If the people responsible for opening the restaurant on time can't do their job, it's time to fire some people and get some who can do the job. This Iron Skillet is very rarely, if ever, open on time. The service is less than mediocre at best, bordering on rude, at least in the AM. Being a truck driver, I frequent a lot of Iron Skillet restaurants, and this one is scraping the bottom of the barrel. Time to shut it down and put in a Black Bear as has been done at several locations already. read more

Not good, I was splashed in the face with cleaning solution by waitress and not even a discount on my food bill . She did apologize but still . Unbelievable won't be back. I suggest Just keep passing by like this place never existed. Let it go out of business with terrible food and service. read more

I'm a truck driver that got here at 945pm waited and at 956pm the waitress walked up and said rudely we closed I stated I've been waiting for several minutes and she refused to serve me food or drink. And as a diabetic it's important to eat regularly and healthy well I'm now having to use a delivery service to bring me so unhealthy food cause that's all that is available this late. Why treat the persons who make your job possible so badly. read more

I must say that the food was really good. The waitress was great & very attentive. The 2 piece fish with mashed potatoes and brown gravy, to me was perfect. If we're ever in the area again, we will be stopping by here. read more

This is in a gas station, so I wouldn't get your hopes up. To start off, this restaurant is super outdated with a seat yourself policy. As you walk in you walk past the buffet, that looks like the food had been sitting there since the restaurant opened with no rotation. Upon being sat we requested menus rather than the buffet, and were handed sticky laminated menus that felt like they've never been cleaned. As a person in the food industry for many years I have very high expectations, that sadly many restaurants fail to meet. This restaurant is extremely overpriced for the quality you get, and the biscuits and gravy tasted like they were stretched with water in order to cut down food cost. Also, claiming to be sausage gravy that tastes like watered down milk gravy with chopped sausage patties sprinkled into the mix. Overall everything at the table that I had ordered was extremely bland needing much seasoning to choke down. read more

My fiance and I just went to iron skillet this morning for breakfast. As we went into the restaurant we noticed that it was one waitress on the floor. We sat ourselves and decided to wait a while to be helped. Some minutes had passed and my fiance decided to look for a waitress. No one was found. We proceeded to just go on to the breakfast buffet and serve ourselves. I will say that they have delicious food and wouldnt mind returning. read more

If I can give this place -5 stars I would!! So I went to this place the first time Saturday night! Heard good things about the food and decided to try it out! So we go and seat ourself 2 kids 4 adults... after 15 mins of waiting we head toward the 16.00 buffet (price clearly shown) and started making plates. Apparently in the midst of ordering plates they shut the buffet down and we walked away with some Mac b cheese and fried chicken. Sooo we call for the manager! No way will we pay 1600 for a buffet and only receive 1 chicken and a scoop of Mac b cheese. He is very Rude On first site!! He was so rude the waitress felt like she needed to jump in and explain his rudeness. He told us he would give us a discount. Never said how much. Even tho we asked several times. By the end of our stay Manager Sean had overcharged us, then called security to force us to pay it!!! I'm so disgusted by this service that I have to call the BBB because Sean should not be allowed to treat ANYONE. I would also like a corporate number this man must be fired! He a liar a thief, he doesnt care about the customer being happy or the waitress making money. He is EVERY CURSE word I can think of and I will not spend my money at this location as long as he is allowed to be there. read more

My husband and I frequent the Iron Skillet on Donald L. Hollowell Pkwy. in Atlanta, as it is in our community and is important to us, we enjoy the establishment because of the vast menu, great food, open atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff, so needless to say we were totally caught off-guard with the experience and service we received on Sunday, February 17, 2019. The waitress that served, name card identified her as Kimbo. She was very passive toward the guests we recognized immediately when we sat down as one patron's asked "how long would he have to sit before being acknowledged or served". Honestly, that should have been our cue to depart, however as I stated we had always received stellar service and really didn't think that night would be any different. Waitress Kimbo, was inattentive, nonchalant and in my opinion incompetent as we witnessed her get majority of the customers' orders incorrect. My husband and I invited a young lady that was outside hungry in the rain/cold inside to sit and dine with us as our guest at our expense. The waitress Kimbo was advised of this so that she wouldn't think the young lady was loitering nor soliciting, as we sat to be served and order waitress Kimbo preceded to mistreat the young lady with a curt tone and mean demeanor. My husband and I were very displeased at the behavior of the waitress but before we could say a word to defend the respect of our guest the young lady seemed ashamed and decided to get her order to-go. My husband and I, are totally displeased with waitress Kimbo, her representation of Iron Skillet and her blatant disregard for the many patrons that frequent this establishment. I'm definitely contacting corporate. read more

they have a case of dipped ice cream as you walk to the entry. BAD BAD!! JUST SAY NO!!! Ended up with the cheesecake flavor.

