I got $2,200 off the MSRP and got the "good" trade-in value for my 2006 Nissan Xterra that I traded in (per Kelly Blue Book website). Remember to always check the Kelly Blue Book website on your trade-in before you try to negotiate here. That's what they use. The salesman and finance manager were not sleezy at all and I would absolutely work with them again. And they got me 2.5% on a 66-month new car loan. Thanks guys. read more

Like Frank R. who posted a review on Dec. 7, I would urge you to stay FAR away. This dealership represents everything that is awful about car purchasing, everything that consumers hate. Told us over the phone that it wouldn't be a problem to take a used car to our mechanic to look it over. Then brought someone over after the test drive to pressure us into buying it on the spot. Said we couldn't take it to our mechanic - it was either buy it on the spot or lose out, because others had expressed interest in the car. We walked away. And we won't walk back in. My wife made a appointment to have the gasket on her driver's side window replaced last Monday. Showed up for the appointment Saturday, five days later, only to find out they did not have the part needed. They had to do a temporary fix which meant leaving the care there for a while and now we have to go back next week and tie the car up once again. A courtesy phone call would have been nice so a trip and the day would not have been wasted. Throughout the past few years I have bought over 13 vehicles, all but 4 being either a WRX or STI. I purchased a WRX from Ira Subaru at the beginning or middle of May 2015 and Maria was amazing. I had a great experience trading in my previous vehicle and purchasing my next project car. Maria was patient, easy going and never did she try to push anything on me as a customer. Fred, in finance got me a lower interest rate then my bank did so I was stoked about that. Overall, I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone looking for an easy, relaxed buy without having to worry about painstaking calls after calls like most dealerships. This time around I found the customer service to be less than satisfactory, unorganized and I was treated as though I have no knowledge of cars and sales. Then again there is a reason why car salesmen have the reputations that they do. I give the service/repair shop here 5 stars because they are always very nice and efficient with service. First of all, Robin Harris (internet sales manager) did a great job by giving me all the info and making an appointment for me. I will give her personally FIVE stars! Overall buying experience was fine. However I have several points to make: 1. When I was waiting for my vehicle I was told it'll be an hour of wait, instead it was closer to four hours. I am OK with the wait (its not like I am buying cars every day) but it would be nice to have better estimation of the wait (I could leave and return. Instead I had to scramble my plans for the day). 2. While salesperson was very helpful (especially before the transaction) it took me several days (several reminders, calls and text messages) to get the copy of Carfax and maintenance reports for the vehicle. I finally got my Carfax after I left a message for the manager. I felt like I was annoying my salesperson with my questions and reminders. Buying car from a dealership was a major experience for me and it could be FANTASTIC if those small things were taken care of properly. I am not sure if I would recommend this dealership to my friends. Thank you! read more

With my Subaru being not even a year old I figured bringing the car into a Subaru dealership for small repairs would be a no brainer. I unfortunately had a screw in my tire and brought my car to this dealership hoping for the best (a patch) but expecting the worst (new tire). I made an appointment for 830 am and was in the door at 815 am. After working a long night shift I figured if I took care of it early in the morning, hopefully the service wouldn't take too long. I was told it would take about an hour for the patch so it didn't make sense for me to take the long trek back into the city. The service took 4 hours!!!! Now I'm not usually impatient but one, if I would have known it was going to take this long I would have gone home and come back and two, how could it possibly take 4 times as long as they told me for a service. I continue to sit here frustrated as other customers come and leave faster than me. Cherry on top......I was told the car would be washed after service and came out as dirty as when I came in except also smelling of gasoline and oil on the inside as well. read more

Be prepared for an $ 895 " other add "charge and a $495 document prep fee to be added to the price you thought you reached on your certified preowned car with your salesperson. These were only divulged on the final paperwork I was asked to sign. The salesperson told me the $ 895 included free car washes and door edge guards , neither of which I requested. When I tried to get some satisfaction by escalating my complaint to the General Manager, he responded , well you could have walked away" and "everybody pays those charges." I wish I had, but after shopping for a certain car for several weeks, I didn't think I would find a similar one again. So they can chalk me up as another " short-term victory" for their deceptive business practices and hollow words about wanting you to be satisfied. We recently purchased a car through IRA Subaru and had a good time working with Charles and Manny. However working with Juan, the director of finance, he authorized 6 hard pulls on my credit. I never consented to having him pull my credit so many times. Over the past 6 weeks I have attempted to work with the dealership in having these corrected with the credit Bureau but they continue to say they did nothing wrong. I have been forced to go to the credit Bureau personally to have this resolved. I would not recommend buying a car from this dealership until they figure out how to do financing without doing so many hard pulls on someone's credit. read more

