Fantastic experience. The movers were very professional, fast and careful with my belongings. You hear so many negative stories about moving companies. Well this was the opposite. The phone estimate was quite reasonable and actually ended up costing me a bit LESS! Moving is stressful,it was so nice to deal with the Iron Man team. Hopefully I won't ever need to move again but if I do, Iron Man will be my go to. read more

Kong Movers & Storage (previously Iron Man Moving) helped to get an oversized couch into a fourth story apartment. They had to haul it from the street up over the balcony railing. Not only did they take great care in wrapping the couch, so that no damage would be done, but they also were very careful not to hurt the balcony in anyway or the apartment. They were extremely efficient, friendly, & professional. All done at a fair price. If you need movers for a standard move or something specialized, I highly recommend Kong movers and storage! read more

Neighbors have used Iron Man Moving for moves across the Bay and within California. Before - and after- their move, friends have praised Iron Man's punctuality, efficiency and care. I've watched them load up a truck so quickly and expertly they made moving look (dare I say?) painless. I called Iron Man this morning to see if there was any way I could hire them for a cross country move. Though Bay Area centric, they have moved people out of state to Nevada, Oregon and Washington; there's a small chance they might be able to assist. I can tell you this: I've never heard people rave about **a moving company**, ever. Iron Man is the exception and my experience talking with them today, they're total professionals. read more

I asked my friends for a recommendation for moving company and a few all said they swear by Iron Man Moving. I called and explained my rather unique moving needs, and Derek was super helpful and friendly. My company needed an in town move for a 30 year old business. Lots of stuff. As to the actual experience; worried that once they saw the piles of miscellaneous lumber (torn apart furniture) and heavy lockers and atm and all, that they would politely run screaming away, but it didn't faze them. They started with some heavy stuff, and made it look really easy. It sure wasn't when I moved it before!!! Then they got to lighter stuff and I swear they were running! When they got to the boxes they were carrying 3 or 4 at a time! So quick! It turns out that I actually needed 2 trucks and they quickly adapted and had a second one waiting by the time they were done with the first. Unloading went well too, with everything delivered without any damage and done quickly. They even came in under the estimate. I was ready to give a 5 star review within minutes of them starting, but I waited until it was over. I don't expect to ever move a 30 year business again, but if I did, I would not consider anyone else. My friends were right, and now I'm going to recommend them anytime a friend needs help moving. Thanks guys!!! read more

These guys worked tirelessly. They were very professional & careful. I think the rates are very very reasonable. Be sure to confirm if you are packing it all or them. I likely could have used an extra hand, but it got done. Just a communication error between me / office / team, and no big deal. Thanks Iron Man! read more

Absolutely the best moving experience I've ever had and I've moved 8 times with moving crews including Corrib, White Glove, etc. Iron Man was not a name Id heard of but by referral by a friend I hired them, apprehensively. Low and behold I'm so glad that I chose them. Their crew was careful, smart, fast, cheerful, fun to be around, safe with mask wearing and even after an 8hr day of moving up a hellacious driveway, they offered to stay longer and help organize within the house. Incredible!! Amazing rates, prompt, and exceptional!! Skip the big box movers and the brand name companies, Iron Man is the way to go!! :) read more

It went very well yesterday - awesome work by their crew of two. Arrived on time, worked hard and were efficient and careful--got a 15 ft pod unloaded in 2 hrs (with my help), and nothing damaged. Plus, they were flexible about start time because zippy pod only gives one hour notice when they drop off a pod. That was huge! Excellent communication throughout. They even shrinkwrapped a few things to protect during the move, above and beyond the call of duty. And they were very conscious of security-- not leaving things unattended in a neighborhood known for "grab and runs." I highly recommend them. read more

These guys are the BEST. They moved us about 18 months ago, and it was a fantastic experience, but now I have an even better story to tell. We just bought a hot tub, and due to the way our house is built, the only way to get it into the back yard was by going over the roof. Normally this would be done with a crane, but the high-power lines run right in front of our house. Now what?! I called Iron Man, and Kirk came out to scout the job. What a great guy! Businesslike but warm, clearly excited by the difficulty of the job and geeking out on how best to solve the puzzle. He quoted us a very reasonable price, and we shook hands. Delivery day arrives, and my driveway is swarming with burly tattooed men, hoists, winches, ropes, plywood, etc. They then proceeded to hoist the tub up onto the roof, get it across the roof, and then winch it down the other side--which was way more complicated than it sounds. It was amazing. I could barely watch. I took a ton of pictures and I'll put them up here. They were careful, thorough, and skilled. They also seemed to be enjoying this crazy job! It took them longer than they anticipated, but they stuck to their original quote, which impressed me. All in all, I'd recommend their services 100%. I hope I never have to move anything ever again, but if I do, I'm calling these guys. read more

