle free. Price around $100. Breakfast typical meh for this type of hotel - although it is notable that the bakery items were all day old or worse - English muffins like hockey pucks. It's a clean, quiet, comfortable, no-frills room in the Midwest. Nice bathroom. A/C blows cold. Looks way better than the Super 8 next door, including the riffraff staying there. Front desk staff friendly. Nothing to complain about and nothing to rave about either. Kind of nice that the TV allows Netflix access. I'd stay here again. read more

What a dump! Horrible experience. Chose to stay here after a long day of driving because of the Marriott reputation, wow were we disappointed. The hotel itself is under construction and it's about time! The decor is very dated and the furniture is poorly maintained. In the morning we discovered that a pipe was broken and that there was no hot water. When we called the front desk to complain they apologized but didn't really seem sincere. I realize that these things happen, but management should have handled the situation better by offering a partial refund. Hot water is a minimal expectation at any hotel! read more

Front Desk staff was way better than average. Very clean room, a bit over priced at $169 per night but at least it was very clean. The breakfast needs to get more fresh food options as fried and pre made eggs plus waffles is all fattening. But this is Wisconsin, so..... This hotel was great for the price and super clean. The staff was kind, beds were comfortable, mini fridge & microwave in the room. Id stay here again for sure. Only complaint is that the walks are bit thin to the hallway. You can hear a lot of noise but that didn't bother me too much. read more

Review the photos on the hotel website as the ones uploaded here must be old. The hotel has been updated and the rooms are quite nice. It is a Marriott property but keep in mind it is not a Marriott so don't expect it to be overly fancy or spoil you with your (Bonvoy Elite Status) My room was very clean and well equipped. They take great measures to stay clean and safe during covid. The staff that works here are amazing and deserve the most praise. I came into town after a long flight and the very nice front desk lady let me check in at 9:30 AM when normal check in is at 3:00 pm. Breakfast is free as usual and slightly better than other hotels I've stayed at. The lady that takes care of the food in the morning does a great job keeping it clean and stocked. Now the downside (not that bad at all) the pool tiles and railings could use a good cleaning as they are rusted and scummy however the water was clean I just didn't use the railings. If you are staying more than one night and want housekeeping to service your room you must request it but it wasn't much of an inconvenience for me since I only needed a few things replenished and the front desk put a cute bag together for me with everything I requested. Last thing is when you stay here and I'm sure it's the same anywhere here in the humid season the room smelled a bit musty but I travel with fabric spray to keep my clothes smelling good so I sprayed it on the curtains and after that wasn't a problem. As you see my complaints are very minimal and easy to work around. I'm so happy that the neighboring hotels had no vacancy as they looked very run down despite the pictures. I've been here 4 days and would stay here again anytime. read more

Nice clean room that seems to have been recently remodeled. Bathroom was very clean and all tiled which I appreciate. Breakfast was well stocked and maintained, clean and fresh. Titanium elite status doesn't seem to matter here. Trip got canceled under 48 hours and they still are charging a full night's stay. Strict adherence to the cancellation policy that I have always been able to get waived at other Marriott properties. Will not stay here anymore. read more

Do not Stay!!! Watch Out! Beloit is my hometown and the Fairfield use to be my fav, but after my last stay there appears to be a scam going on. I was charged $250 for smoking, never smoked a day in my life. They indicated they have picture for evidence and I can't even imagine what that would be which lead me to think this is a setup/scam. Yes, maybe I watch too much CSI, but knowing I don't smoke, carry matches or a lighter, what could possibly be in the pictures. I did ask to see the picture and the manager wasn't sure that was allowed. Hmmmm? I could not get them to remove the charge, so I disputed with my credit card company and reported the incident to the platinum elite desk at Marriott. Having been so loyal to Marriott for years, I am shocked with the treatment. read more

The only reason I gave 2 stars was for two front desk staff who were very kind and patient. Lauren and TJ were great. Can't say the same for some of the others. I guess they were trained by the general manager who did not respond to two emails I sent her. I was showering with water up to my ankles. Reported this twice. Maintenance said it wasn't an issue. Never fixed it. No hot water in the sink unless you run your bath for a while first. Then the day without power. Hotel not prepared. Not a single flashlight in the joint. Housekeeping was also poor. Too the tip and did the minimum. I was there almost 3 weeks! Had to ask for a normal clean I am an elite rewards member. Spend 320 nights per year in a hotel. We stayed here while touring Beloit College for my son. They were very, very accomodating in getting us into our room before check in, as we came in on a red eye. There was a soccer tournament, so as soon as some people checked out, they put us in our room. That was awesome. The place was a bit of a mess from all of the kids but as soon as they all left, things were tidied up very quickly. Rooms are basic, and outdated a bit. Nice to have a fridge and microwave. My bed was comfy enough. We were in a room right next to the elevator. Seemed weird but was fine. The hotel was empty so it was quiet. When there is a group like soccer teams I am sure it is very noisy. There is space under the door where noise would travel in. Also there were issues with the heating element. Had to call maintenance. The kid seemed young and had no idea how to fix the problem. It kept coming on all night. We finally had to unplug from the wall. It is a basic room. Breakfast was good enough. Will try one of the other hotels on the strip next time if possible. read more

No hesitation staying here ongoing when I visit Beloit. The rooms are nice and I know that an upgrade is planned for the common areas. It's also walking distance to a variety of fast food establishments and Jersey's sports bar. If there was something I wish would improve....it's the noise from the room AC. I ended up adjusting the thermostat...so that it wouldn't run much at all. Which worked out fine for me. read more

