General Tso's Chicken
Sydney H.

Delicious General So's chicken and fried rice! I wish I had ordered vegetables with it and was pleased to find wonderfully cooked broccoli inside. The disappointing part was that there were only 2 pieces of broccoli. The sauce although thick, and I'm sure sugary, didn't leave me feeling gross. This made two wonderful meals! The spring roll was okay to me. The order was quick and see ice was great!

Bourbon Chicken

This place is gooood! We were a little put off when we walked inside because it was the size of a shoe box, but we ordered anyway and we were so happy. My daughter is an orange chicken fanatic and she said it was the best orange chicken she'd ever tasted. I had the bourbon chicken and it was wonderful, as was the sweet & sour pork. The hot & soup was a tad too spicy for me, but it was great. And there was a lot of food! A. Lot. Try it, enjoy, just watch out for potholes in the parking lot.

Location in mini mall.

I had the lo mien and did not like the sauce, I also switched to egg rolls that tasted bad. This is a take out place. Cashier was very kind and sweet. Not a place to enjoy your food, only 2 tables, and cooler that looks like it is used to store stuff.

Pick up window worked great!

I would give a 10 stars if I could! I ordered steamed and fried pork dumplings, crab rangoon, shrimp and rice, egg roll and more. Not a bad choice out of all the meals. Food was fresh and hot after drinking home to eat. I sometimes have negative reactions to Chinese food but NONE with any of the choices we made. Don't justy take it from me, all family gave it a 5+ rating. Can't wait to be back in Lexington to try it again. No pictures of food but the door was fixed to limit direct contact. Support small business!

Chicken fried rice

This was probably the worst Chinese food I've ever had! Ordered chicken fried rice and the chicken was incredibly strange, spongy and zero flavor. Couldn't eat it. I also got sesame chicken and it was drowned in sauce but somewhat edible. The egg rolls were ok but the spring rolls were not edible either. 0/10 don't recommend, wasted $53 dollars.

I absolutely love this place. You get so much food. I had a lot of leftover! Their steamed dumplings are my favorite as well as their Chinese donuts! They are always so nice when I go in to pick up my food. I'd highly recommend them. I noticed there weren't updated photos for their menu so I thought I'd give those because prices have gone up just a bit.

Mongolian beef off-tasting; cashew chicken spongy texture no chicken flavor--tossed everything after few bites. 7/5/19 8:15pm
Mark D.

Cashew chicken: strangest spongey texture chicken with no chicken taste. Looked great though; celery seemed to be only other ingredient beside cashews. Mongolian beef: beef tasted spoiled. Smelled *off* immediately on opening container. It was cooked a deep dark color. Lo mein and rice sides were fine as was Crab Rangoon. First visit based on th many good Yelp reviews about th food. Food quality of the proteins was nothing like th reviews. Pickup order was prepared in time and th kitchen area at 8:15pm was dark, some food was out. I did not notice latest health inspection rating. Very disappointed, tossed everything after a few bites. (Motivation to write first review)

This was the first time…read moresince moving to the United States that I felt we were treated in a way that made us question whether racial bias was involved. On Sunday, July 5, we went to J2C for lunch. A male server seated us at a table that was quite dark and directly under a strong air conditioner. I politely asked if we could move to a table by the window. He said yes, but told us to wait while he cleaned the table. My husband and I waited patiently by the other table, looking through the menu. During that time, we saw the male server come out several times to serve other customers, but he never came back to us or acknowledged that we were still waiting. We didn't complain--we simply continued waiting. 15 minutes later, a female server noticed us waiting there and asked if we needed anything. I explained that our original table was too cold and asked whether we could move to the window table. She said yes, cleaned the table, and then waved for us to come over and sit down. At that point, everything seemed fine, and we were looking forward to ordering our lunch. However, shortly afterward, the male server walked directly over to us and began scolding us. He said, "You need to learn to be patient. I told you I would clean the table, and you shouldn't have moved without communicating with me." I calmly explained that the female staff server had cleaned the table and told us to sit there. I asked him, "What did we do wrong?" He replied, "Yes, everyone made a mistake. You just need to learn to be patient." I still don't understand what we did wrong. The female employee who told us to move to the window side table was also works for the restaurant, We simply followed her instructions. So why were we being blamed? From the moment we entered the restaurant until we left--nearly 20 minutes later--the male server never once came over to check on us or even offered us a glass of water. In the end, we decided not to eat there because we did not feel respected or welcomed. We will not be returning. This was an extremely disappointing experience and reflected very poor customer service and restaurant management. I sincerely hope the management will look into what happened and ensure that all customers are treated with courtesy, respect, and fairness.

I liked that our pop tasted good, not too watery or flat. We ordered the orange chicken and mongolian beef. The temperature of the food was great. The flavor on the orange chicken was very pronounced, very tangy and yet sweet. There were fresh chunks of carrots, green pepper, and zucchini with sliced orange peel. The chicken had very light breading but was a little on the dry side. The Mongolian beef cuts were thinly sliced, good cut of beef not chewy but there was an overwhelming amount of red, white and green onions. It was a little bit much. Surprisingly the flavor on them was not overpowering though, they were well cooked and more subtlety flavored, just alot of them. Overall, it was a very good experience and we'd go back again. The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly.

And their Kung Pao tofu delivered all that I could have hoped of it. A packed full container of finely cubed fried tofu (one hack for anyone that doesn't know how to make tofu taste good: you should probably cut it smaller to give it more surface area to absorb whatever sauce you're cooking it in) as well as some diced carrots, baby corn, and quite a lot of peanuts in a brown sauce with just a bit of spice. I also got some sesame noodles, which is one of the more basic versions of the dish I've had, which is basically just noodles with a dollop of spiced peanut butter to spread around and coat them with. This probably sounds like a dig, but it's pretty satisfying and the noodles themselves had a nice soft texture. It was, as I would expect, a ton of food for the money. Basically the whole interior of this little building was devoted to what looked like a clean and organized kitchen. Fancy? Authentic? No, but American Chinese cuisine is a subculture of its own, and this seems a good example of it. I definitely think it would be worth returning to try their other tofu dishes.

I ended up ordering a few appetizers. The Hot & Sour Soup was the standout... flavorful, comforting, and easily a 5/5 on a cold n wet day. Unfortunately, the rest didn't quite hit the mark. The shrimp rolls were below average... mostly lettuce, the shrimps were dried out, and they took about 10 extra minutes to come out. The crab rangoon was the biggest disappointment; the filling had an unpleasant smell and tasted like heavy, clotted cream cheese and there wasn't even an iota of imitation crab meat to justify that name. My friends ordered egg rolls, which actually looked pretty good (I'd say a solid 4/5), and Singapore noodles, which unfortunately looked underwhelming. Overall, there are a few bright spots, especially the soup, but the food quality and atmosphere were inconsistent. With some updates and more attention to freshness and flavor, this place could really improve.