Did an amazing job moving us from SF to Lafayette. Showed up exactly on time, excellent pricing, and even broke down and reassembled our bed. All our stuff showed up at our new place in perfect condition. I'll definitely use them anytime we need movers. read more

Ironman Moving and Storage is the best company of it's kind in the Bay Area. They made a difficult situation so much better. Because of unforeseen issues, I had to change dates on them twice and they were nothing but gracious. The movers were punctual, they handled everything well, they stored my belongings for 2+ weeks and brought it back with the inventory complete and no damage. Everyone who I dealt with, both on the phone and face to face was a pleasure to do business with. The price was far less than what I had expected and far less than my research on other companies was. I hope to never move again but would call Ironman with no hesitation, if I needed to. Moving is such a stressful life event, do yourselves a favor and take some of that stress away and use this company. read more

THINK TWICE ABOUT HIRING THIS COMPANY Long story short, they seem trustworthy until something goes wrong. The main issue is that the movers DAMAGED MY HARDWOOD FLOOR, so I reached out to the head office to file a claim to get it fixed. The manager said he would look into a resolution and get back to me but he never did. I followed up several times and received no response. Completely ghosted me. Insurance is required for exactly these scenarios, and yet I'm left footing the bill after an unnecessarily expensive move. UNPROFESSIONAL TO SAY THE LEAST. The movers, themselves, were pleasant; although, they did not come prepared with the floor covering I spoke to management about several times in advance of the move. Apparently, despite confirming in writing and signing paperwork acknowledging the masonite tile requirement, the message never made it down the line. read more

Best movers I've ever used. They moved me from Oakland to LA over the summer and were careful, kind, and quick. Nothing was broken or missing. I've had to use another moving company this month and it really highlighted how great Iron Man was. I'd recommend them without hesitation to my friends and family. read more

I moved from San Francisco to Idaho. I've used Iron Man Moving for an in-town move before that went great. So decided to see it they could move me out of California. Iron Man Moving isn't the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Great customer service with a "can do" attitude. They're fast to load their truck yet careful with my belongs and respected the apartment I was moving out. They promised to arrive at my new residence 2 days after loading and arrived as promised. Unloading their truck into my new home was fast yet again and careful with my belongings and new home. After unpacking my belongings I found nothing broken and nothing missing. These guys are professional and I highly recommend using them for your next move. read more

I just used ironman moving last week and they were excellent in providing exactly what was required, totally professional and upfront moving men. They totally were prepared with the necessary staff and equipment and wrapped things protectively w/ moving mats and shrink wrap. The cons however, were that they did show up late and it wasnt stated that they would be charging their hourly rate for the drive back to home base which was a complete surprise (think if a taxi were to charge you to drive back to the airport from your home). I didnt mind much because they did such a good job. I would use them again but make sure that they state whether they are charging for drive time back to their shops. read more

Pros from the get-go! I shopped around a little bit for movers, knowing full and well I'd have to bite the bullet and pay about half my rent for other people to do my heavy lifting/dirty work in the final push of our move. After contacting several places that just felt sketchy in general, a friend referred me to Iron Man. After a brief conversation, I knew this was the place to go with! They called me the Friday before my scheduled Monday move to confirm exactly what I had for them and make sure they had the right equipment. Day of, Brian and team arrived ready to go and had everything they needed and more. I was super impressed with how efficient and quick they were, as well as professional and relaxed. Things I was nervous about them being able to fit in through our wee doorways, they had no problem with. Everything arrived safe and sound! I'd recommend them in a heartbeat. Quick, painless, and now I can finally stop sleeping and sitting on the floor of my new place! :D read more

Wow!!! Let me just say Wow!! This moving company is by far amazing!! Not gonna lie my family and I put them threw a straight mission and you know what?? These men handled it and got it done!! Everything was handled with care. Nothing broken, scratched or damaged. Everything looked just like it was supposed too and got from point a to b in one piece. I seriously can't thank these hardworking men out enough. So if y'all are looking for a moving company don't look any further these men are your guys!! read more

We have used Iron Man moving twice now and also have used them for long term storage. Both of our moves were pretty large jobs. Michael is friendly and his quotes are accurate. All of the movers we've worked with are friendly and professional. They took very good care of our furniture and items. They did an excellent job packing and moving everything in and out. I definitely recommend them. read more

Fast and efficient, they moved my artwork a hallway full of mirrors and not one crack.

