Queen Bee was looking to get a new hoodie to replace the one she bought here 10 or 11 years ago. Parking was pretty tight over on the north side of the saloon proper. We had to walk by it to get over to the retail store, which is in a huge yard behind it. Yard itself has all kinds of concessions in it, all of which were shut. Only exception, you ask? Why it's the IHS retail outlet, of course! Walk into the joint and its wall to wall T-shirts, jackets, hoodies and other apparel. Beyond that, there are branded accessories and souvenirs in all kinds of categories. One side note: the store is also an impromptu shrine to our newly elected POTUS. The lady at the register, who seemed to be alone in the store, was busy folding shirts but still friendly and helpful at the same time. She was able to answer the Queen Bee's queries and helped her find the way around. One small note is they even have commemorative IHS whisky bottles of both Gentleman Jack, Wolford Reserve as well as other kinds of hooch on one particular table near center of store. While the bottles were quite lovely and tasteful (damn: I didn't snap a photo), I didn't get one for two reasons... 1. I ain't paying $50+ for a $35 bottle of bourbon 2. I ain't livin' down stink eye from the Queen Bee That said, we had to pass through saloon itself to get back to car parking lot. We didn't bother stopping for a cold one and shoot pool, darts or Jack. There were plenty of biker dudes to keep 'em fairly busy for an early weekday afternoon as it was. They seem to have a basic menu of bar food in there also, but I had no desire to stay. Queen Bee got what she wanted, and I became a supportive spouse for the day! I'm sure that anyone reading this should know that once Bike Week, Race Week and all that stuff get closer, this place will get exponentially more crowded. I'm also sure that anyone reading this should realize that this place caters to bikers/riders, particularly Harley ones. Signs all over the place warn patrons to keep out their attitudes, animals and gang patches. At the same time, they are quite accepting of the mostly regular people who just happen to ride. So if you're one of those folks, this lil watering hole slash sub/cultural icon, then there ya go. Mix and mingle with all sorts of fellow hobbyists from doctors, to plumbers, executives and lawyers to teamsters, carpenters and sawyers. read more

I visit Iron Horse several times annually, but the majority of my visits are during Biketoberfest and Bike Week each year. Honestly, there is not a lot going on this part of Ormond unless there is a big bike event; however, Iron Horse is open year-round. The steak tips with mushrooms and mashed potatoes are the bomb, especially with a little hot sauce and salt/pepper, but be prepared to get messy because it is served in a tiny Dixie paper boat that can barely hold the serving. The pork chop sandwich on white bread is a winner, the slab of baloney on the baloney sandwich is thick! and gyros are delicious even though they are not cut from a rotisserie. All of the food out here is pretty damn good and is always cooked fresh; especially during events, since there is always a line. The bands that play here are not always my first choice, but they do have a great lineup every now and then. Drinks are reasonable and if you get to know the bartenders, they might hook you up If you are here during Bike Week or Biketoberfest, definitely stop to say hi to Diana, you can't miss her, she is the gorgeous lady working the bar at the entrance. Also check out the actual Iron Horse bar that is open year-round; it is small, divey, and unique, but they serve a stiff drink. Iron Horse has a great selection of tee's, vests, jackets, and other riding gear available for purchase at their onsite store. During large bike events there are at least 20 vendors on site selling boots, eye protection, knives/pepper spray, installing LED lighting, and repairing upholstery. Iron Horse host several competitions, like their Bikini contest, the baddest bagger contest, the burn-out contest, and more, which enhances the overall Biker experience. During Motorcycle events, lot parking is only for motorcycles, parking is free, but if you cannot ride in loose dirt, don't go down there otherwise you could get stuck. Fortunately, I have no problem managing the terrain; however, I have seen other riders, blow out their cooling system, get stuck, or topple over sometimes two-up on full dressers, ouch! Staff also parks riders like sardines, so there is very little room to navigate out of kickstand position. FYI - there is a ton of other free and paid parking in the area if you prefer to park and ride on more stable ground. All-in-all, Iron Horse Saloon is awesome place to go during big bike events, but just a good place to visit during down season. Regardless, I highly recommend stopping in to check them out. read more

