I found this location on Yelp as I was looking for an Irish restaurant to go to on St. Patrick's Day. I didn't want just a pub but one that also serves actual meals. I knew they'd be busy, but I wildly underestimated HOW busy they'd be. In fact, I hadn't even checked into it enough to know they were having live music, an outdoor dining space, etc. I arrive right at 5pm and it was already slammed. Apparently they'd had the festivities going on all day, from what I heard. There was a $5 cover charge to get in. There was also a limited menu but had enough options for us to choose from. I am not sure if they increased their prices for this event, but I paid $19.99 for corned beef and cabbage on a paper plate. I'm not complaining, just stating that I assume this is not what they normally serve food on and perhaps the prices are usually different. Either way, we all ate our meals and enjoyed the live music and lively feel of the event. I met the owner briefly and he seemed like a wonderful person who cares a lot about his establishment. I wish I would've gotten a photo of him in his festive attire. All of the staff were wonderful!

Needed something different for lunch today & decided to finally give this spot a try true definition of a pub family owned and operated I made a call in order & picked up at the bar looks like a cool spot for the locals and looks like they have live bands to come & play I tried the lunch special sliders & fries sliders came with beer cheese caramelized onions and lettuce and tomatoes they give you two sliders which were very filling and the fries were homemade I enjoyed it but it was very messy so make sure you have plenty of napkins the service was fast & they were very friendly and welcoming next time I'll plan to sit in have a beer or two & look forward to trying their oysters

I absolutely loved my experience here. This Irish pub actually serves Irish Beers!! Yes they also make a proper Irish car bomb, they have a huge variety of traditional dishes. And traditional appetizers as well as some new fairs. I will return tomorrow. Own is very friendly, he will share with his information on different foods, and beers. There are playing on each of the tables. 8 out of 10

I had heard about this place and Moddy is not far from the Barber's Motorsports Museum where I was at the time so thought I would give it a try. Outward appearances were not fantastic. It is at the end of a strip mall anchored by a pool supply store. When we went it that all changed. You immediately thought you were in a back street pub in Ireland. There was a nicely appointed horseshoe shaped bar with table and booth seating on both sides. We sat down and were immediately greeted by the bartender/waiter. I ordered a Harp which is my favorite Irish Lager. We followed that up with a Reuben on Sourdough and a Guinness beer battered fish sandwich with fries. Everything arrived fast and was delicious with ample portions. While we were eating Irish music was playing in the background and there was a lot of things on the walls to look at and make the place feel authentic. It is the kind of place you can walk into for the first time and immediately feel at home. We well be back soon.

Locals Irish pub. We got corned beef plate and bangers and mash. Both were very good. Good flavor. The server was very overwhelmed because it was so busy but she was still sweet. They need to hire more servers for busy nights. Everyone was having a nice time. There was live music on Friday. He took requests and was very nice.

Been looking for a really good, "unique" burger for months. Passed thru Alabama and checked out Oh Sherri. Great, great pub with an amazing selection of beer. Their burger? My search is over. Incredible. I'll stop in here every time im in the area. Every single time..

There aren't enough stars available to express our gratitude to Joel and his family for working with us to host the PERFECT Wedding Rehearsal dinner. Joel's efforts and suggestions once given our wishes were spot on... The perfect food selection and service paired with live music and Irish dance made our outing THE memorable event of the weekend. The Wallace's made us all feel like we'd been invited into their home for a hoolie! Cannot recommend highly enough. Plan your Irish party there. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. We'll be back immediately upon our next arrival in the area!

Irish ambience and portrait of the owner's sister, for whom the establishment was named

As a soccer fan, I was on the road during a club World Cup qualifier and stopped in to watch the game and have a pint. The staff were so sweet, and the owner and his wife were amazing and warm. They went out of their way to help me get the game I wanted to watch on a tv and were obviously friendly with local regulars. If I lived here this would be my regular haunt. (Also they played Flogging Molly! Bonus points!)

