It's a 1923 built building which makes it cooler. It only shows one movie because there's only 1 screen. The staff was great and they seemed happy to be there. I ordered popcorn and a Coke Zero, great tasting popcorn. Reasonable pricing on the snacks. The inside is so cool and vintage as you can imagine. Try it out it's a cool experience.

I had to see Christopher Nolan's "The Odyssey" at this theater in Los Feliz. You could pay at the box office or order your tickets on the website. I bought my ticket online and just had my QR code scanned at the theater entrance by an employee with an iPad. Walked into the lobby and joined the line for the concessions stand. There is popcorn, candy, soft drinks and also adult beverages: beer and wine. After getting my popcorn I walked into the huge theater and it was amazing. Egyptian style architecture, a huge closed red curtain that hides the screen and the seats a comfortable with ample leg room. The same employee that scanned my online ticket came to the front of the movie screen and greeted us with a warm hello, introduced the film, told us proper movie etiquette (no filming or taking pictures of the movie and to please take your trash out with you when you leave the theater) and let us know there was 15 minutes of previews including a Bugs Bunny cartoon. So cool! Will definitely come back to watch more movies here!

They validate, but I'm not sure why after suffering through a 3-hour movie like The Odyssey, it still came out to $40. (Some may disagree, but it was probably the worst movie we've seen in some time.) Add two tickets for The Odyssey that came out to $70 for reclining leather seats, snacks $42, bar $50. Friendly staff was priceless. There is an option to order food online, but I looked at the menu an hour before showtime so most choices were sold out. Find out about other less expensive parking lots - if there's such a thing down there - before you go and I wouldn't trust AI on this. Make sure the movie is really, really good - can't rely on Rotten Tomatoes either - because the snack bar and bar for alcohol will make you take out another mortgage. It still turned out to be a fun evening. Just plan your night at the movies and be sure you have an idea of how much you want to spend.

This theater is on the pricier side GEESH at nearly $20 per ticket, but it easily ranks as one of the most luxurious options in the South Bay--especially if you're used to high-end spots like Regal Promenade in Rolling Hills and Regal LA Live in DTLA. I used to go to Regal dtla a lot when I used to solo pampered to the max lol live in a luxury high rise in dtla. The reclining chairs are an absolute must-have for comfort, and the diligent, teen smiling faces of friendly customer service to me from when I entered to the solo ticket purchasing at the food counter, to the attentive customer service of teen customers sneaking in to watch movies with their friends in which I would've helped pay for but rather their own parents pay for them better, really elevates the whole experience. ** This whole theater can be more beach fancier. Staff is so friendly, the views are amazing, chairs are comfy, snack bar and coctails are poppin. They also have games to play if you arrive early. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend. Bring blankets and even a sweater it does get chilly, but so cozy if you are prepared. Date night, girls nights even family night. This experience is a must and I will be coming back!

The event organizers did a FANTASTIC job, as guests were all commenting on how much fun they had all night long. Parking is available across the street in a private, fenced but unsupervised parking lot. Lighting is great, and there are numerous very bright lights throughout the lot. The venue where the movie was shown is on the fourth floor of the Level Hotel located on 9th Street and Olive Street in downtown Los Angeles. Guests are not allowed in the outdoor seating area until sixty minutes before showtime. Once upstairs, you are free to sit anywhere, as seating is first come, first served. Guests sit on very comfortable, padded Adirondack chairs that event organizers provide. The view of the screen, the sound, and the overall atmosphere are fun, relaxed, and positive. Guests are handed a headset to listen to the movie, and/or the surround sound speakers are on for those choosing not to use the headset. There is a snack bar offering hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, popcorn, ice cream, and several other snacks on one side and alcoholic beverages on the opposite side. Clean and convenient restrooms are within walking distance from the outdoor seating area. Guests as young as 16 are allowed in, and 21 and over if you plan to have an alcoholic beverage (or two). Different movies, both current and older, are shown nightly. Check their website for the exact movies shown on any given night. Several nights per week, two buffet movies are shown back-to-back. During our visit, our group of fourteen watched The Princess Bride, which was not our favorite movie; we still had a FANTASTIC time. We DEFINITELY plan to return in the very near future

At a recent showing, I ordered the Culver Combo and the popcorn was almost entirely small, crumbly fragments, the tiny broken bits you'd normally find at the very bottom of the bag. It was basically impossible to eat. I got a refill halfway through, assuming I'd just gotten the ends of a batch, but the replacement scoop from a fresh machine was no better. On top of the texture, the popcorn also just doesn't taste good. it had a slightly burnt taste every single time. 2) About an hour into every movie, it becomes obvious there's no AC or fan running. I wouldn't be surprised if a CO2 monitor showed elevated levels. I've flagged this to staff on all three visits, and each time turning on the AC fixed it immediately, but it's never on by default. Sitting in a hot, stale theater for two hours is genuinely unpleasant, and the difference in air quality the moment you step into the hall is obvious. I really want to like this theater, it's a local business and I'd rather support it than a big chain but I won't be returning unless these issues are addressed/fixed.