Continuation of my Google review ... I go out of my way to stop here when I'm in the area for their patty melt and fries. I'm usually there about once a month. However today's experience was less than subpar. The french fries were inedible. The patty melt was burnt black. The onions were burnt black. The rye bread was grilled and near burnt. Had to hold it tightly with 2 hands so the meat wouldn't pull out from between the slices of bread. Would have complained and reordered except for the fact that I was there for 45 minutes already and only got what I had. It was 2 in the afternoon so there was no rush to excuse the terrible service and food. And yes, I do ride. Very disappointed and will never, never, ever go back. read more

What a fun bar!!! This is a local super dive bar in my opinion. Must be like 10 bars scattered around the place with plenty of food to offer. Winding two story, walk-way through bars, above the crowds and motorcycle parking, reminds me of an adult jungle gym lol. Was told they only do the steak tips during bike week. They are super delicious and those mushrooms bathed in butter never hit so good! This is the spot to go if you want to chill and people watch. Can't beat the drink prices either. Got a beer and double shot for a total of $10....I said excuse me?! lol so cheap compared to where I'm from. Oh! Cash only! They have an ATM in the souvenir shop, but save yourself the trouble and just have cash ready! read more

Yes, Iron Horse is a biker bar with great party atmosphere. The "patrons" I say "loosely" are fun, loud, full of energy and awesome. NOT for the uptight! The experience for locals, bikers and even tourists is a must when you are in Daytona Beach We are not bikers per se OK, I'm NOT But my husband is , We stop in when we (I'm on the back) are riding through town. The Iron Horse Saloon is an iconic Daytona Beach area destination for Bike Week and Biketoberfest. It is actually located in Ormond Beach, but there has been a strong focus on this area during these special events to bring the bikers up here, primarily because of the Iron Horse Saloon, the Broken Spoke and other big name bars up here, not to mention when Bruce Rossmeyer opened Destination Daytona out here about a decade ago. During the events it is a spacious and fun place, with bars everywhere and some good old rock and roll coming from the bands on the stage. Duting the off season, it is more a regular local bar. Either way, you cannot really go wrong with a visit here. The Iron Horse Saloon (or as I have heard it called by locals as the Tin Pony) is an iconic place and while it shines brightest during Bike Week and/or Biketoberfest, it is opened year round. Everyone is friendly. The food is good. The entertainment during bike week is amazing.

We went here for our first visit during a rat rod and bike show. It was pretty busy but exceptionally well managed so everything flowed very well. This place is a well oiled machine. There were hundreds of people at any given time but no waits no issues and overall good feel. You can tell this they weren't even getting close to breaking a sweat. The ambiance was biker bar and done perfectly. Multiple bars, lots of trash cans, plenty of outhouses, live music, merch stores, and plenty of people watching. We didn't end up eating here but just had a few very fairly priced beers. We had a great time and will definitely be back soon. read more

Yesterday I made the pilgrimage to Daytona Beach for the 25th Annual Biketoberfest. This is a colorful festival w/ bikers from all over the world visiting w/ an eclectic array of motorcycles. This is a serious biker bar. It is vast & is a fun scene. Live music. Vendors. People. More people. Enjoyed a lemonade w/o sugar so a sour lemonade. This bar was very busy during bike week, but the establishment was massive so we had no issues bumping into other people. Speaking of bar - There were multiple bars throughout so getting a drink required little to no wait. Although there was a decent band I think the main attraction was the steak tips. My wife LOVED it. I stopped by here on my way to Destination Daytona for a quick cold one. Parking can be challenging when you come in your car, Bike parking seems to be easy. This place is approx. 15-20 minutes outside of Daytona and the traffic always gets jammed up in front of it during Bike Week. I don't know how this place is during the "off season", but we just went a couple days in a row during Biketoberfest, and it was awesome! I mean there's so much going on! Awesome bands, the Wall Of Death, Burnout Pit, several alcohol booths, merchandise vendors, tattoos. Plus all the upper deck area where you can overlook everything is so cool. It was just party central man. Then they had a bar on the upper deck that was made out of an old short bus. You could buy a big Biketoberfest plastic mug (with a lid) and then everyday from 4-5 you can get all the free beer you can drink.
