    Lamb leg

We traveled 45 minutes to try this restaurant. From the reservation you'd think this restaurant is extremely popular but it's not. They kept on reminding you that they keep your table for 10 minutes only but when you arrive there are only 2 other tables. The restaurant is trying to be a Mongolian hot pot with the decoration but honestly it's a Sichuan hot pot place. Everyone working there is from Sichuan and the flavor is Sichuan style except that the spicy soup base is not very spicy. They however do they grilled lamb leg and ribs. The ribs are pretty good. As for the hotpot there aren't a lot of choices when especially seafood and there is really only two choices of lamb. They also don't give a lot of pieces for the price. The one thing that set them apart is the lamb spine (Chinese call them lamb scorpion) which is popular in many Northern Chinese restaurants (Bejing). They are more fresh here than some other restaurants that sell them here in the Bay Area. So here is my suggestion, if you want the lamb spine or even the lamb ribs you can come here. If you want hot pot there are so many other choices. Service is alright except they didn't inform us of the price increase (10%) until when we pay and that's actually against the law. Price is high for what you get and there is a lack of choices for hot pot ingredients.

It was my first time at a hot pot place that had chimichurri as part of the dipping sauce and it was SOOO good, I really enjoyed it. We ordered tomato soup based for the first time and was surprised how good it was, kept drinking the soup until my stomach was full lol Services was great! Very friendly. I like that the place feels like eating at home, which is uncommon at a hotpot place. It was clean and spacious. Definitely a nice way to end the night if you are looking for a soupy dish.

Really delicious hotpot spot in Inner Richmond! It's at the end of Clement st, a bit a aways from the busy part of Clement st. It can be easy to miss but for sure I must try! Not only was the hotpot delicious and a fair price, the staff were also super nice. I had the classic spicy broth and it was great. The add on plates are pretty large too. I was expecting smaller plates, so we ended up ordering way too much food. All the ingredients seemed fresh and good quality. Our total, for 2 people, ended up being around $100 but we could've left out a few plates. Overall, the price is fair and the food was delicious. Really enjoyed everything!

Ever since Happy Lamb closed downtown, i've been on a mission to find the best hot pot. After trying a few places, i am so happy we took a chance and tried this hidden gem. I now cannot stop raving about the quality of the food here ! and the service was wonderful - the experience felt warm, as if being welcomed into someone's home. Ordered the spicy lamb bone spine broth (which has lots of meat in it!) and mushroom broth . Definitely good to balance the spicy with a savoury and veggie based. So many pieces of lamb with meat on the bone...tender and perfectly cooked. The quality of the meats were also excellent (beef and lamb) sooooo flavourful, great price. For anyone who is a nerd of hot pots, you will not be disappointed. will be coming here regularly!

This feels like a nice neighborhood joint for hot pot. The staff was nice enough to explain the menu and how to order on the app. Love the decor! The place was so clean too. We got the classic spicy and the tomato broth, then started going ham on the hot pot items. Definitely get some lamb, they seem to specialize in it. The classic spicy was some of the best hot pot broth I've had! So many peppercorns in it, which have an awesome tingly cooling effect. The sauce bar was a little lacking for the extra price, but I appreciated all the pickled garlic. I probably ate 3 cups of it!

Friendly hostess helped us pick the dishes. They were delicious. The ambience was very good with just the right kind of lighting. They also have a very clean restroom.

Rich, flavorful, and reasonably priced Mongolian hot pot. The lamb broth was delicious, and there's a wide array of sauces and spices for everyone to choose their own additions. Nice space (including a giant mural) and people too. Fun setting for family and groups.

We were in the neighborhood and stumbled upon DNM Hot Pot. Inside the restaurant was very spacious and the service was quite fast. Never had Mongolian hotpot before so was very stoked to try. Opted for half special spicy lamb and half mushroom and that was the perfect combo! Would definitely come back for more!

After almost a two years (?) hiatus, DNM is back! DNM stands for The Greater Inner Mongolia. Their classic broth is one of our favorites. On this visit, we got the classic broth and a tomato broth along with alot of the hotpot goodness. This hotpot place is not an AYCE. But we still love it because their hotpot is so good! Especially love their make your own sauce station where you can build your ultimate dipping sauce! I also love that they have the tong hau (chrysanthemum greens) which some may find a bit strong in flavor but for some reason, I love it, especially with their classic broth. Minus a star because some of the thin slices of beef on this recent visit doesn't seem as quality, but hopefully that is just a one-off.

This is the only restaurant in SF that I know to serve lamb back bone hot pot. I crave their broth every time its get raining and cold in the bay area. This broth is not msg broth. It's full of flavor and you can taste that they cooked for a long time. Just minus 1 star because it's kinda expensive.