Just brought my car in for its 6,000 mile check up/oil change. The tech also noticed that the car was pulling to the right and did an alignment. It was still covered under the warranty so there was no charge. That made me very happy. The car was also ready within 15 minutes of the estimated time which makes sense since they added the alignment. I was very happy with the service and with the staff. I would give zero stars if it was an option. Took my daughter in to buy her first car. They advertised a used Nissan that she was interested in. We go for a test drive, she likes the car a lot. As we return the sales guy is outside in front of us , daughter gets out and he asks her "so how do you like it?" She says she does like it and lets talk he then asks me "what dod you think?" His tone.of.voice was upbeat and even though he had a mask on you could tell he was smiling. I told him she is interested lets go sit and discuss it . Out of the blue he then tells us, "the man standing about 20 ft from us came while we were test driving (15 minutes) and BOUGHT the car!! Wtf??!! I was in complete shock, why is he asking if she liked it?? Why would they sell a car we are test driving?! His reply to me was " Here, money comes first". What kind of sh1t is that?? My poor daughter was holding back the tears, she was devastated that anyone would do such a thing while shes sitting on CASH to walk out with this car she really liked. My heart ached for her. He brings us inside saying there is another one, 1k less would she like to test drive that? He goes to get tj3e second car, comes back amd says its in the mechanic shop! Asks if he wants him to call us in a few hours to test drive. I told him no, told him they have serious issues to do what they did, and then the guy says " do you want me to call you if the other guy doesnt buy the first one!!! YOU JUST TOLD ME IT WAS PURCHASED ! Get your story straight. My husband called and asked the next day if that first car was available and he was told a sale is "pending" Im guessing the other ppl needed financing. I pray it didnt go through. Not to be spiteful to the other ppl but the sales man needs a lesson in how we treat customers.Hiw the hell do you take any agreement from someone while we are test driving it?! Truly excellent service. My wife saw a TV ad for these people, and got very good vibes. I never actually saw it, but she said it wasn't gimmecky like all the other car dealers in our area. So we decided to work with them, even though there was another Subaru dealer closer to us. We had some questions about financing one evening, so we decided to email them through the website. Robin emailed us back first thing the next morning, saying she'd be happy to help. Her message came through on the Ira electronic stationary, which at first glance I assumed was a form letter saying "someone will get back to you soon" but no, it was from an actual human being. And when I replied to this professional looking email, it went directly to her. We went in to the dealership, and asked for Robin, half expecting her to be in some remote office. But her cube was right near the door, and she came out and greeted us. Imagine that, a web presence with a real human behind it. She then was going to introduce us to Nick the sales manager but said it would be a few minutes. So I asked her if we could go check out the car (we were looking at the Forester), and she went ahead and set us up with a test drive. We loved the car, but this review is about the dealer not the car. By the time we got back, Nick was about ready to see us. We talked about the features of the car and what we were looking for. We just wanted the base automatic model, with the least expensive trim. He said Subaru doesn't make them like that, only with the alloy wheel upgrade option, which was $600 more. I wasn't thrilled about that, but it sounds like that was Subaru's fault not the dealer. We decided to put down a deposit. Alfie the super finance guy came over to talk with us about our options. This guy is really something. A talented and creative finance guru. We chose our color and left, with Alfie saying he'd be in touch about final approval. (They needed to submit a VIN on the credit application before final approval from the bank). Couple days later, Alfie called us saying we were approved, and how did we want to go about picking up the car. He said we could come and sign the papers, and wait a few hours for insurance and registration to go through, or we could come the night before and sign, and be out of there in no time the following day after registration and insurance were taken care of. Having a toddler in tow, we opted for the former. When we signed the paperwork, I was flabbergasted by the creative prowess Alfie came up with for our financing. Let's just say it ended up being a better deal than we bargained for, which included the 7 year extended warranty, for the same monthly payment. Financial wizardry I tell you. Finally Johnathan came to help us take delivery of our new vehicle. He came and gave us the tour of all its features, and answered a bunch of our questions. Very cordial individual, and I am grateful for his assistance. Overall, a stellar experience. I'm looking forward to the same experience from their service department when it comes time for our scheduled maintenance. read more

