I have been going to iPIC for a long time coming from Illinois. The Pasadena location is where I have been going since I have relocated back from Illinois. I would give this place a "FIVE STAR" rating, if it was not for the food. I always try to give them a chance so I am going to break this down. SERVERS They are your, rude, and unattentive. Maybe they need to pay them a little more money, but they are oblivious to people. They need some older people in there with customer service experience to serve their clients. I am a certified food technician, and one thing that is disgusting about this place, and many others, you cannot even as a server, scratch or rub through your hair, dig in your ears or nose, scratching your skin, rubbing your nose with your fingers, etc. EMPLOYER: If your staff is sick in the slightest way please do not allow them to serve food, period end of story. I can imagine what is going on inside the kitchen, "FOOD INSPECTORS" please recertify a/o inspect these places. When you push the button it takes a while for someone to show up, and they are rude. The attitudes are messed up. They screw up your order, and take it to other people, etc. Yesterday they tried to charge me for something they did not deliver, and I started to let them have it verbally, but I kept my cool, and handled it professionally. THE MOVIE THEATRE It is awesome, this is why I come, but at $30 a pop, and I always pay for four or more people, I just expect better food and service. Lawry's charge that amount for a plate of food, and the service is impeccable. Once you come to a theatre like this you cannot go back to a regular theatre, unless the movie you want to see is not playing there, and that is when I go to Regal Cinemas L.A. Live. The seating, I do not know if I want to watch the movie or go to sleep, and it does not help when there is a pillow and blanket for each seat (not complaining, just saying). DRINKS The drinks have improved quite a bit, but it depends on who is bartendering. DREAM TO REALITY When I come into my money, I am going to be there competition to show them how to do it. Anyone can have an elaborate place, but you need employees who have a passion for what they do, and you need to pay them for it. I would hire 30 and up, and the younger folks to just clean up, and have no interaction with my clients. I like the place so much, I wish I could afford to work for them, and assist in hiring their staff. It is easy for someone not to come back paying that kind of money, and getting bad service and food. IMPROVEMENT Yesterday five of us went, and surprisingly the Thai Coconut Shrimp was "perfect", the Buffalo Chicken Spring Rolls "perfect", the soft pretzels w/ dipping sauces "awesome". I am taking my husband, and my son there for Easter, and I pray the experience is better than good. read more

This place is awesome. It's classy, but you don't feel out of place in jeans. It's very comfortable and the viewing experience is top notch (even with 3d.) The staff is very good, attentive, and friendly. Though a bit pricey, this is the best way to go to the movies, hands down. read more

Once you visit this movie theater, regular theaters will never be the same. This place is so luxurious for a movie theater. We loved it! The food was good, not 5 star, but good. Your seats are so comfortable, you get a small pillow and a blanket. They also have a compartment in which you can put your stuff in. It's a great experience, just not something one can do on a daily basis unless you're rolling in dough. It's pricey, however if you're a member you get 5 bucks off tickets Monday through Thursday I believe, and you also get discounts on certain drinks and food items. So I guess it's sorta worth it, but I did end up spending 80 bucks tonight -_- The I my real big complaint I guess I would have, is that one of the servers is really loud when he served the food to certain people. It was a little ridiculous seeing as its a movie theater and the audience is told to be quiet and yet the staff is being loud, it was just distracting which was a little irritating, but whatever. I came here to celebrate a birthday. I was impressed with the service. Seats are cozy and having access to a waiter really makes this experience remarkable. It's very pricey. It's a nice experience, but I wouldn't go back. On the day that I went, there was an issue with the screen. We were told that we would get a refund, however I live far and told them that I couldn't return so I didn't accept their vouchers and requested a credit. THIS is where the problem lies, it's been 2 weeks and I have only received half of my credit ($29.00) I bought 2 tickets. I can't get a definite response from the manager. With this day in age of technology, it shouldn't take 2 weeks to get a credit back on my credit card...... or at the very least, they should have gotten my credit back right the first time around. Overall, we had a GREAT experience here and will definitely return for a date night. The truffle fries are out of this world. So. Effing. Good. I may or may not have poured the leftover cheese into my popcorn bag..... We also ordered their chinois chicken salad rolls. They were very good, but fell apart quite easily and were a bit messy. This made for a bit of a precarious situation while eating in the dark. Lastly, my wife decided to order a cheesecake near the end of the movie. I was way too full to eat it, but I had a few bites anyway. Then a few more. Then somehow it was gone. The one thing I would say was an issue would be my recliner. I think it was damaged because it felt like something was jabbing into my back the whole movie. I was in theater 4 seat c3 I believe. Try to avoid that one!!! If you cared anything about life or being happy, please ditch all the other theaters and go to the Ipic. It felt very exclusive, very private, very upscale, spacious, and all around the best movie experience I have ever had. The only thing I would recommend is go early! Give yourself time to sit and have a drink, go to the lounge, maybe have a drink for 4...lol the all around movie experience was top notch. I saw Mad Max, and had a jalapeno infused vodka drink... I've been to the IPic in Pasadena on a few occasions. While I wouldn't go there on a monthly basis to watch a movie, it's a great spot for special occasions or that special date. Amazing bar area and lounge. The noise level is not that bad and you can have a convo without having to raise your voice. Drinks are pricey but we'll made. The theater itself is very nice as well. Only a few seat that you pre-selected. Seats are comfy recliners that come with a pillow and blanket. Only down side is they're so comfortable, that I actually fell asleep for a bit. Lol. Lovely movie theater situated in old town Pasadena next to some nice restaurants. The theater is located in the basement along with a lovely lounge area and bar. As you enter the theater, you're greeted and then directed to your assigned seats in the theater. You are given a blanket, pillow, and comfy reclining chair before the movie starts. There's also a call button that allows you to make orders during the movie. We ordered the fried calamari and mahi mahi fish tacos.. Got to say, calamari was waaaay too greasy and the fish in the tacos were too dry. And just don't look too closely to the cracks and crevices around the chairs.. I dont review much but this place has me hooked, when i first started attending here back in September 2015 the service was terrible, however the experience had me hooked. I have seen over 20 movies since then and the service as of about two months ago has really taken a turn for the best. So KUDOS to them! The food is extremely high quality and the drinks are obviously awesome, the popcorn is also on point! The only recommendation i would have is to possibly place another table in between the seats placed in the middle aisles and one to the right of the seats on the sides. when going with a friend (which most people do) its kind of difficult placing large plates along with multiple drinks on the tables. It would also be nice if we got some credit as a member for alcoholic drinks, if that isnt possible maybe a different type of rewards system. ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE THOUGH! read more

