The quality of the work was not good at all. Sub par at best. Not very friendly or welcoming atmosphere. I've only had one personal experience with this shop and it went very poorly. I came in at about 2pm and asked for a very simple (only words) tattoo and was told there would be an 1+ wait but I was one of the only customers in the store. After about 45 minutes I was told they didn't know how long it would be and got differing answers from all artists currently at the store. I ended up changing my design to something even MORE simple with the hopes I wouldn't need to be waiting for an hour PLUS another hour and a half under the needle. Most employees were stand-offish and hesitant to help me regardless what I was asking for/about. I have two other friends who also had poor experiences and I suggested that they write reviews themselves. All-in-all, a bad choice if you don't have 4 hours free to be in the shop, want a friendly experience, and expect good and consistent line work. I have been leaving reviews on google to avoid potential customers from going to this establishment. This company has deleted mine and several others who have left a review. on March 16th they discriminated against me by not only acting as if I was invisible but doubling my price when it was my turn. I was made to feel uncomfortable and unwanted by them going up on the price. communication was horrible and when I did finally give up after two hours of patiently sitting there and other white people standing to avoid sitting by me. The receptionist, who I found out on tiktok who is a known racist sarcastically told me to have a good night. This altercation made me nervous to go to another establishment but I ended up going to the electric peacock. They immediately told me how long it would be before I was seen and gave me the option to make an appointment if that didn't work. I went in there to get a piece of jewelry in my nose, first of all 10 bucks for that is crazy, I know places who would do that for free or at least cheap. Anyway, the guy at the front desk was nice, there was a wait but he let me know how long it would be and why. It took some time for me to go, and when I did the guy did not introduce himself at all, just told me to sit on the table and literally jammed the jewelry in my nose, and I know for a fact it could've been done without hurting at all because I learned how to do it myself so I wouldn't have to deal with anyone like that ever again. read more

The other day my friend and I decided to take the plunge and get piercings here in Columbia. After a rough investigation into different shops in the area, it was between Iron Tiger and Living Canvas. My friend wanted to go to the cheaper option, so we went to Iron Tiger. I cannot begin to describe how strange and frankly horrible this experience was. We had to pay, (and tip!) prior to even meeting the piercer. We were taken back into the piercing room by a man who didn't introduce himself, but was clearly the piercer in question. I was getting a flat, and my friend was getting her conch. I have quite a few piercings as well as some tattoos, so I was questioning the professionalism and quality of this shop immediately. Within 2 minutes of sitting on the table I had a needle in my ear, no clamp or I think even gloves on his hands in sight. However the worst part of this experience for me was what I was pierced with. For those who may not know, almost all ear/cartilage piercings should be done with a straight barbell. There are of course some exceptions, but not in the case of a flat. I was not shown the jewelry prior to being pierced, otherwise I would have left right away and taken my friend with me. My flat piercing was done with a curved barbell that was extremely long. Being pierced with a curved barbell will almost guarantee the piercing rejecting. (I was also pierced with a 16g, not an 18g for whatever reason) and my friend was given a hoop for her conch! I had some misgivings, but we left the shop and I began to google and call some other shops for another professional opinion. I ended up calling my shop in my hometown, where I have had all the rest of my piercings done, and was advised to go to an actually reputable place to get the bar changed ASAP. I ended up going to Living Canvas the next day, and had an amazing experience with the artist there. He reiterated all of what had already been said to me the day prior when I was calling, and was also the one to inform me I had been pierced at a different gauge than expected. Overall, I will NEVER be going back to Iron Tiger and will caution anyone looking to get pierced/tattooed against stepping foot in this shop. Living Canvas is now in my number 1 spot for this area, though I've heard good things about Electric Peacock as well. If you still end up going here, beware (and be sure to look at the jewelry before you get pierced!!!) TLDR This place was a 0/10, and next time I'll just shell out the 20 extra dollars for a piercer who is actually professional and knows what they're doing. read more

i visited missouri in july to see a friend; impulsively, we decided to all get walk-in tattoos together. the studio was clean, and the staff were all very polite, knowledgeable, and funny. carlos did a wonderful job with all three of our tattoos; the linework on my tattoo is phenomenal. we were given good instruction on how to take care of our tattoos after the appointment. they offered to walk us to our car as it was quite late at night which was so kind of them. almost three months later, it's healed phenomenally. if i lived in missouri, i'd be there every week. i hope to come back for another amazing tattoo during my next trip! read more

