The egg drop soup smelled and tasted like sewage and the microwave beeping was echoing through the restaurant. The entire building smelled like it had a sewage leak and I have never had worse fried rice or chicken. It was like eating wet sponge. The fact that this place is rated as highly as it is, is baffling. I'm no stranger to chinese takeout, but this was awful. read more

Our food was delicious, hot and fresh. This was such a treat to have an incredible meal on Christmas.

I've lived in the area for nearly 10 years and never tried this place. Glad I finally did. Good food prepared well and plenty of it. Excellent value for the money! read more

Delicious General So's chicken and fried rice! I wish I had ordered vegetables with it and was pleased to find wonderfully cooked broccoli inside. The disappointing part was that there were only 2 pieces of broccoli. The sauce although thick, and I'm sure sugary, didn't leave me feeling gross. This made two wonderful meals! The spring roll was okay to me. The order was quick and see ice was great! read more

Iron Chef - General Tso's Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

Carry out Mongolian beef , not allot of spice or flavor . Food was ready when I arrived for preorder .

The BEST Chinese takeout place in town. The staff is so friendly and the food is always delicious. Inside the shop I never have to wait long, there is a variety of drinks in the fridge, and paying is easy too. The chicken fried rice, egg drop soup, and bourbon chicken dishes are my favorite. Just all around a great place. read more

This place is gooood! We were a little put off when we walked inside because it was the size of a shoe box, but we ordered anyway and we were so happy. My daughter is an orange chicken fanatic and she said it was the best orange chicken she'd ever tasted. I had the bourbon chicken and it was wonderful, as was the sweet & sour pork. The hot & soup was a tad too spicy for me, but it was great. And there was a lot of food! A. Lot. Try it, enjoy, just watch out for potholes in the parking lot. read more

Iron Chef - Bourbon Chicken - Chinese Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

The food at Iron Chef is mostly very good. I enjoy the Hot and Sour Soup, their Spring Rolls, the Beef Lo Mein and double cooked Chicken dish. The Bourbon Chicken is also very tasty. The service is usually very pleasant. The shop itself is not indicative of the food...thank goodness. He needs to get a professionals opinion. Then re-do the whole inside. It looks dirty but it's not. I know that's easier said than done but it really is out of control. This is my second post. Putting it simply, the food is great but the inside needs some TLC! read more

This is a real quick place to grab takeout if you're hungry. It's super accessible and easy to order. You can call it in or just come pick it up It's walking distance from my house so it's basically my go-to. They seem to be practicing good covid procedures. I always order the small chicken fried rice and spring rolls which is usually plenty for me. read more

I always have a great experience my food is always great and hot fresh the restaurant is always clean

It's takeout Chinese food. You know how takeout Chinese food tastes. It's that. Don't ask to see a menu, just order what you always from a Chinese takeout place, and it'll be good. read more

I think they do "take-out only" well. The General Tso sauce had good flavor but the chicken was tough and chewy. The Pepper steak was just ok. Overall I feel that quality was lacking. We chose Panda Express for our next take-out and enjoyed better quality and quantity for similar price. read more

Just did not taste good. The noodles in lo mein were really thick. No flavor. The sweet and sour chicken was all breading

I had the lo mien and did not like the sauce, I also switched to egg rolls that tasted bad. This is a take out place. Cashier was very kind and sweet. Not a place to enjoy your food, only 2 tables, and cooler that looks like it is used to store stuff. read more

Iron Chef - Location in mini mall. - Chinese Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

I would give a 10 stars if I could! I ordered steamed and fried pork dumplings, crab rangoon, shrimp and rice, egg roll and more. Not a bad choice out of all the meals. Food was fresh and hot after drinking home to eat. I sometimes have negative reactions to Chinese food but NONE with any of the choices we made. Don't justy take it from me, all family gave it a 5+ rating. Can't wait to be back in Lexington to try it again. No pictures of food but the door was fixed to limit direct contact. I absolutely love this place. You get so much food. I had a lot of leftover! Their steamed dumplings are my favorite as well as their Chinese donuts! They are always so nice when I go in to pick up my food. I'd highly recommend them. I noticed there weren't updated photos for their menu so I thought I'd give those because prices have gone up just a bit. read more

