My second visit was with Kristen. I was there for a lash curl and tint. She did not introduce herself. Prior to the service,​ you are asked to sign a waiver explaining you understand the procedure​, that they don't promise results and that the after care will be explained to you. She didn't speak to me at all during the service, not to make small talk or to update me on the process. Afterward,​ my lashes were curled and slightly tinted. No post instructions were given or explained. I went home and looked them up and followed to a T. No water or mascara on lashes for 24 hours​. We are 4 days out, my left lashes are much more curled than my right, they are still slightly tinted, except​ the bottom lashes, they are pretty much back to normal. I would say this service was not worth the $75 plus tip.

My "usual" is a facial followed by a pedicure. First visit for a facial, you'll spend some time discussing your skin care routine, any issues &/or problems you have and what outcome you'd like. Services are discussed with you and what is done is your decision (so no hidden add-ons like other places). I've used the same esthetician so she has become familiar with my skin & its changes through the seasons. There is no "hard sell" for purchases here & no "blaming" you for not spending $100's on products they have available. This speaks very highly the Staff understand not everyone that walks in will need any or all their products. (I do use their Hydropeptide cleanser.) Pedicures there are a dream for me: no "razor egg" files (like at Mall & Walmart), just warm foot soak, light acid treatment (I have tough corns on my feet), lotion massaged into feet, ankles & calves, followed by base, 2 coats polish & topcoat for pedicure. Very rarely does polish rub/wear off even after three weeks. I have never had a bad or unpleasant experience at Dermistique's in my many visits. I think if you'll try any of their services, you'll come back: they're not as "cheap" as the quick places (broken out skin &/or pedicures that come off in a week), but I have received many compliments on how great my skin looks. I was told that my nails were drying out and I should consider taking a break from gel . I agreed to not have the gel manicure and have the gel polish removed. When I went to check out, I was charged for a full manicure and really do not believe that was fair. The other thing that I am upset about was, I asked another nail a few months ago if a person should take a break from and was told that there was no need for this. So now I am out $48 and did not get the service I requested. I will certainly be looking for another nail salon if I ever decide to get manicures again, very disappointing. One thing that I usually look forward to is getting my manicures guess I'll just do my own from now on.

On top of downgrading my look, the hair products they used were damaging and created a kink in my hair ($115 for no visible color and the worst haircut I've had in years). I came in for a root touch up for my beautiful highlights (see before/after pictures below). I voiced I didn't need the back done because I was planning on letting it grow out but had interviews coming up and wanted the front done. Didn't come in for a haircut, but requested a trim when I saw how damaged my hair looked after the shampoo they used (which they swore was safe for keratin treats hair *eye roll*). I said I didn't want any length off just split ends gone and layers intact. Layers were not the same at all. Again, additionally, they swore to me all products were keratin safe but they profusely used Paul Mitchell products to my vexation. I went from loving my hair to hating it for $115.

If they needed to come off and be re-done she should've done it! she just filed my rotted nails down and put gel on top. My nails hurt so bad my fingers were actually swollen. I had to get them soaked off at another salon and took 3 months for nails to look normal after. Also walked in there to get a pedicure and one of the nail techs was drinking a beer. Not exactly who you want doing ur nails. Do not go!
