I finally found my way back here, and I am so glad I did. Iron Hill has come a long way! It's a huge space with a brewery environment in the front and a huge family sit down space in the back. The restaurant is clean and the noise level is comfortable. First, spend the $20 and sign up for the King of the Hill Club. It's a one time fee. You get all future beers in a 22oz mug for the price of the 12 or 16oz.! Second, the food is good. The big pretzel is delicious and my go to. I like the mustard that comes with it. In terms of entrees I recommend the salmon, chicken Cobb salad and the bangers and mash. All of them are big plates and taste great. I've not had any of the desserts but they sound good. The service here though, is bar none, some of the best in the area. All of the servers are professional and brand ambassadors. They really know their product and all seem like they'd be regulars here if they did not work at Iron Hill. It makes the experience feel like you're with friends who care. They have tasters of beer so you can try before you buy. Love this option. I tried a few and ended up ordering a winter lager, phenomenal beer. The fried brussel spouts were made perfect to my liking. Crunchy with a slight char. The added drizzle and bacon pieces added more savory of a flavor to the dish. Be warned!! I DO NOT recommend substituting for sweet potato fries!! I substituted sweet potato fries ($3.99 upcharge) for the regular fries that accompany the handheld entrees when I ordered a crab cake sandwich, and I literally only got like 5 sweet potato fries. We were told it was because the sweet potato fries are thicker than the regular fries so they give a smaller portion (see picture for portion--it's ridiculously small for the upcharge). Here to write a review about the outstanding service during our meal this past week. Daughter and husband were craving decent fish and chips and we've generally had very good meals and beers here. Our servers were extremely attentive, quick and knowledgeable. The recommendation for the chocolate stout (notes of tootsie roll spot on) was an absolute winner and one of the smoothest and tastiest I have ever had. Kids menu has really nice/thoughtful selections - kids fish and chips perfect for my 10 year old and my older daughter was able to opt for a salad with her burger. Just a nicer version of a kids menu! As a vegetarian, I mistakenly ordered the bbq pizza with bacon - was hyper focused on removing the chicken and didn't see there was bacon. Manager and wait staff came over to apologize even though I assured them the problem was me - they comped me an entire new pizza. A note about my strange taste - the tartar sauce is actually very remarkable and was so good I was dunking my pizza crust in it. Our severs were also extremely thorough in their investigation of our membership issue - resolved when our name was incorrectly spelled in the system and my husband found an email with our member info. Even if you joined years ago, the membership is still good (servers encouraged us to check emails instead of just writing it off). Scored a free piece of birthday cheesecake to boot! And a bonus star because they offer a cauliflower crust. Probably not completely keto friendly but close enough for me! I'm a bit conflicted on applying a rating system here. So on the less positive side of the experience, we were seated at a severely rocking table. I'd rather have a table than a booth, of which there were many, but it was hard to touch the table because it would cause it to move. Then we had to wait with our food at the table for silverware. The gentleman who brought the food was not our waiter, who we had to flag down once for the silverware and once for water. I would have swiped silverware from the next empty table, but of the two tables around us there was only one set of silverware! On the positive - it's largely clean, including the restrooms. They have some lovely fall decorations out. The parking lot, even though it's on one side of a divided highway, has a good amount of room. But most importantly, the food is delicious. The Taste of Germany had three awesome schnitzels, and the broccolini was perfectly cooked with a good snap and great seasoning. The mashed potatoes must be saved for last to absorb the leftover sauce from the schnitzels, and you'll be sad there's not more. Someone told me to check out Iron Hill Brewery Happy Hour. So I did. Decent happy hour deals. A chicken sandwich $3.50 and add fries for $2.50. About the size of a Chick Filet crispy sandwich. Tasty. We each ordered a sandwich only one with fries and a small appetizer Chicken Satay skewers. Portion size perfect for two people. Unfortunately my hubby was not feeling well and wanted to leave. We were told that happy hour deals could not be wrapped. The bar tender did it but warned us that is not their policy. I was a bit taken aback. We did not over order and it was obvious he was not feeling well. That really pissed me off and there was no reason to even say anything to us. Decent food and lots of brews here and plenty of parking. Didn't take us long to get seated and our server Madison was great and personable. We ordered a flight and some tasters. We opted for the "Biergarten" Flight. They were out of the Das Boot so I substituted it for the Pig Iron Porter. Oktoberfest - little lighter than your average oktoberfest when it comes to taste but it was very crisp and easy to drink. Schwarzbier - In my opinion, this tasted more like a Porter than a dark Lager but still delicious. The flavors did come through really well. Vienna Red - You get a little but of the caramel but I did enjoy this beer a lot. It was easy to drink and a great dinner beer. Pig Iron Porter - not as heavy as I thought it would be and you definitely get all the flavor notes. Ordered samples of the following: Blueberry