Thanks to shopping online in advance of ever test driving a vehicle, I had no problems making a purchase once I stepped across the threshold at Ira Subaru. I knew precisely the car I wanted right down to the VIN. When the salesman told me that he didn't have a car in the color I had chosen (remember, I had the VIN) but in two other colors, I thought I would play along and see what would happen. Knowing they had only ice silver and white in stock in the exact vehicle I wanted, I opted for green. When, after a 20+ minute absence, the salesman returned to report there was no green but there was an ice silver, I thought this does not bode well. However, when I get something into my head, I follow through. The next red flag was the measly trade in they were offering on my car. Yes, my old car was 10 years old with 115k miles on it but in most respects he looked spectacular. $500! My husband encouraged me to sell it privately; Kelly Blue Book gave an estimate between $1250 and $2500. When I pushed, the best they would do was $1000..."we'll just send it to auction" both Gene (salesman) and Jeff (his manager) told me. Blah blah. Whatever. Fast forward to the next day. Gene calls to find out when I'm picking up the car and remarks "for some reason they're just transferring the plates". Fine by me. Had I realized it would save me $35 (thanks for not telling me, Gene), I would just have transferred the plates. I drive to Ira after work and Gene puts the old plates on the new vehicle. Then he gives me a tutorial. Meanwhile he slips the registration in the glove box. Fine. All is peachy until I get home, pull out the registration, and am surprised to see it is not my name on the registration...not my plate number...not my car color. Yes, they had sent me home with someone else's registration. It gets better. I call Gene and tell him about their mistake, and he has the audacity to ask "how are WE going to fix this?" As for me, I had just spent $30k on a car...how about THEY fix their mistake. But I was exhausted and agreed to swing by the dealership in the morning so they could give me the correct registration and put on an inspection sticker. (Oh, I forgot that part. Although I paid them $35 for an inspection, there was no sticker on the car when I picked it up. "Just stop by and we'll slap one on, or have it done elsewhere, send us the receipt, and we'll reimburse you.") After hanging up, it occurred to me that it was ridiculous for me to have to drive to the dealership (out of my way and in violation of the law since I would have been driving without a registration!) to get the actual registration. Then my husband leaped into action. He called Gene and, between phone and text, it was determined that Gene would make the trip to Gloucester the next morning. After some wrangling the following morning (my husband reiterating that Gene should come to Gloucester), I received a phone call. Gene informed me that he would be coming to Gloucester with the correct registration and the new tags. What? New tags? Remember, Gene had told me they were just transferring my plates, and I had had to call my insurance company to inform them that "somebody" at Ira, despite my instructions, had made the decision to reuse the plates...AND NOW you are telling me you're bringing new plates!?! Again, fine...whatever. I call my insurance agent to let her know we're back to new plates. Gene arrives, puts on the new plates, gives me my old plates and my correct registration--"see, that's your name." To apologize for the mixup, he tells me my first service will be on him. Again, whatever. Let's end this thing. But no. So Gene leaves and I sit down yet again to review my registration. Yup, that's my name, my address, the new plate number...BUT WHAT IS THIS? This isn't my insurance company. Who the hell is Farmers First? They aren't my insurance company. I call my insurance agent...did Farmers First buy my insurance company? No. Absolutely not. She checks her paperwork. She had stamped it correctly. She doesn't even own a Farmers First stamp. OMG!!!! So again I call Gene. What? He'll check into it. He phones me later--"someone made a mistake here and transposed the company names". Do you think? "We'll have a runner go to the Registry and fix it. You'll have the new one tomorrow." Indeed they EMAILED me the new registration this morning. Frankly, I'm scared to look at it. The moral to this story is DO NOT SHOP AT IRA SUBARU IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY AND/OR YOU WANT YOUR NEW CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE TO BE A PLEASANT ONE. If you are a masochist, by all means, drive on over. By the way, my old car that they said would "just be shipped over to auction" is now for sale on their lot, advertised as "gently used" whereas they had characterized it as little more than a beater when telling me its value. PS They misspelled my name in their system, so all correspondence lists my name as Jopyce. The hits keep rolling. read more

