I'm in Columbia for a work trip and needed to get my usual waxes done. Came across Polished and read some solid reviews so I decided to give it a try. Polished is definitely always booked up so make sure you book your appointments in advanced. I was lucky enough to snag two appointments on the same day because of cancellations. With that being said, Ming was the person who took care of my eyebrow, lip, and Brazilian wax. Im weary on using someone new to perform my Brazilians because I've had a bad experience before but Ming was so awesome! Very gentle, walks you through what to do, gives great advice on how to maintain your newly waxed skin. She definitely puts thought and detail into everything at her salon and I love that. I struggled with my rating for this place simply because I loved the nail tech. She's so kind and we had great conversation. My issue with what I got is that I have never had sculpted nails done before so I had no idea what to expect. I went in wanting an acrylic set with a pink ombré design and a glitter ombré nail on my ring finger. I got that but it didn't look like the picture I got the idea from. But I think I could've gotten that from just straight acrylic instead of nail sculpting. Nail sculpting made it much harder for her to accomplish the design because the acrylic powder is the nail polish itself. So it wasn't like regular acrylic where they put the tip on and then the powder and then polish. It was acrylic nail polish that hardens as an extension on your nails. It does get hot when they apply it, so be prepared. But the salon is cute. They do brows, and pretty much everything. If I were to go back I would get a different service done simply because I'm used to just the regular acrylic. The pictures below are what I asked for versus what I got. read more

Jamie was the only technician working when I visited. She was able to fit in my appointment and my sister's appointment when we were home visiting over the holidays, which I appreciated. However, Jamie's manicure and pedicure skills were lacking. After the gel polish was removed from my toenails, she trimmed them and immediately repolished them with gel polish prior to soaking in the foot bath, callus removal, etc. The whole process felt rushed, despite us having plenty of time booked for our appointments and arriving early as requested. Additionally, Jamie was very unprofessional and bad-mouthed her coworkers multiple times during our appointments. She called her coworker "lazy" and a "sloth." After her boss thanked her for covering the salon by herself and had a pizza delivered to the salon for Jamie, she shrugged this off and said "she's just so type A." She spoke about her "hot pool boy" son, which was very uncomfortable and unprofessional. The list of her awkward conversation topics goes on, but these are a few examples of many during our visit. Unfortunately, I will not be back due to Jamie's unprofessionalism during our visit. I don't even know where to start with how amazing Polished is!! I have gone to so many other places around Columbia, and ever since I started going to Polished, I will never go anywhere ever again! Ming is an absolute goddess. She does my nails and threads and tints my eyebrows. I always get gel manicures with her and they will last up to 3-4 weeks at a time because she puts the right amount of coats and really spends time making sure they look amazing. When I first moved here I was extremely careful where I went to get my eyebrows threaded because I am really picky, and she does an amazing job. She also recently started tinting my eyebrows, and she does so well with that as well. The entire facility is so clean, such a cute and fun environment, 10/10 would recommend!! read more

Oh you GUYS! You don't even understand how amazing this place is! First off, the atmosphere is so wonderful and relaxing! I feel like I just stepped into a full day spa when I walk in there. All of the staff is so friendly and welcoming (which is especially nice for me because I don't really get my nails done often, so I usually feel like a deer in headlights when I walk into a nail place. But not here!) And then.... there is Ming. Le sigh. You guys, I can't even begin to tell you how magical this girl is. Let's just say that after a few visits to her, my short, stumpy nails, were long and lustrous! She is absolutely AMAZING! She is honest, professional, and wonderful at what she does. She is also super funny and really makes the whole experience extra amazing because she is fun to talk to, a wonderful nail technician, and makes your nails look like a million bucks. So listen, you guys have to get into this salon. Seriously. I have been to quite a few salons around here, and never have my nails (or soul) felt so good. This place is a spa away from home. This place is awesome! I've been going here for about a year and I can't imagine taking my nails anywhere else but here. Each one of the ladies are very professional and artists. It's a little more $ than the other local nail salons but I have my appointment set, I walk in the door, I sit down and I don't have to wait... they honor my appointment and they are very strict with their appointments and I appreciate that because I don't have time to wait.It's also important to note that they do nail sculpting So the nail looks very natural and elegant. I am constantly getting compliments on my nails. My only suggestion is that this is not a walk-in nail salon, you need to make your appointment well ahead of time if you want to get in during after work hours. read more

I'm usually not one to write reviews, but after paying $45 plus tip for a polish change, I felt like something needed to be said. I scheduled an appointment for a pedicure, not specifying regular or gel polish because I never have before with any other nail salons. When I walked in, I said I wanted gel polish, and was told they couldn't do the foot soak with gels. No big deal, I still thought the rest of the pedicure service would be given though (cuticles removed, massage, etc...). I then had to sit in a wheeling office chair and sit my feet on the technicians knee for my whole appointment. I am a young person, and if it was uncomfortable for me, I could only imagine how someone of a mature age or who has back/knee/leg problems would feel. The entirety of my service was drilling off my previous gel polish, nails clipped (not filed to make smooth) and polished with new color. Also with the position you have to sit in, it makes it a hard angle and all the polish kind of pooled towards the back of my nail/uneven in general. The technician never spoke to me throughout the appointment either. When you come for a spa service of any kind you want it to be relaxing and enjoyable. This was absolutely not, and definitely not worth $45. This place had a high rating on Google, has won awards, and the pictures make it look so nice, but overall the experience was very disappointing. read more