I LOVE this place. Evere since my first time being invited there, I have returned numerous times. I even had a party there of 12 of us going, Really fun. I like the menu for nibbling while watching the movie and well, just about everything is ideal. Walking about in Pasadena before or after our show is always fun. I've only been once so far, so I'm going with my initial impression. I do intend on going back to try it again -- simply because I truly WANT to love this theater -- so there will likely be a follow-up review coming soon. I had known about this theater since it was being constructed, but only just recently finally took the time to check it out last Saturday to see Harry Potter 7. I live in Mid-Wilshire/Los Angeles so it's a little bit of a trek to Pasadena just for a movie, but being occasionally decadent and a bit of a connoisseur for atmosphere, service and comfort, I'm more than willing to pay in both ticket price and drive time. Non-issue for me there. Upon arriving at the theater, I was somewhat confused where to park. I believe there is valet just outside the theater, but nobody was there so I valet parked up the block. Minor issue. Having to peek down an alley to find the entrance was a little odd as well but not being familiar with downtown Pasadena this is probably normal. Once inside, I was impressed with the atmosphere. The entrance is a little bit awkward, the second of the two downward escalators was not functioning, and there were no signs so my girlfriend and I felt a bit lost for a split second. Upon reaching the downstairs area where the theaters are, I was taken back by how much the atmosphere mimicked a night club / bar. Designer furniture, dim lighting, music, cute waitresses and a slick bar. Very nice. Once in the theater, I was very impressed with the seating arrangement and the amount of SPACE you are given. These chairs are incredible and having your own little table (complete with dim LED lighting) is fantastic. Where they fell short was service / organization. The staff was very friendly, but the drink we ordered 20 minutes before being seated never arrived. We ordered food and had it delivered, but still no drinks. After asking 3 servers, it finally made its way to our table almost an hour into the movie. Mid-movie I ordered another drink and a bottle of water, but had to involve another server a second time after only being given water. Again, everyone was very nice, but having to keep calling servers over for forgotten items was VERY distracting from the movie and the overall experience. It was nice to have a quieter and more upscale theater than the Arclight, which over the last few years has begun to attract the same attendees as lesser theaters (people on cell phones texting, talking loudly, kids, food messes, etc) but for the price point and the distance (I clocked in around $130 for everything grand total), I was hoping for a top-notch experience across the board. They pitch themselves as the best possible theater-going experience -- and they're certainly almost there -- but on the table of elements, they're a step or two away from truly being gold. I plan on going a second time during a weekday and will give my follow-up rating then. read more

As far as movie theaters go this place is as good as it gets. We were worried that the waiters servicing the people in seats would be distracting but we didn't even notice. For a movie it is very expensive. The pizza, buffalo egg rolls, and mini-hamburgers were all delicious. read more