I attended a showing of the Mel Brooks 1991 classic "Life Stinks" which was excellent and not a typical Brooks comedy as it also thoughtfully addressed the homeless crisis which has only gotten worse since 1991 unfortunately. I'm a big Lesley Ann Warren fan and she was gracious enough to do a fascinating Q & A with a movie professor after the showing. I liked that unlike many movie stars she didnt rush it and spent a good hour talking about making the movie with some cool insider stories. The icing on the cake is I got to meet her afterwards and get her autograph and photos with her(she was really nice and looked great). Highly recommended theatre for movie fans.

It's such a nostalgic movie theater with a person at the one box office who greets you warmly and is nicely dressed in a vest, the cartoon countdown from 10 minutes to it's time for the show, a classic confessions person taking your food and drink orders to the detailed orientated rugs and fun designed lighting fixtures. The restrooms are clean and modernized. The lighting could be a bit brighter. Inside of the theaters is a fun experience. It's as if we're transported back in time with it's art deco style on the walls, plush and roommy seats that start with many seats in the back then goes to two seater aisles the closer one gets to the screen. The screen it self is hidden behind a plush or velvet curtain until it's time to watch the other movie previews, watch a cartoon about going to the concession booth or the hilarious "Turn Off Your Cellular Phones" Victorian opera style. I caught a matinee which was a great price and the other attendees enjoyed the movie! I love this theater!

Like this movie was so great, it has redefined what I can expect from a Marvel movie, and movies in general. But this review is not about the latest Spider Man flick, it is about Alamo Drafhouse Cinema. And I firmly believe that one of the reasons why I loved Brand New Day so much is because I saw it in Alamo Drafthouse. The movie going experienced was enhanced, dare I say even honored, by this place. And, I might be wrong, but saying that a place made a movie better, is the loudest clap a moviegoer can give to a place that plays movies for goers. I am not sure how I first heard of Alamo Drafthouse, but I selected it as the venue that will host my movie going experience because I fe;t Spider Man deserved the stage. When I got there I was surprised by one sheer fact: I have walked by this place many a time, and I never knew that it was there. Which made me realize in a much broader way that what they say about LA is true--- one will never be bored here because there is always something new to do, and if you cannot find something new, than you might not be looking hard enough. The entrance to the place that holds Alamo also had a reminder that we might all need to hear: "say whatever it is, before it is too late." I entered and the place gave me Bing Bang Theory basement vibes if Howard or Sheldon had the funds to create a luxury movie theathre in their basements. The place was replete with a lot of different posters, and toys, and other memorabilia. If one is a flick nerd, then this place will be their slice of heaven with reclining sheets. I clipped just a few pictures of the different do-thats that this place. For instance, they had a wall full of Spider Man posters. As I walked past them and into my designated theatre I felt more excited to see the motion. Also, they had this area with tables and beers on tap with the Spider Man from the 90's playing. Which makes me believe that Spider Man 97 is coming along the pike cause this cartoon is not quitting. But I thought it was such a great touch to play this cartoon because it is responsible for having so many people fall in love with the wall crawler. It was appropriate nostalgia that frame the movie. So if I have not made it clear, being in this place is a small museum that reminds us why we love movies, beyond them offering escapism when times get tough. The movie rooms were small, quaint, and comfortable. I think most people would agree that a recliner while watching a movie may not be needed, but just like fudge on ice cream, it makes the treat better in a rich kind of way. Additionally, this place offers food delivered to your chair by a server. The besides me had a whole happy hour situation going on. He ordered three margaritas, a hamburger, fries and enjoyed his time. It was all about being good and happy at the movies. This place facilitated that. I was not hungry. But I was inspired by my neighbor to order a treat---- sea salt and vinegar popcorn laced with gold fish, and it was a nice little treat. First, I never had that combination before. It was great! The goldfish cheese taste was deepened. Not in every bite but the ones that were in the bottom of the sea(bowl). The second thing that they did, that another Yelper. comment on was, they "have a no-phone policy." Meaning that when the movie started to play they encouraged us not to use our phone or we might be asked to leave. We were told we can report people on our phone using their phone. And they addressed the irony of it--- and resolved it by saying just don't be a jerk. It as like putting a pretty ribbon bow in a package that was once difficult to wrap. The movie had previews but before that they had a comedian re-cap the journey to this movie and it was funny. The comedian wondered if DR. Strange was also the type of guy that buys liquor for a minor since he did a universe altering spell for one. Then before the movie they showed a video with Holland stating that this Spider Man Movie was created for "you." And to a much lower degree, for sure, this Yelp was written for you too.

We purchased the front luxury seats…read moreexpecting a premium experience, but the seating arrangement was extremely cramped and uncomfortable. The seats were way too close together, and the person next to us had belongings spread into the shared space, making it very difficult to get in and out of our seats comfortably. Because of how uncomfortable the situation was, we decided to leave during the previews before the movie even started. We politely explained the issue to the manager and asked if we could either move to different seats -- even less expensive ones -- or receive some type of accommodation such as passes for another movie. Unfortunately, the manager refused to help in any way and would not issue a refund, exchange, or even offer courtesy tickets. For a theater that markets itself as a luxury experience and charges premium prices, I expected much better customer service. Other theaters like AMC are usually much more understanding and willing to work with customers when issues arise. Instead, we left feeling frustrated after paying for a movie we never got to watch. Sadly, this experience completely turned us off from coming back.