This was probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had! Ordered chicken fried rice and the chicken was incredibly strange, spongy and zero flavor. Couldn't eat it. I also got sesame chicken and it was drowned in sauce but somewhat edible. The egg rolls were ok but the spring rolls were not edible either. 0/10 don't recommend, wasted $53 dollars. read more

Iron Chef - Chicken fried rice - Chinese Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

Cashew chicken: strangest spongey texture chicken with no chicken taste. Looked great though; celery seemed to be only other ingredient beside cashews. Mongolian beef: beef tasted spoiled. Smelled *off* immediately on opening container. It was cooked a deep dark color. Lo mein and rice sides were fine as was Crab Rangoon. First visit based on th many good Yelp reviews about th food. Food quality of the proteins was nothing like th reviews. Pickup order was prepared in time and th kitchen area at 8:15pm was dark, some food was out. I did not notice latest health inspection rating. Very disappointed, tossed everything after a few bites. (Motivation to write first review) read more

Iron Chef - Mongolian beef off-tasting; cashew chicken spongy texture no chicken flavor--tossed everything after few bites. 7/5/19 8:15pm - Chinese Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

bland. holy crap they need seasoning or sauce or something no flavor at all and chicken is so chewy. boo

Great taste and reasonably priced! Fast friendly. We go every week or 2. They are closed on Tuesdays - so don't forget like we did

When we really can't decide what sounds good, we can usually agree on Iron Chef. The food is always good, the staff is friendly, and the delivery is fast. I usually get General Tso's Chicken with light sauce. It's excellent! My son loves the Mongolian beef and my daughter the plain Lo Mein. My wife tries something different almost every time. Nice to order from. read more

Fantastic food!! It's easy to miss the place but once you know where it is, you'll go back. We had the Gen Tso's Shrimp and Orange Chicken. The portions were very generous and right out of the wok. We will definitely go back! read more

I don't even want to put a single star on this place. NEVER say never right? If the world was coming to an end, MAYBE I would eat their crap. I ordered "chicken with broccoli" for my son, well all that money gone down the drain. If the super market doesn't sell yellow broccoli, then I think a restaurant shouldn't either. It wasn't worth the hour of wait for the 3 little pieces of chicken & the 15 pieces of old broccoli. I ordered "Chow Mein" & I will start off by saying, I am from California and chow mein is the actual noodles. I got the Cabbage stuff, I didn't know California "chow mein" was Kentucky 'lo mein" . The lady asked me if I wanted cabbage or the soft noodles, I said noodles. I got the cabbage stuff with the "crunchy noodles" aka chips. I called the place back to let them know my order was wrong. I did delivery by the way. The lady starts YELLING at me because I got confused and it was MY FAULT and MY MISTAKE and SHE DIDNT HAVE TIME FOR ME.... These are actual phrases from her. I want to state one thing...... BAD COSTUMER SERVICE I asked for my money back because truthfully I do not need to get yelled at by someone who isn't my mother. After trying to get my point across multiple times, and explaining that I understand it is my fault, but I just wanted to clear it up, she still yelled at me but eventually says she will send me the "lo mein" and next time I better get the name right..... is that a threat??? I didn't even get a chance to say thank you because she hung up the phone on me, in my face, whatever you would like to call it. WORST COSTUMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! There is no form of professionalism in this location at all, even the delivery driver seemed mad. It was my fault I understand that, but it was an honest mistake, there was no need for a guilt trip and telling me off over the phone. to end my review... I wouldn't recommend this place, because of the lack of costumer service and professionalism. read more

Iron Chef - Old broccoli & more broccoli than chicken. I thought it was chicken with broccoli not the other way around. - Chinese Near Me - Lexington, Kentucky

