The Wilshire Screenig Room is a small theater for private screenings. People in the industry rent it. Although it's small, the seats are comfortable and the accoustics are great! Underground parking which was free for me as it was night, after biz hours.

Parking is behind the building, under ground.

Really like this venue. First: it's Los Angeles so parking is normally a nightmare. This business has a parking attendant and validated parking. The staff for this business is hyper responsive, excellent communicators and tech savvy. I wish they'd take their staff and apply their best practices to state and federal government agencies. ;)

Comfy reclining leather chairs - arm rests are adjustable. Great view of screen no matter where you sit in the room

I haven't been upstairs but it seems like there's a bar or possible café up there. There are a good amount of theaters at this location, including the premium formats like IMAX and Dolby. Concessions is solid here. I imagine that they have quite the amount of traffic that comes through and they handle it well while still being friendly. The food offerings are pretty much the same as your usual AMC theater. I mostly get the popcorn anyway. I've been here recently, a few times to watch movies with a movie club that recently started up. Generally, the experience have been pleasant. My only gripe with the grove and it's not necessarily AMC's fault, is getting here with all the traffic and parking. Usually this is not my first preference of location, but I definitely like the meet ups with the movie club.

Since the film was made for IMAX 70mm, we decided to make the drive from Las Vegas to Los Angeles specifically to see it at the TCL Chinese Theatre. We ended up choosing the 7 a.m. showing, which honestly worked out better than expected. There were plenty of seats available, and it allowed us to enjoy the movie without feeling rushed while still making it back to Las Vegas at a reasonable time. Yes, it meant waking up early, but some movie experiences are worth the extra effort. The TCL Chinese Theatre is one of those places that instantly makes you stop and admire your surroundings. Walking inside feels like stepping into a piece of Hollywood history. The architecture is beautiful, the atmosphere is grand, and there's something special about knowing so many iconic premieres have taken place there. It's much more than just a movie theater; it's a landmark. Seeing The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm was incredible. The picture quality was stunning, and the surround sound was remarkable. Every scene felt immersive, and the scale of the film truly came alive on the giant screen. This is exactly the type of movie that deserves to be experienced in a theater like this. I do hope the TCL Chinese Theatre continues investing in preserving and updating the property. As a historic Hollywood icon, it deserves continued care so future generations can enjoy the same magic. The theater already has so much character and charm, and maintaining landmarks like this is incredibly important. What started as a simple movie outing turned into one of our favorite day trips. Between the historic venue, the incredible IMAX presentation, and finally getting to see The Odyssey the way it was meant to be seen, the experience was absolutely worth the drive from Las Vegas.

My son has been wanting to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and the first one is one of his favorite movies of all time. Personally, I don't like that movie but I went along with him. Tickets are $25 each and they have a $4 parking garage, but we were lucky enough to get a free after-hour meter on the street. It's a nice place and it seems like comfort is their top priority. The recliner chairs are extremely comfy and come with a blanket in case you get cold. You know how movie theaters are always chilly. Once you get settled, you can press a button that sends an employee over to take your order. It's completely optional. We got one small popcorn (light butter, $6) which was big enough for both of us. I like this idea of having the option of ordering and dining at your seat while watching a movie, but the reality is a bit different. It's kind of annoying to see the employees coming and going when someone needs a refill or places a new order during the movie. You can hear them talking and they can even block your view. It's frustrating when you are trying to focus. With that being said, I think it has more pros than cons. There are bars and bathrooms located across the several floors and the one we went to was exceptionally clean. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this theatre. I prefer something more standard like AMC or Pacific Theatres (RIP!)...

Last week, we attended a showing of Toy Story 5 at the theater. We learned that not only is the new ownership not offering food service during the transition but intends to abandon that amenity altogether. This is among the most foolish decisions that could be made from a business perspective and will undoubtedly result in a total loss on the owners' investment. The building has a gigantic kitchen going to waste. The screens are small, and the ticket prices are high. The sole reason people have chosen this theater over the numerous options (e.g. Century City AMC) is its special quality of in-theater dining and expanded, up-scale fare. It is absurd that the owners are trying to spin this as an improvement, claiming this unique feature has been "retired in favor of elevated food & beverage offerings -- designed to enhance your cinematic experience by reducing service-related noise, light and other distractions." No amount of polishing to the menu at the tavern will offset the loss of clientele brought on by the abandonment of the in-theater dining option. The owners need only look to the onslaught of terrible reviews streaming in across Yelp and Google or the consensus of complaints in the Reddit community to understand the extent to which this misguided approach will devalue their investment. They will certainly be losing our business until this irrational new approach is reversed.

