My daughter, friend and I were in the mood for Hot Pot. We had heard good things about this place so decided to stop by on a Sunday afternoon. It was busy surprisingly. We were greeted and seated right away. The place looked clean and organized. It was a little cold though. We each ordered different broths which were all flavorful. They had a sauce bar and the hot pot items are ordered from an app. Each person in your party scans the QR menu and then add items. Everything was fresh. I loved the sauce bar. We didn't get to try the Korean BBQ but will the next time.

I LOVE IPOT. This is a hotpot+KBBQ spot in the sunset district that is a tried and true classic. All you can eat for 38$ (plus tax) plus dessert included. Their meat quality is good and so are their hot pot ingredients. We got pork bone broth and the curry based soup and we went ham. Not much needs to be said. They have everything you could ever need

Watched superbowl here. Pretty good hotpot + grill ayce place in sunset district. This one does the grill right, like their grill which seems to be ceramic or titanium that doesn't stick and burn easily. Marinate and thickness are about right. For hotpot variety is pretty good, standout is the large selection of soup varieties (but doesn't seem to have strong flavor, rather mild). Meat is fine though not much standout. Desert there is mochi ice cream. They biang biang hand pulled noodles are fun and good texture, though it is very hard to find very good biang biang noodles. Korean short ribs wasn't enough done, still had some rare bits. A lot of things to try though not top notch, but who is.

The dirty plate they served me

I don't understand how this place is ranked so highly. When we got started, I noticed that 2 of the 4 plates were dirty. The sauce bar looked very unclean, and some ingredients seemed to have gone bad. We ordered several items that we never received, even after politely reminding the servers. The food quality was mediocre--I ordered the steamed pork buns, and they came out cold in the middle. The broth was extremely diluted, so you're essentially cooking in plain water. That said, the servers were very kind, but the restaurant's system is clearly not working. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it.

We came here at night on Wednesday, and here's my experience: 1. Ambiance (4/5) The restaurant had a casual vibe and was quite busy when we arrived. It was clean and had plenty of seating. 2. Service (5/5) The service was excellent. We got a table for five quickly because we had already joined the waitlist on Yelp. All the staff were friendly and super attentive. Great service here! :) 3. Food (4/5) - Hot Pot (5/5):We ordered the Tom Yum and Miso hot pots. The broth was delicious and had an authentic, rich flavor. The meat was tender and fresh, and the vegetables were good too. I truly recommend the hot pot here! - BBQ (3/5): Personally, I didn't like the way the meat was seasoned. I prefer it unseasoned so you can taste the freshness of the meat. I also wish they had more variety in the meat options, lettuce, and vegetables. - Appetizer: It was okay, but our grilled ribs were super chewy :( - Drinks & Dessert (2/5): The drinks and desserts were way too sweet for us -- the boba tea, ice cream, and jelly.:( Overall: I definitely recommend the hot pot -- it was hella good! The servers were very nice and helpful. One downside was that the drinks and desserts were really sweet for us. Next time, I'd try a different broth!

We came here for my friends birthday. They charge you around 37 per person and it's all you can eat. Everything was good but the kitchen closed midway and they told us that the kitchen was closing and it stressed us out a bit which shifted the vibe. Other than that the staff are so nice and the food is yummy. The watermelon drink was so good and the boba was good

Didn't even get to eat here due to the wait time for people with reservations We had a 7:00 pm reservation on Saturday (booked through Resy). The app showed plenty of availability, so we expected things to run on time. When we arrived, it was difficult to even check in, there didn't seem to be a dedicated host, and the person handling check-ins was also waiting tables. When we finally got to check in, we were told there would be a 15-20 minute wait. After 10 minutes, we checked again and got the same answer. We also noticed that tables seated at 7:00 were still waiting for their server 20 minutes later with no food. By 7:35, we were told our table was "almost ready," but we had other plans at 9:00 and decided to leave. Can't comment on the food or the ambiance, but the service and organization really need work. It seems like they're overbooking reservations, which is frustrating for guests who plan ahead. I can totally understand a 10-15 min hold up but 30+ min is a bit much.

Where AYCE Meets WagyuIf you thought "all-you-can-eat" meant sacrificing quality, let me introduce you to the elevated hot pot experience we recently enjoyed in San Francisco. This spot isn't just about volume; it's about delivering genuinely premium ingredients in a limitless format. The true stars of the evening were the proteins. For an AYCE establishment, the selection was remarkably high-end. The Wagyu was an absolute standout--thinly sliced with beautiful marbling, it cooked in mere seconds and melted on the tongue like butter. This alone makes the price point worthwhile. Similarly, the Ribeye cuts were rich, tender, and robust, providing a deeply satisfying counterpoint to the delicate Wagyu. We managed to go through several plates of both, ensuring we fully maximized the premium offerings.Beyond the luxurious meats, the experience was completed by the abundance of fresh assorted vegetables. The selection was comprehensive, featuring everything from delicate enoki and king oyster mushrooms to crisp Napa cabbage, tofu, and vibrant greens. This variety allowed us to craft balanced bowls with great texture and flavor complexity in our chosen broth (we opted for the pork bone broth). The service was swift, constantly ensuring our tables were clear and our plates of premium meats kept coming without delay--a critical factor for a smooth AYCE operation. For anyone looking to indulge in high-quality meats, especially a Wagyu fix, without the pressure of a la carte pricing, this restaurant is a non-negotiable must-visit in San Francisco. It perfectly balances fantastic value with exceptional flavor.