Don't let them tell you they have loaner cars when your car is being worked on. That's just a lie. They don't, but they tell you they do during the buying process. If your warrantee includes general maintenance like oil changes, be prepared to wait three hours for an oil change in the lobby. If you want no customer service this is the place to shop. Sales Review: The salesman we met with was very nice and respectful of what we wanted. We never felt pressured into making any decisions or having to put any money down. We were able to test drive a WRX hatchback without any issues. Also, he drafted up an offer for the same model we looked at, at another Subaru dealership but for about $2500 less! I feel the people here are more sincere in trying to help you find a car you really like. We are still looking at other cars but if we do get a Subaru we are definitely coming back to Danvers even though we live 45 minutes away! read more

I had an amazing experience with this dealership from start to finish. It may change my whole opinion of the car purchase process! I had been doing business for years with another Subaru dealership. When it recently came time for me to get a new car my old dealership gave me their "best" price. I shopped around and ended up trying Ira for a comparative quote. Ira gave me a much better deal on the new car and a much better deal on my used car. But the money wasn't really the best part of this experience. It was Ira's staff that made the difference. They were all pleasant, not pushy, competent and helpful. They more than honored everything we had discussed in all of our conversations. From my initial contact through the whole sales process, including the generally infamous visit with the business manager to discuss the aftermarket add-ons -- everything was explained, and handled in a reasonable and friendly manner. I want to mention my salesperson John, the Sales manager Nick, the business manager Fred -- but most of all I want to single out Robin Harris (internet sales manager) who was my first contact and who then shepherded me through the entire process even though it wasn't really her responsibility to do so. I know I sound like I must have "swallowed the cool-aid", but I really feel like I not only bought a new car -- I made some friends along the way as well! read more

My experience with Ira Subaru was a very pleasant one. It was probably the best experience I have had when it comes to buying a car. The process was very smooth and all in all it took about 20 mins to go over and agree on the numbers. My sales guy, John Townsend and his manager Nick? were amazing. John went above and beyond to make sure I am satisfied. The car I purchased was not in stock. I felt sorry as I called John every single day to check on the car. He always kept me in the loop and as soon as the car came, he gave me a call. After the purchase, John went over all the features in the car helped with the transition of the plates and insurance. The Business manager was also great. He explained everything and I felt as I wasn't pushed to buy any extra warranties. All in all, my experience is great. John Townsend and the rest of the Ira Subaru team did very well. Ira Subaru has a life long customer and I will definitely come back here again for my wife's car. My advice to any buyers: Do your research first. If you have a trade-in, know exactly how much your car is worth. Know what kind of car you are looking for and how much it costs. Wow, I wish that I had read all of these horrible reviews (or good reviews of a horrible place) before I took the 45 minute drive from Boston to see a car that I had been assured the day before was still available. I got there soon after they opened on Sunday, only to find out that the car had been sold "the night before". Just like so many of the bad reviews below. Clearly a bunch of BS. The salesman was Christopher Welch. If I were you I would not believe a word that comes out of his mouth. When I asked him why he didn't contact me to tell me the car had been sold so I wouldn't go all the way up there (we had had MULTIPLE emails about when I was going to get there on Sunday), he said that he had emailed me this morning. I checked my emails and in fact there WAS an email from him, telling me that I had missed my appointment (they open at 12 on Sunday, I had an appointment on Sunday, and he sent it at 12:06!! Six minutes after they opened. And there was absolutely no mention of the car having been sold. Really horrible dealership! And I WORK at a dealership., so I have a lot to compare to. I will NEVER deal with them again and I'd advise you not to either. Or at least read the reviews of the Sales Department and then shame on you if they screw you, which they undoubtedly will. read more