Originally opening in 1926 as Hollywood's largest legitimate theater, it has hosted everything from Broadway productions to iconic film premieres, including Citizen Kane. After a meticulous restoration led by The Walt Disney Company, the theater reopened in 1991 and has since become Disney's flagship theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Today, it serves as Disney's home for world premieres, special events, live stage shows, and screenings of both new releases and beloved classics. The theater's stunning architecture and historic significance even earned it Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument status. I have seen countless Disney films here over the years and every visit feels special. The atmosphere, the themed displays, and the beautifully restored interior make it feel much more memorable than a typical movie theater outing. Another bonus is the convenient parking. You can park directly across the street at Ovation Hollywood and with validation from the theater, parking is just $3 for up to four hours. Whether you are a Disney enthusiast, a movie lover, or simply appreciate Hollywood history, the El Capitan Theatre is a true Los Angeles gem and well worth a visit.

I was pleasantly surprised by some of the modern concessions they had, specifically the cans of LaCroix they were selling. Love it. This is located on a busy part of Wilshire. But don't panic. There's parking for you if you're stealthy. Right before you approach the theatre, there's a small side street called Holt. If you turn onto Holt, it's free residential parking all the way down (please read the signs though). Parking closer to the theatre on this street will get you one free hour of parking but if you park several blocks down will give you more time. Consider this option if you don't mind a bit of a walk. At a recent showing, I ordered the Culver Combo and the popcorn was almost entirely small, crumbly fragments, the tiny broken bits you'd normally find at the very bottom of the bag. It was basically impossible to eat. I got a refill halfway through, assuming I'd just gotten the ends of a batch, but the replacement scoop from a fresh machine was no better. On top of the texture, the popcorn also just doesn't taste good. it had a slightly burnt taste every single time. 2) About an hour into every movie, it becomes obvious there's no AC or fan running. I wouldn't be surprised if a CO2 monitor showed elevated levels. I've flagged this to staff on all three visits, and each time turning on the AC fixed it immediately, but it's never on by default. Sitting in a hot, stale theater for two hours is genuinely unpleasant, and the difference in air quality the moment you step into the hall is obvious. I really want to like this theater, it's a local business and I'd rather support it than a big chain but I won't be returning unless these issues are addressed/fixed.

They always have great films in rotation, especially nostalgic and romantic classics. Watching The Notebook here was unforgettable. It was romantic, funny, and somehow perfectly timed because it started lightly drizzling during the rain scene on screen. It made the whole moment feel surreal and cinematic. I believe the first popcorn is either free or included with the ticket, which is a really nice touch. The food and drinks are solid, and the overall vibe is relaxed but thoughtfully curated. Definitely bring your own blankets, especially on cloudy or cooler nights, because it gets extra cozy. One tip is to always check the weather before going, since it is an outdoor rooftop experience. That said, the atmosphere is worth it, and I will absolutely keep booking here whenever I'm in the mood for a nostalgic movie night with a unique twist. We checked in at the front entrance and took the slow-moving elevator up to the rooftop. It wasn't a huge deal, but definitely something that stood out. When we got to the top, we were asked to fill out a waiver on our phones--super quick and easy, but honestly something that could've been done earlier when buying tickets online. Parking in the area was $20 at a lot across the street. Not terrible for a Friday night in LA, but still worth mentioning. Your ticket includes skate rental and one drink, so we grabbed a Paloma (the other option was not available) which hit the spot. Unfortunately, the skating surface was a bit of a letdown--treaded hard plastic mats that didn't offer a smooth ride. It took a lot of effort to move and wasn't beginner-friendly. Plus there was a tricky spot that tripped up more than a few skaters. The biggest surprise was the low energy overall--music was pretty quiet, and the vibe felt more relaxed than festive. We expected more of a party atmosphere for a Friday night rooftop in the heart of LA. It was still fun to do something different and hang out with our group, but unless they upgrade the floor or amp up the energy, it's probably a one-and-done for us. Tips: - Allow extra time for the elevator to the 3rd floor. - $20 parking lot across the street. - 1 Drink included, so grab one and make the most of it!