Hotpot and KBBQ on one table

Great experience at this place! Upon getting seated, we scanned the QR code to look at what's available (it's the same price for whether you eat both KBBQ and hotpot or only one type) to order everything and within minutes the food started coming out. Servers were great at handling our large orders of meat and sides, changing out our grill once it got too burnt, and also refilling our water cups. Sauce bar also had side dishes like fruit and kimchi / seaweed salad. We asked them to do something special for our friend whose birthday we were celebrating, so they played the Happy birthday song and also gave a discount on our bill! If you plan on coming with a large party, you can also sign up for their free membership with a phone number and get 5% cash back and reward points for future visits

Tomato Soup Base and Winter Melon Pork Bone Soup Base
Benny L.

Went on a Wednesday night for AYCE hot pot. Since it's getting late, there were only around 5 occupied tables. We ordered 2 rounds and each time the dishes came out promptly. We had the tomato soup base and the winter melon pork bone soup base and both were good. The wagyu beef was fresh and soft. There was also a great variety, from mushrooms, tofu, sweet potatoes and assorted vegetables to mussels, noodles, and pork, to choose from. They also had great already-cooked dishes and desserts. I especially like the fried buns and pumpkin parrake. I thought the price of under $38/person for the AYCE was decent and reasonable. The price covered all food except drinks. A shout out to the young waiter with brown curly hair. With a big smile, he was very friendly, attentive, and helpful.

Do they have a Vegetarian soup?

They have Miso, tomato, mushroom, kim chi and curry base soup. But you will need to call and ask if there was any meat used to make the broth first to be certain

Is the restaurant allowed to bring own alcohol since they don't have AYCD?

This is a really dumb question.

Is it AYCE beverage? (Soft drinks and alcohol)?

No, I recently went here and each of the soft drinks were charged individually.

Are there any vegetarian soup bases?

yes, miso and spicy miso

Pls update what COVID-19 precautions you currently take: vaccination proof required? space out tables and booths? Please update pricing: What's the current price for AYCE hot…

They checked our vaccination cards against our IDs

I was wondering if anyone knew what peanut sauce they have? It was so good. I wanna buy some.

Do they have Gluten free broths and sauces?

Are they still open for dine in?

Yes! I was here two nights ago and people were spaced apart by one booth. There's also outdoor dining, about 2-3 tables.

Any update on your reopening?

They just recently opened for dine in. Reservations highly suggested since there is a limit on how many customers they are taking in. They are doing temperature checks and you must hand sanitize before seating. They give you plastic utensils and…

Are they open for dine in?

Just recently open! Check out the first question that I answered!

Are they open during shelter in place for take out? What's the menu like?

Do they have individual pots or one shared pot?

They have both! They also have individual pots that is half a hot pot and half bbq hot plate.

How many people per group? I have never tried this place before and I don't know how big this place is. I plan to bring many people here this Saturday.

You can have as many or as little people in your group. People have come here by themselves before. You can ask for an individual pot. It's just right for one person. I usually come here with just my boyfriend. There's no minimum people for eating…

If I get there at 11PM will they kick me out when it hits 12AM?

No. My boyfriend and I both went there very late before and stayed past closing time. We were also not the last ones to leave. I would however, suggest going earlier though and also make reservations since this place does get pretty busy! Good…

Is parking available?

Street parking, good luck !!

Would it get discount if my birthday is at that day?

I inquired about this....was told they don't provide discounts for birthdays.

Do they have children's pricing?

Yes, they do. Kids 10 years and under are half price

Do they have soju?

No, they only have beer, wine and sake.

Are there vegan soup broths available?

Yes, they have a vegan broth. They offer a huge variety of vegan options. My son who is vegan really enjoyed it when we were there in January.

Do they still offer a 5% discount if you are paying in cash?

Went for dinner tonight and they no longer do this. If you pay cash, you get free drinks instead

The owner is charismatic and I love to chat with her every time I come. The wagyu was nicely marbled even for basic tier all-you-can-eat. It honestly felt like we were ordering with a friend who just happens to know the entire menu inside and out. She gave amazing recommendations and even told us she makes the hot sauce from scratch (which... you can taste the difference). That level of care really set the tone for the whole night. Now the food... not a single miss. Seriously, not one thing we didn't like. We went with the Ultra menu ($108), which includes lobster, and it was 100% worth it. For broths, we chose the Tom Yum and Tonkotsu. Both were rich, flavorful, and perfect in completely different ways. The meat selection was incredible, especially the wagyu options, they literally melt in your mouth. You can tell the quality is top tier. The flame-torched wagyu nigiri was absolutely out of this world--perfectly balanced and paired with a wasabi powder that elevated every bite. We also had the hamachi cloud, which was so fresh, flavorful, and had the perfect crunch--such a standout dish. And the spicy clams? Easily one of our favorites. Super fresh, super tasty, and packed with flavor. Beyond the food, the entire staff made us feel genuinely welcomed, which made the experience even better. The location is perfect. It's right in the center of Japantown. Inside they have a bar where you can sit and talk with the servers face-to-face. And it's a great spot to people watch while you eat. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. Between the incredible quality, the variety, and the next-level service. This is a spot I'll be coming back to again and again (and yes, I'll absolutely be asking for Irene).