If I could give a 0 I would. I have 13 piercings, including face ones and have been pierced in multiple shops in different states. The experience I had with Tyler for my belly button piercing was the worst experience i've had from start to finish. 1. They had me pay before I got my piercing done 2. He didn't wear gloves at all 3. I wasn't shown the placement for the piercing before it was done or show me the jewelry 4. He didn't use a clamp he used his fingers to hold my skin (without having gloves on) 5. He didn't tell me when he was doing the piercing 6. wasn't shown my piercing after When I finally got home to check out the piercing I saw that firstly the piercing wasn't even in my belly button it was above it. It was also off centered and crooked. So I went back the next night with a group of 3 friends to see if I could get any of my money back. When I told him that I was upset because the piercing wasn't in my belly button he said he didn't put it there so it could be seen when I stand up and I told him that wasn't what I wanted and showed him a picture of my friends belly button piercing that's very well done. Mind you she's absolutely tiny and his response was " you just don't have that kind of stomach and they way you are won't even show the piercing". He also refused to admit it was off centered or crooked and blamed it on the way I was standing. So we just left since he refused to see anything wrong I went to Electric Peacock to get a second opinion about not having "the right stomach". After putting gloves on just to check out the placement Tyler did the first thing Bryson pointed out was that it was so crooked and off centered. Bryson also told me Tyler was wrong and he pierced me that night with the piercing I wanted and I love it. Bryson was awesome and I highly recommend him. So if you plan on getting pierced by Tyler chances are it'll be crooked and he will be rude and won't admit it's wrong. read more

So I'm visiting Columbia from LA and I decided to take this time to get a reasonably priced tattoo(LA is so expensive just because it's LA). I did my Yelp research and this tattoo shop has a lower rating than some but I had a greaT experience so I'm not sure why! First off: I just walked in and it was pretty busy but I'm guessing most people were in there for piercings because from my walking in to sitting in the chair getting into my tattoo was literally like 25 minutes, maybe even less. A very short amount of time which was nice because I had to be somewhere by a certain time. The tattoos I got were very simple (pictures below) and the artist Jake Bailey was very kind, courteous, and made sure to let me know about what they would look like, he took photos of the stencil on me before he started and it was quick and relatively painless. He also let me know before he was going to start the tattoo about what the pain might be and his hand was very light and easy. Everyone else in the shop was also pretty nice. I saw some reviews on here about rude people working there and honestly I wasn't surprised before I got there because that's been my experience with most tattoo shops I've gone to (which is why I only go to one and one only in LA) but they were all very cool. They took care of me and what I wanted. I didn't sense Any shame of what I was getting, or annoyance, or anything that you would experience in most shops. I will probably be visiting MO often and this will be the place I go if I want tattoos. It was also very inexpensive especially compared to LA prices (this would've easily been $200 in some LA shops) but I got both done for only $100. He originally quoted me $120 but because it went by so fast and Easy he took $20 off which is really nice because he already told me the priice so he could've stuck with that. He told me he's not into just trying to take peoples money so he adjusted as needed. That was super cool and something I don't think most people wouLd do. It's a rare quality for anybody in a business of service. So I really appreciate that! Now You shouldn't expect that when going in. Their tools were not properly sanitized, or there was fungus growing in their ink because my tattoo was infected with ringworm. I had to go through two rounds of antibiotics, and two creams, which were expensive and ruined my spring break. I couldn't go in the sun while on doxycycline. I went to get my septum pierced the guy was extremely rude he peirced my septum completely crooked and in a garbage place so that you can barely even see the ring coming out of my nose, I don't have a big nose. Then when I tried to go back and show him he was a complete dick and treated me like I was less than human and blamed me for it. I got my rook piercing done here this past weekend. I've been wanting this piercing done for a while, but I finally did it because a friend of mine was making the trip to get her conch pierced. I've had friends who got piercings here who recommended Iron Tiger to me, so I figured I'd try it out. As soon as we got there, the artists up front greeted us with smiles, asking us what we were in for that day. When we told the guy what we wanted done, he told us how much it would cost ($40 for my rook, $50 for her conch, jewelry included) and gave us forms to fill out. While we filled them out, he went in search of the piercer, whose name was Hunter. Hunter was super friendly, and he talked and joked with me and my friend the entire time. He marked our ears, let us check the placement out, the proceeded with the piercings. My friend went first, then me. After each of us went, we were allowed to inspect our piercings, and Hunter gave us a quick low-down on how to care for our newly-pierced ears, as well as giving us a sheet of paper with more in-depth care instructions. He also gave us business cards with his name and hours so that we'd know what days we should come back if we wanted our first changing of the earrings done by him. Overall, I'm in love with my piercing. This place was sanitary, professional, and friendly, and I'd probably go back for another piercing. read more