Well after this morning I definitely have to down grade my stars. Eating breakfast and another customer had a complaint with the breakfast buffet.. (I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with the customer) but the way the manager handled this was very poorly... the whole thing turned into to a huge argument and screaming match. It was very scary since you don't know who has a gun these days!! Security was called but I hurried up and left for fear of my safety!! So eat here at your own risk!! read more

VERY GOOD! food was delicious customer service was excellent I had the chicken tenders with honey mustard and fries

I really don't understand why all of the negative reviews. I've been eating here for 10 years, and sometimes it's a little less than stellar, but I've NEVER been treated rudely, or had outright bad food. Since they closed BOLO'S Barbecue next door and built a Burger King, I guess you could go over there or eat at the wing joint across the street, if you don't mind being accosted by dope dealers, prostitutes, and pan handlers. Seriously, be glad you didn't have to park at Bouldercrest. read more

I came here because it was super late and very close to my work. I got to say that I am super impressed. The service was wonderful. I had a jalepeno burger and the salad/soup bar. The burger was very big and juicy. Bread was toasted. The burger actually tasted better than most chain restaurants like ihop, chili's, Applebee's, and etc. The salad bar was decent, some of the stuff wasn't fresh but you can pick and choose. The soup was pretty old but like I said, it was 3:00am and if you get there earlier, I am sure it would of been fresh. There was tons of armed security inside and also in the parking lot watching over your cars b/c the surrounding area isn't the safest. I def. Recommend it and I will make sure I visit at least once per week. read more

Food is edible here when you're hungry. I would probably eat here again if my vehicle broke down and I was hindered from being able to walk too far in search for a better food place.... I guess I'm trying to say I thought and thought of something positive to say and this is what's in my heart after I tried to satisfy my hunger here... I won't go into details too much Well, I see plenty people here eating so perhaps I just ordered the the wrong plate.... read more

Best breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet! Good 'ol home cooking! Great servers! Excellent salad bar!

Normally I love this place. They are above average cooks compared to the rest of the Petros. And service is always friendly and helpful. Today they have one waitress for three sections. I've also noticed the customer lines at the conveinience store are long. Not only here but other Petros too. I do see another waitress but she mostly stands at the register and delivers a plate once in a while. What's going on guys? read more

Got here and restaurant was closed for "maintenance." Opened again tge next morning. Stinks. Smells like bug killer. Which I guess is better than having bugs running around. But don't really know why they closed. Store sells internet service but no signal in restaurant (which they advertise). Staff is like "oh well yeah, some people say they cant get a signal." read more

That was not what I got at the Iron Skillet I was trying too relax after paying for my meal the waitress rudely asked me too leave since I had already paid . No stars didn't deserve any!!! But I guess I have to choose one.... Not my choice!!! food and service were awful... Hot chocolate tasted like dirt water and salad bar was a joke... And she brought it out in a plastic cup Lol ... HELLO it's HOT!!! Chocolate .. It was the first place we ate and first time in Atlanta ... Thought the food would be a lot better... Regardless of the picture displayed for this place, the food is good. Great fresh food. If you're not a trucker you'll probably feel awkward

Maybe several months ago I would've given this place 4 stars for decent food quality and value. I used to frequent this place because it's so close to my office and convenient. You used to be able to get a container from the cashier and go fix yourself a pretty decent-sized breakfast for less than $3. Following the same process today, I was surprised when I got to the register to checkout after I fixed my plate to be told "you have to spend a minimum of $4.89". WHAT?! No warning at all at the beginning. If there are signs with fine print somewhere, then I must've missed it. Didn't see any signs at the register, the food counter, or anywhere else. Of course this also makes you more critical of the food. My bill today would've been $2.50. To double that would have been a pretty heavy breakfast. Not everyone wants to eat like that in the morning. Guess I'll be spending my $2-$3 at the new Burger King next door from now-on for my small, quick, lighter breakfast. I used to recommend this place but I guess I won't anymore. read more