TJ at the front desk was very pleasant and welcoming when we checked in at 10pm...and was still there when we came down for breakfast, where Lisa was constantly hustling to keep the breakfast buffet clean and stocked. I really liked this hotel, it was clean, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was good. It was an easy on/off the tollway. I would stay here again. The Waffles were AMAZING.. the best and fluffiest I have ever had at one of these places... And the Coffee was good as well. Very disappointed in most all aspects of this place. Air conditioning did not work, breakfast was only fair, the entire place needs updating, TV channels limited, and unpleasant smell in the room. I arrived around 9pm to check in, when they asked if I would prefer the handicap accessible room or the one by the elevator. I asked for a water bottle, they didn't have any, don't have any waters in the room, but told me there's a vending machine around the corner. I get to the handicap accessible room, and open the door, it's humid as can be, dark and dingy, and also checked for bed bugs...just in case. The beds are hard, the rooms are gross, and I would rather forgo the Marriott points (even though I'm a platinum elite member), and stay at the Iroworks or Hampton in Beloit. Much nicer options, where you'll actually get some sleep. read more

WOW! The staff at the Fairfield Inn in Beloit made our wedding so amazing! We could not thank them enough! We hosted our wedding and reception at Orchard Ridge Farms in Rockton IL, and set up shuttles to move 200 guests to and from the hotel. From 6 months in advance, Candice, Brittany, and the rest of the staff were 100% dedicated to making the experience of our wedding guests perfect. Our families took up 95% of the hotel, which made for an amazing dynamic for our wedding weekend. Not only did the staff always answer our daily check in calls with a smile, but they went out of their way to stay in constant contact with us in the weeks leading up. They also had awesome posters printed for us, and decorated the conference room just for my bride! There were so many personal touches that were not overlooked, and we just loved how human they were about our special requests. After hearing no from others in the surrounding area, they were truly allies in our goal for the perfect wedding. We can not thank the staff enough for all their care, planning, patience, and attention to detail. IF YOU ARE GETTING MARRIED IN THE ROCKTON/BELOIT AREA, CHOOSE THIS HOTEL TO HOST YOUR GUESTS. Let me start with this, I have over 200 night this year and it's the second week of July. I am 100% totally and permanently disabled veteran with a broken back and PTSD. I wouldn't give this dirty ass hotel a 1 star review if it allowed me to leave it at 0 stars. The pic should answer most questions as to why I cannot stand this hotel, pubic hair and hair from someone's head on my linens. Noticed that gem while I was climbing into the shower. The management staff is awful. Similar to the housekeeping, but worse. I tried to check out late in the afternoon. Even with the pubic hair and nastiness left on the toilet seat, I was going to swallow my pride and stay at this place 1 more night bc I could only imagine that housecleaning couldn't do a bad job twice in a row. But my work shifted and I need to do some work in Chicago, they are forcing me to pay the full balance for the night even though I will not be staying the night. Please keep in mind I have 200+ nights at the Marriott branded hotels this year. It's not 9 July 2015. read more

I checked out several options in the area and we ended up selecting the Fairfield Inn of Beloit. The pool is open 24 hours and a hot continental breakfast is included. The rooms are clean and cared for and the staff is friendly and very easy to work with. We have not yet even had our stay there, but the customer service by their sales manager, Deanna, and their operations manager, Lydia, has been excruciating. As someone who interacts on a daily basis with hotel properties, I have no words for how the two of these teammates interact with their future customers. We made reservations for a visiting cousin from out of state. Smooth check-in process. The first room was right next to elevators, so they kindly accommodated our request for a change to a more private area. The room was clean, air was on as it was in the 90's! Fridge, microwave, coffee pot, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer were in the room. A free all you can eat buffet breakfast came with the room. Exercise room, swimming pool and hot tub available. My relative stayed 8 days and 7 nights. The last night a pipe burst and there was no hot water; the manager kindly provided a discount for that night, profusely apologized and thanked her for her patience. The front desk staff on all shifts were outstanding; very polite and helpful. One of them helped my cousin locate and print her boarding pass for return flight from O'Hare. Ample parking. Fairly large room. Very clean and modern. Bathroom area does feel somewhat small. Free internet that is easily capable of streaming Netflix or a GenieGo. I visit Beloit numerous times a year and each time we typically would stay at Fairfield despite the mediocre service and dated rooms. More recently, in the beginning of May 4th I left my prescription glasses in my room. Upon realization (that same day), I called and the same gentleman quickly returned my call to confirm they had them and instructed that they would mail them to me. A week later, I received a call from them saying they needed a credit card number (one week wasted, why not ask on initial confirmation call) and i had to call back with the number, which i did within 24hours- but was instructed that I had to call back when manager was on duty. I called back a few times trying to reach a manager who was always either busy or not there until finally a front desk receptionist begrudgingly took my cc info and told me she would pass it along. I went on vacation and on May 20th, two weeks later, came back to nothing. I called about once a week after, each time being told either Travis or Laura would call me back. It finally lead me to today June 30th (which is 8 weeks to the day from initial call) to FINALLY have the manager return my call (surprise, surprise Laura has a voicemail that nobody thought to transfer me to the first 10 calls). Upon the return call, Laura informed me she did not any longer have my glasses (initially they assured me they had them and described them to a t) but must have mailed them. My card was never charged nor do they keep any sort of log or paper trail to confirm mailing... all this and all they can say is " we are sorry, but you left your glasses." I'm at a loss at the incompetency this staff has displayed- even more so at the manager that leads the charge with equal if not more inadequacy. I do realize that it was I that left my glasses but upon initial call, I was assured they would be returned to me, I have since waited 8 weeks chasing them down to find out they do not take any accountability for their actions. With the loss of a $500 item that could have been replaced 8-weeks ago - they have lost my business and I hope to take my riding team with me. read more