After reading multiple positive reviews I went to Iron Tiger with high hopes for a very simple tattoo. All that I wanted was a simple infinity symbol with a date in the middle tattooed on my back. The date ended up being tattooed inside the middle of the symbol crooked. I went back 6 weeks later because the original artist [Moe] offered to try and fix it because he knew I was unhappy. Although he tried to fix it, the damage was already done and now I am left with a tattoo that I absolutely hate. It's disappointing because I expect the tattoos I got in my "younger days" to be of this caliber. However I guess I have myself to blame. I got my nose pierced here and was treated very poorly. The staff was extremely rude. I am a young woman in college and felt they were overall disrespectful and unwelcoming. My piercer marked the place he was going to pierce and told me to look into the mirror to check if I liked it. I was unsure about the location and hesitated, he then told me "I know what I'm doing, I don't really care what you think" and "I wouldn't have changed it anyway". He then pierced it and rushed me out the door, giving me very little information regarding aftercare. My friend had a similar experience with the same piercer. Overall horrible experience. My friend and I went here on Saturday and we just walked in. We waited for two hours but it was busy and they do accept walkins so it was understandable. This was both of ours first tattoos and we were nervous. I wanted two small xx and she wanted a word on her arm. When they finally got to us it was quick and pretty much painless! I had Jake and he was extremely friendly and made it very nice. He walked me through everything and made sure I was okay. I do love my tattoo, however, my second x is a little off. both of the arms just kinda look not right but it really isn't noticeable to anyone besides me, i just notice everything and obviously it's on my body lol. This place sold me a nose ring, I took out my original stud to try and change it myself, I couldn't figure it out, so I went back within 30 minutes for help getting it put in. The guy said "that looks irritated" and said he'd have to charge $50 to repierce it. I left, called another tattoo shop and they said "omg come right in! Of course we won't charge repiercing!" I just went to get my doubles pierced and I was treated HORRIBLY and my piercer went directly AGAINST what I wanted. When he marked where he would put the piercings and asked if I liked it I said NO and told him I wanted them higher up. He told me that he knew best and what I wanted wouldn't look good. I used to always have a good experience with a piercer here, but I went in the other day to get a stud changed and every employee was short and rude, and I was given a new piece of jewelry not fit for my ear anatomy. Piercings have to be the right size for your body, and they took no care to that, and offered no after care instructions. My sister and I went to this place to get matching tattoos in memory of our grandpa. We got there and they greeted us at the door rude and unhappily. Wait times were ridiculous. And the price of the tattoo was very high. It was $80 for one. But my sister got another and it was $120 together. We called and asked about it and the guy said we should brought that up with the person last night. The problem is I did and was told that's just how they charged. Also asked that the tattoo is the exact same. And a mirror of each-others. As in the pictures. They are not the exact same. And not mirrored. Also before being tattooed we asking about the pricing and was ignored until he was already tattooing. So overall I will not be going back EVER. And I recommend you to go somewhere else. I went to iron tiger for a simple nose stud piercing. Tyler didn't warn me when he put the needle in and he didn't give me any instruction on how to take care of the piercing. I also asked for options on what the stud would look like and he didn't even let me choose. He rushed through the piercing and didn't give me a chance to ask him questions. I told him that this was my first body piercing and that I have a chronic fear of needles but he expressed apathy about the situation. The only reason this shop gets two stars is because it was clean and their piercers are nice. And that's about it. I went to the shop the first time to get a monroe piercing. What a disaster. The piercer, who was actually very nice and professional, had to pierce me twice. Once with a 16 gauge and finally with a 14 gauge. I was bleeding a lot and nearly passed out. The piercing did heal well and looks great, but it was the single worst experience. However, the second worst experience was the next time I went to the shop. The girl who used to cut my hair had told me about people getting their tattoos put on backwards and a few rumors of post-tattoo infections. Since the shop had changed names, I thought I would give it a try for a tattoo. I knew a few girlfriends of the dudes that worked there who have great ink. I usually go to Pete at Living Canvas, but I wanted to see if Iron Tiger (formerly Hollywood Rebel) could do a simple lettering piece I wanted. A set of letters in Ultra Bodoni going down my arm, seemed very easy. Gabe, the owner, was the artist and I could tell something was off, but I wasn't quite sure. About halfway through the tattoo he accused me of being stoned, which I was not. He then admitted that he was stoned...and I should have walked out right then. I finished the tattoo and then he looked at me and a friend and said, "If we were in Disneyland right now, we would be best friends." I paid, left and never went back. The tattoo heeled so poorly that I got it covered up (by Pete at Living Canvas) in no less than 6 months. The lettering had thick, thick black lines and the inside was patchy gray. I would never, ever suggest going to that place. Go to Living Canvas down the street. It's a little more, but at least you're getting it done right. EDIT: In response to Gabe's comment below, I'd like to say that the piercing happened in 2007 and the tattoo was either late 2010 or early 2011. Pete at Living Canvas was my artist. I had a couple friends with me for the tattoo, they were there. Not sure if Gabe actually was high, but he definitely said he was. Maybe it was humor, but it was completely lost on me. I got my cartilage double piercing done here. One of the backings of my piercings fell out and I went back to the shop. He put in a new one. A week later both of the earrings fell completely out. My holes closed. I was very frustrated. I called the shop and the manager told me I would have to pay again if I wanted to re pierce my ears. Now I have scar tissue. I have pierced my ears myself (including cartilage) and have never had a problem. I paid $50 for two cartilage piercings. Waste of money and bad customer service. read more