This is for the used car sales dept. If it could be zero stars that would be more accurate. I came in from boston to see a 2010 toyota venza v6. When i arrived, Jean helped me and came on a test drive with me. Loved the car, but during the test drive i noticed that the heat wasn't working properly. I told Jean i wanted the car, but the heat would need to be fixed first. He aggreed, we went over finances and came to a deal. I signed the sales agreement and was told that the heat would be fixed asap. I was pressured by Jean and a finance guy to place a 500$ deposit down to ensure that they wouldn't sell the car to someone else. I did not that first day because it didnt make sense to me to put a deposit down on the car until i knew it was 100% in working order. I went with my gut that first day and should've stuck with it the whole way. A few days later i came back up from boston to drop off some pay stubs for the finance dept and when i arrived Jean told me the venza had its entire heating sysytem replaced and that all they were waiting on was approval from a bank. Once he said that, i foolishly took him at his word and put a 500$ deposit down. Days go by and i hear nothing from him. I finally get in contact with him for him to tell me the heat is messed up again and wont be ready until after christmas. I then ask Jean to let me knw what parts failed on the venza and what work was beimg done... no response. I call back again today to finally find out from Jean that there is an issue with the heat again and they're sending it to toyota to have a specialist look at it... ira toyota is next door. I dont think the heat was ever fixed in the first place and jean was just stalling and buying time for whatever repairs needed to be done. Problem is... i need a car now, not later. They should've been honest from jump and let me know they were letting me test drive a vehicle they haven't inspected properly. On top of that, now i have to wait a few days to even get my deposit refunded. Jean claimed he himself took that venza vehicle on a trade-in so i'm pretty sure he knew about the heat issue and still pressured me to put a deposit down on a car that wasnt ready for sale... This review is re: sales (I have never used their auto repair services). While no one enjoys purchasing a car Ira Subaru pushes the envelope on making it as unpleasant as possible. My husband and I arrived with our twin 10 month olds in tow and spent an endless 5 hours here in order to purchase a new Outback. Every step took forever (getting the car to test drive, getting the paperwork to sign, going in the little room with the shady guy who tries to sell you useless and expensive add-ons, etc). I don't expect priority because I have small children with me but there was zero hustle. Our sales person Maria talked endlessly and even brought a car to test drive that needed gas (I so did not have the time or patience to stop for gas but we did!). To make matters worse, while setting up the financing, we were repeatedly assured we would be getting a 0% APR (we both have credit in the 800s) all the while not realizing we'd gotten the old bait-and-switch. We foolishly signed the financing paperwork without noticing the 4.34% APR we'd "qualified" for. We just wanted to get out of there. But, alas, our time at Ira wasn't up. Now all four of us piled into a tiny office to spend another hour telling the business guy Matt that we didn't want a warrantee. I know his job is to not take no for an answer but our kids were crying, exhausted, just needed to go home and he kept at it. We finally agreed to some stain resister, again just to get out of there. When I went to pick up the car our sales woman and her manager sat me down and told me exactly how they wanted me to fill out the customer service survey we'd be receiving ("you need to put down all 10s"). Shady shady shady. And when we realized the "mistake" with our APR she was absolutely no help ("I don't deal with the financing"). I emailed their business office and received no reply after a week. I didn't even demand the 0% we were promised, only an explanation as to how and why we didn't qualify for it. So now we are out an extra $1600 unless we pay off the car right away and no one at Ira Subaru is interested in making it right or even hearing us out. If we ever need another car I will most certainly avoid any Ira dealership. I would suggest you do the same. And if you are looking for a Subaru, do like I should have done and see Perry at Wakefield Subaru. read more

This review is specifically for my salesperson, Manny Figueroa as I haven't had a chance to try out the service department yet. Manny was simply outstanding, start to finish. No hassle, no stress, no BS. Told him I wanted two prices, one for the new car, one for my trade. He didn't attempt to "roll it all into one deal" which can obfuscate the terms of the deal such that they're almost impossible to sort out. Since I already knew from researching what a fair price was for both items, when Manny came back with the info the numbers were well within the parameters I'd set. So no haggling. No low ball offer on my trade. He then walked over the detailed pricing, including the options I wanted to add, dealer charges, etc. Again, easy to understand, no stress. IMO, a person must do their homework before going to the dealership. Some salespeople hate dealing with an informed consumer, Manny respects it. Made the entire process as pleasant as possible. Really can't say enough good about this guy. Would recommend without hesitation. read more