Last night was my first time there. The experience was good, but for the price I expected much more. We arrived a little early for the movie, Rum Diary. We sat in the lounge until the the theater was open. The first thing I noticed was that they have a lot employees for the number of customers. I'm happy that people have jobs, but having a different waiter come by every five minutes to ask if we wanted to order something was very annoying. The theater itself was very nice. Oversized recliners, in a small theater that made you feel like you were at a private screening. We wanted to order nachos but were told that they "ran out." As a back up, we ordered quesadillas and a couple of soft drinks. We also asked for blankets. Unfortunately, it took forever for the food to arrive. The quesadillas arrive first, with no utensils followed a few minutes later by the soft drinks and then the blankets. We asked for utensils, but by the time they brought them we had used our fingers (messy.) The food was ok and priced what I expected for movie food. Oh and we also had to ask for popcorn. I though it was provided when we were seated? Again for the price, I expected more. The employees are very pleasant, but the service is just inefficient. Slow delivery of the food and drinks, running out of food...not good. With all of the people working there, why would it take so long to deliver a couple of blankets. Venue good. First class experience! I had the pleasure to enjoy this theater with a friend and had a very good time. This theater's concept is out of the box idea. It had a lounge where you can hang out and enjoy a drink or two while you wait for your movie to start. The experience inside the theater is great. It has about 20 seats and they are very large (wide) and comfy. The seats recline and attendants will provide you with a pillow and blanket. The menu is not your standard theater menu. I wanted to check this theater out since I've heard many people talking about it, turns out to be a great experienced. The building in Pasadena was hard to find since their sign was in the back street. We came early and sat in the lounging area then decided to order food while waiting for our movie. Their food was like a five star restaurant but overall our bill came out to be $60. We still had not finish our drinks and food so the waitress help us to our seats and brought the food over. The seats had so much space and they also provided blankets and a small pillow. Each seat had a private compartment for storage. One thing I didn't expected was the free popcorn which was given at the beginning of the movie. The best thing was the reclining chairs that reclined flat like a bed. If you love being comfortable and pampered while watching a movie, then you should give this place a try. Although it's on the expensive side, it is a nice experience. They serve you alcohol and some nice food as well. Table isnkinda smallnso don't order too much. Remember this is still a movie theatre and not a restaurant. They have reclining seats and they are very comfortable. They have blankets and pillows there as well. Love the experience of this theatre but not sure if the price is justifiable. We've come here before but I must say that they have remodeled since the last time we were there and it looked amazing in the waiting area. The drinks were delicious and as always the movie chairs were awesome. The waitress was nice and the place was clean. It's still expensive ($28) a ticket which comes with a small popcorn but it's totally worth it if you want to have adult time in a nice comfortable setting. We'll be coming back soon! read more

IPic is really the only way to watch movies. Sure they don't have 20 screens but the whole experience more than makes up for it. Every other theater is inferior in comparison. No lines to get popcorn and you can have a real meal with awesome service. And yes, they have a breakfast menu. You just gotta experience it and decide for yourself. read more

Very nice place to watch a movie. I thought I would splurge to see a late showing of Star Wars 3D in this location. Not sure why I was charged $24 and the receipt shows $16. I would not do this again, but for Star Wars E7, it was a great experience. You can order food and drink to your seat with a remote. Each seat is electric and slides into a recline position. Each seat presents a pillow and blanket with the Ipic logo. I originally had a seat in row 3 and found that the seat back in front of me blocked the bottom few inches of the screen for me. I suppose, were people seated in them and reclined, maybe it wouldn't have done this, but I was one of 3 people in this showing, so I moved back a few rows to be higher. The 3D glasses were nicer than any other I've used in theaters. I was offered free popcorn but after spending $24 on the movie, I didn't order any food or drink. The bar and lobby area were very nice. I liked the darkened atmosphere. The rest room was also very fancy. read more

This was my first time here a few weeks ago and it was amazing!!! We ordered the truffle fries, sliders, and quesadilla. It was all really good, especially the fries! I feel like it took a while for us to get our food after we ordered, but it was okay because they passed out the free popcorn and you are being entertained by the movie. The service was pretty good, and kudos to the waiters for being able to run around and carry food in the dark lol The bathrooms were really clean and well taken care of. Overall, we loved our experience here and would most definitely go back again! The only thing I wish I could change would be possibly deep cleaning/reupholster the chairs, the fabric looked a bit worn on them. And it would have also been nice to snuggle up with my honey, but the huge arm rest prevented that. read more

As a Pasadena Local I have been coming here since 2014 before it was the iPic, and I continue to come because it's a great local place to see a movie. Always great staff and I Love the new up grades . I can't wait to come again. Again I'm loving the new upgrade the new wrap around pods make it feel so cozy and private. The staff is always wonderful and lastly the food and foods are always on point. five start. It's just my favorite place to see a movie, iPic is the best. Others try and copy but there no match. My fiance and I went to the Ipic Theatre in Westwood August 25th to see Annabelle. We were so excited for the dine- in experience. We got there 15 minutes before our show, sat down in the theatre and ordered a few drinks and food. Our server would disappear on us for long periods of a time. We kept having the ring the button to call him all night long. He brought us food but no silverware. We had to ring for water. For a napkin ! He didn't offer us a second round of drinks. He didn't even grab our plates when we were done. Whats the point of going to a dine- in movie theatre if you cant get the proper service ? We had spend over 100$ just on food and drinks , we would have left a great tip if only the service was right. This guy absolutely sucked ! The movie itself was great, I am only reviewing the dine- in portion of our experience. I loved the comfortable seats, pillow , and blanket. Overall, I wouldn't be back. I rather spend 100$ at a regular restaurant and go to a normal movie theatre where tickets arent 30$ a person. read more