My favorite hotpot in the city!! The service is great (staff members brought me yogurts when the brother was too spicy, but I loved it).

Mongolian hotpot with lamb spine satisfied my cravings! We also ordered a variety of beef and vegetable items and they were all huge portions and fresh. The lamb spine broth as well as the sour vegetable broth were particularly flavorful. Service was prompt and attentive.

One of my favorite restaurants for lamb. Their main business is hot pot. But I came to this place mainly for their BBQ Lamb Rib and BBQ Lamb Leg. They are so good that I don't want to eat their hot pot anymore. If you just want to eat these BBQ lambs, you can also order other side dishes. The cold garlic cucumber is fresh and tasty. The noddles with sesame sauce is also highly recommended.

    Do they take reservations?

Do they use MSG in the broth?

I don't think so. We usually order their basic broth (what I see are: water, ginger, scallion, dates, and goji berries.) The flavor are then developed by what you put in, so the broth is very light and hint of sweetness in the beginning, a bit more… Read more

    Which broths are vegan?

Mushroom or tomato. Just ask the wait to tell the chef not to put any chicken, beef or lamb broth with it.

    Is there a menu?

Very extensive menu. I learned that you 1) pick 1 or 2 broths (I chose Spicy - and is it ever), 2) pick ingredients (many, all fresh), 3) pick a side (definitely get the pancakes), and 4) pick a sauce for the sides (the chimichurra is excellent). -gB

Once they started calling tables, it moved really fast. When we were seated, we ended up sharing a table with two other groups of two. I actually didn't mind it at all because there was still enough space between everyone to have privacy. It also made the experience feel more social -- I ended up chatting with the people to my right and left about the food. Everything we ordered was really good. Their popular dry fried chicken absolutely lived up to the hype and was probably my favorite thing on the menu... besides the cherry pork. I feel like nobody talks about the cherry pork enough! It was SO good -- kind of like a sweet-and-sour pork without the sour. I dipped it in soy sauce because I loved the sweet and salty combo together. The dumplings were also really good. The wrapper was thin and delicious, but my boyfriend said he wished they had a little more protein filling and less leek. The green beans are always a hit. The only thing I probably wouldn't order again was the black bean sauce noodles. Maybe I just expected a different flavor, but to me they honestly tasted like regular lo mein. I'm also not a huge noodle person in general, so I'd probably skip them next time and order something else instead. Forgot to mention their prices are on point! Definitely recommend to any of the tourists. I think the weight is definitely worth it and I love being able to take home my leftovers and eating them for lunch and dinner the next day.

"Everything!" That's all one needs to say. At the entrance, clearly marked are signs reading, "Reservations" and "Walk-ins". Since we had reservations, we waited only a few minutes to get seated at the bar. The bar makes it easy to converse with your partner and to peer over as the fire from the range springs up from the kitchen. Our server brought us some "Free Bites" of roasted peanuts and smashed cucumbers. She was such a pleasant lady with quite the wit that made me laugh between courses. We ordered a full bottle of Negori sake. Note: if you do not finish the sake bottle, they cannot pack it to go for you, so drink up! Obviously, we couldn't order everything on the menu. For our first visit, we definitely wanted their special dish, Fried Squab. It was delicious! The meat was moist and the dipping salt with Sichuan peppercorn paired perfectly! Just don't focus too much on the visual... the head and claws. Hot Mustard Jellyfish Salad ~ I loved the "crunch" of the jellyfish and the hot mustard marinade was just spicy enough to start a slow burn up the nose. Beef Chow Fun Noodles ~ Delicious and so very savory. I was amazed at how flavorful this dish was without being salty. Clay Pot Rice w/Chinese Sausage & Bacon ~ Loved how the entire pot was seasoned nicely. The sauce did not only sit at the top, but penetrated deep down into the rice. XO Escargot w/Milkbread ~ I've only had French Escargot and these are just as good, if not better! Fish Fragrant Eggplant ~ Another savory and very umami dish. Red Bean Shaved Ice ~ Always a refreshing dessert. Dig in for the surprise in the center. We had such a nice, cozy dinner here. Even while at the bar, we never felt for lack of space. They paced the dishes out perfectly, so there was always room to eat and enjoy. Looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. I order my item, the chicken wings and item to share: the pan-fried dumplings, while my partner ordered one of the noodle soups. She comes back later and points out that the noodle soup has soy - much apperciated because people sometimes share, etc. And I said it was just for my partner. -- The chicken wings were plump, crispy, the first two were 'heathly', didn't taste the salt, and the rest were packed with flavor. If you're looking for consistency there is a #1 spot in Chinatown for chicken wings which I will not disclose in this review. But, otherwise, for flavor - I like it here. My partner said he didn't find the ones here oily but I said the bottom ones were a little and I did enjoy it.