I must admit I was very pleasantly surprised that Chinese delivery could be this good. Delighted actually. Crab rangoon had a generous tasty filling that went beyond just cream cheese, making dipping sauce optional. I agree with another reviewer regarding Mongolian Beef. Beef, onions, and spicy sauce as it should be. No veggie fillers. It was delicious. Enough for at least two meals even for hearty appetites. Shrimp fried rice was good. House special mei fun was good as well, albeit a tad bland. It needed something, possibly heat or a smidge of golden curry. That's probably on me. I didn't mention a heat level preference. I was expecting it to be like Singapore noodles I've had. Three entrées and an appetizer at $33.34. Excellent experience. read more

On the way home stopped here for the first time to try some Chinese takeout to go. It's a small little store front with a couple of tables upfront if you want to sit and eat. But obviously they make most of their business with takeout and delivery. The portions are large and were more than enough to have two meals if you wanted to. Food is good and I would recommend going again. read more

General tso was actually spicy. Egg rolls were on point. Service was quick. Food was fresh,

I've lived in the area for over 2 years and never knew about this little treasure of a Chinese Food restaurant!! Currently "no eat in offered" so we picked up our choices for take out and ate at home. The way this food is packaged is super, as our food was still VERY HOT after stopping for errands that we were pleasantly surprised to eat hot carry out! The most DELICIOUS and well prepared food was in these containers and we can hardly wait to revisit this gem!! read more

I usually order the Szechuan chicken or Kung Pao chicken. Everything that I have ordered from Iron Chef has been excellent.

In my heart, Iron Chef is the only Chinese take out restaurant. There's nowhere else I'd go! The food is fast, without any loss of quality. My whole family loves it! We can pick up an order within 10 minutes of ordering, and still have it taste hot and fresh. It's consistently great. Staff is friendly, and I've never had any issues with my order! I personally go for the sweet and sour chicken! Great sauce, and nice crispy chicken that isn't even remotely dry. My mom is a huge fan of their potstickers and pork fried rice. Their chicken mei fun is also great! Those are what stick out most to me, but there's never been a thing here that I haven't enjoyed. One of the best parts of coming home to lexington is getting to get my Iron Chef Chinese food. read more

Best Chinese carryout I've had yet in Lexington. Best food, prices, and their Covid protocol was fantastic.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in town. They don't deliver to my area but the food is always worth the drive. I always get the General Tso's Shrimp w/ pork fried rice. There pork steamed dumplings are always delicious. The best I've had in this city. The employees are always friendly and the food is always of good quality. I'd definitely recommend giving Iron Chef a try. read more

This restaurant is basically a hole in the wall which makes it great or as my son would say "this place is magical." I got fried dumplings steamed rice and cashew chicken with extra cashews and I was not disappointed I have been there many times and ordered a different dish each time and every time it's better than the last time, also they deliver which it also makes it very convenient for me and my son, if your ever near Todd's Center I highly suggest you try this Chinese restaurant if you haven't it may not look like much but the place is awesome I would give it 5 stars if they had more seating but hey 4 stars and this awesome review is good enough. read more

Good portions (by good I mean "huge") Delivery is always fast and everything tastes fresh. With delivery and tip we got 2 entrees, 2 apps, and an egg roll for less than $30. Which seems high, but honestly we could've shared one of each and been just fine. We were starving (and have big appetites) but we still have enough for generous leftovers later. Always a good experience:) read more

We love this place close to home, priced well and food tastes great. I usually get the general tso's chicken combo with fried rice and egg roll. My wife gets the chicken and broccoli and my oldest son loves it as well. Food has always been fresh and ready quickly. If I am out of town for work my boys say oh yeah we get to have Chinese. I love the crab Ragoon and my wife likes the steamed dumplings for appetizers. The shrimp egg rolls are also really good. This in my opinion is the best Chinese place in Lexington. The staff is friendly from time of placing order and pick up. On the occasion the delivery guys are also very pleasant. read more