I moved cross country last year, and the company I was moving to work for suggested I hire Iron Man to move me. It was the first time I'd ever hired anyone to move me that kind of distance, and I was a bit of a naive consumer. I dealt with the owner, Kirk, and we had several conversations prior to the move about various aspects of the job, cargo insurance, etc, but foolishly, when he didn't supply me any paperwork, I didn't think to ask. During the process of my move, a cabinet got broken, which Kirk notified me of immediately, and fast forward several months to when I got everything unpacked, I noticed a portfolio with a large collection of paintings and other irreplaceable art was missing. I contacted Iron Man about filing an insurance claim, but after no response from the company for two months, I contacted them again. I was finally sent information about how to file a claim, but surprisingly, Kirk simultaneously contacted my boss, who told me I had to drop the claim or I would lose my job. I was shocked the lack of professionalism from Iron Man, especially because I had initially planned on hiring a large company like Allied or United, but was assured that even though Iron Man is a small company, that they are equally legitimate. I have filed a claim since my employment with my old company has ended. Unfortunately I was told by the insurance adjuster that my claim can't be processed because there was no documentation of the move. Apparently Iron Man told the adjuster that the move was done as a favor, even though I have texts documenting that it was clearly a hired job. I paid Iron Man $5000 to move me. They knew I worked in the art field and that I owned considerable amounts of art per our conversations prior to the move. I strongly believe they deliberately evaded protocol in order to have free access to my belongings, and that I am a victim of theft by this company. I find their business practices questionable and their unwillingness to compensate me for loss and damages to be extremely disappointing. read more

They say "measure twice, cut once" but the truth is, it helps to even measure once... I point this out because I failed to measure at all before my wife and I ordered a sofa a few years back. Come delivery time, sofa doesn't fit into the elevator or up the stairs. Ultimately, I had to have it hoisted up to our balcony about 6 stories up. Fast-forward 4 years and it's time to move. I guess I didn't email the previous hoisters and I can't remember who it was so I call practically every moving company in the Bay Area to see who can do the hoist and move. If I recall, Iron Man wasn't available on the day I needed to move. Instead I went with someone else who swore they could take care of it. Come moving day, they show up and the first thing they say is that they can't do the hoist. Cursing ensues. Left with no choice, I'm forced to have them move everything else and leave the couch behind. A few days later, I called Iron Man back and they were able to show up a few hours later, hoist it down with zero problems, and even called in an off-duty guy to drive me and the sofa to my new place the same evening. All of the guys were super friendly and really knew what they were doing. Hopefully I won't have this problem again, but based on how professional and skilled they were, I won't call anyone else the next time I have a personal or work move to do. read more

This review is inexcusably belated...I've been so busy enjoying my new apartment! Quick shout out to say these guys are AWESOME - polite, fast, and exceedingly careful with all my belongings. Even my moving savvy parents who flew in to help their incompetent daughter were impressed. Moving from one busy street to another, I was a little concerned about the parking situation but these guys were pros - they came prepared with cones and other fancy traffic-defying devices. They also stayed pretty close to the given estimate, which is greatly appreciated since I still don't know how I'm going to pay my new rent ; ) read more

I've used iron man 4 times in the past 3 years. Yup, I move a LOT. Each time they've been super fast, reliable, and packed well. They'll also disassemble / assemble beds. In the most recent move, I accidently left a bunch of wine bottles on the moving truck. They called and delivered the wine bottles the next day. A few things to note: - they give a discount if you pay in cash ~10%. - there's a three hour minimum. - there's some sort of gas fee, so ask about that. read more

Crisis! We gave away our old sofa on Tuesday because our new sofa was coming on Wednesday. The delivery people could not get the new sofa in our house! What to do!?!? Send away our chosen sofa and live without one for a couple of months? Oh no! Enter Iron Man Moving... Zane helped conceive of a way to get the sofa into our house, coming over that day to look at the situation and craft a plan. A couple of days later, he and his team showed up and made it look simple. They were professional, carefully, polite (to each other, too), and best of all -- successful! They carefully wrapped the sofa, slipped it out to the back yard, tied it up and hoisted it to the back deck. They walked it in through our sliding glass door, put it in place, and cleaned up well. All well done. The one-star ding is that they weren't exactly punctual. Thanks, Iron Man! read more