Probably the worst dealership experience I've had. Came in to look at a 2020 WRX, and was greeted by the salesman outside as I was looking at the car. Everything started off great, and he was very kind. Things started to change when he started talking about the particular model of WRX and started explaining to me that this "model had options that models didn't usually come with." Which from previous subaru ownership and knowledge of the WRX/STi lineup, I knew was incorrect, and was an attempt to upsell me on standard features. I was able to test drive the car, and that went fine. When we got back to the dealership and got back inside it was almost immediately "you going to buy the car tonight? If I give you a good deal." Which I told him, possibly if I'm comfortable with the numbers. He comes back with the offer on my trade, which was significantly below blue book, then starts listing off everything they thought was wrong with my trade and how they won't even bother trying to fix it up, it's going to just be sold wholesale. Which is great, you can do what you want as a dealer once the trade is in your hands, however I don't enjoy being lowballed beyond belief and that they felt my vehicle was worthless. The offer was literally 3 grand under what even an instant trade in value was for my trade in its condition/mileage. Then when I brought up the price that was listed on the website of the particular model I was looking at it, he said he couldn't give me the Ira best price because it was either up my trade in value and basically pay sticker for the car or keep the lowball trade in offer and they would try to take a few dollars off the price "but no promises and it probably wont happen." I couldn't have both. I was basically given an ultimatum like; pick one or go home. Then I told him that didn't make sense, and that I was not happy with either option, and that I wanted to see if he could get me their best numbers on both, and he kept insisting either or. Which is literally the first time I've ever had a dealership tell me something like that, and I've been to quite a few to say the least in my lifetime. Then when I said I was not comfortable with the deal being presented and the ultimatum, the salesman started the typical bullying tactics. I was hit with "well you're just going to take our best number and go to another dealership, I'm calling your bluff," also "well we closed at 6 and its after 6 now, we're staying here to make a deal with you and you want to waste my sales managers time with unrealistic deals." When I heard that line, that's when I demanded my keys back to my vehicle, and told them I will not be doing business with them, and walked out. All set with the disrespect and "take this deal or else" mentality and trying to literally disrespect me into buying a car. Had the most unprofessional experience this week. My car was recalled so set up an appt. to have it serviced.Cleared my whole schedule only to get a call that day that they close and it takes 3 hours.After they fixed recall tell me a slew of problems with it. I ask if my ridiculous $1600 warranty will cover it. Well it expired saying it was 7 years from original car not 7 years from when we purchased it. Just like when hit a pothole had to buy 4 new tires and an alignment cause they don't make those tires anymore and the warranty would only cover one tire.Also qouted double the price of other tire stores.The service dept.was so buried had to keep calling me back and clearly did not know how to handle any of my issues.please save your money and a lot of aggravation and stay far away from this place. read more

Terrible customer service. With so many options, I'd urge you to look elsewhere and not take the chance. I wont go on and on about my experience - but in summary, I brought my car in for service, they changed the wrong part (~$500). I asked for a refund and was told that their senior technician went through my car and was positive that was the problem. I brought my car to another Subaru dealership and they confirmed that the noise I had been complaining about was coming from my front right axle (~$750). Ira Subaru still wouldn't help / refund anything. Finally, I called Subaru corporate. They did an investigation and sent me a $500 certificate for parts/service (GO SUBARU CORPORATE, way to take care of your customers!!!) I'm not an unreasonable person. I manage a company of more than 400 employees and when we don't deliver as promised, we always make it right. There are so many dealerships around, I'd look for someone who has a higher rating and not take the chance. read more

DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR HERE. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU BY ANY MEANS. My boyfriend bought a pre owned certified vehicle and they have not only completely ignored him but have made his car worse in the shop. The general sales manager is a complete jerk, and the sales woman kept complaining about how she has a family to feed etc. then why are you in sales? So unprofessional. They saw a young kid try to buy a vehicle and they tried to screw him with the service. Luckily I work for a car dealership and will tell absolutely everyone and anyone to NEVER go to Ira Subaru as they are sleazy and unprofessional. Not to mention they forgot to put batteries in the car battery and the buttons are starting to fall off. Thanks so much Ira. Also, seeing as my boyfriend had GREAT credit - they advised him that he should "have a family member" help make his decision. When he was capable to do it on his own. This dealership wrote the invoice for a person who is not the owner of my car (I am the sole owner and always have been). They had a different persons name and address who lives out of state. I have called, emailed, and been by in person to get it fixed to no avail. They do not return calls or emails. It is a privacy issue with sensitive information. apparently they search a database of phone numbers without your consent and pick a random person who used to have your phone And then email and mail them everything. It should be simple enough to fix but they are not concerned about my safety or privacy. read more

We showed up at 12pm Knowing EXACTLY what we wanted and how much we wanted to pay via online quote. Took until 6:30 PM to complete the sale. Upon pickup the vehicle delivered had a dead battery and the "tech" who fixed it jumped it backwards and shorted out the electrical system. Slowest service department ever. I book at 730am appt - oil chg and tire rotation, I'm told the technicians get in at 8am. What the hell is the point of having a 730 appt then? When I book for 7:30 I'm thinking my car is going on to be serviced AT 7:30. 2 hours later it's done and washed. 2 hours? Unreal. read more

The salesman we worked with was very knowledgable and helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. Unfortunately though, the dealership tags on an extra $600 "vehicle prep fee" that they refuse to waive or lower. Their doc fee is $500 which is $100-$150 higher than other dealers charge. They price their used cars 1K less than their competitors to lure you into the store and then hit you with fees that end up bringing the price back up. Obviously you will have to pay tax and RMV fees (usually around 1K) but the doc fee and vehicle prep fee add another $700 to what other dealers would charge. Save yourself the time and go to Subaru of Wakefield where they are more upfront about their price. read more

1. Sales techs don't even acknowledge you when you enter their room. 2. Didn't call the right number to say service would not be done until 6 pm after their 5:30 closing hours. They called my old home phone number from 5 years ago - must have been entered by Toyota IRA. She just did not call the given contact number. 3. We finally got a call at 5 pm to say my car wouldn't be done until 6 at that time we were pulling up to their door. 4. We dropped the car off at 9 am and no work was done. We had asked for an inspection sticker as well and now we have just two business days to get it elsewhere. 5. They said they didn't do the work as there were more serious cases to be taken care of. Are they overbooking like the airlines? 6. As an aside, another customer entering just after me and wasn't called either. She had left three young children with a family member to come and pick up her car. She went home with a loaner for the night but she has to come back again!!!! 7. I will say that the manager tried to get my car back to me asap after I arrived and had to listen to my obvious displease. He is working with idiots. 8. I will give them one more try and if there is not friendly service or they don't do the work, I am going the extra mile to Wakefield Subaru . One final note - I have a Toyota that is service by IRA Toyota next store and I have never had a serious problem. Go figure? read more

What is your perspective on the 3 different Sales associates calling and Emailing me so as to see the car they had ready for me only to make an appointment, show up and be told it's in Maine? What is your perspective on being told approximately $285/month only to be told $320/month? What is your perspective on the finance manager telling me I had to get an "add on" or he would have to resubmit and my interest rate would go up? Yeah your perspective is WAY off. "The deal was originally agreed to on February 12th on a 2017 Hyundai Accent." Not even close. On the 12th as I already stated I had an appointment was told the car was there and it wasn't. We discussed numbers/estimates per my request so I had an idea of cost before going back to finally see the car I was told was there and it wasn't. I went home and immediately began filling out an online credit app. before sending it in. While doing so a 4th salesman called asking me "when I wanted to come see the car" The credit app which was sent Saturday the 12th did not even get sent for approval (after multiple phone calls to the sales) until Wednesday morning 4 days later. " We held the vehicle in good faith due to your request" AGAIN not true. You didn't have the car. you didn't have the car ready until Wednesday. "On February 17th, you came to sign and complete all the paperwork for this transaction at which time you decided to cancel?" NOPE I made an appointment with the salesman for Thursday Morning so I could finally see the car. still not knowing the exact numbers I went into sit with the finance manger who had everything written up. I get the high pressure sales attempt which failed and angered you. Finally i get the numbers and said I'd be back or call. I spoke to finance that night (Thursday the 17th) and told him I would not be purchasing the vehicle. I also sent the salesman an Email. I left messages and Emails for the next two days. Took Sunday off. More phone calls Monday and Tuesday before as you said speaking to you Wednesday morning after waiting on hold for 5 minutes and answering with a snicker when I said my name. After asking me for the credit card information which I had already Emailed to the salesman the $500 was put on my card Thursday morning. read more