Yum Yum - light Blueberry notes in the smell and taste but a light sour beer. This is not super tart and pretty enjoyable. Milk Stache - Creamy, delicious and not overly rich. I did like this beer a lot and I decided to combine this with their Honey Graham ice cream and it was actually quite good! Watermelon Lager - if you're a normal beer drinker, I don't recommend this beer. It tastes as if you left a piece of watermelon in some water and left it there and it is VERY light..least favorite hands down. Brambleberry - super refreshing and loved the raspberry flavors that you get in the taste and smell. Homestead - another great Farmhouse Ale with great fruity notes but not overpowering. Also light and easy to sip on. For dinner we ordered a variety of things. Food was overall alright and presentation was a little sloppy.. For an appetizer we ordered the Philly Cheesesteak Eggrolls. These were alright, not exactly packed with flavor but I did like the horseradish sauce it came with on the side. Also good with the ketchup. I ordered the Kennett Square Mushroom soup and it was really good. Very finely chopped mushrooms and creamy. For dinner, we ordered the Chicken Pot Pie, Char-Grilled Ribeye Steak and Cajun Fettucine. The dinner entrees were lacking just a little but of salt. The pot pie had a good crispy topping and the steak was cooked decently but the chimchurri didn't add too much to the overall dish. My pasta had plenty of andouille sausage but the shrimp was not cleaned very well. Decent flavor but not spicy and I think there was just too much sauce on the plate. The Honey Graham ice cream was delicious and as I mentioned, I put some in the taster glass and poured in some of the Milk Stache beer to make a little beer float and it was actually quite good. The food was, in summary, a tad disappointing but the beer was good and we had a great time with a easy going atmosphere. Service was great and you can pay your tab at the end through a QR code. If I could give 3.5 stars I would but since half stars aren't an option I'll round up because our server was great and the beer was very good. Came for happy hour after work on a Friday. Their happy hour runs 4-6 Monday-Friday. We arrived at 5. Looked like $2 off all beers and for food there were $3 select sliders, a few options at $6 (fried Brussels sprouts, buff chicken egg rolls, and a chicken quesadilla) and a handful of options at $9 (mostly consisting of different pizzas, a burger with fries, and haddock tacos). We were seated and a server was with us almost immediately. She was great. Very knowledgeable about the beer. Was able to make recommendations and describe each beer in depth. She was constantly swinging by the table asking if we needed anything and made herself readily available through our time dining. We had a flight and 4 different drafts. All of our beer was enjoyable. The IPAs were hoppy but smooth. The winter warmer had a very satisfying cinnamon flavor, I really enjoyed the imperial stout I ordered. At $5-$6/beer on happy hour it was well worth it. I would return for the beer alone. The food on happy hour was priced very reasonably. The burger had potential. By itself it was good, but it seemed like there was a distinct seasoning on all of the food (including the burger) that made everything taste somewhat similar and was overpowering. The food wasn't horrible but I'm not sure I would order food from here again. For 3 people our bill ended up being around $67 which isn't much at all. In the end it all ended up being worth it. First we stood at the hostess desk for what felt like 15 mins before anyone came to seat us our waitress was very nice but my chicken over rice and peas tastes like grass,way too much of the seasoning and the rice tastes old with little to no seasoning, the bangers over mash was drown in what looked like beef gravy but tasted like thick French onion soup,now my boyfriend is not one to waste food so he ate a good potion me well I ate 1 half of the chicken breast thank God for the little sauce around the edge to cut all the seasoning. Let's start with the food. How on earth do you improve on perfection? You don't. The Calamari was just right. Crispy on the outside and chewy underneath and flavorful! Next, the ribs... I'm from the deep south and those BBQ ribs, that sauce... absolutely wonderful! I mean the meat fell off the bone and melted in my mouth. The fries didn't need any ketchup. Seriously, dip them things in the BBQ sauce and call it an experience. Then there was the dessert. I didn't know you could do that with Apple pie and now I'm more of a fan of Apple pie than I already was. Along with a sample of the peachy keen sour (inspired by the peach ring gummy candies) and a glass of Montepulciano, I enjoyed the delicious crispy brussel sprouts which had a light lemony flavor. We were very lucky to have found this restaurant as we were a group of 8 looking for indoor dining to celebrate a birthday. We called last minute and they were able to accommodate our group of 8 without any hesitations. Here is the review of the Maple Shade location. Service: 5/5 - a little bias because they were able to accommodate our group without any wait on a Saturday evening. We were very happy with the sanitation and social distancing measures. Our server was very friendly and was able to feed a group of 8 very hungry individuals quickly. They were even able to cut a cake we had brought with us into slices so that we didn't have to do it ourselves. Food: 4.5/5- Their is a great selection of items available at this restaurant. There is something for everybody. The drink menu is extensive and has many drinks to choose from. The drinks were fairly priced. I opted for the Philly Phavorite. They do tend to push you out at the end of the night if you get sat in the dining room, and will start cleaning around you.