My dad has this really annoying habit of listening to the first part of a story and then when he decides he knows how it's going to end, he very clearly stops paying attention because he's a mind reader, dontchaknow? So I was telling him about my recent move and how it cost more than I expected and I didn't understand how we got from the what the owner (?) and I discussed to what was on the contract but...sigh...whatever...what's another $85 in the grand scheme of things? **This is when my dad started grumbling about highway robbery and turned to walk away** DAD! DON'T WALK AWAY! I'M NOT FINISHED WITH MY STORY! Wha? And then I told him about how, a few hours after all my belongings drove off with the movers, I got a phone call from Kirk at Iron Man saying that he didn't understand why I was charged more than we had discussed and I was like OMG KIRK ME NEITHER and then he knocked my socks off by telling me he was going to refund the $85 in question. Whoa, right? In Summary: 1. Very friendly -- at the home office and the movers themselves. 2. Very reasonable in-city storage rates. 3. Very thorough and careful movers (I don't think my Ikea bar stools had ever in their lives been so safe and protected). 4. Fantastic customer service. My dad, you'll be pleased to know, was also very impressed. read more

I had to move my bed and couch that were sitting in storage. I called them only three days before and they made rooms to accommodate me. I have a super huge heavy wooden bed. The previous movers were not able to pull it apart but Ironman did. They were super friendly and arrived on time Saturday morning at the storage place. The huge bed was pulled apart and put together. They also removed and disposed my old bed for only $60. I am really happy that I have a bedroom that looks nice now. I willbe calling them next time I move. read more

My girlfriend and I found a good one bedroom in Russian Hill and decided to move in together. Iron Man made the moving process really easy. Iron Man was well-outfitted. They came with tons of heavy duty blankets and shrink wrap which kept all of the furniture from getting scratched or torn. They provided plenty of wardrobes for my gf;'s abundant collection of clothes. They also had tools to handle tricky situations, like removing hallway doors. Iron Man was affordable. We got two guys for $90/hr. They were big dudes that moved fast. They stopped the clock anytime the did anything personal. We had a lot of difficulty trying to get my gf's couch into our new place. We ended up having to give up. Iron Man cut us a break on the extra time spent trying to squeeze the couch in. Iron Man was responsible and courteous. The day of the move they were running a little late. The called me well in advance of the scheduled start time to let me know. When they showed up the were ready to go. Next time I/we move, I will definitely use Iron Man. read more

I've been LUCKY to have these guys as my movers since 2006. They are incredibly professional, don't joke about being able to move ANYTHING and are reasonably priced. The owner is a sweet heart, hard worker and EXTREMELY respectful and humble. I've referred Kirk to several friends; all have been thrilled with his company's work and are shocked about the reasonable moving prices. read more

Gi and Manny were my movers and they were nice and sincere guys. We had a lot of issues because of other people moving out of the building at the same time (e.g. occupying the elevator, blocking the exit to the truck, etc), but they patiently waited for me to resolve the issue and still made use of the wait time to get other things done. The highlight was when we got to the new place. I have a very tall/gigantic closet that was impossible to fit in through the narrow hallway into the door of my apartment. After many trials, I was ready to give up and throw the closet away. However, these guys took the door off the hinges (which was btw stuck bc it was painted over) and tried again and made it all work out. And the entire time, they did not complain once or show any annoyance. They were super awesome! Very very friendly people and I wanted to give them a hug when it was all done. But instead I gave them a hefty tip, and it was money well spent. The logistics/scheduling people were friendly too, and I felt like it was a breeze to set it up and get started. Best movers I have used, now in 2 Bay Area moves. I've moved an insane number of times including two cross-country moves. There have been problems with every other set of movers. These guys get the job done so fast and smoothly with no breakage. Nicholas did a great job packing and the whole team was great with moving both times (for reference first time was SF to Oak, second was very local peninsula move). Enrique was very responsive via phone/text in setting this up. Move has also consistently come in way below estimate, regardless of whether we did a not to exceed or not. I can't recommend enough and just wish they did cross-country moves so I could have used them for those too. read more

Absolutely blown away by how fast these guys are. My small tech company needed to move our 10-person operation across town. After inquiring for a quote, Michael dropped by our old office to take a quick inventory so our estimate was as accurate as possible. He got back to me within a day with a totally reasonable quote. Packing Day, three guys show up and get our office packed in three hours. They were prompt, super friendly, insanely fast, and very careful with each and every item. They knew exactly how to wrap and pack our art, monitors, and PCs and consoles (all things I was nervous about packing and transporting myself). Because they finished the job so quickly, the day's total came in at half the original quote. Moving Day, five guys show up and load up the truck in under an hour: desks, chairs, boxes and all. They wrapped everything that wasn't already packed. They unload into our new office in under an hour as well, offering to bring certain items upstairs and placed where we want them. Literally nothing was damaged in transit. Once again they were so fast, we paid considerably less than we were expecting for the day. I can't stress enough how awesome these guys are. They're great people and so clearly pros at what they do. read more

