The Irish bred pub used to be an okay place to go but the food now is just subpar and the prices are way too much to justify the quality of the food. There is also a huge rat problem here. Me and my girlfriend tried it out once more the other day and the bot only was the food bad, the service rude, but we say a huge rat the size of a cat in the service alley right next to where they fold silverware. I was told by someone who use to work there they have a huge rat issue and it's never been addressed there. I was pretty sick to my stomach. Really amazingly good mixed drinks - I especially enjoyed the blueberry mojito and thought it was a unique kind of drink. I'm happy they are offering a couple of vegetarian options. I like Beyond Meat products, but I'd be much more eager to have a house made veggie burger or veggie dog, since Beyond Meat is widely available in grocery stores, or even a bean, lentil, or grain based dish. Most of my experiences dining in have been very good, but twice we've asked to move to another table because the chairs and benches have been uncomfortably cramped. They've always accommodated this request very kindly, but I wish the tables and benches would be adequately spaced. Very first time eating there. My wife and I couldn't decide where to eat and we tried it on a happenstance. Hostess gave me a menu to take back to the truck! I chose the salmon with asparagus and carrots cooked in brown sugar. My wife chose vodka chicken. We both were very happy with our meals! Compliments to the chef! I've never had a bad meal here and this will probably be the place I miss the most when I graduate from Auburn. Went for dinner-- we had a couple of the sandwiches and a burger along with the may tag chips. The chips really were pretty good even though they had been talked up. Strong option if you're nearby. The liveliest bar option in town and the only option offering this kind of food and drink. Pub classics and American comfort food with a bar offering cocktails, Irish specialties, and some beer, including a couple of local brews. The fish and chips was especially delicious. Two ample-sized lances of tender white fish under a crispy thin layer of fry. Well-done all around. The buffalo wings were okay, though short on spice. The waitress, "K," also brought me Blue Cheese even though I asked for Ranch. Oh well, no biggie. For the most part, I think most menu items are overpriced at least 20%. Question - why isn't the corned beef and cabbage on the regular menu every day of the year? This was recommended to me by a family member who lives nearby. I think the Shepherd's Pie should be excellent at any Irish pub. It's as basic as Guinness. The version of shepherd's pie here ($11) seems to just be a crumbled up hamburger patty, topped with gravy, mashed potatoes smeared on top, and sprinkled with mozzarella in a styrofoam bowl. I mean, it's okay, for what it is, but if you are expecting it to be served in the dish it was baked in with that wonderful crispy potato and cheese crust, you will absolutely be disappointed. Dinner was decent here. The staff is snooty though. Don't expect great interaction with the staff, because they all acted like they had a chip on their shoulder. The food was "okay" but for the price you pay is kind of a rip off. My asparagus was not that good, but the steak was decent. I tried the max&cheese; it was awful. Drinks were very good, but the brewery is right across the railroads. The Shepard's pie is very good! It's really good food, but this place just can't get its act together with their service. Servers are MIA for twenty minutes at a time every time I eat here. Our group of 10 arrived for dinner last night just as other large groups were arriving. Since they don't take reservations, the entire group had to be present before we were seated. To cut down on the wait for a large booth, we mentioned our group could be split up between two tables. We were seated right away. Service was quick and consistently friendly. We never felt a lag in service even though the place was slammed. The menu choices are a mix of traditional Irish pub food and American classics. So many wonderful dishes to choose from! Everything our group ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked (Guinness stew, Shepard's Pie, Fish and Chips, chicken wings). The German riesling they serve here is the best I've had. I have to give this restaurant four stars instead of five due to a slight mix up with our order and a second mix up with our bill. My husband had the chicken sandwich and said it tasted like it was either a prepackaged cooked chicken breast that was put on the grill for a few minutes or it was boiled and then grilled for a few minutes. I reluctantly settled on a burger, which was cold on arrival. My date ordered the bangers and mash. The mashed potatoes tasted like cardboard and the sausage was undercooked. Decided to check in with this place, it was about a year since I've last been. Not a great experience, the food was okay, we were awkwardly placed at a table away from the rest. So lonely. It took about 10 mins to flag down a waiter to order and then we waited 30-35 mins for our food to come. Got the bangers and mash, I was supposed to get sautéed peppers and onions - I counted 3 pieces of peppers and 7 of the onions. Also, there were burnt pieces hidden in the mash potatoes. I couldn't tell what they used to be, but it wasn't a nice surprise when I took a bite and tasted them. Waiter only checked on us once after getting our food, didn't come by at all while we were waiting on our food even though we finished both of our waters. Will not be back. :( read more

I was frustrated that I went here with my parents who are visibly older and the hostess told us that the only seating available was upstairs and continued to walk us to our seats without asking if it was ok. She had no spacial awareness that when she got to the table she turned around and my parents were still struggling getting up the two sets of stairs. Pay attention! This place is a hit or miss. Been here 3 times recently after a long time of not going and tonight reminded me why I stopped going in the first place. Unfortunate because the last two times we had great experiences with service and food. Our waiter was new tonight but overall did his best but the woman helping him was rude to him and us. Husband ordered biscuits and gravy , they just gave him toast cause biscuits weren't ready. While eating, there was loud live music coming from upstairs. Band warming up for church. I have eaten here twice now and they do not disappoint. I love that they actually season their fries. We had the Irish Style Fries the first visit and they were fantastic! I was turned off on the brown gravy, but once I tried it, it seemed like a remarkable addition and I can't believe everyone doesn't do this! On my second visit, I had the Cheesy Lassie sandwich and it was good. It was basically a Philly Cheesesteak, but by a different name. I would definitely order it again!