The best place ever!!!! We had a group of 12 including kids and we came shortly after 6pm. We grabbed 2 tables in the corner. Part of the group ordered at the bar and the rest of us sat and a super nice server came over and asked us for our order. I had a bushwacker, as it was on special. My husband ordereda few beers, pizza, a panini(for me) and a soda for our daughter. The atmosphere is so fun, bar table games, tvs and great Irish decor! They have an outside patio, trivia weekly, and live bands on weekends. Try this place out, you won't regret it!

The beer was too hot. The potatoe chips they made were soggy and the sandwiches not good. The seating at the tables were too close together.

Joel made sure there was Irish music playing and although it isn't a large place there seemed to be plenty of space at the bar and tables.

We did not know there was a pub crawl for St Patty's day happening on the day of our reservation. We were the first to be seated in the restaurant since it opened at 5:00. Once we sat down we found out there was a limited dinner menu. The waitress took our drink order right away, but it took 20 minutes for the drinks to be delivered. While waiting for the drinks the waitress took our food order, took our food a good 40 minutes to be served after we ordered. The waitress told us our food was delayed because one item was burned in the oven and had to be remade. When we finally got our order one of the entrees was cold and the other was luke warm. We had ordered both entrees medium, but they were also over cooked. I understand they were busy with the pub crawl, but that should not have impacted their service as much as we experienced. What really disappointed me that the restaurant did not make us aware of the limited dinner menu and that they also were hosting a pub crawl when we made reservations. We could have made a decision to cancel the reservation before we traveled to the restaurant I hope the owners of this restaurant will plan better in the future and make their patrons aware of special circumstances affecting the menu. All I know is that I will not be returning.

Atmosphere is spot on when it comes to an Irish pub. (Last summer we were in Ireland, taking part in many a Guinness and other things in various pubs.) Our family group had burgers, shrimp and grits and a Sheppard's pie (actually a cottage pie). We also shared an appetizer of fried green tomatoes. The portions are large and almost all of us took another full meal home when all was said and done. Tasted great, we just couldn't finish it all! The location is nice too, lots to do down that strip. We ordered food and drinks which I ended up getting the bbq quesadillas and he ended up getting nachos. The nachos came with a big container of queso which was really good. My quesadilla was pretty thick which I've never had a quesadilla that huge before. It also came with chips and salsa. It's been a few years since my last visit, but back when I worked closer to downtown, this place was a weekly (sometimes twice-a-week) lunch ritual. Man, this spot is awesome for lunch! Now, if you try to come on a weekend--good luck. The place is packed to the gills, and the folks lined up outside aren't there for the turnip greens, if you catch my draft, I mean drift. They're here for the other "festivities"... the bar. But let's talk food. Whether you're circling your favorite meat and three combo or grabbing something off their regular menu, you can't go wrong. Their meat and three is like stepping straight into Granny's kitchen on a cool October Sunday afternoon. I went with the country fried steak, Caesar salad, fried okra, turnip greens, and--because I'm not a quitter--a helping of blackberry cobbler. Every bite was fantastic. My wife went with the fried catfish, paired with black-eyed peas, fried okra, and of course, the same irresistible blackberry cobbler to top it off. Her meal was every bit as delicious as mine (not that I didn't try to sneak a bite or two for quality assurance purposes). The background music today was a dose of pop, with Ingrid Michaelson's The Way I Am setting a nice, mellow vibe--pretty fitting for a lunch date with my wife. Soft and pleasant... though, if I'm being honest, I'd trade Ingrid for a little Metallica or any one of those glorious 80s hair bands in a heartbeat. Nothing says "meat and three" like a little Pour Some Sugar on Me, right? These days, a meal I used to enjoy weekly has become a rare treat, but today's visit reminded me why I loved it so much. The outdoor seating is perfect for a crisp fall or breezy spring day, TVs are plastered all around so you won't miss your favorite team (Roll Tide, of course), and there's even a pool table if you're feeling like hustling a game or two. The lunch staff is fast and friendly, and if you haven't experienced this Tuscaloosa gem, do yourself a favor and step inside for their lunch menu. Just maybe leave the late-night crowd to the younger folks--they've got more energy (and stronger eardrums) for that scene than I do!