I used these guys again after my first positive experience, and am glad I did. Felipe was awesome, a hard worker who kept going and going. He was friendly, courteous, and when he and Howard needed to take a break, they made sure to let us know, and took it out of the total move time at the end. I received at 10% discount for paying by cash. Helpful tip, if the move looks like it's going to last a while, buy the guys lunch! Much better to have happy movers with energy than exhausted, hungry movers. I picked up burritos and water for the guys and it worked out really well. Moving is never fun, Iron Man moving will make it as easy as it gets. Ask for Felipe! read more

I recently (late June 2007) moved from San Francisco to a city about 2 hours away. I looked around for movers, talked to friends, looked online, and ended up calling about 5 places for quotes and information. Pat Ryan had an excellent reputation, but their quote was about twice what everyone else's was, and I just couldn't afford it. Out of the others that I called (all licensed movers), there were two with low quotes, but I didn't really get a good feeling over the phone. For example, I didn't have the impression they were listening when I described the stairs at my place, the amount of stuff, how far away it was going, etc. Iron Man's quote came in mid-range. I liked the guy on the phone, who communicated well, was friendly, and seemed to listen. They quoted me a flat hourly rate for 3 guys and a 24-foot truck, and we estimated how long the move would take given the distance. I made the appointment. On the day of the move, I got a call from the owner saying the guys would be about 15-20 minutes late and apologizing. Considering that I'm perpetually late to everything, I didn't have any issue with that, and appreciated the prompt call. The 3 guys showed up, and they were great: friendly, and super hard-working. I pointed at what needed to go (-- almost everything from a 2300 sq. foot place, with some of the heaviest items on the 3rd floor!), and they just got to work. I was amazed at how quickly, yet carefully, they could move stuff. They were practically jogging up and down stairs. But I never felt that they were being careless with my stuff. Everything was well-wrapped and buffered, and held securely and maneuvered well. These guys were fast! Considering that they were being paid by the hour, you might think they would slow down a little, but they just kept up a really good pace. I gave them some cold drinks, and before I knew it, everything was in the truck. They drove to the new location with no problem, and unloaded everything quickly. And they didn't get annoyed with me telling them "I want that box in front where I can get to it, and that one over there, and..." And did I mention it was about 90-95 degrees at the place they were unloading? They were troopers. Anyway, I gave them a huge tip and was happy to do so -- they earned it. I highly recommend this professional, reasonably priced, friendly company. read more

I've used Ironman three times. Every time they were professional and careful with my belongings. I recently had a GREAT moving experience with this company. A big THANK YOU to Juan and Gabe, the two of them helped me with my move and they couldn't have been friendlier or more professional! This was my first major move; all my other moves I had done on my own or gathered a few friends together and called it a day; so the idea of movers was totally new to me. The day of my move I was so anxious and worried something would be broken or lost, however I pushed those fears aside and presented a together front. Gabe and Juan arrived in a huge, clean and organized Penske truck with all types of supplies (I ordered two guys and a truck, however there were other options). They packed the truck (about a 1 bedroom size apartment sans sofa and loveseat) in about an hour and wrapped all of my furniture in protective wrap to prevent any scratches or dents. After a quick ride across the bridge, we arrived to my new home and they proceeded to unload the truck in the same swift, yet organized manner. I had pre-labeled my boxes, so it was that much easier for the guys to place them in their appropriate places. I had a great experience with Iron Man and it didn't break my piggy bank. They were the most affordable, insured company I called and their service was excellent. I would definitely hire them again. Kudos to Iron Man moving and thank you Gabe and Juan! read more

Absolutely wild how awesome these guys are. My movers were José and Nicholas, and they were unbelievably amazing. They came exactly on time, were courteous and professional, and moved half my stuff before I could blink an eye. They were super careful about all my stuff (I have a ton of sensitive electronics and fragile furniture), brought wrapping and padding materials, and packed the truck like they were playing professional tetris. Finished the job faster than I expected and packed more than I thought possible into my small rental truck. I tipped them well which they deserved. Best moving experience I've ever had by far.
