Irma is the best! I brought in a lolita dress, which is a fashion style with intricate designs and Victorian style clothing. She looked at my broken zipper and told me two choices. Either she'll fix the invisible zipper for 15, or if it doesn't work she'll replace it for 40. She easily could have replaced the zipper and charged me more. She didn't though. I got my dress back in perfect condition and only spent the 15. That kind of integrity can be hard to find, so I appreciate Irma for that. Not only that, but she showed me her tools she used to sew the zippers with once I told her I liked to sew myself. I thought that was so nice and made my experience pleasant. I really wanted to come in for alterations because of the great reviews here on Yelp. So I called the store early to inquire regarding alterations and the lady asked when do I need it. Told her in 2 weeks or by the first week of February. She then told me she needs to see the dress first so I came in to the store that afternoon. I don't know but I got a feeling that she was bit annoyed or did not want to assist us. She said she was gonna go on vacation and will not get the dress done till Feb 14. I am just disappointed coz all of this could have been communicated when I called in that morning. If only she had told me that she wont be able to do the alterations because she'll be on vacation then I would not waste my time to come in that afternoon. Irma was sweet. I walked in to ask about hemming a dress for a wedding. It was mid "prom season" and yet she took me right away, got me all measured within 15 minutes. I returned about 10 days later to pick up and everything was all set and ready to go. Thank you!! The only reason for not giving five stars: The day I went to pick up the dress, I arrived at 10:05 am (shop is scheduled to open at 10) and waited around until 10:22 until she finally showed up to open. Called Irma's Alterations because I found a great dress for an upcoming wedding but it was a little too long for me (I am 5'1" so most dresses are too long for me). She told me to bring it in the next day and within 5 minutes she had me all pinned up. She brought in the straps, raised the hem, and took in the back so no it lays nice and flat. Irma is a professional seamstress with vision. She doesn't over-promise the turnaround time, and one can expect that the results will be awesome. Went in to have a bridesmaid dress tailored. They were able to do the fitting immediately and have the dress completed within a few weeks. Irma is a great resource. She altered my wedding dress. She really knows what she's talking about and made me feel very comfortable leaving my dress with her. The dress was strapless. When I got it it had about an inch of too much give so when I showed Irma she seemed confident that she could fix it.