I do not recommend anyone visiting Ira Subaru of Danvers. Throughout January 2019 - March 2019 I was in search of buying my first car. I ended up at Ira Subaru because they had recently acquired a used Honda vehicle I was very much interested in. My mother and I went down to the dealer one week night and spent almost two hours there. I made an offer on the car a few days later and it was accepted. My experience went downhill from there. In the process of purchasing this vehicle, I had to return to this dealership a total of seven times. SEVEN TIMES. One of those seven times was my mother and I completely wasting two hours of our time on a Saturday afternoon. Josh, the service or sales manager, told us to come down and sign the P&S agreement and the title. Nearly TWO HOURS later, we were informed, the dealership did not even have the title and they made a mistake on when the title would be delivered to them. We then had to go back on another week night to meet with the Finance Manager, Juan, and once again, waited nearly an hour and a half for him. I have read many reviews on this dealership on and many people have complained about waiting in this place for hours. The poor time management at this dealership is unacceptable. A customer's time is just as valuable as the dealer's time. After finally handing the dealership my loan check and personal check, they had hold of it for 24 hours and I still did not have my car. Finally the car was ready for pick up, and I explained to my car sales person, Maria, that I would need someone to walk me through the car and explain which buttons are which and how everything works (which is VERY common for customers to ask for). Her response was "There is a manual you can read. I don't know much about Honda's." WOW. I just spent over $25k on my first car ever and I have to go home and read the manual and figure everything out myself? When I got to the dealer to pick up the car, apparently Josh, the SERVICE/SALES MANAGER, was the only one who knew who to operate Honda's, but he was busy at the time and they told me I would have to come back to the dealer for ANOTHER time for a walk-through of my newly purchased vehicle. My mother and I said something to Roscoe, the GM, about someone helping me with the car and his response was, "Well, it's pretty self explanatory". Again WOW. What do I have to do to receive some assistance on how to operate my new vehicle? My previous vehicle was a 2004 Nissan, and the only features it had were 4 wheel drive and a radio. Cars these days have completely changed and I knew nothing about them. It is NOT self explanatory to me. LUCKILY, a very nice salesman, Brendan or Brandon, offered to help me with the car and show me everything, and he did an EXCELLENT job. He was kind enough to show me how to operate everything, and I would not have been able to figure most of those things by reading a manual. Before I left the lot, I checked the car for marks/scratches. Maria told me before that the she checked the car and there was no damage to it. Well, good thing I checked the car because there multiple marks on it, that could have easily been addressed before pick up. I understand that I did not buy a brand new car, but that is not the point here, this is a NEW car to me and I did pay for this car, it was not free. I was TOLD that the car had no marks on it, and there were marks. Roscoe told me to visit the dealer again (7th visit) and they can take care of the marks. I returned about 2 weeks later, waiting on my lunch break for one hour. The marks were gone. But, this past weekend I noticed marks on the car AGAIN, that were an off-white color. These marks were near the area where the previous scratch was addressed at the Subaru dealer. I park my car in a garage, I do not drive it every day and when I do drive it, I park FAR AWAY from other cars. I brought it to the Honda dealer in Reading. They buffed out the marks in 5 minutes and they gave me no problem at all !! It was so nice to NOT hear them say, "Well this isn't a new car, so expect some scratches...". I was told by employee's at Subaru multiple times to "Make sure to go online and write us a good review". I now understand why they do that, because they get so many bad reviews on Yelp. Save yourself the TIME and aggravation and please shop somewhere else. read more