Food: 4/5 We got the all you can for $39.99 that includes the soup base, unlimited meats, some appetizers, veggie bar, and sauce bar. The meat selections were really limited and everything that came out was just the same cut of lamb and beef in different plates. Many of their items were on the menu but not offered on their ordering iPad. The quality of meats was pretty good and I did like their hotpot flavors. The wheel of meat was gimmicky, but good for pictures. Service: 4/5 This place was pretty slow in their service. It took us about 15 minutes before our soups came out and another twenty for the meats to come. Our server explained that they were short staffed so we gave them some grace for their slow service. Ambiance: 2/5 The reason why I ranked this place so poorly was because of their health code violations. There were multiple dogs in the restaurants. They were leashed and clearly not service animals. One of the dogs was long haired and I was afraid they would be shedding everywhere. Overall, I would not recommend this place. As someone who grew up in the San Gabriel Valley, it is not easy to mess up hotpot, but I am afraid because of the dogs on this premise with the open veggie and sauce bar that I will never be back here.

On my previous visit, we would check off what we wanted on a menu, hand it to the server, and everything would be brought to the table. They also had sides set out along with a guide showing different ways to make your own dipping sauces. Now, meats are ordered through an iPad, while noodles, vegetables, mushrooms, meatballs, dumplings, eggs, quail eggs, tofu, and other hot pot items are self-serve. I'm a little torn about the changes. The self-serve setup is convenient because you can grab what you want whenever you're ready, but I preferred some of what they offered before. I remember the meatballs being fresher, and they used to have actual shrimp, whereas the shrimp option now is more of a shrimp paste. The soup bases were still just as delicious as I remembered. We chose the Sichuan spicy at medium spice and the tonkotsu. The Sichuan was flavorful with a heat that builds as you eat--medium was already plenty spicy for us and will definitely open up your sinuses! The tonkotsu was creamy, savory, and comforting. I actually prefer the tonkotsu over the chicken soup base they used to have, and having both gave us a nice balance between spicy and mild. We were also really looking forward to the lamb, but unfortunately they had already run out by around 9 PM. Hopefully coming a little earlier next time will solve that! The staff were really nice and seemed to be doing their best despite how busy they were. Our meats arrived before our soup bases, but they apologized for the delay, which we appreciated. We noticed the staff doing a little bit of everything--serving tables, bussing, and helping at the front with hosting--so there were times when it was difficult to find someone if we had a question. Whenever we did get someone's attention, though, they were friendly and helpful. People were still coming in during the last couple of hours, so the staff definitely had their hands full. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. Hotpot Champ is different from what I remembered, and while there are a few things I preferred about the old setup, I can also appreciate the convenience of the new one. Most importantly, the soup bases are still delicious, and the tonkotsu was a welcome change. We'd come back again--hopefully a little earlier next time so we can get our lamb!

This place covers many of the basics (rolls, ramen, tempura, yakisoba, teriyaki, unagi). I really only see it as a jack of all trades, but a master of none. It doesn't mean that this restaurant has no place in Japantown, but it doesn't inspire confidence when it's located in an isolated region of the mall with less foot traffic, while its competition on the other wing has lines longer than the location's capacity. Black Garlic Ramen: It's always a mystery to me how black garlic improves a bowl of ramen. My expectations, however, remain the same. How thick is the broth? How clean is the broth when consumed? What is the quality of the chashu? Do I get enough noodles? I think the best part of this meal was the amount of soup they give, and the chashu was very good. It sucks that the chashu is tiny, but they did very well. I feel that the noodles were those wholesale ramen noodles that were portioned, and the garnish was fine. The broth was okay, 3.5-ish stars in terms of taste. Dynamite Roll and Volcano Roll: I think it's a problem if I have trouble identifying which is which. I can tell you that both are good enough to try, and the Volcano Roll comes with raw fish. Both come with a good crunch and a good sauce, but like most Japanese places that lean heavily into the rolls, good luck finding out what you ordered and what you just ate. Ambiance: Very classic Japanese. They're really at their best to convince you that you're in Japan. It may get tight during a busy day though. Service: Standard. American Kobe Beef (8oz) $19.79 Kobe beef was soft and chewy too. Beef Tripe $6.92 Love the beef tripe. Duck Blood $10.88 Duck blood at DNM Hot Pot was good. Soft and tasty. Frozen Tofu $5.93 My husband loves frozen tofu in the hot pot. Tong Hao $5.93 Napa Cabbage $5.93 Both vegetables were fresh and tasty.
